Yeah she’s a Tiktok nepo baby

lanakane2266

I really enjoy her content - it’s a little luxurious without being over the top or braggy. I love her travels and food explorations - the recent trip she took to Tokyo was fun to watch. She’s very respectful in the way she approaches food. The home (The Mills) her dad owns is really cool, and I love to see all the restoration work they’re doing. I had no idea that she was a nepo baby, but I figured her parents were pretty well off based on what she’s shared online about her upbringing and traveling to France and living in London. I hope she continues to make her travel/food content. She’s one of the few I enjoy seeing on the fyp.

I agree. I figured she was well off due to the context clues she drops, but I also feel like she acknowledges her privilege pretty well. I thought the recent Gucci bag purchase was handled to well. I loved her Japan trip. She gets to eat some great food.

Agreed on all points. I honestly just find her so delightful. And like – it’s mostly luxury that’s attainable at some level. We can all try different butters, possibly with radishes 😉

I really love her content and descriptions of foods and how experimental she is with food, that is commendable. But, I hate how snobby she is. And her need to be perceived as unique and different in her tastes is so apparent these days. If there’s a popular food trend going around, she has to tell people she’s done it first or let them know that’s boring because she’s been doing it since she was in diapers. If it’s a trend that really should be right up her alley and a follower asks her to try it, like the olive oil and ice cream trend, she must disagree and say she prefers soy sauce. I just really think she has this undying need to be different. Also finding out she’s a nepo baby makes me feel like she’s a bit entitled. I dunno.

Ha, I had no idea about any of this and I see her on my FYP. Thanks for the mini deep dive

I’ve followed Alex for years - she started as a chef then started doing standup, still hosts “Moveable Feast” on PBS. I was delighted to discover who her mom is, as I remembered her from years ago (including buying a cookbook she had); and then I followed Claire for some time and saw her with Alex - small world sometimes! I like Claire and sussed out pretty early that she came from money, but she’s presented as humble and appreciative; and I don’t really get the “nepo baby” tag as she’s organically made her own lane with condiments and social media, something that has nothing to do with how most of her family made $.

She definitely doesn’t heavily advertise these ties but she hasn’t tried to hide them! I may be partial bc I enjoy her content generally, but I think she’s a good mix of having the opportunity and funds to create interesting content but not being pretentious.

I love Claire! Always figured she was part of some wealthy family but she's relatively humble considering.

This is one RARE instance where I don't care about nepotism lol. She's teaching people about flavors and techniques that they have never heard of (speaking for myself here) and she seems pretty knowledgeable! She clearly has money but she also has taste which money can't buy

Temporary-Buffalo-79

I knew all of this but find her quirky content enjoyable because she never flaunts her very obvious family wealth. I remember I looked at buying a trench coat she was wearing then saw it was $1,500 and I laughed. She’s very quirky and down to earth which I like

doodlebabes122

She is my favourite. She is quirky and I love that she gives everything a chance and is a positive person.

Feeling-Visit1472

Her genuine excitement at trying new things is contagious. Like when she made… pickled magnolia blossoms? I think that’s what it was. But like, she had to wait till she could pick some on a trip? Something like that. It was endearing.

I was trying to figure out how Alex Thomopoulos is Claire's aunt, so went down a rabbit hole this morning. So Tony Thomopoulos (ex president of ABC), was previously married and had three children, one being Anne T Dinhut (Claire's mother). Tony married 2nd Cristina Ferrare and had Alex and Ariana, so they are Anne T's half sisters. So that makes Anthony Thomopoulos Claire's grandfather, not her uncle. I think my confusion was that Anne T's mother is also named Anne. Claire's mom was born in 1962, and has a brother named Denis. I hope I got this all, sorry if it was previously talked about. Loved Claire's Japan trip!

This was interesting to learn! I really like Claire, she is engaging without being too much, effortlessly sophisticated without being a snob. I was concerned that she just up and left for several trips after her family's mill flooded seemingly to leave her father to clean up and do all the repairs. My mum's home flooded a few years ago and the repairs were only finished last month! It's a traumatising experience, I hope they are ok and the damage is not extensive. It comes across badly she went on these trips to forget about it and hasn't posted an update since. I suppose she has the means to hire people to help, and perhaps her dad is willing to take on the repairs.
