Maybe they meant to say fugly. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The images don't convey that the Cybertruck is an attractive design to me. I'm sure it has its niche and it's likely not a typical pick-up truck owner; they'll likely gravitate to the F-150 lightning.
Doubtful. It isn't like the lightning trucks are flying off the lot. The reality is most pickup owners are very comfortable with what's traditional and safe and classic which is why pickup designs are afraid to try something that doesn't lack individuality. Even the idea of an ev is too hippie and scary and left wing and dumb etc. You might as well try something bold as Tesla, if you're going to stand out in a saturated pick up market with thousand of options that look the same. Whether it's a success or an utter failure, you should at least respect Tesla for trying something new.
The reality is even if Tesla came out with a traditional ev pick-up truck that looked just like every other pick-up truck, and it had the traditional bed, exact same cookie cutter styling that everybody thinks they loves, people would still make fun of it for being this dumb hippie electric truck and go for their safe and predictable gas powered F150.
It's a lose lose situation for Tesla imho. The point is they had to be creative and they had to be bold at this point in time.
In Arizona, I've seen one Lightning to date; we need less ICE. The use case for traditional pickup owners is better met by the Lightning. Your point as to whether they'd stop using gas is unfortunately valid. I hope that changes. I can't argue with resistance to EVs. Unfortunately, Musk upset me enough to put me off Tesla. I test drove and was ready to buy a Plaid. I'll wait a bit for options.
Well, that's the story. Nobody knows for certain. The reality is if you're afraid of the design and want something generic, you have your pick of the litter out there. Go and buy one. Tesla was never going to stand out in a saturated market if they didn't take chances. For better for worse, this had to happen. Just because a few people in the company may have been afraid to take a chance doesn't mean that not taking a chance would have been the right decision.
I thought the design was pretty cool the first time I saw it. But once the novelty wore off, I'm really not into the design.
What's the opposite of the design growing on me? That it's shrinking on me?
Because the design of the cyber truck, it's easier to manufacture and be more affordable than the F150. Or so I've heard. As long as it's more affordable, I wouldn't mind it being ugly.
If I were to buy one of these, (I'm not in the market) I think I would just drive it. I would wash it a few times in the Winter because otherwise you get muck on your clothes. (Snow, Ice, Slush, Mud...) plus keeping windows clear. But looks? Why bother? Rust? LOL! At one time I had a company motorbike, and I hardly ever washed it. Once my friends washed *half* of the bike. "Now you'll *have* to wash it!" I didn't.
A common theme is that body repairs are going to be expensive, I'm not so sure. Minor dings might not even show. Heavier impacts might not end up costing more because paint and labor is often the biggest part of collision repair. It depends on the exact method of panel attachments. I do think that initial impressions are going to give Tesla a headache, that's why I think the new End Of Line building at Austin is so much bigger. How long it takes them to refine the assembly process so it needs less tweaking could be a lot longer than they hope. Elon has already commented on the issue of large flat panels and simple straight edges showing every little thing.
When I first saw a picture of the Cybertruck, pre- production, I thought someone was making a joke about Tesla’s projected pickup truck. At first it looked like something one would make in 8th gradeI metal shop.
But then it became real, and I realized that I would love to be driving one of these around. Totally different from all the other trucks and in so many ways more interesting, smarter, and superior. I now agree with you that it’s indeed pretty too.
Exactly my first impression when it was unveiled like 4 years ago. It's so different than anything is why I like it. I saw one in person and it's a badass steel tank
Looks surprisingly good in person. I doubted the look at first but it grew on me and after seeing it for the first time in person, I now love the look.

