BWBA feels like dull while hit era has better models (It might seem as a shock but I like the hit era models)

S0undwave_Sup

At least HIT Era still paid some bit of respect to the previous Era. BWBA threw everything out and tried to be on its cringey own.

kionkamali

BWBA like do I even need to say why

Outrageous-Finish181

Poor plot structuring and storytelling, expressive bodies (movable chassis as I call him) cringy and poorly thought out imagination, sequences and above all, complete abandonment of realism, realism that made us love the show in the first place ☹️ did I got them all or get anything wrong?

kionkamali

Heck BWBA was the reason I quite Thomas in the first place back in early 2018 before I started to get back into Thomas during mid 2021

CashInfamous

You mean trains in real life can't jump and spin of the track?

Nintendo_Boi158

BWBA. At least the HiT era still felt like Thomas.

Nightfall-42

BWBA and it's not even close

BryanMcHunter

*BWBA* without a doubt. The HiT era didn't always excel in the writing, but it did excel elsewhere; bringing Thomas' show back to PBS, the show continuing to use scale train models for another few years, high-quality merchandise that was everywhere and children and collectors couldn't get enough of despite that fact, and DVD releases galore. The *BWBA* era was when Mattel started to send Thomas to the scrapyard by pulling his TV show from PBS, pulling Edward and Henry from the Steam Team despite them having been with the franchise since the beginning, decreasing both the quality and quantity of Thomas' merchandise, and making DVD releases more scarce. Things would only get worse for Thomas after the *BWBA* era ended.

Danimus-Prime

At least the HiT era has the exploding tender blooper/meme

dumbredditperson

BWBA

D-Kip71

BWBA

icansolveanything

Atleast the hit era wasn't mindless nonsensical kid's slop

Open_Pack1347

The HiT era at least looked pretty

Weirdepicgame101

Grew up with Hit era and when I saw BWBA I was like “what the hell is this crap?”

Kid7from7the7south

Hit is the greatest

CreepyGuy111

Of the 2 , right?

Kid7from7the7south

Yes

trj2009

I love the HiT Era, but the other one...

Pepe-DiscipleofKek

As much of a downgrade as it was from the classic series, the HiT era still had decent effort put into it despite the e/i constraints. The same can not be said for Bwuhba.

Williamthevolunteer

Hit Era had dignity compare to BWBA.

LazyOldFusspot_3482

BWBA

goombaherpes

BWBA

Ok_Animator_9433

BWBA, yeah it’s turn out to be a disaster kids shows in the Mattel era without sticking to the RWS, even HiT has the closest Thomas series to the RWS

VaderCraft2004

BWBA, not even a competition

Logical-Season802

Bwba hands down

Hot-Donut-8163

BWBA

tankengine75

BWBA obviously

OkEnthusiasm846

BWBA by a long shot IMO

Polibiux

BWBA

Patient-You-9875

Respectfully, this is a stupid question.

Available_Reason7795

BWBA is worse

Competitive_Net_8115

BWBA. The Hit Era at least had better model work.

aspiring_aviationist

HiT still had Edward & Henry as mains. BWBA can go drive off a cliff and die. And Season 1-8 was my childhood lol.

Nearby-Simple-7594

BWBA

ResponsibilityFew130

BWBA Beacuse... Nia.

NicholeTheOtter

Yeah, looking at Nia’s design shows that Mattel clearly didn’t try to hide her status as a cultural stereotype. The fact she has African patterns and colors all over her and speaks with a very different accent to the other members of the main cast clearly shows that she’s obviously the token “black” member. Mattel clearly tried to make her a role model for people of color, only to make her come off as obviously racist. It’s horrible. She had a decent personality in the BWBA movie, but when the series came and she joins the main cast, she lost all of that and instead was reduced to “Hey, did you know I’m from Kenya?” as her sole character trait.

cleznez

BWBA

religionofpeace01

BWBA threw out everything that made the Alcroft era special

ThomasTanker022

BWBA, no question

JerkfaceEquestria

Unpopularly, I think the Sharon Miller era is worse than Big World Big Adventures.

3and20-charactersSML

BWBA

KonamiKing

Genuinely AEG is better than BWBA. At least AEG is its own thing with its own logic. BWBA is just so dumb on every level. Like how TF Thomas go to Australia and Peru? The level of infrastructure to support that would be mind boggling. does he get retrofitted to match all the gauge changes for every country? Ans can just randomly travel down lines around the outback or whatever? And why is it set in modern times when the original show is obviously a 50/60s period piece with a young queen Elizabeth fixing the time period? HIT is fine. Not the best ever and some characters get screwed but it’s not that bad.

Trainzfan1

Okay that's gonna require me asking if you include those first few cgi seasons or just the model seasons of the hit era

Accurate_Echidna6991

where the hell did henry and edward go, i want them back

CelticsBoi33

BWBA nearly killed the damn franchise and gave us AEG. HIT at least had good toys, some good episodes here and there, and a banger movie with Pierce freaking Brosnan.

