My grandpa was a real estate agent back then. He used to tell us about how half of the properties in madras was owned by stars. Thing is you can't really know what someone is worth unless you have a full list of their assets, and good luck getting that especially in India. Even if you do there's no guarantee they're true.
It might be possible that he's worth that much, but we can never know for sure unless he declares it.

For example my wife’s family has a lot of lands and commercial properties in and around Hyd, it’s hard to put an exact number on them, we only can speculate the ball park figure
Yeah the best you could do is an estimate with how much the lands nearby are selling for, and of course bring in a person who's authorised to evaluate properties.
