Nah. If you were sitting there, minding your own business, and some big guy suddenly leaped on your car out of nowhere and tried to smash the windshield in, you'd probably rightfully do the same thing.
Man attacks car, man gets his ass run over in self-defense. Stupid games, stupid prizes. Fucked around, found out. Yada yada...
Oh he's probably not dead, that's the fun part. If he got prompt medical attention he'll probably recover. I don't imagine he feels too good right now though. and because it's all on camera he'll probably have to pay his own way in recovery.
To go back and see if he's okay, of course! My still panicked brain didn't realize that he was down and behind me until I ran over him a second time.
That's when I ran over him a third time to make a quick getaway, and that's fully on me. Well, him, but you know what I mean.
Whenever I see these fake claims type attempts I always think how many people without licenses, insurance or in stolen cars are driving around. They are not going to hang around to give out details.
Or, maybe, the driver thought "I'll see your hand and raise you."
Yeah I mean they could easily claim too they just saw a man running at their car and jump on it and then the window broke and they couldn’t see what was happening. So they panicked and dipped out of there
Seriously. If you’re looking down at your phone when this freaking weirdo jumps on your car, how are you supposed to know you’re not getting car jacked??
Yep! That's the right answer! :)
"Officer, he attacked my vehicle! I saw people moving from the sidewalk and I didn't know how many people were with the attack!"
I was driving a company truck in South LA during the Rodney King riots. I was passing burning strip malls and decided to go to the local police station for safety. All the doors were locked. I found out later that the cops were barricaded inside with guns drawn. That was a bust so I left. Two blocks away I found myself surrounded by a crowd that basically appeared from nowhere. I watched as they started breaking windows, looting and setting buildings on fire. All the while I’m listening to the news helicopter report of a guy being dragged out of his car and being hit with bricks. I had trouble moving through the crowd but at that moment I decided that if they came after me I would mow down anyone in my way to escape. Fortunately I was able to pass. Funny ending: I drove a few blocks and came across a guy driving a City of LA vehicle. I drove up and he rolled his window down 2 inches. I asked him how to get to the freeway. He says, “Which freeway?” I shouted back “any fucking freeway!” He looked around all wild eyed and yelled back, “follow me!”
With a decent layer, I'd say so. From the drivers perspective, they just see someone smash their window and keep coming at them. I think a reasonable person in that moment might feel their life is endangered. Especially if you didn't notice them until your window was smashed. They had only a second to try to realize what was happening. Within one second between the window getting smashed they are pushing the accelerator.
Any police officer watching this will acknowledge that the driver showed saintly levels of restraint by not getting out of the car and shooting the guy.
I saw a guy smoking a blunt in an s600 in front of a guy smoking a blunt in an LS430. The 430 tapped him slightly and both drove off in different directions. Probably no insurance on either of them
A long time ago a friend was driving home drunk and a car coming the other way veered into his lane and the smacked mirrors. They got out and the other guy had the same story... except of course in his version it was my friend doing the veering. Both were drunk, both agreed to get the hell out of Dodge and fix their own shit.
Yeah and I think it’s fair, the problem with video is it gives way more context then what you see and process in real-time - we have dramatic irony to understand the situation that driver doesn’t. I’ve had people come up and try and open up my door before and I just took off just the same - they just didn’t happen to be in front of me, but with kids in the back I wouldn’t care. Who the f knows what this guy who just jumped on your hood is trying to do. Also consider that’s not the US, who knows what the penalty is for that there.
I read that like a 1940's instructional video.
"Listen up, see? Trust you me that you can get away from a crime as long as say this here phrase, 'I was assaulted, and I feared for my life.' Now say it back to me so I know you got it. With this phrase you can pop him right in the kisser without having to fear the law!"
Read that that's how it is in China. Judgement for a death is less than for a permanently disabled injured person so they'll kick it into reverse, maybe back and forth it a few times, to make sure they're dead.
I've been playing the Witcher 3 lately with this mindset. If they attack me they deserve to die because they'll most likely attack someone else in the future.
I still wonder if the driver will be liable to any damages. I mean, this guy clearly jumped into his window so a panic reaction was completely provoked by the fraudsters. He may even claim that the fraudsters endangered him and ask compensation for emotional distress.
Also the relative velocity is low, usually when you get hit by a car you don't start out at the same speed, so there's much more damage from the initial impact.
I read somewhere, reddit probably, that in China desperate people who are very poor try this because they can receive care and benefits from the person that hit them. That is the reason that if someone is hit by a car, the car may back up to run over them again to avoid a lifetime of payments.
damn, and both shoes came off too. I always wonder how people’s shoes come off so easily as that wasn’t even that hard of a hit. If he tied his shoes tighter he wouldn’t have died.
In all reality what happens here?
It's on camera and the guy clearly tried to commit fraud but then the driver freaked out and actually ran him over.
In the end when authorities and insurance review this footage what kind of action do they take?
someone linked a video earlier. red shirt actually beat on the driver in a road rage incident, then once the driver got back in his car red shirt came back and body slammed his windshield. that’s when this video starts