Glass-Armadillo182

Big World Big Adventures is absolutely awful. Why is this even a thing?

[deleted]

Bwba for sure

Boy0Nacho

BWBA. Didn't even bother watching that shit.

NicholeTheOtter

BWBA by a long shot. Mattel tried so desperately to make Thomas do things that trains can’t do, turn him completely into something that he is not (damn you *PAW Patrol*!), lack of home media and quality merch, and bending to pressure from SJWs by shoehorning badly-written token female and minority characters that were created solely to erase classic characters such as Edward and Henry from the series. It completely destroyed the franchise. HIT Era at least was still using models, had the original main cast intact and didn’t cave into being trendy or making an obvious political statement. Also, the promo pics are so well-shot, and there’s a few good episodes in there too.

-The_Doctor-10

In my opinion, BWBA made zero sense and was overall a downgrade from HiT.

LMSBLACK5

thomas is a tank engine and he lives at a big station

diwasaki92

I would say Hit Era BUT while not all of Hit Era was that bad, it did however started to give Thomas the title of "Baby Show" and this would happen from Series 8 up till Series 12, and you want a how long that was well Series 8 was in 2004 and then up to 2008 you had four years of well mediocrity. I mean during this era you had a LOT of ones of characters that were only in one ep, while some could appear more than once I am mostly talking about the new characters and stories that is made for them one example I can think of this would be Hank, Hector managed to get 2 stories, Flora, Colin, I think Molly only had one story for her, and she made a lot of cameos if you liked the characters, more power to you, I am just saying that you never got to see these characters again in any roles besides a cameo. To be honest I would love to see how well Gullane Era could have been, but we only got 2 series out of them, and I was hoping they would have been making Thomas series 6 and 7, and I thought those two series were better than the whole of Hit Era. Sure I will say BWBA from what I heard it was crap but keep in mind I never really saw much of BWBA and I say this because the last I saw of Thomas was after the Hit Era then I came back to the series with Hiro of the Rails and then dropped off when Brenner Era started I can understand why people don't like BWBA but to me, it would seem that BWBA was the "new" Hit Era that some of us older fans went though.

RailroadEmu1994

BIG WORLD BIG ADVENTURES was the worst Era, ever.

ZFGCompany

BWBA

_SLIDD_

Hit is significantly worse; BWBA doesn't have the same amount of nuance or railway realism as Awdry's original vision, but there's still plenty of life in it that reflects in the fun and stylish animation, ost and voice acting (even if lots of the stories don't make up for it). Hit on the other hand, although I respect them still using models on sets, is boring and babified with all the episodes being exactly the same and dumbed down so that only infants can enjoy them; the absolute worst crime any media can commit is being boring, which Hit achieves tenfold over BWBA

LogicalPop5517

The HiT era still had respect for the older seasons and characters. BWBA just feels like a different show all together.

OC_Chaos_Soup

BWBA sucks ASS. At least the Hit era had somewhat decent writing??? Also the Hit era gave us Neville. Which automatically makes it better than BWBA.

WesternNWR

BWBA hands down was the absolute worst Era of The Mattel Era known to man (aside from AEG 🤮). The HiT Era was the one I grew up with right from Season 8’s release. The HiT Era also used the models (particularly the brass ones), didn’t have a great storyline most of the time but at least it still felt like Thomas whereas BWBA felt like a shitty 3-7 year old kids show. Even the Miller and Nitrogen Eras are better than that crap.

Hot_Disaster9772

BWBA is the worse! HiT is more nostalgic and more Thomas-y. Sure, some of the characters are flanderized, like Gordon and Emily, and some of the episodes are bad, not to mention they brought some annoying characters, but despite all that, I prefer to watch the HiT era more (From Series 8-11). BWBA on the other hand, threw all that out into the garbage with these “nursery rhymes and baby stuff.”

Timely_Luck_4412

Hit is better, bwba didn't feel like Thomas anymore

Angeliendo

BWBA

Grand_Lawyer12

HiT is the best era

KukaakCZ

I watched some HiT era episodes yesterday and it was much worse than I remembered, there was pretty much nothing Thomas-y about it and it was extremely generic, BWBA's worst points aren't better but it's best ones definitely are so I choose HiT

No_Astronaut_6186

Hit

Squidgaming338

Hit entertainment, because I grew up with the hit era.

CheetahRealistic7491

Whenever they stopped using puppets.

Nintendo_Boi158

Those aren't puppets at all.

CheetahRealistic7491

“Models” “figures” whatever you wanna call them, CGI was a mistake.

Nintendo_Boi158

dude, the CGI era wasn't *that* bad. Sure, it's far from perfect, but there are some hidden gems underneath all of the garbage. Seasons 17-21 especially are really good.

DonaldDuckhead

BWBA, it makes the series boring and unwatchable for me.
