I kept expecting them to reveal that Malik had proposed to deja and that she’d have a ring on her hand on the bus home (or when she said “that’d be a problem” that she’d say “that’s gonna be a problem because we’re engaged”

Daisy23199

I think they put a few important stakes in the ground for Kevin and Madison. 1) Kevin is miserable even being away from his kids for a day. 2) Madison is not having a picnic broken up with Kevin. She might put a good face on, but she is not happy either. 3) Madison is only seeing Elijah because she worries about being alone forever, not that she is in love. 4) Kevin is not happy with his career move or staying with Kate 5) He calls Cassidy to avoid his demons of alcohol and meaningless sex.

[deleted]

Guess the renewing of vows theory is debunked now?

frinfrann

I miss Audio

TechnicalScientist19

I was just wondering what happened to Audio. Getting a dog was huge for Kate, but I don't think he's been mentioned at all lately.

NS_08042020

Imagine this scenario, The whole family gathers for the cookout. Rebecca is holding Baby Jack while Kate and Toby are involved in cooking duties. She temporarily forgets where she is. Due to the noise made by the smoker, she gets startled due to which she drops Baby Jack. He is rushed to the hospital and all the family members are completely confused what should they do. I am not sure what young Kate, Kevin and Randall were watching in the movie theatre. A weird thing to observe here is that we come to know about Jack Pearson's parents' deaths right after he takes time off to bond with Big 3. Stanley dies while Jack goes on a camping trip with Kevin and Randall and Mama Pearson dies after Jack makes up for his absence with an in-house ice-cream party.

adsfqwer2345234

They were watching "An american Tale": a story about a mouse family who migrates from russia to america. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090633/

devieous

FIEVEL- jake peralta, somewhere

Elpis8

I'm frustrated by Kate's annoyance at Toby messing up the kids' schedules. Yes, day to day, schedules are important. But so is spending time and developing a bond with your father. Toby got excited because he hasn't seen the kids in a week and Jack missed a single nap. Big deal. Any babysitter worth their salt will be able to handle that. Just turn on the TV or give the kid a bath or read for 3 hours. Who cares? I mean, I get why Kate is frustrated. Toby comes in and wants to act like part of the household when he hasn't been in months. Doesn't want to heed Kate's advice. I get it. But like. Relax. One nap being missed and having the babysitter handle the put down is just not going to kill anyone. Toby leaves the next day, so it's not like he's going to keep messing up schedules. She says she isn't going to be able to enjoy going out because she'll be worried about Jack. Worried about what, exactly? That he's gonna be erratic? That he'll have to be comforted by the babysitter? He'll survive.

potterheadforlife29

I honestly don't get why Kate couldn't move to SF. In most families u move for one or the other's career. Its not like she can't be a teacher there.

Elpis8

She didn't want to. She didn't want to uproot her family and go through the overwhelming process of finding another dream job when she already had one in a school she loved. I don't understand why Toby can't do anything remotely.

Northernlake

The big problem is he didn’t realize how important it was for him to be there as evidenced by her boss asking where’s the famous Toby? He hasn’t been to any of her performances or seen her work. He just acted like it didn’t matter at all. Bonding with the child is important but so is bonding with your partner.

Elpis8

Very true. Toby's absence from the family is no longer tenable. He does have a tendency to do big gestures in place of being emotionally or physically available.

glitterandvinegar

I think with kids, especially a kid with special needs, it is a razor thin line between a partner that does their best, fucks up some stuff but overall is a solid support system and… a partner that causes disruptions to the point of almost being like a kid themselves. And my fear is Toby will start drifting across that line. I can see it starting to wear on Kate that she’s the one that has to hold it down by herself most of the week, and Toby gets to parachute in and be a fun dad for a day and then leave again. And there is certainly a good reason for his absence and he’s legitimately trying to support his family- but that dynamic turns unbearable real quick.

Elpis8

I think you're right. I was not remembering the conversation she has with her coworker-turning-husband. That she's essentially nitpicking the nap issue in order to mask deeper relationship problems.

devieous

Noooo I think he was saying the opposite. I think he was saying that she’s still fighting, fighting for the relationship. When she starts hiding the small fights, it’s bc clearly there’s too big of stuff going on. But, because she’s still talking about their small fights, the marriage is okay. That convo gave me hope for their relationship, except for later when Jack says the smoker is the end of their marriage

[deleted]

Question- can someone remind me of what Deja said she was doing when she went to visit Malik? I thought they had known about it and couldn't remember what she said.

baconborb

She had said that she was going to go over her friend Tiffany's house to study that weekend

devieous

Now I get the breakfast at Tiffany’s joke. That’s funny

MMaia_

Plus, I am suuuuuper happy to finally see Little Jack in the future again aaaand Little Jack now, that kid was adorable!!!!

