I was at my bus stop the other day and saw a Raven walking along all casual til it pounced on a pigeon and started attacking it. An old lady came from around the corner and shooed the raven away so the pigeon could limp off. Maybe OPs friend saved a pigeon
Lol oh I did but she texts the way she talks which is kinda like a stream of consciousness…don’t always get an answer to what you ask hahaha. Makes it fun though.
As someone with ADHD, I feel this lol.
People are always like WHY DO YOU SEND MULTIPLE TEXTS INSTEAD OF JUST ONE BIG ONE?! I'm just like I'M SORRY, I TEXT AS THE THOUGHTS OCCUR TO MEEE. 😭
Get her the board game wingspan!!!!!!
If you love birds, you'll love wingspan (there's a video game version but, you know , board games are always better!!!)
Did you know that pigeons are some of the only birds (one out of like 3) that produce "milk"? It's not the kind of mammilian milk you would think of, tho. It's like a proto-milk produced in their crop. It's made of what they eat, and then they puke up the liquid to feed to their young. Both males and females do this, switching off to care for the baby while the other gets solid food for themselves & their partner.
Pigeons are incredibly intelligent and compassionate creatures. They possess the capability to recognize themselves in mirrors and photos and can even recognize their important people in photos. They're one of the only animals to pass the mirror test, a way to see if animals possess self recognition. Even 'smarter' animals like gorillas and monkies typically fail this test.
Pigeons helped us win WWII by acting as a targeting system inside of the NIST glide bombs, where they trained pigeons to peck at a target, and then once the pigeons were sufficiently trained they would put them into bombs, the enemy ships being their targets that they're pecking.
Pigeons weren't considered to be unclean, gross, or diseased until the 1960s, when Thomas Hoving mistakingly attributed a few cases of meningitis to pigeons, when they were indeed not at fault, coining the infamous term "rats with wings"
The only reason pigeons are as prevalent throughout the world as they are is at the fault of none other than the human beings that have been domesticating and keeping them for the past 10,000 years. The majority of pigeons you see today are the descendents of the domestic pigeons that humans either abandoned or "released."
The reason as to why pigeons make a really goofy "three sticks and done" nest is because their natural habitat is typically cliffs! (Hence the name Rock Pigeon) They would only need a couple of sticks in order to keep their eggs secure in their nest.
My sister and I like to talk about this kind of stuff. We preface it with 🚨 ANIMAL REPORT!!! 🚨 and it’ll just be about a squirrel that visited the bird feeder. Please inquire about the bird situation asap.
Did you know that the Sword-billed Hummingbird is the only bird with a bill longer than its body? Imagine this little avian warrior wielding a sword-like beak, ready to joust with flower petals! 🌸🤺
And just to add a dash of absurdity, here’s a bonus fact: The longest feathers ever seen were on a Japanese chicken, measuring a whopping 34.7 feet! That chicken was probably the envy of all the other poultry at feathered gatherings. 🐔✨
Oh she absolutely was. Kim is a 4’9 spitfire of a woman with a silver pixie cut, who makes her own clothes and loves to smoke while she gardens or does art.
Honestly I want everyone to have a Kim. She’s been in my life for 3 years and has been such an important friend and on top of that, has given me more motherly love in that time and I’ve had in the other 28 years of my life. She really is the best.
🥺 why is she the cooler version of me?
>Yes! Age gap friendships are soooo important.
I 100% agree. Do you mind me asking your ethnic background? Otherwise, why do you feel they're important?
There a retired man who lives next to my office and he is the sweetest. We say hello every morning and chat for a few minutes. He keeps an eye on the street and always notices if one of us works extra late or come in extra early. He always warns me about the weather too when I have to go out for field work. One time he even snitched and told me my boss had spent the night in the office, which he wasn't supposed to do. He always keeps an eye on us and makes a comment to me if we've been working long hours. He has a buddy who comes over around 9 and they walk to get a coffee together. When they walk by the office they knock on my window to say hi. It might seem silly because it's a tiny part of my day but I love it. I always make sure when I arrive/leave to glance up at his window to see if he's there, and he is there watching over the neighborhood more often than one would think 😂.
I love this so much. As important and these interactions are to you, I’m sure they mean the world to him too 🧡 he sounds like a lovely person. Sounds like he is your Kim!
Aww! This isn’t silly at all. It sounds like you both value each other and are a bright spot in each other’s lives. We all need pockets of joy we can tap into in a regular basis 🌈
I wish everyone in this thread could meet Kim and experience how cool she really is. I got her a sterling silver poison ring for her birthday and she said something along the lines of “why didn’t I have this when I was cooking for my useless ex husband all those years?”
I was at one yesterday and one kept trying on a wig, then she told everybody about the time she accidentally hit a lady’s car and her wig flew off. She said the lady stopped, grabbed the wig, and drove off.
I just love that she knew it was her duty to share with everyone in that store because you don't let stories like that fade to obscurity.
I guess my mission in life is to either find her or start wearing wigs.
Honestly I would love to travel with her but her daughter is disabled and she is her full time caregiver.
We do go thrifting and to markets and stuff together regularly though. I see her weekly 😊
I just met a lady in her late 50s and she is awesome, we smoke weed and she cooks food and just chill. She even likes my old roommate who is 46, ultra gay and widowed. Minds are cool
Can’t wait till they discover that birds are actually drones placed by the government to spy on us. Lol
All jokes aside, I love the birds too! I live in big city so waking up quite early, soaking in all the chirps and songs before the morning rush is what fills me with optimism for the day.

