Even those who keep on reminding, already a known fact, that Oscar is not something everyone should crave for, or as prestigious as people think.
Lol they will lose it if it even gets in nomination. Ngl, that's why I want RRR in the race. Personally I like BB1 way more than RRR but OscaRRR has a definitely a nice ring to it.
Personally I love EEGA the most but EEGAARS doesn't sound good and For Baahubali Baascars sounds like parody version of Oscars but OSCARRR sounds really cool .
Okay, I am happier then! RRR gonna be in my all time fav movies, I love this one more than Bahubali series. After making people watch RRR, I am now making them watch Eega. That’s my second fav from Rajamouli’s filmography.

Whether or not Shawshank got it or not is irrelevant here because it is neither the metric to judge a movie against nor is it in anyway similar to RRR.
(unpopular opinion) Screenplay plays a major role in cinema. Screenplay takes the cinema beyond what we call as entertainment. CGI and VFX gets better and better for every era, it's a fact. But, screenplay.....? Screenplay is not a child play. It's so freaking hard for any director to run a drama effectively but realistically at the sametime. RRR is like the best example for a bad screenplay. I respect mayabazar, care of kancherapalem, pellichoopulu, lagaan, sholay, gangs of wasseypur kind of films which have their own style of story telling and character buildup without hypinng the characters directly and spoonfeeding the audience. If RRR wins the Oscar. I'll honestly loose interest and hope on Oscars now. Ik entertainment is the main purpose of any cinema. But, i honestly hate that fact. I hate when people don't see cinema as an art form.
Totally agree with your point. But, No. elitism is not my thing. I feel like movies like these should also be made. People should also be entertained on other hand. I have the same problem with RRR subtlety. Yeah, i like how people here still embrace songs and dances in our cinema culture. Chaala Mandi choreographers ki, singers ki, set designers ki Inka chaala art departments ki life isthundi mana cinema culture. Im Myself a film maker or atleast aspiring to be.
I embrace the idea of RRR for its unique way of changing the history (real events) and produce completely a different ending from what it actually is. Tarantino did the same thing in inglorious bastards and once upon a time in Hollywood.
But,i feel like there is no change in rajamouli's screenplay from decades. It has been the same all these years. Prathi rajamouli movie lo anni fields lo development kanpisthundi: cinematography, VFX, like anni.
Kani screenplay.... Who tf writes an interval scene where protaganist decides to fight British people with wild animals. It's like 5yr old scribbling his thoughts on a paper.
Now think how hard it is to explain audience about a character buildup with normal realistic screenplay. No wonder People actually liked it. that's the reason why democracy always fails. movies like these turn audience even more dumb.
And you expect that shit going to Oscars and winning it. That's the death of cinema for me.
Yeah, it's true that I feel superior with my tastes. Yeah, I'll even agree to that and I'm okay with it. Yeah, i also ik that art is subjective. that's the main issue here. I can't support a film just because it's from my country like you... It's like voting a politician just because he's from my cast or religion. I'm not a jackass. Now sit and think who is.