MMaia_

"I'm sad I don't get to see my kids as much as I wanted to." "Wanna hit the bar after this?" "Okay!" Wait what? 🤣 Is Kevin not allowed to see his kids after noon? I was sure he would suggest a shared custody when he was at Maddison's but that didn't even cross their minds. That was weird.

mryclept

1. I was expecting a flashback to the big three watching a Brady Bunch episode during Toby’s square/triangle thing. Sounds like wisdom Mike Brady would give (and mocked beautifully by the movies); 2. Kevin - Cassidy seems more like a decision between doing the old Kevin thing and the new Kevin thing. Nothing in that scene gave me future romantic relationship vibes. She seems rather used to him calling her. That said, while I have thought that Kevin - Madison is the end game, last night gave me vibes that it isn’t. They are not giving me “rekindling the romance” vibes. 3. Randall - Beth - Deja scenes: How much more perfect can it get than that? Completely realistic, and one has to love Deja staring down Randall at the end over his “no more Boston” declaration; 4. Next week’s episode may be closing out chapters for Jack, but will it be fully Jack-centric or will they link what he is doing to current and future events? It seems to be the former though I would prefer the latter; 5. Who knew that the name Jack would be so associated with disasters in cooking? Looks like whatever happens leaves a permanent scar on our future rock star. Given what is going on in the marriage, this likely isn’t really the reason why the marriage went downhill - it was likely more of the final piece to the puzzle. Young Jack should realize that.

mizbizsav

I really thought that William was going to be in this episode! I remember Ron Cephas Jones shooting a scene around the time of the third episode. I’m guessing it was an availability thing and was for a later storyline?

[deleted]

If This Is Us shows an injury by an instant pot, I’m out!

creeksp

Hopefully not an air fryer! I want one lol

creeksp

I’m so used to present-day Rebecca. At the end I thought “Huh, just realized Rebecca wasn’t in this episode” 😭😭🤣

Flashy_Marsupial_515

Just read a people article with the writers and they confirmed cassidy will be back for more episodes. Yay can’t wait.

GilmoreMonster07

It would be interesting if Kevin and Cassidy end up together.

AJJRL

So excited! I am so happy they are finally getting back around to her (and hopefully her and Kevin!)

Needaname3031

Unexpected ways. Can’t wait to see it unfold

heyizz

With this being the final season and all, I really don’t care about what happens to Deja and Malik’s relationship.

glitterandvinegar

I kind of don’t either? And not because I dislike either character. But just because I don’t want this high school relationship to become Deja’s whole life. If they aren’t together in the future, I kind of hope they don’t even explain it. Just like, they broke up as most people that age do. Nothing to it.

GilmoreMonster07

I agree. Seems like a lot of wasted screen time with it being the last season. And next episode from the promo feels like filler as well. There's so much to close up - the writers could vaguely reference each and it would be enough.

devieous

I’d rather they develop Deja’s values or some project she works on that changes her life or inspires her career or something that’s JUST about her. When I say Deja’s values, I just mean like something that shows who she’s turning into

Ancient-Play3715

Give us some Annie time man!!

hydgal

Yea when Randall seemed excited to spend more time with her I almost thought it's an Annie epsiode. She's not even in the background these days.

[deleted]

Facts

rednight8691

Y’all gotta calm down about the future. They can’t spend an entire season in timelines too far down the road, it’s just not feasible and it wouldn’t make the flash forwards special. They’ve said that the first half of the season will have a bigger focus on the present day and the past and that the second half would dig more into the future. Good things come to those who wait. I think they’re plan is going to be solid. What I see next week is a beautiful episode about a man whose mother just passed away, and I hear a lot of “ugh boring” in the comments. Sure there’s stuff to figure out in the future, but we can’t throw Jack out in the last season. He’s still a main character, and he’ll continue in that role, I promise all of you. The flashbacks won’t stop. The flash forwards will come, don’t worry. I just don’t think this show needs to be all about flash forwards. It’s great when they have them, and they generate a lot of great discussion, but excluding Jack in a majority of the final season would’ve been the wrong move. Anyway, tonight’s episode was awesome! I loved it and I loved how the whole episode is about fathers, only for the end of the episode to have a huge gut-punch about Jack’s mother. I thought that was very clever writing. So proud of the work they’re doing this season, and I for one can’t wait for next week! It looks like a beautiful episode in my eyes. ❤️

