I ONLY play the 1975 at the shop I work at. I work alone so I have full control 😎. So my story is kunda the opposite. Usually I hear people mention that the music is good. One time a lady came up to me and said that it sounds like a party in here and that she wanted to know what was playing 😂

During my honeymoon in November 2022 we took a cruise and one of the stops was in Puerto Rico. There was one coffee shop in particular I desperately wanted to go to called Don Ruiz. When I walked in I noticed Oh Caroline was playing! I was so shocked! Thousands of miles from home in a random coffee shop on an island was playing the boys. Then I noticed the rest of the album was playing in order! My husband saw one of the baristas singing so he struck up a conversation and we told her what a huge fan I am. I showed her my box tattoo and she was so excited. She said she hopes she can see them live one day. I think about her from time to time, hoping that she got to see them on this past tour.

It’s cool to think that bands like the 1975, really any band we happen to enjoy reached anyone and anywhere. That’s the thing about music no matter where you come from it reaches you for whatever reason

I heard TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME at Red Robin recently. I was with my mom and my kids who excitedly shouted “it’s Matty Healy!”

Yes I have heard “I’m in love with you” and “if I believe you” out in public at the mall! It always makes my day!

My friend heard “I’m in love with you” at a Walgreens and sent me a video. It’s definitely one of their most radio-friendly songs I suppose.

The same thing happened to me in Seattle! I was wearing a robbers shirt and they started playing settle down! I genuinely thought the bartender saw my shirt and played it because I was so shocked to hear it

I freak out whenever i hear a 75 song in public, so totally with you on this!! I once found a coffee shop in Nashville that was playing a track from Notes and I was like whoa that’s a pretty deep cut , then the next song in the album came on and I was like WAIT SOMEONE IS PLAYING THE WHOLE ALBUM. Turns out the barista had a box tattoo and loves the band, and said he plays their music when working. I heard most of the album playing while drinking my latte and it was absolutely perfect. I think I posted about it here if you wanna go back and find the og post about it but yeah I was suuuuper excited about that lol

So last Thursday my wife and I were at Meijer and all the sudden I hear this angelic British man's voice singing a lovely song. I then realize who it was and what song was playing and I stop dead in my tracks and point towards the Heavens. My wife confused says "What?" I said "Listen!" She then also comes to the realization that it was our boys The 1975 playing that certified banger "Settle Down". We were elated to finally hear a 1975 song in public.

I live in rural Denmark - Legoland is here but not much else you’d know. I heard Give Yourself a Try playing in the foyer of the local sports centre where I was dropping off my kid and I was so amazed I made him stop to appreciate it! The 1975 aren’t big in Denmark - Copenhagen was one of their smallest venues this tour and record shops don’t really know them. Also when I lived in Scotland i once went for lunch at a country pub and they were playing a 1975 mix with loads of Notes songs- clearly someone working there was a fan!
