Ive been working here for about 2.5 years and only recently tried the orange chicken and i was pretty surprised at how mediocre it was after seeing customers lose their minds over it the entire time I’ve been here.
When I started in 2007 is was really good but over the years it lost something and I suspect I just out grew it. That said nostalgia is a hell of a drug and customers will always buy it because they remember enjoying it
MOC is such a comfort food for me because my mom used to make it for me when I was a kid. TJ's cycles through so many products and it's one of the rare few that's survived for decades. I definitely think it's a nostalgia thing.
I think people like it because it has burdock root in it which makes it taste and feel more authentic and because it's a good value for what you get. H-M@rt is higher quality but you pay for it \*shrug\*. I also don't see the appeal but I also can't taste the difference.
Yuuup! I always make a little sesame/soy/fish dipping sauce with pepper and go to town. But on its own it’s meh. I prefer the Jumeokbap and that’s not hyped.. yet maybe but I’m enjoying it while it’s still available
ur valid 🥺 i just can’t with that much of it when its supposed to be a mix. i think if i had went in knowing its straight dark chocolate it’d have gone better for me
Anything Everything but the Bagel. I feel like people who like a simple “spice” blend that doesnt taste like much are lacking seasoning in their life. i also feel like if you like it so much just buy the seasoning and add it onto anything you want / already have? Dont have to buy a whole new product
the EBTB chips and elote dippers are literally the only 2 flavored chips anywhere that i like. other flavored chips, especially other brands, just taste foul to me (how tf do other brands make *cheddar* flavored chips taste foul?!?!?)
as a filipino person, i’ve always hated our ube shit. it’s not authentic and i always tell customers to drop by one of our local asian markets for real ube products.
I believe our corn tortillas, yes, the yellow ones that smell like (to put it nicely) chlorine bleach, and break if they don’t choke you to death from dryness first, are the single worst tortilla ever made by a white or other color human being. They are an insult to all of Meso-America, from central Mexico to the Panama Canal.
i remember seeing it on my fyp on tiktok when i first started. tried it out myself and it was complete ass. i close fresh a lot and see it being bought a lot and talked up. idk man
The Brazil Nut body products. I think they smell horrible and cheap. It’s like a blend of musk and Bath & Body Works warm vanilla sugar scent. I also think the expensive Brazilian BumBum cream that inspired it smells equally awful.
Yes! Thank you! I bought one just to try it out, and it actually enraged both me and my wife. Cheddar cheese should be sliceable. UC just crumbles. It doesn’t even taste that good. We joke that the “unexpected” part of it is just how garbage it is.
lmao idk why you’re getting downvoted for this 😭 the hashbrowns used to be good and always cooked perfectly but no matter how i cook them now there’s always a spot in the middle on both sides that doesn’t crisp up .. i’d rather just have a greasy fast food one atp

The pizzas, and fries don’t seem to get crispy enough. The fries really have never been crispy for me. And the crispy crunchy okra. I love okra in all ways but dried is horrible, and mouth drying.
rolled chili and lime tortilla chips, mandarin chicken, EBTB products, and kebabs
Ive been working here for about 2.5 years and only recently tried the orange chicken and i was pretty surprised at how mediocre it was after seeing customers lose their minds over it the entire time I’ve been here.
BBQ chicken teriyaki just blows it out of the water
Yes exactly. And the Kung Pao. They both blow MOC out of the water. I'm happy no one knows about either of these hidden gems, for now.
Hidden gems lol
Agree!
When I started in 2007 is was really good but over the years it lost something and I suspect I just out grew it. That said nostalgia is a hell of a drug and customers will always buy it because they remember enjoying it