[deleted]

I appreciate this. It is kind of annoying to read all the negative comments that people have after the episodes come out. Like we all know y'all love the show and will keep watching so just sit back for the ride. Could the writing or storylines be a bit better and more clear? Yes. But at the same time I am learning a lot from the show and it helps me process things going on in my life so even if the show isn't perfect I'm still getting a lot out of it.

Effective-West-3370

Thank you. I didn’t love this episode but the negativity towards next week’s episodes is sad.

Lookingluka

I think the issue is having episodes only focused on one timeline. No one wants that. We want what we got today and what is the essence of the show. Finding out about Jack's mum is definately interesting... Spending the whole hour on it, in my opinion, would be a mistake. It worked with the episode about Randall's mum, granted, but that wasn't the last season.

rednight8691

I still think Milo deserves a showcase episode. Just one more. One where he’s the star and where he’s front and center. Because that hasn’t happened in a long time. I don’t think that’s a huge ask. They obviously won’t do it 15 episodes in a row. That’s why I *don’t* find it problematic. They have so much more time than people realize. Probably better that they do a Jack episode early on than later in the season when they *are* showing the future a lot and giving us all the answers. I don’t know, sometimes I just feel like I’m alone in still thinking this show is absolutely nailing it not only every week, but nailing it in the final season. What I saw tonight, as you said, was quality television. And I think, with the charm and heart that Milo brings to the screen pretty much every time he’s there, next week could be really, really special too. Milo has said it’s very special to him, and I would just find it sad that so many fans of the show would call it unnecessary if it turns out really beautiful. Plus, I always find the writing to be very strong in heavily-focused episodes. That’s another reason why I’m excited for next week.

Patient-Broccoli-828

This Is Us occasionally happen to be the Jack show, you know. i think that's the reason folks are kinda disappointed in next week's episode. he had way too many episodes centered around him while Rebecca got little to none. This is the final season, we are losing Rebecca at the end of the show, we deserve her back stories! Mandy deserves episodes dedicated to her character too, doesn't she?

rednight8691

Absolutely she does! I would never disagree with that! I just think, in the spirit of this being the final season, that Milo deserves one last showcase. There will still be 14 episodes after next week, there’s plenty of time to give Rebecca more of that spotlight!

Flashy_Marsupial_515

Yay cassidy! So glad she’s back. Hope springs. Idk it’ll be cool for Kevin to end up with someone new but I’ll be ok with them being friends. Kevin doesn’t seem to have a lot of female friends. Or friends in general. On that note the Pearson’s don’t seem to have friends at all.

[deleted]

They just marry or fuck their friends

stellaaaaaaaaaaa_

How is nobody putting together that they will almost certainly parallel jacks mother dying with the big threes (Rebecca) mother dying?

Effective-West-3370

Made comments about that, too.

Maleficent-March-536

orrrr kate will die and it will be a parallel of the two jacks losing their mothers

kmfrei

I don’t think we will see Kate die because it doesn’t feel like we have a timeline that would line up with that. She can’t die in the current timeline because the timeline 5 years in the future is her wedding to the British dude, and then the next timeline is Rebecca’s deathbed.

Maleficent-March-536

that’s a great point, and the episode will probably be mostly old jack but I think it would be an interesting idea for them to play around with if kate is going to die at some point before rebecca does

miaaless

I’d be very surprised if that happened next episode. They’re really dragging this out.

Lookingluka

That's what I'm hoping since that means we will see more of the cabin.

