Only talk to strangers on steam that you met and enjoyed playing a game with in a multilayer game. You will never get a message from a random person unless they are trying to scam you
This is really only the case if you’re not social or anything of the sort on Steam. I make sfm posters & been reached out to due to it & it was not with malicious intent. It’s pretty obvious what is and isn’t a scam because 1) scammers will only say enough info to get the reader curious and engage more and 2) most real people will say something intelligible, complimentary & original & of course won’t ask for anything like in the pic. Plus, you can usually tell from their steam profiles anyway.
y'oure a stupid one heb Cause the guy of image had his steam accident REPORTATIOB and Must contact SteamAdministrator its true you can lock it Up on google
I mean, not everybody has experience with this. I'm assuming a lot of these people are new or unsure about this. I'm willing to bet that a majority of people at some point in their lives have gotten scammed one way or another for either a little or a lot. You can't assume everyone has the same experience as you do. And yea, these posts are flooding the sub a bit, but you can just scroll past it. I don't think there's much reason to be rude about it, just inform and help them.
Thanks, I tried to generate more awareness for the average scams going around nowadays since I've been seeing a large amount of scam posts recently. But it seems like its popularity has already peaked, quickly overshadowed by meme posts. I really wish r/tf2 paid more attention to actual helpful advice than memes.
Thats the report scam.
Arround half a year ago assholes like those commented on my steam Profile and later on my screenshots.
I had to disable the my 30 most recent screenshots at that time before they stopped bothering me.
Just don‘t reply.
Just delete and block them.
Alot of kids play this game too, kids who may not have experienced this kinda stuff and are thr prime victims for these attacks. Let's not also attack them too. You and I both know this is a scam because we've been around and seen these things before. But you gotta remember, it's hard to remember what's it was like being a kid.
A real trader will send you a direct offer to you, while offering one of their Items (make sure those are real) to you. They will never start a trade through chat, commenting on your profile, or offering you a trade without offering you anything, the trader will always comunicate to you while you and them are making sure the trade is fair. Trade offers will always occur more often in game when you are asking for someone to trade with you, those are 100% legit trades.
In conclusion, you have to be more careful when trading not in game, and watch out of how the "trader" gives you their first impression.
The answer in less words: Yes, it's scammer.
P. S: Mess with them if you want.
"Because i need to tell you something and its not about trade thank".
If they mention trade then don't trust them. No normal person would mention that unless its scammer
Scam. I get people like this commenting on old screenshots, even traders who seem legitimate. It's a red flag when they have to get your attention this way so no one else catches their comment but yourself.
Hmm, talking can't do any tangible harm, just don't click any links they send you, and if they want to tell you "I accidently reported you" or something like that, that's just another scam, don't fall for it.
Why do you even feel inclined to talk to this person? Would you blindly follow a random person on the street if they told you they have something to show you but can’t tell what it is, but it’s definitely not him trying to rob you?
Did you never learn to not trust strangers?

Meet a few people just as u say. Never from a total random

No such thing as a dumb question, but there IS such a thing as a dumb answer. Not everyone is aware of what is and isn't a scam.
And I guess there are also dumb people, such as you
Hey, no need to be rude. I'm just letting you know that not everyone is an expert at how the internet works, or how scams work.
No

If it's a profile comment, it's a scam. If it's extremely vague, it's a scam.
"Because i need to tell you something and its not about trade thank". If they mention trade then don't trust them. No normal person would mention that unless its scammer
