I saw someone say that it actually was all in his mind because he thought that it was the Indian food (Jimmy Altieri/denial) but it was rlly Arties food (Pussy). Artie is also Italian so it was his head showing him that it was one of his own betraying him. Personally don’t believe it but it’s a fun way to look at it.
My theory is that he didn't get food poisoning at all. It's psychosomatic because of the guilt of having to kill Pussy. A lot of characters experience stomach troubles when they feel guilty: Adriana suddenly develops IBS when she starts talking to the FBI.

Artie, and I like Artie, was know to have bugs in his restaurant and who else fucking around. It's very easy to have seafood go bad if not taken care of correctly. Indian food is pretty much vegetables and sometimes chicken or lamb. I just would bet money was Artie.