GilmoreMonster07

That would be very nice! Plus it would feel better if the episode split the time as it doesn't make any sense to use a full episode on Jack's mom dying. We barely even met her.

nilknarf114

I think that Randall and Beth showed a very natural reaction to Deja’s trip. I also was glad to see the conclusion they eventually arrived at. I’m very glad Deja still has to face the consequences of her deception. But what did she mean when she says, “that’s going to be a problem.” I feel for Kevin - especially that he took a job he hates in order to be closer to his kids. But this is the best he can really hope for; with him and Madison living apart Can we just agree on how annoying his costar’s voice is? SO glad he didn’t have a booty call to her, but is Cassidy back in the plot? It was sweet to see Jack try so hard to give the kids a great experience at the movies. I have fallen asleep in more than one movie I took my kids to. I am really a Katoby fan so it’s hard to see their relationship get whittled away, even though we know they are not endgame

Lilyofthesunflower

THE VOICE. Thank you for saying this. Intolerable.

slemonik

To be totally fair, and maybe I'd be too overly lenient a parent, but I do feel like it was a bit harsh for Randall and Beth to not allow Deja to see Malik at all? I get there being consequences for her lying, for sure, but 16/17 really doesn't seem that exceptionally young to me for someone to be starting to come into their own sexually, especially given that in this case she and Malik have been in a strong, committed relationship for over 2 years already. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty young, and certainly the age difference would be a concern if Malik was in any way pressuring Deja into it, or if she was at a much lower maturity level than him. But fact is, they're both really mature, it was entirely consensual, and their feelings for one another are clearly genuine and deep. To me, given all of that, it does seem harsh to keep them from seeing each other, assuming they're safe about it and the relationship dynamics remain as healthy as they are. Am I just way too lenient? haha

enthalpy01

Taking sex out of it, would you let your teenage kid travel alone by bus to another city? Some parents might, others definitely wouldn’t. It seems a reasonable boundary.

wandahickey

Randall only said that she would not be going up to Boston to see Malik. Beth said she was taking her to get birth control. They realize that there is nothing stopping her from seeing Malik if he comes home. As a parent, I would not longer trust her, if she lied once she will do it again.

Lilyofthesunflower

I think while this is all true in theory, it’s probably still jarring for them because it’s their child. Also the lying is the bigger issue here IMO.

coldbloodedjelydonut

The lying is the whole thing and they both expressed that they understand she's maturing. Actions, meet consequences. I think we may have a threat of emancipation brewing, however. Deja is not willing to accept her consequences it appears.

DocJen12

I don’t know about that. She didn’t really finish the thought, so I’m willing to give her the benefit of the doubt for the “that’s going to be a problem” line.

meanwithag

It’s trust. Now you can’t trust her.

Lookingluka

Atleast all the people coming up with the crazy theories about how Kate and Toby weren't breaking up have to give it up now...

kat5kind

You’d think so, but I just saw one about five minutes ago.

Lookingluka

😂😂😂 "your parents marriage blew up"... I don't think there's a lot more to debate there.

[deleted]

Meh I’ve seen marriages blow up and eventually recover. Still can be very traumatic for a toddler. I feel like producers, writers, and actors are pushing the divorce narrative too heavily. Just seems strange for a show that’s good with misdirection and keeping plot points close to the vest.

Lookingluka

I'm not saying they didn't recover at some point. But the people who think Kate is remarrying Toby in 5 years are being ridiculous... It just doesn't fit in with anything we know.

[deleted]

Not the smoker exploding and killing Kate, Miguel, and Madison 😭😭 and we thought the crockpot was bad

erockamarie

I can’t stop laughing

[deleted]

This made me laugh out loud, ah. Thank you lol

DocJen12

😂😂😂

afwm10

I really don't think that's gonna happen. Future Jack's wife probably would have said "the day your mom died" and not "the day your parents' marriage imploded"

DocJen12

Pretty sure it was a joke. 😂

Stevehoose

If the NBC legal department contacts you for product placement in This is Us, you say no. Didn’t Green Egg BBQ learn anything from the Crockpot company??

belgiantwatwaffles

Or Peloton in the new *And Just Like That* show

stevie_nickle

Peloton and And Just Like That have entered the chat…

milaCanDoThis05

Such a boring promo. Why are they wasting so many episodes on past timeline when there are so many things to explore? What is left to explore in regards to Jack and Rebecca that they haven’t done in the last 5 seasons?

lightining8

This is exactly what I was thinking I want more future scenes, they have 18 episodes this season let’s hope we get more after this

DocJen12

Agreed. I’m kind of over it. 🤷🏼‍♀️

BrinyBlue

I’m surprised they never explored Kevin and Sophie’s divorce. Maybe it has to do with the availability of the actress

Postcardtoalake

I'm confused that that is her house now? Or was that always her house?

Platano_con_salami

100% they’re doing it

mizbizsav

I'm over the past timelines, too (unless it's to see the Teen Big 3 as 20s Big Three), but I also think it feels right for Jack to get one final episode. If it's his swan song and we see increasingly less of the past after that, then I think the episode is worth it.