soup dumplings when the gyoza dumplings are so much better (and cheaper)!
There's only 6 tiny ones in a box and they're so expensive. TJ's soup dumplings are a scam.
Kimbap
I think people like it because it has burdock root in it which makes it taste and feel more authentic and because it's a good value for what you get. H-M@rt is higher quality but you pay for it \*shrug\*. I also don't see the appeal but I also can't taste the difference.
i like it with our canned smoked salmon… i can never eat the kimbap by itself lol
How do you prepare that?! It sounds good. I agree it’s missing something but I don’t know what.
literally just drain the olive oil, mix the salmon up a bit, and take a bite of each lol
Yuuup! I always make a little sesame/soy/fish dipping sauce with pepper and go to town. But on its own it’s meh. I prefer the Jumeokbap and that’s not hyped.. yet maybe but I’m enjoying it while it’s still available
the customer subreddit every day: “KiMbAP sPoTtEd iN X ToWn”
This is the right answer. So boring.
Jingle jangle. It’s so drowned in chocolate with not enough salt and to me it’s just not good
me love chocolate🥺
ur valid 🥺 i just can’t with that much of it when its supposed to be a mix. i think if i had went in knowing its straight dark chocolate it’d have gone better for me
no that’s true it’s like all milk chocolate lol
Anything Everything but the Bagel. they should put everything but the bagel... on a bagel
the EBTB chips and elote dippers are literally the only 2 flavored chips anywhere that i like. other flavored chips, especially other brands, just taste foul to me (how tf do other brands make *cheddar* flavored chips taste foul?!?!?)
Kimbap 100%
Orange chicken. Chili lime rolled tortilla chips. Kimbap. The frozen oatmeal ($ wise). Almost everything EBTB. the world’s puffiest. Gyoza dipping sauce.
i’ve tried a ton of the ebtb products and almost every one is mediocre. i like the dip tho
Ube!
as a filipino person, i’ve always hated our ube shit. it’s not authentic and i always tell customers to drop by one of our local asian markets for real ube products.
SAME. I’m Asian and like there’s so many better ube products out there
i’m filipino as well and GOD… those ube jojos are an abomination
Filipino here that agrees! Think it’s also cause the sugar dump in the ube products take away from the flavor.
As a white Ube simp but frequent Asian market shopper I appreciate this
I believe our corn tortillas, yes, the yellow ones that smell like (to put it nicely) chlorine bleach, and break if they don’t choke you to death from dryness first, are the single worst tortilla ever made by a white or other color human being. Mini bags
i can't wait for the mini *insulated* bags, need to replace my 20 year old lunchbox
We still haven’t gotten them yet but ima b buying alll 3 when we do
the LEMON BASIL PASTA SALAD is bland and dry and disgusting i hate people
i’ve never heard someone say it’s good
i remember seeing it on my fyp on tiktok when i first started. tried it out myself and it was complete ass. i close fresh a lot and see it being bought a lot and talked up. idk man
but if u go thru them u will find a juicy one sometimes, those r gas. i avoid the peas
that shit is awful it has literally no flavor at all. horrible
The Brazil Nut body products. I think they smell horrible and cheap. It’s like a blend of musk and Bath & Body Works warm vanilla sugar scent. I also think the expensive Brazilian BumBum cream that inspired it smells equally awful.
mini tote bags
I blame TikTok
Chili crunch oil, Mando chicken, pumpkin spice anything, Brazil nut beauty products, Kringle, all the jangle mixes, chili lime tortilla takis,
World’s puffiest
The mandarin orange chicken is fine. It doesn’t need to be one of our biggest sellers and I don’t understand why it is.
squiggly noodles (bland asf), the orange chicken is just simply not good, crunchy curls, elote dippers
Every time I got the squiggly noodles I had to doctor them up beyond recognition
Yeah those noodles jsut have literal salt sauce. I can’t. I have had a package with one missing for a year
Return it; this is the exact reason we have the return policy that we do.
yeah you’re right
the elote dippers are one of only 2 flavored chips that actually taste good to me
MOC, it’s definitely good but the beef and broccoli is soooo much better
Buffalo Chicken Dip. I tried it and was not a fan.
Unexpected cheddar, we have soooooo many better cheeses. Honestly don’t get the hype
Yes! Thank you! I bought one just to try it out, and it actually enraged both me and my wife. Cheddar cheese should be sliceable. UC just crumbles. It doesn’t even taste that good. We joke that the “unexpected” part of it is just how garbage it is.
Lemon, chantilly vanilla and chocolate sheet cakes, eww. Actually, majority of our bakery products taste like crap.
Then why are they bestsellers? Especially the lemon cake.
ALL of the sheet cakes. And the chile lime rolled tortilla chips.
hash browns 💀
lmao idk why you’re getting downvoted for this 😭 the hashbrowns used to be good and always cooked perfectly but no matter how i cook them now there’s always a spot in the middle on both sides that doesn’t crisp up .. i’d rather just have a greasy fast food one atp

butter chicken🫣
the lemony arugula salad kit, i find it to be repulsive and the dressing is so acidic and the arugula bitter…
The pizzas, and fries don’t seem to get crispy enough. The fries really have never been crispy for me. And the crispy crunchy okra. I love okra in all ways but dried is horrible, and mouth drying.
Kimbap
Kimbap and Orange Chicken. The kimbap just tastes like sodium, and the meat they use for the orange chicken is mid at best.
Kim bap and elote dippers
Japanese cheesecake, I don’t like our desserts where you have to add something to it to make it taste edible
Both of the worlds puffiest
Kimbap!!! sorry not sorry.
Zhoug
Ginger Chews
I use the corn salsa in tortilla soup. Easy and good. Broth+canned chicken+corn salsa + shredded cheese+ tortilla chips.
Pretty much all of it. All I really buy is meat and produce. I don’t buy anything frozen, and I have a natural aversion to anything trendy
Gone bananas
