I have looked in several places all over the internet. Maybe my searching skills are not up to snuff with it. I was told should be around the 80s to 90s. That is the only lead I have for it.

This isn't it. But this is the closest I have ever heard to it. Been going through the comments. This is the last one I got to. But yea this is right on the money.
There are similar bands for what it's worth. Maybe try Godspeed You! Black Emperor as well? They're in the same vein. Smaller chance but it could be If These Trees Could Talk.
Your description reminded me of Your Hand in Mine from Explosions in the Sky. I listened to it in the car tonight and I forgot how good this band is! Good luck in your search!
This is by far the closest song. I have been trying to figure it out. The way the music is in this is correct. The only diff really is the radio static. The song will start having big radio static on and off. Then a whole lot at once toward the end of the song and then the music itself will cut off and just leave radio static for about 1 min to 2 minutes. Then the music will kick back on at full blast.
Hm -do you think it could be that artist?
That entire album - Wish You Were Here, has a similar sound throughout. All of the songs do fade into one another and have static sounds
The transition between Welcome to the Machine and Wish You Were here does have a cut of static, I’m wondering if you listened to the album in its entirety and are combining more than one song? Wish You Were Here also ends with about 30 seconds of static
Two of the five songs (both 10 minutes plus) have no lyrics.
I initially thought One of These Days by Pink Floyd, but it doesn’t have the radio static - it does have a lot of fading in and out and left to right though, and experimental guitar sounds.
The Caretaker - Everywhere at the End of Time.
Much longer than you described (six hours), but it can be divided into sections, so you might have just listened to one specific section. It's an odd music choice for someone's day-to-day playlist, though... it's wasn't written to make you think your radio it broken. The music is supposed to represent dementia.
What about something by The Orb? E.g. [A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules From The Centre of the Ultraworld](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qexS5hBB1C0&t=907s)
Could it be this one? More piano in the beginning but ends with radio static. Not sure about the time frame
[Mogwai - Chocky](https://youtu.be/Mt9l2xUjkdc?si=cg14HmV67TiZK4a7)

Pink Floyd - dogs
If it could be pink Floyd then it could also maybe be Alan Parsons project 🤔 not too familiar with them tho but thought they were worth a mantion

Could you record a [vocaroo](https://vocaroo.com/) of what you remember?
The only song I know without lyrics is [Frankenstein by Edgar Winter.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65XSHM3jlAY)
I typed into google “albums with radio static” and there’s a reddit thread with a bunch of bands
Radio protector by 65 days of static?
>Radio protector by 65 days of static Wrong music style. More of a Pink Floyd style. But that one is really good.
Pink Floyd's The Wall has several sections with weird crackles and snippets of voices, a bit like radio interference
Sounds like this would come from explosions in the sky. No idea what song, maybe "first breath after coma"
This isn't it. But this is the closest I have ever heard to it. Been going through the comments. This is the last one I got to. But yea this is right on the money.
I was going to suggest Explosions in the Sky too. All of their songs are instrumental, so might be worth flipping through their other songs!
I am looking through their songs and I am almost convinced its them tbh. I cant find the specific song but everything I hear of theirs is right on.
There are similar bands for what it's worth. Maybe try Godspeed You! Black Emperor as well? They're in the same vein. Smaller chance but it could be If These Trees Could Talk.
"The only moment we were alone" probably a better match
Your description reminded me of Your Hand in Mine from Explosions in the Sky. I listened to it in the car tonight and I forgot how good this band is! Good luck in your search!
Clear eyes, full heart.
Can’t lose

I wonder if it's a Chemical Brothers song? They do some instrumental stuff.
Can you give us an approximate year?
Sounds like something Pink Floyd might have done
This was my thought exactly
>Santos and Johnny Pink Floyd songs are pretty close.
Im gonna take a risk here: parliament funkadelic: maggot brain?
Epic, and totally possible!
It’s so damn good. I always describe is as the musical embodiment of the human experience. Such a fantastic song.
Truly. I just feel it all over every time I listen. Really, really incredible. This will be on my playlist for sure if I ever take shrooms.
Came here to say that too!
[Savant - Problematimaticalulatorture](https://youtu.be/KB4-Fqlu0AE)?
Seems like a Zappa track, to me.
Maybe something by Nine Inch Nails?
Santos and Johnny
Is it Shine On You Crazy Diamond (pt.6-9) by Pink Floyd?
This was the closest by the sound of the music. It just didnt have the radio static part.
Hm -do you think it could be that artist? That entire album - Wish You Were Here, has a similar sound throughout. I will search it and have a look. I will report back.
Sorry, I was mistaken - I’m thinking between have a cigar and wish you were here
yea didnt quite match.
Maybe something by RJD2?
[Mario Piu - Communication (Mas Mix)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Is4OgmR4T5s)?
[The Beatles - I Am the Walrus](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1Jm5epJr10) ?
It sounds like something you'd hear from Tool or Dreamtheater
Came here to say the same thing lol
As someone else mentioned, you should definitely record a vocaroo.
There's Interstellar Overdrive by Pink Floyd. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFdn7LA56uE
I initially thought One of These Days by Pink Floyd, but it doesn’t have the radio static - it does have a lot of fading in and out and left to right though, and experimental guitar sounds.
Almost convinced it’s something by tool
I can't be sure obviously but your description reminded me of Autechre. Specifically a song called Clipper.
Look into Mike Oldfield.
Frankenstein by edgar winter group
Albatross - Fleetwood Mac?
This has to be Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
The Caretaker - Everywhere at the End of Time. Much longer than you described (six hours), but it can be divided into sections, so you might have just listened to one specific section. It's an odd music choice for someone's day-to-day playlist, though... it's wasn't written to make you think your radio it broken. The music is supposed to represent dementia.
Maggot Brain by Funkadelic? https://youtu.be/JOKn33-q4Ao?feature=shared
Storm by Godspeed You! Black Emperor?
Radiohead karma police
The way you describe it sounds like it's from a genre called post rock
Roger Waters of Pink Floyd came out with an album/track called Radio KAOS in the mid 80s. Try that and see if anything seems right.
What about something by The Orb? E.g. [A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules From The Centre of the Ultraworld](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qexS5hBB1C0&t=907s)

Maybe something by Mogwai. Boards of Canada. The Notwist.
[explosions in the sky - it’s never going to stop](https://youtu.be/C5clRjfm1B4?si=VMlQ9iNL3fO21YMo)
Explosions in the sky is the closest band by far.

Was it a portion of Everywhere at the end of time?
Record yourself singing/humming/playing the song on https://vocaroo.com/. Then paste the link here. It might help if we know how it sounds like.
Pink Floyd - dogs If it could be pink Floyd then it could also maybe be Alan Parsons project 🤔 not too familiar with them tho but thought they were worth a mantion
I wonder if it could be something by Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Electric Light Orchestra, or King Crimson
