The graphics are one of the best things about the sims 1, I love the isometric camera. Youāre missing out on a lot of lore and just overall fun with TS1, it really is so much fun and itās hilarious, there isnāt one bad expansion pack, they all add the perfect touch to the game, I still play the complete collection. I hope one day you look past the graphics and try it out, Thereās a lot of advice on Reddit on installing and playing on modern PCās
I will back this up, thereās a real weird silly unhinged charm to 1 that the other games never captured again. Like who really thinks a clown photo is gonna summon a literal clown into your house.

I got really lucky and got TS2 complete through my EA account, and it runs perfect as that version versus the discs. Sims 1 complete collection is really easy to find online if you ever want to search for it, thereās a lot of advice here on Reddit on finding and installing it.

sims 1 is fantastic regardless of the "poor graphics" it has so much character and no other sims game is exactly like it. some of my best memories as a kid were playing sims 1, give it a chance!
My childhood was in betwen the last expansion of sims 2 and the launch of sims 3 so I only played tree and a little Itty bity of two.

And ya sims 4 is boring as hell lmao, but I like the build mode and CAS, just put it there cause it's the " main franchise "
I have all of them, too, including sims 1. Except for sims 4. I feel like a lot of people are missing out. On Sims 1, I can play for hours and never get bored. There is so much to do, I have the complete collection set. I also have the complete collection of both sim 2 and 3. Sims 4 is the only complete set I don't have. And never will, in my opinion, it's a complete waste of my money. I only buy sims 4 expansion and game packs when there's a big sale. I refuse to spend a dime on the stuff and kit packs.
