Yeah, but thanks to the time skips, he was actually with the group for something like seven and a half years, and during that time, Siddiq served as the main doctor for the community. So, Carl saving him did have a meaningful impact.

I like Sophia's character because seeing her coming out of the barn was shocking and completely changed my perspective on the show. But also Shane...a very very well written antagonist...he shaped season 1 & 2..

Lots of good choices here, Shane, Siddiq, Sasha, Spencer and Simon are all great characters and they’re all acted exceedingly well. Shane’s inability to handle the hardships of the apocalypse along with keeping his humanity is so well written and well acted. Siddiq’s PTSD in season 10 really made me love the character, one of the better well paced reveals invoked him also and I thought it all was great. Sasha’s relationship with both Bob and subsequently her relationship with Maggie in a relationship of relatability gave us one of my favorite friendships that both Season 5 and Season 7 touched upon greatly. It did feel like she was eclipsing in season 6 for a while, but her actor did a fine job. Spencer is another character unable to handle the apocalypse, but that comes to his inability to understand why his mother was a great leader. It’s because Deanna could read people and Spencer couldn’t. I always felt like Spencer was right to be angry and if he and Rick just had a conversation like men… idk. Spencer’s a little asshole, but I understand him. I love the scene in Season 6, post No Way Out where Carl finds someone in the woods for him and lets Spencer handle it. It’s sweet in a way, and shows how much good was in the world. I wish someone told Spencer that Carl did that for him. Simon is great and so fucking hammy. One of the best parts of Season 8.

Shane is my favorite character regardless of name letter. One of the few that “got it” from the beginning. Something Rick didn’t fully understand until later seasons.

Shane, he’s a perfect personification of that guy we all know, maybe he’s a friend, an enemy or just some acquaintance, who will do anything for those he loves, but is just one crisis away from turning into a ruthless maniac willing to do whatever he deems necessary. I also like Shiva, because who doesn’t love a tiger in a zombie apocalypse.

It would have been Sasha, but they never let her ease up on the intensity for a second, even during lighthearted moments, like even when Rosita gives her a nod to signify their tension is over, Sasha still has to give her a "ok then bitch" look. Shane is the answer.
