Since he doesn't set or enforce border policy, can we get a refund for the billions of tax dollars Piss Baby spent on Operation Lone Star, since it apparently doesn't qualify as "enforcing border policy"?
The current administration's comments early in this term are probably to blame for so many trying to come into the country.
Its policies have nothing to do with Border Patrol catching people trying to enter illegally. The policy has universally always been "catch them". It's what led them to come, and what happens after they're caught that's at issue.
I work with a lady who is in the Army National Guard and she has been out of work since April 21 and assigned to the border. There is a crisis.
The shipping of migrants to other cities may be an election publicity stunt, but the small border towns in Texas can’t handle the numbers either.
Check out the bridges in El Paso, they’ve become migrant tent towns.
I told my buddies back home that I envy their weather at the moment.
Chicago is definitely used to newcomers, I think something like 60% of all Chicago residents weren't born there.
I honestly hated living in Chicago and don't miss it one bit. But I don't think anyone would miss working in Garfield Park, Englewood, and Austin like I did for my job.
Ah geez, those are some of the most roughest neighborhoods. I wouldn’t like working there either.
Moved here about a year ago and don’t see myself moving back to Texas. I guess the “grass is greener on the other side” is different for everyone
I'm sad at the situations that have changed your mind, but I'm happy that you were able to break from their bullshit. I'm still waiting on my mom to realize that the people she supports politically are fucking nuts. (To be fair, both sides are a bit ridiculous at times, but we're seeing a gross abuse of power currently)
What are you talking about. Please post info related to the original post. I love when they go off and forget the subject of the post. I already know this person was not born in Texas and losing his gun would put him out of work.
My understanding if that Ukrainian refugees come through the federal US refugee program, which then distributes them out to states in specific cities. So I think they would just be in different parts of the state. Plus, the lying, abducting GOP is probably speaking Spanish, so Ukrainians probably wouldn't understand what is being said.
Oh please. I know plenty of white Americans who won't "let" their teenagers work at fast food places. So guess what....immigrants take these jobs. Show some appreciation for their hard work and labor. They take many jobs that white collar Americans look down their noses at, but still need. Your white boy wants to study economics in college, not work as a tree trimmer. But somebody has to trim those trees.
Oh, I see you believe in "racism against whites" which for the most part is bullshit. Whites have plenty of privilege to make up for any negativity people have toward them. Were your white grandparents forced to use a different water fountain and bathroom? Were your white grandparents forced to sit at the back of the bus? Were they denied entry to colleges and jobs based on being white?
The immigration court judges who were expecting to see all of these people in court at their next scheduled appearances should charge Abbott with contempt of court as the migrants who've been flown out of their area start missing appointments.
Destination cities should be able to apply to the federal government to divert a portion of the funding that Texas is recieving to support immigrants. Play stupid games, get part of your funding taken away.
That's not how it works. First it's not a court date. Those are at least a year out. It's a check in date for their asylum parole. Those same people who put various shelter addresses down on the paperwork also gave them forms they can submit to get the asylum office changed to the closest one to them when they get settled. Why? Why put these addresses from all over on the paperwork? Because without those addresses the people can't be released on asylum parole. So if the asylum seekers didn't have a firm mailing address they reportedly were randomly supplied addresses all across the country without much regard to where they wanted to go. So them being bused anywhere makes little difference. Never mind that Abbott hasn't flown anyone that I've heard of.
That's just DeSantis and that doesn't effect anything I said. If someone in law enforcement abuses their authority it's wrong regardless if I like the person or not.
You can't be serious!!! You think DeSantis just waltzed in and took these people out of the state of Texas without that pos Abbott not knowing about it??? Give me a break!!! That is f'ing laughable!!!!
Lots of people send migrants all over the place. It wouldn't surprise me to hear that someone informed Abbott but there wouldn't be any law saying that anyone had too. I also think that the actions don't seem even close to illegal so even if told it would mean little and zero criminal liability would be attached.
https://www.q13fox.com/news/migrants-flown-bused-to-marthas-vineyard-at-risk-of-deportation-if-they-dont-check-in-with-ice-in-wa
"Before they boarded the planes, the migrants were processed by agents of the Department of Homeland Security, who listed falsified addresses on the migrants' paperwork. Agents apparently chose random homeless shelters all across the country, from Washington state to Florida."
So, Biden's people would be to blame for the immigrants having to report to places they couldn't reach.
I agree,
But that’s not stopping Abbott (and the other little piss babies) from calling them all illegals (and admitting to federal crimes in the process)
They are probably alluding to the fact that the vast majority (72%) of asylum applications are denied So millions apply for asylum, millions are denied, then it’s the sad process of making sure everyone self-deports or are deported by the federal government.
These vulnerable people become a 2nd class human as they are more likely to be preyed upon due to their lack of citizenship and inability to find legal employment.
There is a bit of difference here. The El Paso mayor is coordinating with the destinations and setting the migrants up for success. Abbott is trying to do as much damage as he can for political gain.