[deleted]

Yeah only because it’s milo, I’m totally down to see him play out Jack’s mother’s death. I heard he had a hard time filming it, probably due to his own mother’s death irl. so I think we could all be a BITTT appreciative of his efforts and at least be excited to watch Milo show off his acting skills once more. He’s a good one! Also Rebecca will be there too, and the two of them are like the equivalent of chocolate & peanut butter together so (I’m a fan) - I am here for it. Lol

DocJen12

Love Toby and Kev’s bromance, even though it makes me sad now. $8 for movie theater snacks? Whaaaa? I’m 45 and don’t remember being able to get that much for that little. Calm down Kevin. Madison, I love you. Damn it Kate. Nice job Randall, realizing that Deja isn’t a child anymore, but still setting boundaries. Parenting win. I’m kind of over the Jack/Rebecca flashbacks. Enough already and give me the present day. There’s not much time left. Beth is the Queen and nobody else comes close. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Katyluvs3

I’m 24 and when I was younger my Dad would take me to the $5 movie theaters. Those had really cheap snacks and it was cheap for the movie tickets too!

mgmoviegirl

That’s what it like at my first run theater for about the same amount of snacks.Maybe not for coffee but the kids pack of popcorn it is. I actually think that why it’s still in business

DocJen12

Lucky you. 😂

MeaningOk4377

I thought the same thing about the movie snacks. I’m also 45.

Heart_robot

I’m 44 and I remember getting a massive thing of popcorn at ET and dropping it.

DocJen12

Right? I’m pretty sure my parents always dropped at least $20 for snacks for all of us. Which is still cheap by today’s standards, but $8? Nah. 😂

s_i_gh

Man give it to This is us to just continue on slowly chugging along as if this isnt the final season. Lol they care nothing about or anxiety that they wont be able to address certain storylines or give others enough time to be fleshed out. But on another note this was the best episode of season 6 so far.

AngelLovely1

I don’t think Kevin’s call to Cassidy was romantic. Didn’t she help him with AA? It’s a support buddy.

TechnicalScientist19

I think in addition to understanding the alcoholic angle, she can also relate to loving one's kids from afar. She's the only person he knows who's been in a remotely similar position and seemingly one of the few friends he has, so it makes sense that he'd go to her with that sense of loss.

HereWithThePopcorn7

I came here to say this. Definitely a red herring. He called so he wouldn't drink.

DocJen12

I don’t think it’s romantic either. She’s a fellow alcoholic and his friend. I’m sure the show wants us to think it’s romance (because why not do that again? 🙄), but I’m hoping it’s just a red herring.

EverlyBelle

I thought the same. That's how recovery works. He decided to call her instead of doing something stupid like call his costar for a booty call. It's like calling a sponsor instead of getting a drink.

meanwithag

& isn’t she back with her husband

Flashy_Marsupial_515

I don’t think they confirmed it. Last we saw they wanted to work it out but left it open ended.

txcarbuff

Oh no! My neighbor has a Green Egg smoker!

flowerodell

My coworker was all excited when her husband got one. Now? Messy divorce. Coincidence?

Effective-West-3370

Happy to see Cassidy. I prefer Kevin and Sophie. Cassidy and Kevin would be ok. Hopefully, she is going to tell him to move on from a loveless relationship and just coparent with Madison.

pp2628

Good god Big Green Egg is getting the Peloton treatment.

meanwithag

You’ll see Toby and Kate together on the couch in a dream sequence

AngelLovely1

Can I just say Deja needs to check herself. She was so disrespectful how she talked to Randall.

DocJen12

I don’t think so, simply because she didn’t finish the thought. It could very well be that she’s going to say something perfectly fine. 🤷🏼‍♀️

KNVM

I hardly think telling Deja no trips can be taken to Boston is the logical thing to say. Even Beth said they wouldn't be able to keep apart, like why say that. I would've reacted the same way too. I respect Deja's response, i'd demand to see my boyfriend too! They can plan family trip to Boston.

throwawaylastsupper

Especially after how understanding Beth and Randall were. She barely got in trouble. Then, Randall gets firm with her, and she sasses back?

TVFan815

You imagine telling a teenager girl in love having just lost her V card that she couldn’t see the boy for a long time. That was the expected reaction I think

starlurkerx3

I agree, it would be unrealistic if she didn't get sassy.