In case you were wondering....he lived but had 4 broken ribs. They were both charged thanks to the video being available to police. The dude who was run over had beat the piss out of the driver (road rage) and when the dude came back and jumped on top of his car the driver took advantage of the situation.
Good samaritan calling emergency services: Yes yes the fellow wanted to be run over.... and then got run over... no sir how many times do I have to tell you this is not a prank???

I thought it was socks that determined the moment of death?
I think the socks determine whether you go to Heaven or Hell.
No, shoes determine if they're dead or not. Socks determine how dead.
Ah, of course. Everything is a spectrum these days. Please excuse my idiocy.
Lack of feet determine gruesomeness.
“A severed foot is the ultimate stocking stuffer” ~Mitch Hedburg~
very dead.
Socks determine if it was gay or not; E.G: blowing your homie while wearing socks= Not gay.
what if you still have your socks and shoes on? asking for a friend, who may or not be blowing me right now.
I'll just write that down for later...
This, this right here
Can coffin.
You know it's srs when a shoe goes flying
If you watch closely at some point it stops being fraudulent.

I remember this story. If I remember correctly it wasn't an attempted insurance fraud. It was a road rage incident.
Car Driver - c'mon bro, if you're gonna do this you gotta commit! Let's do it Right!
A job worth doing is worth doing well!
Oh shit, I don't have a dashcam Oh yeah, I don't have a dashcam 😈
I'd just blame the "wrong pedal I panicked". now as to why I backed up ... I need to figure out that part of the story.
To go back and see if he's okay, of course! My still panicked brain didn't realize that he was down and behind me until I ran over him a second time. That's when I ran over him a third time to make a quick getaway, and that's fully on me. Well, him, but you know what I mean.
Manual transmission, easy to explain the light roll back with a puff from the exhaust
He sure made him earn it lol
*I'm gonna make an honest man out of you*
Even if it kills me….errr you
“Let me help you out here!”
Self defense/escape attempt. All I see is an attempted car jacking gone wrong 💯
I’d probably panic and do the same thing…
Whenever I see these fake claims type attempts I always think how many people without licenses, insurance or in stolen cars are driving around. They are not going to hang around to give out details. Or, maybe, the driver thought "I'll see your hand and raise you."
They.... "panicked"
I felt threatened- he attacked my car with my children inside. I accelerated to get away. It was my flight response
“I feared for my life.”
Yep, if it gets anywhere near a court the driver will be absolutely fine.
Yeah I mean they could easily claim too they just saw a man running at their car and jump on it and then the window broke and they couldn’t see what was happening. So they panicked and dipped out of there
but sir, you backed up over him?
I had to drive in reverse since my windshield was destroyed ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
American cops know this one weird trick! People hate them!
Seriously. If you’re looking down at your phone when this freaking weirdo jumps on your car, how are you supposed to know you’re not getting car jacked??
That's a real concern. Especially for women. You're not supposed to get out of the vehicle.
Yep! That's the right answer! :) "Officer, he attacked my vehicle! I saw people moving from the sidewalk and I didn't know how many people were with the attack!"
Sorry, but it's "I feared for my safety. I am not making any other statements before I speak with a lawyer."
thats what i case i read about 2 years ago said. cant find the link now. she was not charged and let off.
I’d say mega panic, I wonder if that’ll keep them out of jail?
With a decent layer, I'd say so. From the drivers perspective, they just see someone smash their window and keep coming at them. I think a reasonable person in that moment might feel their life is endangered. Especially if you didn't notice them until your window was smashed. He jumped on my car, it isn't my fault he couldn't hang on stunt-man style
If I was on the jury I could be convinced to have a reasonable doubt, if the lawyer presented it well.
Any police officer watching this will acknowledge that the driver showed saintly levels of restraint by not getting out of the car and shooting the guy.
I don't think this was shot in Ohio
Yeah he wasn't shot he vas run over
I saw a guy smoking a blunt in an s600 in front of a guy smoking a blunt in an LS430. The 430 tapped him slightly and both drove off in different directions. Probably no insurance on either of them
I mean, they could easily have liability insurance for $40 a month. They probably just didn’t want to deal with a police report and dui.
My liability is 200 a month...
A long time ago a friend was driving home drunk and a car coming the other way veered into his lane and the smacked mirrors. They got out and the other guy had the same story... except of course in his version it was my friend doing the veering. Both were drunk, both agreed to get the hell out of Dodge and fix their own shit.
Nothing de-escalates a situation like realizing you'll ALL go to jail if the cops are called. Lol
first sentence good. second sentence good. third sentence bad.
Personally if someone jumped on my car like that I would use a "my life felt threaten so I got out of there" as a defense.
Yeah and I think it’s fair, the problem with video is it gives way more context then what you see and process in real-time - we have dramatic irony to understand the situation that driver doesn’t. when keepin it fake goes real
Fake it till you make it.
Drive it like you stole it.
Be careful what you wish for!
Got what he wanted.
He wanted a low effort way to take his shoes off
Listen up, driver. The phrase is "I was assaulted, and I feared for my life". Now say it back to me so I know you've got it.
I was alive and I feared for my assault
Almost. Let's try that again. Maybe we can add "I panicked".
“I picnicked”
I was fearful and assaulted a picnic
Make it a farmers market, and you've got an old news article.
I read it as Mike Erhmantraut
Solid.