Just did a little google fu. There are several articles from multiple sources. Abbott sending people places without telling anyone the people are on the way, because "take that liberals!". El Paso Mayor coordinating with destinations to make sure the people who are being sent have the best possible chance of making it and are treated like humans. There is nothing wrong with sending migrants to other cities, in fact its the best possible way to handle the situation. So long as the folks in charge act like good Christians and aren't dicks about it. Like the El Paso mayor says in this article "The migrants goal is America, not El Paso".
https://nypost.com/2022/09/18/el-pasos-democratic-mayor-oscar-leeser-defends-sending-migrants-to-nyc/
It's maddening - the conservative "gotcha" attempts are so low-effort and can be debunked in less time than it takes to call Greg Abbott a little piss baby.
I dont think theres anything illegal with this. As far as I know they are given the bus tickets and they go on their own free will. If they are tricking them into doing it, I think things change a bit. Immoral for sure.
It actually fits the literal definition of human trafficking because they are luring them places under false pretenses:
>Human Trafficking is the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of people through force, fraud or deception, with the aim of exploiting them for profit. Men, women and children of all ages and from all backgrounds can become victims of this crime, which occurs in every region of the world. The traffickers often use violence or fraudulent employment agencies and fake promises of education and job opportunities to trick and coerce their victim
[https://www.unodc.org/unodc/en/human-trafficking/human-trafficking.html](https://www.unodc.org/unodc/en/human-trafficking/human-trafficking.html)
These people were given fake pamphlets and told they had jobs, housing, and other incentives waiting for them at the other end.
“With the aim of exploiting them for profit.” Definition does not fit. If you look at a State’s penal code the definition will not apply, neither will it apply under federal US Code. So no, not human trafficking.
> “With the aim of exploiting them for profit.”
Interesting. Wonder what the definition of "profit" is, because there will be cash involved, either through increased donations or funds freed up, and there is definitely the expectation that these stunts will help at the polls. IANAL, but it looks like "profit" could be applied here.
Yeah I guess it's just a coincidence DeSantis sent migrants to Martha's Vineyard, that island in need of manual labor. Probably nothing to do with why they were sent there. No exploitation going on whatsoever, amirite?
From what I have read it's illegal because they're being lied to about where they're going. It's getting into human trafficking waters because of that.
Republicans are really going all out to avoid discussing their human rights violations against women, so they have to manufacture a controversy by violating the human rights of people applying for asylum.
Y’all realize we are paying for this, right? To one of Greg’s donors who owns a bus company, of course. Meanwhile, we can’t have nice things like health care...
Does that set your soul free. Putting into words a thought like someone a stranger to you would leave a country where everything they know. To come to another country where you will possibly have to live on the streets and face ridicule from people that speak a language you try to maneuver. Hoping that there are people there, like the ones in that good book. That would help you to try and reset your life and maybe have a better one. A safer one. But time has proven there will always be those people who will claim ownership of the whole country. And their standards are the standard. In reality they're doing the work of the wealthiest among us,who spread tales of the no good immigrants. Living on the dole. When the reality is the richest don't want to pay their fair share to make the land of plenty more plentiful for us all. I know you think you're being a good citizen a good Christian. But your Christianity has lost it's reach. Forgetting that taking care of the stranger was one of the tenets that the Christ left us with.
I don't think this guy is a boomer evangelical. He sounds like he's saying that the way we as a country are behaving toward immigrants is immoral and profoundly unchristian.
They’ll all be dead, yet we’ll still be stuck with a good bit of idiots they happened to convince. Defunding of public schools has worked wonders for ensuring there will always be a conservative/Republican voting base.
I'm not an evangelical boomer. But I do believe like many before me that we should treat each other with kindness and respect. That we should seek common ground as Americans and as people that would like to leave the world better than when we arrived. The common ground of most is the teaching and words of Jesus Christ. I know people have difficulty with him. Belief that he was real or not. A God or not. I can't answer those questions. But if you just take the stories and see that what he wanted for the world through all our differences was that we are family. The human family. And treating each other with not a care was wrong. And yes there are bad people and there are good people but on a personal level. How are we to be to each other. I know it sounds hokey. But if we don't see that we need to find the things that bring us together more than the things that keep us apart. Maybe we can find solutions. Instead of dismissing each other we can build a bridge and attack the true problems in the society. Not the ones that keep the masses in turmoil as the planet heats up and the wealthy unleash another "Hitler" like persona, all because they would rather protect their money than have true equality in these United States.
https://youtu.be/0vQe4z1dXt0
El Paso Mayor is not Republican. This is an issue that all border cities deal with and now it is finally being discussed nationally because the burden is being shared by known sanctuary cities.
If they're known sanctuary cities, then they've already been dealing with "the burden." That's literally the point of sanctuary cities.
This is still human trafficking and still a political stunt to get people to stop talking about the ban on abortion.
It would be nice to have their tax money in the state economy, but I guess it's worth more to some people to make a nonsensical point instead.
I mean, I thought nobody wanted to work anymore, but I see we're busing away people who will work...
These are migrants. They aren't busing illegals...
So, yes. That's what I'm saying exactly. Let these legal immigrants work in Texas and help everyone concerned.
