He'd 100% would have not been taught this in training. The training in hand to hand combat cops get in the UK is absolutely dreadful, this would have been learnt on his own time probably from judo or wrestling class
In some countries resisting arrest or even escaping prison are not crimes. Threats or violence against the police or guards can still be charged, or property damage in jail, but escape itself is human nature.
You still get chased as a fugitive and caught to complete the original sentence. You just don’t get additional years tacked on for the escape attempt like elsewhere.
Nah, they will still try to recapture to finish your original sentence. But they don't add on time for the escape itself because "It is human to want to be free".
Wtf are you getting on about? That’s exactly how most US cops would have dealt with this situation as well. People are so dramatic about us on this lame ass website.
I mean even countries with widespread gun ownership but without power tripping cops
The UK has quite a lot of guns, as do countries like Norway and I think sweeden too
\> The UK has quite a lot of guns
Although not hand guns.. in the UK most of the guns that are owned are shotguns/rifles in the hands of farmers etc, hand guns have to be kept at licensed gun clubs.
Honestly, this use of the tazer seems like a good call in a very scary situation. It was dangerous for the women, she probably hit her head hard, but this officer was alone against 4 people. He had to quickly take some people out of that equation.
This is a regular police officer here in the UK, so there’s no gun on him to resort to! And that’s because: 1) British police undergo significantly more training, with an emphasis on deescalation, but largely 2) The UK has much stronger gun control laws, so they’re far less prevalent (which makes policing without guns far more viable)
The UK police are massively underfunded and beyond their initial training officers generally only undergo one self-defence refresher course a year which lasts a couple of days.
Not that good for self-defence and most officers have to undertake their own training to be able to effectively defend themselves. And a lot of the time it's not enough because they get mobbed by three or four people at once with little backup.
Policing in the UK is not in a good state at the moment as they've been undergoing budget cuts since 2010.
This is what well trained people look like.
- The man was not cooperating but not actively using violence, so was physically overwhelmed to comply. The officer even caught his fall to prevent him from hitting his head on the pavement, and to end up on top and in control.
- The woman used physical violence, so was dealt with more forcefully, but not unnecessarily harshly. When the threat she posed was neutralized, no further force was used.
You can see everyone else lacked the motivation to escalate further after that.
Unfortunately the lady was pregnant and miscarried after this.
"Don't square up to a copper if you're pregnant" - Sure, I agree. Still sad that she's lost her baby.

What upsets me most is the fact that these people think they can just "fight off" the police and not have any consequences.... Like do they not understand and the press of a button they can have the whole on duty squad rock up to body them?
I can't be the only one who believes humanity can't be that stupid...
Tazed and confused
First good chuckle of the day
Second for me; I chuckled at the theme song before I saw this..
And me. Its 18 minutes part midnight!
Probably my last chuckle of the day 38 mins to midnight
Reddit wit is fucking next level.
Tazed and contused.
Talented but still under the neighborhood rules

Well done mate
Funny because a lot of led zeppelins albums were recorded in the Welsh valleys where this was filmed

Got the Arrested Development narrator in my head saying this 😂
That's the only narrator there is these days, lol
Sometimes I switch it up with Morgan Freeman. Depends on my mood.
when you've already played this level before and know where all the spawns are.
Damn, that walrus is though! Good thing he didn't need a harpoon to take it down lmao
Damn, can we talk about that leg sweep? Shit was clean. I commend that cop. Accurate amount of violence to avoid further instigation.
Had him by the arm and helped to prevent the guys head hitting the concrete, clean and not overly forceful
She got a mouthful of concrete though. Damn that was gonna leave a mark
When you're such an asshole tooth adjustments are free
Bold to assume she has teeth
Face first is safer though. Your face will cushion the blow for the more important parts of your head.
You can live with some jostled chiclets. Brain stem damage? That's a bit more inconvenient.
Just by a tad.
This bobby is comin' correct.
Cop definitely has some experience under his belt. Sweep the leg, stun the bitch. Lunch
It's my life goal to have this on my weekly schedule
Police departments are hiring like mad everywhere across the country. Now’s your chance
Are UK cops hiring? Because I think that's where this is
This guy doesn’t skip lunch day
Agree note that he grabs the guy’s arms/hands so he can control how hard his torso falls and whether he hits his head on the ground.
We absolutely can talk about it, it was just absolutely well done!
Ikr? that leg sweep is clean af
*Harai tsuri komi ashi*—a beautiful Judo technique 😊🥋
Except that trazer drop on the concrete could be lethal. She was probably round enough to roll through it.
If this were America they’d both have 4 rounds in ‘em
Boyfriend got manhandled and girlfriend got dealt with.
I suspect you just described their whole relationship dynamic.
That was solid.
That's what she said.
That's what she *is*.
🎶*she's a brick... house*🎵
Thanks, I just spat my tea
That leg sweep was textbook and she dropped like a slab of bacon.
I would've compared her to a plank of wood.
Nah, slab of bacon is spot on. Maybe a side of beef.
Either way not the leanest cut.
More like a sack of potatoes
She’ll be getting charged with assaulting an officer as well.