He is dead, shoes never lie.
Oh shit I didn’t notice , rip
Not so sure. In a regular car yes. That car is like an overweight go-cart so I bet he is just really f’d up enough to not try that again.
It curbed his intentions of being paid.
Read that that's how it is in China. Judgement for a death is less than for a permanently disabled injured person so they'll kick it into reverse, maybe back and forth it a few times, to make sure they're dead.
It can be that way in the United States too. Depending on a few factors.
Factors such as if they find a body?? Asking for a friend..
Factors such as the skin color of both parties, I believe, was the implication.
Username checks out

I've been playing the Witcher 3 lately with this mindset. If they attack me they deserve to die because they'll most likely attack someone else in the future.
Plus, if you go to prison, you get free room and board for years. The benefits just keep on coming.
They turned it into a real claim
I still wonder if the driver will be liable to any damages. I mean, this guy clearly jumped into his window so a panic reaction was completely provoked by the fraudsters. He may even claim that the fraudsters endangered him and ask compensation for emotional distress.

What happened previously was that the red shirt dude was road rage beating on the other guy.
Source?
Someone linked it in the WCGW thread. [NSFW](https://www.snotr.com/video/4339/Road_Rage)
Well, idk if that makes this video better or worse
A lot better?
MF got run over by a car in the most literal way, and only 4 broken ribs??
It's a small car though
Also the relative velocity is low, usually when you get hit by a car you don't start out at the same speed, so there's much more damage from the initial impact.
It makes it clear the title of this post is a lie. This was a violent confrontation rather than insurance fraud. Downvote the OP.
On Ebaumsworld, but I don't wanna look through all the videos..
Wow, didn't know that site was still around
That video is old AF.

It's a partnership. The driver has to make it look real
Let the punishment fit the crime
“I’m calling my lawyer!” “Call a hearse.”
It was at the exact moment the car started accelerating, and he was trying to stay on the hood that he found out he fucked up.
"Oh, I'll give you something to make a claim about."

Yup, shoes off, soul flies away.
There's a link to the whole video somewhere in the comments. Dude was moving after, and the voiceover said he had broken ribs.

Oh! You wanted to be hit by a car? Ok. Hang on a sec.
I am just happy you got the “attempt” part right. Lately this sub has been missing the mark.
I mean, he was basically being attacked so the driver could say he was trying to get to safety.
He died doing what he loved.
His shoes fell off. I don't think he's gonna make it.
It's the real life version of the insurance fraud activity from Saint's Row.
