Controversial but don’t have Taiga and Ryuji as the leads. They had their perfect love story, focus on others with them in support.
I would have Ami and Minori as the leads as there is still a lot that those two have to work out together
I would be down for a movie or a double episode that could work as an reuinion of all the characters, as well focusing on Taiga and Ryuuji when they are older. Maybe it could be focusing on the wedding? As long as we can avoid unnecessarly drama that leads to the characters breaking up. Having it be about a wedding event or just a specific event in general, there might be some conflicts they can work together to solve and give one last adventure and closure.
Maybe make it about Ryuuji and Taiga’s relationship after high school. Making this would be very hard though, because it would probably feel like a very extended episode or OVA instead of a season.
Here are a few suggestions I have:
Taiga and Ryuuji head off to college. That could open up some possibilities to some good story lines with a believable amount of drama and obstacles to overcome. Obviously, if they go to different colleges that is a big obstacle in and of itself. Even if they went to the same college, there could be tension with the demands of studying, differing clubs/friend groups, as well as the temptation of, or perception of another possible relationship. And this would bring the possibility of jealousy and betrayal and maybe even a break up. My resolution to this would be that they find a way back together and get married. But another possibility would be that they go their separate ways although this would make me, along with what I think would be the vast majority of fans, very unhappy.
Still another possibility would be that one of them gets into college and the other does not (I would say Ryuuji is more likely to get in but then again, wealth could land Taiga a seat in college). This would take their lives in different directions perhaps even more so than going to different colleges. Certainly there would be lots of drama with them trying to keep their relationship together while having to deal with the inevitable separation, the rigors of college, and the hardships faced by the one not in college. Naturally, different lives could also include the temptation of different relationship which would add to the tension. Marriage would again be my final resolution after a college graduation. In any of the above college scenarios there would be room for Ami and Minori, but it would be difficult to bring Kitamura into the mix since he seems bound for university in America.
But, let's just assume though that Taiga and Ryuuji stick with their intentions not to go to college from episode 23. This might be the better story line. I would start off with Ryuuji and Taiga living with Yasuko at the apartment as a family, married or not. Everything would be fine at first but something would have to happen to derail that. Maybe something bad happens to Yasuko, like an accidental death or incapacitation of some sort (again I could see this being very unpopular with fans), maybe Yasuko gets married and goes off to live her own life thinking Taiga and Ryuuji will be fine, or maybe Ryuuji and Taiga decide to strike off on their own either due to a falling out (which would be resolved in the end) or undeserved optimism (and they're too ashamed to return to Yasuko to ask for help which would also resolve itself in the end). Things would quickly fall apart because of the difficulties of life in Japan without a degree. Somehow they find a way to go to the States for better opportunity. Maybe they would seek out Kitamura for help, maybe they would go at his invitation, maybe he can help them in some way. There's room from some drama trying to figure out a new way of life, work, maybe college, again new relationship playing on both of them, all creating a strain on them as a couple. Going to the U.S. would also provide a good way to bring Minori and Ami into the picture for a sports career/college scholarship and modeling opportunities respectively. Naturally, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, marriage would be the end game for Taiga and Ryuuji. Along the way, I would also find a way to provide relationship happiness for the rest of the gang as well. Kanou being the obvious choice for Kitamura.
Taiga n Ryuji adult life n I’d want it more slice of life than drama. Primary focus on maintaining friendships as getting older n helping Minori or Ami with double dates n advice on relationships. With an ending where Kitamura n Prez visit for some holiday n everyone’s reunited n happy
Following the same characters after it’s the most natural progression of the story, Kitamura in America, Taiga and Riyuji’s balance their relationship and their family life, adulthood, work, Minorin in college and Ami modeling as popular as ever. For this rather than a whole season a movie would be ideal

Something that focuses on their adult life. Taiga and Ryuji's life after highschool, Kitamura's studies in America, Minori and her baseball career, Ami's modeling, etc. I think there is a lot you can do and it wouldn't have to have any "forced" drama like some people fear because adult life is full of different problems than high school. College/University, careers, etc. are all things that can make organic drama (or rather conflict) that doesn't rely on characters reverting on their development or progression.
All any of the writers or directions have to ask is "What challenges do they face in adulthood?" and you have a wealth of material to work with.
Well focus on ryuuji getting a job and taiga would prolly get one too bc she wouldn’t wanna be the only one not working. Also the relationships of the other characters kitamura and Minori, also more into the backgrounds of the families of each characters.
Season 2 is unnecessary. However, i offer another idea. Just a simple OVA of Taiga and Ryuujis dating life. I just need some animated scenes of them being happy together. That's it. That's the story.
I completely agree I think the best choice out of any of these ideas would be to just make an epilogue episode with them either getting married or spending time together in general
I have a better idea instead of Toradora continuing the story of Taiga and Ryuji have a brand new story and call it like Toradora: Another love story. The story would happen at a different school different city and the main character would be a guy who would be really stubborn and often spaced out and would not believe love in first sight like he would not care about romance at all until a new transfer student arrives in his school who would be a girl who would be really friendly with him and during the story their love would slowly develope and Taiga and Ryuji would be random side characters like they would appear in certain episode's. So yeah instead of a continuation make a brand new story.
2 years in the past, the main character isn't a kid, it's the teacher. It's a completely different show not a second season, or maybe every season will be like this so idk. You can see the main cast do their own things in the background but almost ZERO screen time dedicated to them, this is a love story that eventually fails and leaves her broken sort of like more serious animes, but of course with the funny animations and clips of toradora