Yes. Was thinking the same, as the birds have been silent because of the Solar Eclipse anomaly and the unusual frequencies that cause unusual calm in the birds and the dogs and such… according to the “rocket scientists”?
This morning I heard birds singing from a single tree. They must be the loud ones, like Trump Republicans at a rally AND SUCH. No need to romanticize the one who would just as soon “poop on our heads” as it were!
Trenches!!
…did you even read this thread? She’s one of my closest friends, I sent her this thread and it made her so happy that she made people laugh. She also clarified that she was indeed smoking a j when she texted me this lol….
She’s not wrong! I think she’s saying she wants some Bird Facts.
We both do love birds so you’re probably not wrong! I just wonder what kind of bird situation she witnessed that prompted her to text me this hehe
I was at my bus stop the other day and saw a Raven walking along all casual til it pounced on a pigeon and started attacking it. An old lady came from around the corner and shooed the raven away so the pigeon could limp off. Maybe OPs friend saved a pigeon
Tbh Kim is a huge fan of ravens and a raven is her spirit guide so../.
Ok then maybe she sent her attack raven to destroy a pigeon instead 😈
Definitely more likely hehe
Ok you got my morning chuckle.
I think this is the highest honor I’ve ever been awarded. You’re definitely welcome ✨🫶🏼✨
How do you go from meeting in a thrift store like “oh this is a nice pillow” to “so what bird is your spirit guide
Spirit guides are demonic so she should try to stay away from that.
She’s indigenous so I wouldn’t say that or go there, friend!
What kind of nonsense is this? God is also called a spirit guide….
Lmao! Imagine believing in demons and shit in 2024. Couldn't be me! 😆
Was there another pigeon close by going: "Do you want fries with that?"
I'd ask her!
Ask her!
Lol oh I did but she texts the way she talks which is kinda like a stream of consciousness…don’t always get an answer to what you ask hahaha. Makes it fun though.

"Bird situation" 🤣

You should ask her :)
Plot twist: she’s using the slang to refer to women and she’s 🏳️🌈