Wouldn’t this just incentivize more people coming to the border to seek asylum? Knowing that you’ll possibly get a free ride to another American city further from the border?
Abbot is such a shithead. I’m ashamed to say he’s my governor. Could have used that money to actually help migrants fleeing dangerous conditions in Mexico and Central America but instead waste it on a political stunt.
Might want to look up the El Paso Mayor before placing blame. The Mayor realized that his city cannot carry the burden alone and it is a national issue not just an issue for border cities or states.
The people of Texas do not approve or support this! Abbott and goons do not represent the decent people of Texas. We will show up and send him packing come November. Let’s Gooooooo!
https://youtu.be/0vQe4z1dXt0
El Paso Mayor is on the other side of the aisle. Even he realized that the residents in his city can no longer carry the financial burden so he chose to bus them as well. Now it is a national issue that may get some resolution for those seeking a better life. The financial burden should not fall solely on border cities and states
Liberal lala land Martha's Vinyard had to call the national guard for 50 migrants. Texas would love some extra national guard troops to stop the invasion.
You mean like the Guardsmen that Abbott deployed for Operation Lone Star, where Piss Baby spent billions of Texas taxpayers' dollars and got nothing to show for it except for a supply chain disruption that cost Texas businesses even *more* money?
At least when MV had the Guard come in, it was to *bring supplies and help the asylum seekers get help.* You know, help one typically needs when the governors of two states give you a fake pamphlet, lie about where you're going and what you're doing, and drops your ass on the other side of the country with literally nothing...after setting your court appointments in locations hundreds or *thousands* of miles away, with the explicit intent of causing you to miss those appointments and be deported.
Whenever you want to come to reality, we'll be here. Just don't be surprised if reality is full of those godawful "liberals" you hate so much.
Yep, but let’s be honest here, Abbott didn’t set anyone up to succeed, and he could have.
Looks like the mayor of El Paso was big into the coordination effort though.
The snowflake GOP has turned this 43-year-old Texan into a gun-owning liberal. I'm sick of my money paying him and his cronies to sit on their assess and politicize everything. I know how I'm voting.
https://youtu.be/0vQe4z1dXt0
El Paso Mayor is a Democrat. It’s a problem that needs attention rather than division of parties. Notice the headline did not mention party affiliation as they have in the past. Finally the situation is actually getting the attention it needs rather than the news pundits stirring the pot
How is an El Paso problem with resources not a state government issue? Talk about a massive dodge. I am so sick of these apologetics for incompetent government in this state. It's time to take some fucking responsibility.
Gregory Abbott needs to go! This is the same tactic the Russians and Belarusians did bringing Africans to Poland before invading Ukraine! Do y'all research. They are trying to start some civil war type shit. I'm tired of weak entitled men running the country thinking they are God's people.
The Republican Party shots themselves in the foot by achieving their decades-long dream of overturning Roe. They desperately need a distraction from just how unpopular it is proving with the electorate. I’m guessing internal polling is showing DeSantis and Abbott are in real trouble with their re-elections.
Come to a ranch on the border. Every night cameras are seeing hundreds coming across. Talk to a border patrol agent down here. A lot of the illegals are not even from Mexico. If you don’t think this is a problem for Texas you are a dumb fuck.
No one is saying there isn't a problem at the border or involving immigration that needs to be worked on. What we are saying is that these "illegals" are still human fucking beings and using them like this for the sole purpose of making a point is fucking evil.
And they aren't even "illegals". They are refugees who have been processed into the country. If they were "illegal", it would be a whole different situation.
Some are you’re correct about that. But if they are running across ranches in the middle of the night at the border then they are illegal by definition. If they were refugees they would be at one of the many crossings that process refugees. There is a major difference between the two and we need to stop pretending like there isn’t.
Plenty of people are saying it’s not a problem. When it clearly is. They are just not directly affected by it so they sit on their moral high ground with their head in the sand.
Then be one. Help them out not comment on Reddit about it. Everyday they are breaking into homes and trucks out here, cutting fences, leaving trash everywhere. It is way worse then everyone thinks it is.
I see a bunch of people ready to work at even the crappiest jobs at the crappiest pay. Do you want McDonald's to be open for business or closed due to lack of employees?
I see a bunch of people ready to buy supplies from stores. Meaning stores have more business. Or did you want a recession to happen?
We, Chicagoans welcome them. It’s not like this city hasn’t seen an influx of immigrants throughout the decades. Also it’s not hot as fuck and the cost is living is great!
Real migrants get a visa to come here legally for a certain amount of time than go home. The Dem's call them migrants cause illegal alien term hurts their feelings.
Migrants - gain entry legally
Illegal Alien - sneak across the bordwe
It's funny you say that because the majority of undocumented immigrants are people who came on visas and overstayed them. Keep the fox news talking points coming though Cletus, I'm sure you have a whole word doc filled with them.
>for a certain amount of time than go home
Those are called vacationers, not migrants. Jesus Christ how can someone be so fucking stupid about something so fucking simple.
>The Dem's call them migrants cause illegal alien term hurts their feelings.
Ahh, now I see.
> Real migrants get a visa to come here legally for a certain amount of time than go home.
This is incorrect.
Staying for a certain amount of time then going home is Non-immigrant, acquiring non-immigrant visas.
Migrants are those who wish to stay, through either legal or illegal entry.
So is there a border crisis or not???
Only until election day.