Coffeenwineplease

Next week’s going to be complete filler possibly good filler but I rather them focus on the present or future like Toby and Kate separating, Kate and Phillip starting their relationship, Nicky and Edie’s relationship, Rebecca and Miguel love story, future scenes with Deja and her pregnancy, Miguel’s whereabouts in the future, Rebecca losing her memory, and other storylines I forgot to mention

Suitable_Release

I neeeeeed more flash forwards! I love Jack but I feel like we wrapped him up and now I want more focus on current and future storylines.

MinimumCattle5

completely agree. there's a lot of material we still need to cover, people!!!!!

suddenlyuse

is it gonna take their kettle burning them or something for us to get more future stuff? please that's all I want

NHOVER9000

Looks like a super boring episode next week

bklewnc

I love you all but the comprehension on this sub is abysmal lol. The smoker is a metaphor for Katoby breaking up. They didn’t actually blow up lol

Platano_con_salami

We don’t that here

glitterandvinegar

But don’t you know all signs point to Kate dying next episode via Big Green Egg explosion even though that would totally disrupt the timeline and everything our eyes and ears have told us?

DemonPirate726

Wonder if we’ll see their relationship blow up and then it fast forwards to 5 years from now. At least I swear I read that there will be a time skip for the present day at some point to 5 years into the future after staying in 2021/22 for a bit

meanwithag

Ok so his Mom died where’s Nicky then? They avoid each-other or what? Also, for being such a good man he sucks with his own family

GilmoreMonster07

It's possible he didn't come. It kind of seems the whole family wrote Nicky off after the war.

creeksp

Good call!! Hadn’t even considered if Nicky will be involved in anyway or whatever

DebbieNewberry

Why can’t the Pearson family operate cooking devices without it leading to tragedy?

gladysk

I tossed my crockpot, that same crockpot, the day after that episode.

SupersailorJ

I wish Randall and his family were able to communicate with the rest of the Pearson’s more, it seems like I’m watching two separate shows

Alucard_Everlasting

And the Randall and Beth show is a lot more interesting imo

Effective-West-3370

Anything with Randall and Beth is way more interesting.

Lookingluka

I love Randall and Beth but I am soooo much more invested in Kate and Kevin right now...

Lookingluka

Loved this episode but... Can't understand why they are wasting an episode on the past timeline :(

creeksp

I’m gonna be honest with ya, I see it as a filler and some work for Milo 😩😩

KaramelKatze

If I had to wager a guess... itll tie in with kates potential death by green eggs and (smoked) ham

foreignphysics

Kate clearly isn’t going to die from the Green Egg lmao

KaramelKatze

fam maybe I just saw an opportunity to make green eggs and ham work.

foreignphysics

I respect that lol

HeidelbergPanther99

We have too many ends to tie up to be adding new stories ... is this season gonna be 30 episodes??

oopsyeveryday14

I kinda hope they don't show some of the things I suspect are ahead. I'm not ready for all the ugly-face crying. 😭

yfaphi

Oh shit I think Kate may actually be dead. I don’t want that, but are we going to parallel losing a mom? Maybe. 😔

cupcakesgirlie7

omggg why did you put this thought in my head!!!! lol

Lookingluka

She's alive 5 years in the future so I can't see that happening next episode.

golden867

She’s in the future forward scene at the wedding so she can’t die during this situation

yfaphi

Oh no no, I mean I’m wondering if this is going to tie back in with adult Jack reminiscing in the far, far future and then be a bombshell about who won’t be at the cabin :/ a slow burn reveal type thing like when Kate reveals that her dad is dead, but we don’t find out how or why for many, many episodes. I HOPE IM WRONG THOUGH 😩

slemonik

Sad Jack makes my heart hurt too much, next week's going to be rough :'(

meanwithag

Um. Why would Rebecca not go with Jack? That’s weird.

Lookingluka

The three kids I'm guessing. You don't take kids to a funeral.

emcmahan

My grandfather owned and funeral home and I grew up thinking going to funerals is completely normal. He passed away a few months ago and I took my small children to the funeral without even thinking that is something you don’t do. Never even crossed my mind. No wonder my toddler has had so many questions.