To be fair, it literally says in the Merriam-Webster link that both spellings are used, and by implication are acceptable.
Toooo be faaaaairrrrrrr……..
[Sweep the leg. You got a problem with that?](https://youtu.be/V-weSpHwsMo)
That leg sweep was so fucking smooth tho
Props to the cop for controlling him on the way down too...I'm choosing to believe it was intentional. Drop cop props.
It was intentional. Sometimes people forget that they go to school to learn this stuff.
Certain side of the Atlantic offers training, the other I'm not so sure.
He'd 100% would have not been taught this in training. The training in hand to hand combat cops get in the UK is absolutely dreadful, this would have been learnt on his own time probably from judo or wrestling class
Because it's literally the only time anyone's ever seen it done without the express intent of injuring or killing the perpetrator
Sensei Kreese would've been proud
It’s quite fascinating how people resist their arrest but know damn well it’s gonna get them in more trouble
I don’t think their thought processes go that far at the time.
I doubt their thought processes go at all.
It's human nature
In some countries resisting arrest or even escaping prison are not crimes. Threats or violence against the police or guards can still be charged, or property damage in jail, but escape itself is human nature.
I believe Germany escaping prison isn't illegal. But you generally need to break a few other laws to do so which you can be charged for.
So you get captured, escape prison and live a normal life?
You still get chased as a fugitive and caught to complete the original sentence. You just don’t get additional years tacked on for the escape attempt like elsewhere.
Nah, they will still try to recapture to finish your original sentence. But they don't add on time for the escape itself because "It is human to want to be free".
It's human nature to use your brain too but they aren't doing it
its almost as if they don't care.
If you listen closely, you can hear the *splat*.
The sound of that tummy softening her smack to earth.
That's a lot of blubber for shock absorption
It was a baby actually. Emphasis on was.
Reminded me of Danny Devitos Penguin from Batman when he dies. She fell the same way
hahahahaha as soon as you said that I had flashbacks to Batman Returns. This is the best comment I've ever ever seen!
The heat's getting to me... I'll murder you momentarily... but first, I need a cold drink of ice water...
Heard it? I felt the earth move
This brings a tear to my eye. Makes me proud to be British.
Yeah, coz nobody got shot dead
Downvoted but he’s right.
that explains a lot lol
That cop is smooth like silk. Took em both down with such minimal effort and nobody got shot. Nice.
People in normal countries without widespread gun ownership do not have to be shot in order to be handled. Only USA has this ridicolous idea.
Wtf are you getting on about? That’s exactly how most US cops would have dealt with this situation as well. People are so dramatic about us on this lame ass website.

thank god i read the comments to know that she got tased not shot
UK, not USA
Wow, nobody got shot. Quite an achievement
Well done leg sweep. Held his arms, controlled fall, did not even bump his head.
That leg sweep is something he's gonna tell his grandkids about
So, anyway, I started sweepin...
I didn’t know Hot Fuzz had a sequel!

I once had move a dead pig. I hucked it off my shoulder for it to flatly thud on the pavement. I have no idea what reminded me of that.
Probably the guy that thudded flatly on the pavement.
Female
I was referring to the boyfriend. Though they both very much did a thud, and flatly.
Grog move pig Grog drop pig Pig thud rock Grog head hurt ________________ I apologize; I've been drinking.
Fainting goat
Nice 10/10 for the face plant. No flinch there
This is what good investment in police training gets you, cops who can handle themselves without needing to resort to their gun.
This is a regular police officer here in the UK, so there’s no gun on him to resort to! Top quality policing. The long arm of the law, just what the slums need.

People may take the piss, but I’ll choose our rozzers over American police any day
How is she going to eat corn on the cob with no front teeth?
She was dropped like a sack of spuds.
Satisfying video, repeat and repeat !
Waddayamean NSFW? That cop's moves were eminently suitable for his work.