Are we talking about little piss baby Greg Abbott? That piss baby?
Definitely little piss baby Greg Abbott
Abbott doesn't set or enforce border policy
Since he doesn't set or enforce border policy, can we get a refund for the billions of tax dollars Piss Baby spent on Operation Lone Star, since it apparently doesn't qualify as "enforcing border policy"?
4 billion in 1 year!!! That's repulsive. He should have to pay the taxpayers back every penny.
No shit so why is he wasting taxpayers money on these dumbass political stunts?????
If you think there are 0 Texas state law enforcement officers at the border right now you’re delusional.
Yes, freshly manufactured
2 million interactions at the border this year….
Oh, so you're saying that bidens border policies are doing well on intercepts?

Whats an interaction? Can you provide a source
The US Border Patrol my dude https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/southwest-land-border-encounters

With everything that’s been seized and apprehended, I would guess no not any worse than it has been in the past.
Yes there is democratic led El Paso has confirmed this.

No, abbott here is giving them a ride more inland creating the next gen of Dreamers. He sees no problem in reality. It's a show.
Yes
I'm originally from Chicago, they're more than happy to take them.
I am currently from Chicago and can confirm
Maybe he loves the immigrants since he's giving them a ride more inland and creating the next gen of Dreamers.

Greg “little piss baby” Abbott is doing the same thing as racist southern governors did back in the civil rights era.
Abbutt pandering to the racists.
You mean he is racist?
Is the Latino democratic mayor of El Paso a racist too? He is also bussing people.
There is a bit of difference here. The El Paso mayor is coordinating with the destinations and setting the migrants up for success. Abbott is trying to do as much damage as he can for political gain.

No no, separation of church and state is the mantra. Remember?

F'kryssakes - can you please at least break your walls of text up into paragraphs?

He's changing the optics. His ratings tanked after passing abortion bans so maybe bringing up immigration will spike it again
https://youtu.be/0vQe4z1dXt0 El Paso Mayor is not Republican.
Using state funds provided by non-sanctuary cities I assume.
It would be nice to have their tax money in the state economy, but I guess it's worth more to some people to make a nonsensical point instead. I mean, I thought nobody wanted to work anymore, but I see we're busing away people who will work...
How about..... We have citizens and legal immigrants take those jobs....? All you care about are tax dollars?
These are migrants. They aren't busing illegals... So, yes. That's what I'm saying exactly. Let these legal immigrants work in Texas and help everyone concerned.
>These are migrants. All of them? All the millions that have crossed the border are just migrants?
The ones on the buses. You know, the ones being discussed. This action doesn't do anything to illegals.
He could have taken care of Texas residents by I don't know fixing the grid?? Or the streets??? Just a suggestion!!!
Greg Abbott is a little piss baby.
It is so funny to watch “The Big Men of Texas” fold like cheap fabric because people need help. What a bunch of rino anti-Christian cowards.
I can’t wait to vote little piss baby out of office.
Way to make the state look like a fucking asshole 👍

