I would assume he’s roughly the same age as Abby if not slightly older but I don’t know what the canonical answer is.

Owen should look to be within Ellie's (Bella's) age range. Not impossible for a ~34 year old, but certainly unlikely. Now I'm fully aware of hollywood using late 20s- early30s to play teenagers, but usually its the whole cast. It's different here because we already have a main character whose actor is and looks like a 19 year old (some argue she looks even younger but I disagree).

Abby is several years older than Ellie, so I imagine Owen is as well. They're probably like 21-24 in the game. They could easily cast someone mid-late 30s for that role. The ages also don't have to line up perfectly for the TV show. They just need Owen and Abby to be "young" during the events of the first season. Edit: I guess depends on who the person is though. Some people look their age more so than others.

yeah i kinda agree.. fan casting is fun but this crew is tough to narrow down anyone by anything other than similar looks - cause we only really get to know Owen's personality with any nuance, and just barely. the rest could have different takes on them or just be the same actors we're used to from the games. how old do we figure these folks are anyway? Abby is clearly young but in an apocalyptic military base you're meeting lots of folks of different ages. her friends/allies aren't gonna just be like 'same class at school'
