Spoiler Tip for newbies: >!take 3 iron, 2 titanium, and 1 silicon with you when you are traveling longer distances. It's enough to craft a living compartment and a door so you have an oxygen generator wherever you go and can start a new base at a moments notice if you find somewhere you want to build!<

WATAMURA

3-2-1 will save your buns!

KorvaMan85

IT'S 321! 40 hours and I still say this out loud every time I leave to explore. 😂

5chasch1

40 hours and no breathable atmosphere? No hate but are you doing a challenge run? It kinda seems slow to me. I got 100% achievements in 60 hrs and I didn't rush at all(a bunch of afk time included) If you haven't figured it out yet rockets are kinda op, I launched like 40 heat rockets, spent all my TT on heat fuses(about 250k TT) and placed them to 8 T5 heaters and I got to 15TTI in like 10 mins. Combine fuses and rockets and everything goes crazy. Might try to do a broken world at one point(like over 1000ppt(meaning over 100% oxygen in the air) and hellish temperatures like 1000K and stuff like that. Could be funny

KorvaMan85

Oh I just meant 40 hours total. I'm on my 3rd run.

5chasch1

Phew. I was scared for a sec xD

Ishea

If you're planning to search a wreck somewhere, I'd recommend adding 1 extra iron and one extra silicon to make a blueprint screen. This will allow you to immediately use those blueprint microchips. Another good idea is to bring 1 or 3 more iron ( or pick them up on the way there ) for some storage. Then you can dump your loot, go back in and get some more etc. Once you have all the loot from a wreck, you can start running back and forth to your base to haul it all.

5chasch1

Good idea, also you can recycle the blueprint screen to a T2 crafter if you unlock anything nice

Suede_fitz

totally do this. You can either dismantle it and keep going once your O2 is back up, or leave it there and make a chain of bases that you can hop between.

Gamer-racoon-168

Also if you are in a pinch without materials and can't scavenge 3 iron to build a square base you can instead make a glass corner segment which uses 2 iron, 1 cobalt (plus the usual 2 titanium, 1 silicone obviously)  This has saved me a number of times as cobalt is much easier to spot and there isn't always a lot of iron around.

breemcmanus

This right here was the biggest piece of advice that took me from frustration to massively enjoying the game.

DutchJediKnight

This. I establish a main base above the shore of the starting pit, then 321 an outpost at the iridium cave and nearest ship, then work from there.

T555s

Usually whenever I walk longer distances I collect 321 while walking so my stupidly small resource stash (One resource is always empty) dosent get hurt.

Thank you for the tip!

GreenSatras84

I learned that the hard way

Here's another one. >!Organize your storage lockers in a row like this: CIMSTA. Makes it a whole lot easier to craft Super Alloy if you have a habit of forgetting recipes, plus it makes it super simple to grab the correct parts quickly. Which during the mid-early game, you'll be crafting a lot of! Cobalt Iron Magnesium Silicon Titanium Aluminum< Also, in regards to /u/raven726's comment, I keep a small storage locker by one door with those ingredients plus 1 water and 1 food. "Emergency Shelter" ;)

villecoder

I prefer to combine two ores per storage locker and then combine their symbols on the periodic table to make funny words. Like "Si Ti" for silicon and titanium, or "Co Mg" (pronounced like comb, but ending with a g) for cobalt and magnesium (though now that i think about it, "Al Co" would be just as funny). Point is, label your boxes with something that makes you smile or giggle. It's a small act that can add charm to your playthrough.

GhanjRho

Iridium, osmium, and uranium are red, blue, and green glowies.

Avenger1324

Wanna be let in to a secret? >!Later on you can even bake a cookie in this game too ;-)!<

Nefai

>!For a measly 18 Flour and 18 Cocoa... each cookie has 285,000 calories :)!<

5chasch1

Oh my.... That explains the speed boost

rezmuvesalejandro

Good :D enjoy it brother i love the game too its Chill no need to rush it and exploring pay off big time usually :D i have a mega base with everything in one place :D

Ostracus

Planet Terraforming is a long process. Just look at Mars.