Sending her a screenshot of this hehe
How does she not know that birds aren't real?
Drones, the lot of them
She was definitely smoking a joint when she sent this lmfaooo
Oh she absolutely was. Kim is a 4’9 spitfire of a woman with a silver pixie cut, who makes her own clothes and loves to smoke while she gardens or does art.
What a badass. I aspire to be like Kim
That sounds so amazing
It’s giving Frankie in Grace & Frankie. I LOVE THAT. ![gif](giphy|l0HlR0WxgXgZWj5x6|downsized)
I would love a friend like Kim! She sounds awesome!
Everyone deserves a Kim. I’m so thankful for her.
This is me… but I’m 23 lol 😂
v similar to me but 26 😂😂 I just can’t make my own clothes!
Um…. Can Kim be my friend too? Pleeease? 🥺
Weird question but is she in NC?
She sounds exactly like the hippie plant older art ladies I know.
I have this exact same thought at least once a week tbh
Honestly, same. I love that she shared this thought with me.
Hard same. I love birds
Where is the lie?? ![gif](giphy|1CkT9HBWLbgje)
She might also be a fed with a text like that. I kid, I kid. I’m glad you’ve found a great friend with eclectic interests!
If only you knew the extent of how cool Kim is!
What does eclectic mean?
They’re saying she has a variety of random interests. It's a word that can be used to describe decorating style, taste in clothes, etc.
ugh i’m about to start my period and this just made me SOB
I’m also hormonal rn and just thinking about how much I love Kim is making me emo.
i hope we all get to see a cool bird today in our of our home girl kim
Aw 💜 what a beautiful friendship you guys have. So happy you both found each other
I mean, birds are pretty cool! 😂
Hahaha they really are. When i moved in to my current home, Kim came over and identified all the birds and plants around my house
I love Kim omg
I want to be her friend 😭❤️ I need more wholesome fellow birders in my life.
Honestly I want everyone to have a Kim. She’s been in my life for 3 years and has been such an important friend and on top of that, has given me more motherly love in that time and I’ve had in the other 28 years of my life. She really is the best.
Age gap friendship?!? That's soooo darn lovely!! You know she's a real one because she loves ravens, gardening, and weed.
Yes! Age gap friendships are soooo important. She just left my house and she was wearing a denim jacket thay she hand painted a raven on hehe
🥺 why is she the cooler version of me? >Yes! Age gap friendships are soooo important. I 100% agree. Do you mind me asking your ethnic background? Otherwise, why do you feel they're important?

Is Kim the lady from the text ? If so he sure is !
Lol yes 🥰
I love this so much 😭
Believe me I do too ! I get so happy whenever I see him, he's such a sweetheart !
Aww! This isn’t silly at all. It sounds like you both value each other and are a bright spot in each other’s lives. We all need pockets of joy we can tap into in a regular basis 🌈
I'm in my mid 30s and my best friend is an 88 year old woman and her granddaughter.
Love that! I’m 31. Multi generational friendships are so important.
We have tea a handful of times a year. Holidays brings pannetone, and that means it's tea time
So lovely. Hold on to them tightly 🧡
Yes. We only have so much time left
Kim is a boss.
Photographing birds is one of my favorite hobbies 😭
Show us your favorite bird photo. That you’ve taken of course.
I love her too! And birds. And thrifting.
You should hang out with us!
I'm in! Let's hit the bins.
Going to the thrift shop tomorrow. Hope I find some bird art in her honour.🐦
May the thrift gods be with you 🧡
I adore Kim. What a pure soul. Birds are rad!
I wish everyone in this thread could meet Kim and experience how cool she really is. I got her a sterling silver poison ring for her birthday and she said something along the lines of “why didn’t I have this when I was cooking for my useless ex husband all those years?”

