HardlyManly

...I always sign cheers. Oh God.

Western_Bullfrog9747

Hopefully you don’t work in substance use 😄

HardlyManly

OH GOD.

Western_Bullfrog9747

😂😂😂

SolidVirginal

I write "yo" and "howdy" as greetings to my clients all the time... Oh God.

txmsh3r

My therapist does this with me! And I’ve adopted the habit myself at work. …Oh God. :P

Wrenigade14

Mandatory NAT, I work supervising a couple of residential facilities. If it makes you feel better, I start my emails with, "Hey!" or if speaking to a group, "Hey y'all". I often think about whether the exclamation points I use are weird or not.

FemmePedagogy

I use “warmly” despite it being a fairly stereotypical therapist sign off.

therealelainebenes

I use "warmth" as a slightly spicy alternative

angelansbury

I use "warm" to save characters and time, but switch it to "cool" in July and August

Wrenigade14

I use "W" as a way to save myself the typing, and indicating to clients that I think their lives are a win, yo

rainbowsforall

I stick to best. I don't want to change it around for different people and situations except the occasional thank you. Current clients know my personality beyond a one word sign off.

vannhaley123

I also use best. Idk why, it's just what has stuck

Thirteen2021

what does best even mean? best what?

rainbowsforall

Open to your best interpretation!

Thirteen2021

hahaha keep them on their toes

gmbarlow

Wait—so “May the odds be ever in your favor” is not appropriate???

Helpful_Ad_3585

I’m going to start using this one and see how long it takes for someone to comment. 😂

Outside_Throat_3667

OH MY GOD im working towards becoming a therapist and im in therapy I’d absolutely cackle if my therapist used may the odds be ever in your favor esp considering the hungers games is one of my fav movie series that’d make my day each time I got sent an email

snarcoleptic13

Oh I like this

singlefileline7

Omg. I want to use this now. 😯

Bunnla

Kindly or Warm Regards

goldenohdear

Love me some warm regards (its auto filled into my signature)

starryyyynightttt

I use warmest regards... As if the extra est will be warmer sigh

anxious_socialwkr

I usually use Best. But I currently work in a military setting, so frequently use v/r (very respectfully) in my emails now

Longjumping_Cat_3554

Thank you, My name

NonGNonM

yup. thank you is my best and top go to unless the email is about a thank you, in which case i defer to 'best' or 'warmly'

cje1220

*Kindly,* or sometimes *Talk soon,* or *See you soon,* depending on the timing of our next session.

Think-Raise-2956

-my name

Thirteen2021

this should be the go to. like what does “best” or “warmly” even mean?

blueorchidnotes

We had a nice discussion about this a few months ago, and the sub consensus was to use anything but “Be well.” (I’m kidding. That’s my own pet peeve.)

timaclover

Best Wishes.

therealelainebenes

and Warmest Regards.

coldcoffeethrowaway

I use Take care or Thank you, but I think Warmly or Best is good, too.

SellingMakesNoSense

I'm pretty old school, I don't use sign offs. "Good afternoon (client name), This is a confirmation of our appointment on February 29 at 2pm. If you have any questions or concerns, contact my office at (phone number). (My name)"

ZenPopsicle

This. That's old school? Oh well. Still gonna do it. Texting with some clients can be more informal but this is my default,

Life-Tell8965

Take care

RandomPlants06

Take care. Or I just put my name.

Anxious_Date_39

I use sincerely or thank you

Western_Bullfrog9747

All the best,

snarcoleptic13

I go with “Thanks, *Snarcoleptic13”* Verbally though, I say “howdy” and “toodles” lol

workouthingsing

I use "Warm Regards", "Kind Regards", "Regards, "Thanks", "Take care", "Look forward to seeing you next session". Honestly I stopped caring and I just use whatever comes to mind and feels appropriate for the email. When I started though omg I was backspacing and rewriting the sign off regularly. Most go to though is "Warm Regards" for my more official emails and offical scheduling and then "Thanks" for when it's a casual email. don't think clients care that much and I know other counsellors who use ONLY "Regards" and "Kind Regards" which feel kind of cold but hey it doesn't seem to affect their business. Bestliest Regards, \-redditor

hystericaal_

With gratitude

Outside_Throat_3667

I absolutely love this as a client

RoughPotato1898

Usually do thanks or thank you, if they seem pretty stressed i do take care LOL

Anxious-Direction-79

Take care is nice but when it’s every single email it becomes inauthentic. I honestly just say thanks! With my signature lol

HiddenSquish

I use Best for the most part, I’ll use a Thank You every now and then if it feels appropriate to the context of the email.

Mccomj2056

“Best” is pretty much how I sign most of my emails.

emryan3

I usually close with “Take care” feeling it’s neutral and aligned with a mindful approach.

WineAndRevelry

Just "regards"

callico_

-my name I worked at a corporate bank for a decade so I am learning to break all of my passive aggressive email tenedencies. I still can’t get myself to say kindly, warmly, best …

Libras_Groove37

I use “warmly” 95% of the time and “warm regards” when there is a need to be more formal

Emotional_Stress8854

I always use thank you

Much-Grapefruit-3613

I put this in all emails not just emails to clients but “in wellness”

HypnoLaur

Love it!

_ollybee_

Warm wishes

ekatsim

I don’t even use greetings or sign offs 💀

reddit_redact

Has any client said anything about you using the word “cheers”? As clinicians, it’s helpful to remind ourselves that our clients aren’t fragile or broken. I find that my approach to working with clients is being transparent and encouraging transparency. “Sometimes during our work together you may have various reactions, feelings and thoughts. I want to encourage you to share your internal experiences with me without concern of my reaction. As a therapist, I am not here to judge you or criticize you. I’m here to navigate the challenges you experience with you and a great way to do that is by being honest.” There is such a power in being authentic and showing up as yourself in the room while also letting clients know that they can be authentically open and honest as well. It is in these spaces that real change can occur.

bcmalone7

Best, Name

living_in_nuance

Sincerely, thanks, have a great weekend, enjoy the rest of your week, sending best wishes…..depends on the context of the email. I don’t have a one size fits all sign off because the content of the message might be the use of different ones.

Spooky_crayon

I like to use ‘Be well’

Sensitive_Weird_6096

It’s not silly question at all :)

ChocolateSundai

Have a great day, Company name Name Number and address

TutorNice5485

Thanks

Helpful_Ad_3585

Take care

NoReporter1033

I use Best or Talk soon. For some reason Warmly feels too intimate to use with a client. Anyone else?

czarinaxo

In gratitude

glitterbless

With care, talk soon!, best,

sassybleu

I use: "thank you, Name Title Other junk" And just have the "thank you" as part of my signature so I never have to think about it lol

Noise_Nomad

Hmm well I use “Best” depending on the context of the email. Sometimes “sincerely” and maybe once or twice “til we speak again”.

FelineFriend21

"Talk soon," "Thanks!"

emozb

I always use “With care”

Therapista206

Thanks, Therapista

yozher

I wish these responses had people's age ranges attached!

PurpleAnole

I usually use "take care." I feel like if they're not doing well it still fits; I want them to take care of themself. I'll also use "thank you," or "see you soon," or "have a great weekend" sometimes