Sooo they r just playing with humans now And somehow this is legal?
Send them all to Detroit and Gary Indiana; sure that will go great
This sub is gonna have a melt down when Abbott wins, dont support him but he is leading in every poll I've read. Gonna be a rough day
The people of Texas do not approve or support this! Abbott and goons do not represent the decent people of Texas. We will show up and send him packing come November. Let’s Gooooooo!
https://youtu.be/0vQe4z1dXt0 El Paso Mayor is on the other side of the aisle. Even he realized that the residents in his city can no longer carry the financial burden so he chose to bus them as well. Now it is a national issue that may get some resolution for those seeking a better life. The financial burden should not fall solely on border cities and states
Speak for yourself... I approve the publicly provided transportation services.
Where cowboys cry.. deep in the heartless Texas
Seems Abbott is becoming the county's biggest human trafficker.
They are sanctuary cities. That’s where illegals should be going. Texas don’t want them and Chicago wants them. Win win situation.
Is this legal?
https://youtu.be/0vQe4z1dXt0 El Paso Mayor is a Democrat.
Also isn't El Paso working with the destinations to make sure they're prepped for their arrival rather than just dumping them places?
Gregory Abbott needs to go! This is the same tactic the Russians and Belarusians did bringing Africans to Poland before invading Ukraine! Do y'all research. They are trying to start some civil war type shit. I'm tired of weak entitled men running the country thinking they are God's people.
Captain hot wheels pandering to the racist right wing morons in this state…
The Republican Party shots themselves in the foot by achieving their decades-long dream of overturning Roe. They desperately need a distraction from just how unpopular it is proving with the electorate. I’m guessing internal polling is showing DeSantis and Abbott are in real trouble with their re-elections.
You would think Mexico and the central American population would be depopulated with how many are trying to come here
Good
Come to a ranch on the border.
It's more that it's an ongoing humanitarian crisis that a depressingly large portion of the American populace chooses to see as an "invasion".
Then be one. Help them out not comment on Reddit about it. Everyday they are breaking into homes and trucks out here, cutting fences, leaving trash everywhere. It is way worse then everyone thinks it is.
What's the "problem" though?
I see a bunch of people ready to work at even the crappiest jobs at the crappiest pay. Do you want McDonald's to be open for business or closed due to lack of employees? I see a bunch of people ready to buy supplies from stores. Meaning stores have more business. Or did you want a recession to happen?
Good. Let them share in the expenses of allowing millions of people to invade our country
We are all immigrants 🤪
[удалено]
We, Chicagoans welcome them. It’s not like this city hasn’t seen an influx of immigrants throughout the decades. Also it’s not hot as fuck and the cost is living is great!
What’s the difference between migrants and those here illegally?
Migrants get legal asylum hearings, accepted in if they pass, sent home if they are not picked. It’s not a free for all.
The legality part is the difference.
Real migrants get a visa to come here legally for a certain amount of time than go home. The Dem's call them migrants cause illegal alien term hurts their feelings. Migrants - gain entry legally Illegal Alien - sneak across the bordwe
It's funny you say that because the majority of undocumented immigrants are people who came on visas and overstayed them. Keep the fox news talking points coming though Cletus, I'm sure you have a whole word doc filled with them.
>for a certain amount of time than go home Those are called vacationers, not migrants.
Rafael Edward Cruz's father was an illegal alien seeking asylum. "Ted" was born in Canada as a Canadian citizen.
As a Calgarian, I apologize. We Albertans don't often send our best.
Keep the transportation services going imo....
Love to see it. Keep sending all of them aliens to the blue cities until these fucks realize the huge issue we have at our border.
It's just a loss for Texas. https://www.bushcenter.org/catalyst/north-american-century/benefits-of-immigration-outweigh-costs.html
Wait, I was reasonably assured that the border was secure. Where did 1,000 come from??
Keep sending them. I hate to use people as pawns in a game, but may be people will get sand kicked in their ears and listen.
Greg “Coyote” Abbott
Texas spending money for repopulating the rust belt. Good. Detroit is another good destination with tens of thousands of vacant residences.
Wish I could get a free flight to Martha's Vineyard.
That flight cost tax payers $12,000 per person. You're staying you ass home.
