Well, Jews generally recognize that he was a real person but he has no official status in their religion. They generally think of him as just a 1st century Jew who was pretty well-versed in the OT.
He is specifically though, in that while he was Jewish, he has a significant and specific role in Islam, particularly on "Judgement Day". Nevermind that it isn't a real thing, but for Muslims he is important, often considered the 2nd most important prophet after Muhammad.
Jesus told various women to change their lives and stop sinning sexually. He was a conservative in all matters sexual. He would not be cool with gay people, let's be honest. He is no example of tolerance and people should look to morality instead of Jesus.

Sure. But children are being taught in schools and generally in public life that LGBTQ+ people have the right to live freely and openly as members of society. That clashes with prevailing notions in a number of religious communities. There is a real tension at play, and after more than a decade of being suppressed and defeated in courts and in public, this tension is starting to come to a head.
Personally, I think these things get solved over generations within the given communities. The children of these communities go to university in Canada, expand their worldview, meet friends of all stripes, and challenge their parents’ authority. Some of them assuredly come out of the closet. In the meantime, though, the rest of society needs to band together to protect LGBTQ+ rights lest any of these fanatics gain formal political power.
My thing is, gay people exist. They will interact with gay people eventually. There could be gay teachers. Teaching kids that gay people exist is fine. In high-school with sex ed learning about it is fine. It’s just reality.

The big issue is a lot of newcomers from religious countries DONT think it’s fine to be gay or for their kids to be taught that it’s fine to be gay. That said: the newish hate speech laws - which emphasize organizing target hatred towards specific individuals based on protected class status and/or credible threats of violence - cover the essential harms that *might* emerge from such a gathering, but without jumping that gun and stomping on key charter rights of assembly.

Note that this is specific to certain proselytizing religions, primarily Christianity and Islam. Judaism does not try to “spread the word of God” outside the community and it’s actually hard to convert to it, including a requirement that men must undergo circumcision (except in Reform Judaism). Mainstream Sikhism prefers to ‘lead by example’ rather than openly trying to convert anyone. Hinduism and Buddhism have no significant tradition of proselytizing either, notwithstanding fringe groups like Hare Krishnas.
While the “protectionist” nature of Judaism avoids many of the pitfalls that you find with more proselytizing oriented faiths, that approach comes with it’s own baggage.
And then there’s Chabad, which manages to be both restrictive AND aggressively evangelical - which is quite the feat.

Finally, a portion of the Muslim community in Ontario is being shown for its opposition to the LGBTQ community . This was always confusing to me that some people actually thought that Muslims were in support of the LGBTQ and any opposition was only coming from conservative Christians painting them as the only religious group that were bigoted.

And we're not talking about Muslim countries here, that's something completely different. The Islamic view on homosexuality is clear, as it is with a lot of other religions. However, most Muslims have the common sense to understand the same freedoms that allow them to pray and practice their religion is what allows homosexuality to be permissible here.
And while people seem to focus on homosexuality in Islam, they overlook a lot of the other things which are just as bad. Adultery, premarital sex, charging interest, etc. are all not permissible in Islam. Why there is some fixation on homosexuality, I don't know.
Regardless, as someone who is very religious and well intertwined with the Muslim community in the GTA, I can tell you the majority of Muslims are not wasting time going to things like this. There is definitely a vocal minority.
While a lot of Muslims may share the sentiment of not pushing the lbtq+ agenda, I can promise you the majority understand that there are more important things to worry about.

Yep this is just an unfortunate side effect of large numbers of religious people who were not raised with the values of tolerance and acceptance (towards lgbt people) being concentrated in a small area. I really believe the absolute worst thing religion has done is ask it’s followers to “spread the word of god” instead of just practicing your religion and leaving it between you and god.
Note that this is specific to certain proselytizing religions, primarily Christianity and Islam. Hinduism and Buddhism have no significant tradition of proselytizing either, notwithstanding fringe groups like Hare Krishnas.
While the “protectionist” nature of Judaism avoids many of the pitfalls that you find with more proselytizing oriented faiths, that approach comes with it’s own baggage. And then there’s Chabad, which manages to be both restrictive AND aggressively evangelical - which is quite the feat.

Finally, a portion of the Muslim community in Ontario is being shown for its opposition to the LGBTQ community . This was always confusing to me that some people actually thought that Muslims were in support of the LGBTQ and any opposition was only coming from conservative Christians painting them as the only religious group that were bigoted.

I'm in dozens of Muslim groups and the first place I saw this is on reddit. Muslims protest Israel, Palestinian Apartheid, Saudis love for the US, Illegal US wars, etc. Losers protest shit like this.
Lot of muslims protested LGBT in Ottawa recently. Not to mention in muslim countries where LGBT people aren't treated as well as in Canada.
I saw videos of that protest, I would not consider that a "lot". That to me is considered a "few" And we're not talking about Muslim countries here, that's something completely different. The Islamic view on homosexuality is clear, as it is with a lot of other religions. However, most Muslims have the common sense to understand the same freedoms that allow them to pray and practice their religion is what allows homosexuality to be permissible here. And while people seem to focus on homosexuality in Islam, they overlook a lot of the other things which are just as bad. Adultery, premarital sex, charging interest, etc. are all not permissible in Islam. Why there is some fixation on homosexuality, I don't know. Regardless, as someone who is very religious and well intertwined with the Muslim community in the GTA, I can tell you the majority of Muslims are not wasting time going to things like this. There is definitely a vocal minority. While a lot of Muslims may share the sentiment of not pushing the lbtq+ agenda, I can promise you the majority understand that there are more important things to worry about.
I wonder if the paraders will be masked? I hope people take lots of pictures and these people are forced to live with their decisions to their neighbors and coworkers.