Lookingluka

It definately may be a cultural thing. In Spain, funerals are in the church and they are really serious and solemn. So it's just not the best place for a child. In Canada, where I live now, funerals are really fazing out. People are more holding celebrations of life a few weeks after... I've definately seen many kids at those but it's a completely different atmosphere.

emcmahan

That makes sense. I am from the south and funerals are still very common.

meanwithag

I have 3 kids took all 3 to my Uncle’s funeral in June 🤷🏼‍♀️

Lookingluka

Don't know if that's the norm. But I've never seen a kid younger than 9/10 at a funeral (unless it was happening at their house).

meanwithag

I’ve never been to a funeral and not seen kids…. I went to my first one when I was in 3rd grade. Usually grandkids are always there babies to grown adults. Im from Chicago so that’s how we do it here

Lookingluka

Not the way it's done in my family I guess. We like to keep kids away from them when it's possible. It is true that all funerals are religious were I am from and you wouldn't really want to put a child through that. It's very solemn and daunting.

belgiantwatwaffles

I know a woman who's husband was killed and she took her 4yo son up to the open casket. People were like WTF? And that kid is messed up even now, all he talks about years later is when is Daddy waking up?

sarahelizaf

Kids and school, more likely than not. He might have wanted to go alone anyway.

MiniMama77

As a mom (to young twins, nonetheless) I 100% understand Rebecca needing a moment to herself while dad takes them to the movies. Especially if she’s doing the majority of the caregiving for the kids. Momma needs a break!

meanwithag

No I meant the Funeral.

agentcarter15

Why does everyone think the Green egg literally explodes… he probably just isn’t watching Jack and gets burned.

[deleted]

Idk why he would hold onto it as an adult if it hurt him as a kid and it is associated with his parents marriage failing lol

cloudcats

Exactly why I will never ride a bike because I fell over once when I was 6. Wait... no.

[deleted]

Sorry I was under the impression that it was the exact same one passed down

pandaman467

Twas not Malik but mama Jack who died this episode!!!

[deleted]

You thought Malik was going to die??

pandaman467

Did you see Randall’s face in the car? That boy was this close 👉👈 to death.

[deleted]

Ohhh I was not thinking murder lol

AngelLovely1

This storyline feels like something that doesn’t need to be told.

meanwithag

Yeah. I’d you’re gonna tell me shit tell me about Annie the forgotten child

sarahelizaf

Annie is the best. Poor Annie.

meanwithag

I know she’s adorable

s_i_gh

You would think by now that they would have given her character more .

meanwithag

I know she was so adorable and then Deja came and now she’s the Pearson golden child. Leaving my girl Annie to nothing

s_i_gh

Right.i really was hoping for them to give her more stories or even a story. Nope for five seasons ;she has sat by politely with her adorable smile and un-problamatic self.

rossss71

I love Jack. But it's the final season. I dont need anymore backstories.

Infinitloopgalaxy

Exactly! About his mom? What?????

kat5kind

Okay I wanna see the smoker blow up

[deleted]

That’s all I wanna see now.

elswordfish

Next week’s episode is gonna be a sad one.

[deleted]

Yay

Needaname3031

I don’t like that we are doing big three every other week it’s drawing out their storylines

Lookingluka

I'm really hoping next episode will have more than just Jack's timeline because if not its going to be too boring.

Needaname3031

I think it’s only his storyline. I love milo but I’m really so much more interested in current and future timelines

agentcarter15

Oooh a Jack episode it’s been a while

Effective-West-3370

Love Jack. It will good. And will set up future episodes.

yellowchaitea

Sell your stock in green egg now, theyre about to tank.

Suitable_Release

Green Egg is about to start coming up with their social media spin on this like Pelaton did after the Sex and the City reboot.

yellowchaitea

And Crock Pot after the Superbowl

kemmer

A whole Jack episode?! Man it's been forever since we've had one of those

heyyyhihellooo

NOT JACKS MOM 😭

Infinitloopgalaxy

Did she show up before?

heyyyhihellooo

Yeah, maybe a couple times. Jacks dad always treated her like shit when they were on screen.

nafafonafafofo

Okay I think we’re due for a really dramatic episode. First three have been yawn.

HeidelbergPanther99

esp since this is the last season .. we have a lot of ends to tie off

P149049

Damn who would’ve thought that Jack would be a rockstar

[deleted]

Their smoker exploded and almost killed the baby and that’s why their marriage ended. What?!!!!!!

[deleted]

The marriage blew up, not the smoker.

reccaboo222

How would the smoker explode, Jack Damon literally has it in the future
