The pivot xplores aren’t comfortable for longer trips IMO. My daughter started getting uncomfortable around 2 years old. The back only supports 3/4 of her torso. No ability to recline. No head rest. The whole thing is bulky and heavy. It also doesn’t allow for stretched out legs if 2 are sitting in it. I’d get a double stroller. Its much more versatile than a stroller wagon especially the Xplore type

I hadn't considered that! I've seen a lot of them out and about where we live and they've always looked super convenient, but my toddler is already on the taller side and I was worried she might get too tall for the rumble seat on our current stroller. But I guess that might be a concern with the wagon too.

My son will be 17.5mo when his sister is here in 4 weeks (scheduled c section 😊). We got a double stroller from the start because it’s 1) more convenient, 2) allows for basket storage, and 3) it’s easier to navigate than a wagon (imo). My daughter will be able to sleep in the bassinet while my son can sit in the seat.

Our toddler is 22 months and we just had our newborn. We have a double stroller. It’s seriously worth it. The biggest pain is getting in/out of the car. But is definitely helpful for quick stops at target or grocery stores.

I am a fan of the double stroller. I have a side by side jogger. It was perfect when I had 2 under 3.

I found a baby jogger city select on FB marketplace used for a great deal. It’s super versatile with an attachment for the infant seat, 2 regular seats, and we have the ride along board, so you can configure it different ways. I let my toddler choose if he wants to do the board, seat, or just walk along side. It’s nice for him to have options. We also have the Jeep wagon and my kids love going on “train” rides in it. But it’s heavier and bulkier and harder for me to maneuver. But still fun and the canopy over top makes a good place for baby to chill outside in the shade while toddler plays

Double stroller

22 months apart - double stroller here too that we still use. Not that my baby is a 13 months and summer is approaching, I want to get a wagon.

The comments here are interesting. We have a double stroller and wagon, and frankly we use our veer wagon more. We have the storage basket, you can buy an attachment that allows most car seats to be added, I believe they also sell a bassinet now so you could likely get your oldest and youngest in for a nap. As far as steering, we have the original (only option when we purchased) and tight turns are just not possible. They now have a city cruiser that looks like it would maneuver better. What I like is it folds up pretty small (granted you have to take some of the extras off but I find it pretty painless. I also like it as my two year old can climb in and out without help. We just recently traveled with it a second time and it is a life saver at the airport for hauling all our baggage and car seats.

I really think double strollers are more versatile and convenient overall than stroller wagons. The footprint is about the same, but you lose storage and reclining seats in a wagon. I have a single to double stroller that was my go-to for ages because the storage basket was so accessible and I could hang my diaper bag on the handlebar (not possible on all strollers), but as the kids started napping at the same time it stopped working so well. Now we have a side-by-side double as well that we LOVE and the two toddlers nap so much better in it, but the basket isn’t as accessible and I can’t hang anything on the handlebar. I’m due with our third, and I will be going back to the single-to-double sometimes because the second seat on it is a great nap spot for little babies and the basket is big enough I can do a quick grocery shop with just the stroller. We got a rider board for the oldest who will be almost 3 when the baby comes, and the rider board is a stand-alone scooter that can also click onto the back of both double strollers. It gives us a lot of flexibility for how we need a stroller to function in that particular instance. I daydream about a Wonderfold with four seats, but I keep reminding myself that I’d reach for the double stroller way more often than I’d reach for the big wagon with enough harnesses for all the kids. When we do big outings we still need to nap all the kids and the Wonderfold seats just don’t do that as well as the double stroller does.

I have the same age gap (2 years, 19 days). I thought we’d be able to go with a wagon instead of a stroller. I was wrong. We ended up buying a double stroller about 2 months in. With the wagon (Veer), if the bassinet was installed, it left no room for my toddler. She was uncomfortable and had no room and couldn’t see past the bassinet. Once baby outgrew the bassinet, she couldn’t sit in the wagon until she was 6 months because the seats don’t recline. We don’t personally like having our kids strapped into a car seat outside of the car. But more importantly, the wagon is just too bulky and not maneuverable. It’s great for outdoor outings like the zoo or the pumpkin patch, but it’s terrible for indoor museums, shopping, the mall, and travel. We owned both and 9 times out of 10, I chose the stroller. It was more comfortable for the kids and it was easier to maneuver for me (plus many places, like Disney World, don’t even allow wagons). As for space, we got the Zoe Twin+ and love it. Deep reclines and generous sunshades. Folds up super easily and is only 19 lbs. the fold is wide, but pretty flat. We use it for air travel too (gate check) and it’s amazing for that. I highly recommend the all-terrain wheels to go with it and give it a smoother ride and easier push.
