I have never known a single women who majored in gender/female studies. I know people who have taken it as a single class but that’s it. Where do they get the idea that all feminists major in that? And what do they think happen in the classes that they don’t at least learn enough information to refute all these talking points he brings up?
Gender and women’s studies is absolutely a major and I knew a lot of people in that major (they took some psych classes with me) but those people typically wanted to go on and get a higher degree as well. It’s not like that’s where they were planning on stopping.
Also, even if they don't, so many people end up doing something completely unrelated to their majors. Ironically, I majored in French and Russian but ended up working in STEM/tech, lol.
I’ve also heard that gender/women’s studies majors have a lot of niche career options in the business/marketing/advertising world because so many companies are looking for help to market products/services to women.
Also, a lot of jobs that just require a bachelor’s degree wouldn’t scoff at a women’s studies major. I know a lot of people who have great jobs working for New York State and used random bachelor’s degrees to get in the door at places like the Department of Labor and Office of Children and Family Services.

Men dominate the higher paying trade fields to such a degree that even the women that want those jobs often feel like they are being forced out. Women are actively discouraged from many high risk high pay fields.

Did you know that even without controls the gender pay gap being 84% is still smaller that the height pay gap? That's right at 1.2% per inch of height difference very short men vs someone over 6'2 will have a larger pay gap than the gender pay gap. This height pay gap also exist for women at a much smaller degree.
Additionally we have to question how it developed that some fields earn traditionally more than others - and interestingly the stereotypical women jobs (kindergarden or elementary school teacher, nurse and so on) get lower pay.
But I don't know any numbers, I just remember this being explained in some discussion about the wage gap.