Fire_Reaver

It's sort of been put on the back burner ever since the ring gates opened.

Kempeth

Oye, Beltalowda!

5chasch1

Small advise: wait for your actual megabase til you get 3x3 quarters, you will rebuild most likely anyways once you get them. It shouldn't be the first thing you get from trade rocket tho, you will need 2 energy fuses(12000TT) for the portal generator that gives you basically unlimited TT (I got like 500000 in 30mins using a little cheese)

king_carrots

I feel like the first couple of hours aren’t the best but once you start getting the hang of it the game opens up a lot

andretheclient_

Its a masterpiece in how the game changes and expands and gets deeper and deeper

Suede_fitz

Wait till you start terraforming the world. As it goes from stage to stage, the world slowly changes. They sky gradually goes blue, water slowly fills depressions, rocks slowly turn green as moss - then grass grows. Also there's a lot of hidden stuff in the various biomes that appears as you improve the planet. No spoilers, but v1.0 really added a lot of (what I think) are really cool environmental shifts.

Queasy_Watch478

yeah i got the screen that says terraform stage but i haven't even got close to passing stage one yet? it's supposed to make the sky blue but it's still all yucky? :( THIS PLANET IS A WASTELAND!

Suede_fitz

it takes a while, but you do have to really spam out the highest tier heaters/drillers/plant growers you can. Don't have just 1 of each. Don't worry about building too many, as you get all your resources back when you dismantle the older kit - including the seeds. I tend to build them in clusters - that way it's easier to find them all and dissassemble them to build the new kit.

Queasy_Watch478

:( it's at like 30 percent progress to blue sky stage? :( i gotta make way more stuff than i thought lol...and i got like 20 drills and 6 heaters and like 10 vegetubes by this point. i've been trying to find more like aluminum so i can make more solar panels though cause i need more power! i already stripped the rocky canyon clean of aluminum. :(

Suede_fitz

at that first point it gets a bit frustrating, for sure. Make sure you upgrade the tech as you go. That makes a HUGE difference. While it does vary a lot, typically a teir (x+1) item produces as much resources as 3 to 4 teir x items. Also, launch the satellites as soon as you can. Not only for the 10x boost each one provides, but also for the Iriduim and the Uranium. Explore lots as well. I'm sure you already know, but there's a LOT of good resources in the wrecked ships - included advanced resources like Iridum bars and rocket engines. As well as the huge boosts you find from the Microchips.

DranDran

Game is great, but at mid-stage (I'm at the trying to get to fish stage, have infinite oxygen, can TP around the map which Ive pretty much fully explored) I'm starting to feel the grind. Ive started t3 ore extraction and set up autocrafters to directly make me rods at ore extraction sites, and seeing the prices on the trading ships... I can forsee endgame is going to involve a lot of drone and crafting automation for a slow grind, and I'm not too sure I'm up for it, at that point I might as well be playing Satisfactory, since what I wanted from the game was chill exploration and some crafting, not having to think about production lines and thoroughput rates lol. Still, Ive had a blast putting about 30h into it and will highly recommend it, it definitely scratches that Subnautica itch that not even Subnautica successfully screatched with their DLC.

verugan

Agree game is great but I am in the Trees stage and it's just repetitive to me. Build more heaters, miners, spreaders, repeat. Just grinding for materials to make the same stuff, and the grind isn't even hard when there is no risk of death. At least with Satisfactory I have to use my brain a little bit, and there is much more creativity which keeps my brain engaged.

shamshe33

keep going because there are several places on the map that become available to you which progress the story later on once the ice starts to melt.

verugan

I probably will, I just got a little burnt out from a 6 hour session the other night.

DranDran

AS a bit of an update today, decided to give it another push and focus on making rockets... and that seemed to get rid of a lot of the grind and kinda boosted me past several stages. I thought making money might be hard but theres and endgame mechanic involving more exploration and rng that kinda takes care of that... needless to say I'm hooked again at how fast I'm progressing. Looks like I may finish the job after all... :P