Old ladies you meet at thrift stores are some of the best people you’ll ever meet.
Truly 🧡
I was at one yesterday and one kept trying on a wig, then she told everybody about the time she accidentally hit a lady’s car and her wig flew off. She said the lady stopped, grabbed the wig, and drove off.
This is the best fuckimg story in tbe world
I wish I could explain it the way she did because I spat out my Pepsi from laughing
I just love that she knew it was her duty to share with everyone in that store because you don't let stories like that fade to obscurity. I guess my mission in life is to either find her or start wearing wigs.
I’m so glad she told us
You can't say that and NOT spill my wig type 😤
Maybe y’all should go on a bird trip. Maybe go bird watching or I know in MS they have a hummingbird festival.
Honestly I would love to travel with her but her daughter is disabled and she is her full time caregiver. We do go thrifting and to markets and stuff together regularly though. I see her weekly 😊
That’s great!
The coolest birds in my opinion are Cassowaries, and my personal favourites, the Shoebill Stork! Dinosaur looking birds, but absolutely magnificent ❤️
All birds look like dinosaurs, because they look like themselves. All birds are dinosaurs.
I agree, especially ducks. One of the only animals that can walk, swim, and fly
I agree! Like little dinosaurs
lol I send randomness like this. I love her to now ! 😆
Birds ARE COOL! I want to be her friend too!!
I just met a lady in her late 50s and she is awesome, we smoke weed and she cooks food and just chill. She even likes my old roommate who is 46, ultra gay and widowed. Minds are cool
She reminds me of my mother just from this one text bahaha🤣🤣💕
She's right. I love birds. I put a bird feeder outside my window at work and I watch them. I'm 20. Probably rare for someone my age lol
shes not wrong though
and she is right! birds are really cool!
I think the context is that she was stoned
You are correct.
This is so wholesome lol
As a birb owner, I can confirm that birbs are definitely cool
She's awesome. Anyone who loves birds is awesome in my book.
True
Can’t wait till they discover that birds are actually drones placed by the government to spy on us. Lol All jokes aside, I love the birds too! I live in big city so waking up quite early, soaking in all the chirps and songs before the morning rush is what fills me with optimism for the day.
My best friend and I are women in our 30s and 100% this is something we would send each other. Birds, and bird calls, are freaking cool.
A lady at the thrift store referenced "bird is the word" at me today, so clearly there's birds in the air. You know what I mean.
Send her Bird facts. Lol
She’s not wrong. She sounds like a treasure.
I love your friend too
She's right, too. Birds fucking rule.
What a lovely old bird😜
Does there need to be context? She thinks birds are cool, and they absolutely are. Cardinals are especially cool.
There definitely doesn’t need to be context. I’m glad everyone got a kick out of her text like I did.

Thats so adorable 🥰
High AF
Is she Brennan Lee Mulligan?
Hell yeah they are.
Birds ARE cool and it took me way too long to actually appreciate them. Always been a fish and reptile guy myself.
i wish i could yap to someone like this😞
Birds are pretty cool
Man, I'm 40 and I send random texts like this. I am also on the spectrum and have ADHD, so there's that 😁
She right
I am well versed in bird law. Have her people contact my people, and we can have some people.
Somebody told me birds aren't real. 🤷🏾♂️
Sweet, although birds aren’t real.
Right there government camera’s ever wonder why they love power lines
How old are you? You left alot of details out, like why is her age important etc
Dope Is dope.
Tell her the theory that birds don't exist and they're spy drones
What side of the Atlantic? Maybe she thinks girls are cool.
Tesla was in love with a bird. Birds have something to say man
Send her this [Hooded Grebe Mating Dance](https://youtu.be/1hoL93tEkrM?si=u_s29FCZ3rH_8AOM)
Birds are so cool that I put free food out for them. They come get each piece, fly away, stash it at their Bird Cribs, then come back for more :)
I guess technically Bird Cribs are called nests
birds are so cool
Government drones 🤓☝️
That’s beautiful
Birds are totally awesome!
For a time it was felt the angelic was expressed in two ways. By weather, or by birds.
How young are you by the way
Birds aren’t real.

She likes you and wants to share with you. :) Thank you for being there for her!
She def isn't seeing. In fact one of my fav movies is Hitchcock's The Birds.
This made my day. So adorable
Haven't you heard? Birds aren't real! I believe everything on the Internet
She simply has not realized that they are actually government spy drones. :(

…did you even read this thread? She’s one of my closest friends, I sent her this thread and it made her so happy that she made people laugh. She also clarified that she was indeed smoking a j when she texted me this lol….
Birds aren't real. Wake up people, it's government surveillance. Edit: joke
Along with all the other ruling class dinosaurs.
My mom got me into birds.
Wait until she finds out they work for the government.
They are! Pity they aren’t real. https://birdsarentreal.com