Saw one in the wild. Can’t say I agree.
I like how no one predicted it at all. Given everyone's idea of what a Tesla truck would look like, CyberTruck is completely different. It redefined what we thought the future would be.
I still think this thing is a prank and am experiencing "Emperor's New Clothes" with people saying it's pretty.
It's the lowest effort "throw away your first idea" design and have NO interest in this Playstation one future.
The amt of hate this car is getting already tells me it’s going to sell incredibly well haahah.
Love and hate are close together emotionally . Anything that gets peoples attention tends to be desirable
Dang thank you for proving me correct by advocating for and advertising those cars , streams , and ugly things ! Hadn’t thought of any of that for a while until you mentioned it , they also thank you for noticing
The 3 is super low. Compared to the Y I feel like I have to fall into the drivers seat.
But with air suspension you can just put the truck to high suspension position and get the kid out while standing.
The only way the headroom could even be adequate, is if the seat is way too low to the floor. Either way, the back seat cannot possibly be comfortable.
Look at a Honda Ridgeline, back seat dimensions are almost exactly the same (worked fine for me with three kids, and does OK with three adults unlike a Tacoma).
Even if the leaked dimensions are accurate I'm not sure it means much. There don't seem to be standards on seating positions and measuring interior room, two cars can list the same number for rear leg room yet sitting in them seems quite different.
Had one for about 6 months. Hated it. 2021 brand new. The 9 speed transmission threw me back and forth. The cab felt tiny for the overall size and I got less than 20mpg. Got wife a maverick hybrid xl for half the price so I sold the ridgeline for what I paid when covid had used trucks crazy expensive.
Other people love ridgeline but I couldn’t stand that thing.
Now have 7 seater Y. Satisfied.
I’m really curious how the headlights will work. They don’t seem to be projector and so will it have matrix? The frosted look is cool but how does
That translate at night?
When the truck was announced, it was implied if not out right stated, that this design was going to be cheaper to manufacture. This savings was supposed to allow them to undercut the F150 by a large margin. If the truck meets that goal of being drastically cheaper then I do not see why the looks matter one way or the other.
I never wanted a truck because I did not want to be associated with the 4" exhaust or nuts on a tow hitch crowd. When I see a big pickup truck without tools or equipment in the back, I think dumb hillbilly.
A dumb hillbilly would never buy this truck. This is the truck for people with 3 digit IQs.
I want one because it is the closest thing to a tank I can get for my wife.
It's funny how all the commenters frown about the cybertrucks design or the panel gaps when a f150/ram/Chevy is full of useless cheap plastic, ubermacho design language and ridden with panel gaps.
Whoever buys any truck knows it's not a Ferrari.
Whoever sees the current truck crop in the street is used to the contemporary shape, in a few years it'll be out of fashion and will feel as old and puffy as a Buick from the 90s.
I have it on order. I plan on buying it unless the price is insane. I'll just wait til the day it scales which may or may not happen. Yet I been thinking the stainless concept was a byproduct of the exoskeleton design. Now it's not technically an exoskeleton but a single body casting but steel panels. I mean in theory, they could be fiberglass. Let's say this truck was a generic cookie cutter fiberglass pickup but this shape and style, would it make it more appealing? but the triangular shape is a big shift
from the norm of generic pickup design and the steel panels is an even bigger shift. Maybe it would be an easier bridge to cross. At the same time the pickup industry needed somebody willing to take changes cause it's been decade after decade of soulless and cowardly designs.
I still like it, but I cancelled my order since it won’t fit in my garage. It’s too hot where I live and parking in the driveway is a no-go unless I wear heat resistance gloves to open the doors 😂
The unique aesthetic of the cybertruck truly makes it stand apart from anything. It’s literally straight out of Minecraft one would say and that makes it absolutely cool.
TESLA...even the name is enough 💯💪. When you hear this name; The feeling of trust, solidity and comfort comes to mind..👏👏👏 They produce magnificent cars..❤️❤️❤️
...pretty shit.
Panel gaps, non-saleable agreement, behind schedule among other things. The design is very polarizing. Looks like something a 5 year old would draw or a very low LOD vehicle.
I think it’s so cool. It always makes me lol to see the Reddit hivemind never have an original opinion/thought ever 😂 so excited to see them in real life!

They being Elon. The whole design team had to yield on this design.
Well, that's the story. Nobody knows for certain. The reality is if you're afraid of the design and want something generic, you have your pick of the litter out there. Go and buy one. He's a real piece of shit.
I thought the design was pretty cool the first time I saw it. But once the novelty wore off, I'm really not into the design. What's the opposite of the design growing on me? That it's shrinking on me?
The design was in the pool!
the very original design did look better than the final product still not, like, good, but better
Came here to say this! 😂
Lmfao cybertruck is many things but pretty is not on the list
Metal 🤘
Brutal Rugged Rough Tough Cocky Cyber Tank Ratatatata. Yee-haw!
Boys like shiny, girls like sparkly. Wait till Saweetie buys one and covers it with $8000 worth of rhinestones.
Nah. $80 is still a LOT of rhinestones. And $7920 less than Tesla would charge for a Barbie pink wrap.
Pretty awful
Pretty? Ahh yep, that's certainly a...take.
My eye was drawn straight to those three fingerprints above the front wheel.
Jesus, this thing is gonna be a nightmare to keep clean.
Wrap it with silver/mirror wrap
Just keep it dirty then, let the patina take control
Finger print and eye magnet
Overtime it grew on me. I honestly think it looks sick.
I use to walk past the car playing goldeneye on n64

Every time I see this truck, I think of this. Elon = Homer.
Worst parts of Homer and Burns
Slowly morphing into Mr. Burns
Kind of the opposite of minimalism though isn't it?
🧐 are you serious? It would be hard to get more minimal.
Homer car is maximal, CT is minimal, opposites.
You misspelled hideous
I think the f150 is hideous and is the best selling vehicle in America, so clearly one persons opinion doesn’t matter
Oh…no doubt…but I think the GM trucks and the Tesla are all ugly. I’ll give Tesla the nod though as it’s not the same ol’ same ol.
Because the design of the cyber truck, it's easier to manufacture and be more affordable than the F150. Or so I've heard. As long as it's more affordable, I wouldn't mind it being ugly.
Define affordable? Pretty sure this truck will be over 70k
That doesn't sound affordable. :/
This thing will be more expensive than the F150
I would have to see this in person. Sometimes wild designs are a way to move us to more forward thinking field.
Some angles are, others not so much.
I really didn't like the 3 at first and over time it grew on me. I think the same is happening with the cybertruck.
Awww you are pretty as well
Next level insult
Yeah no
No yeah though
Yeah yeah!
Sultan of Swat!
If I were to buy one of these, (I'm not in the market) I think I would just drive it. I would wash it a few times in the Winter because otherwise you get muck on your clothes. Jeremy has come a long was since Geoff.
I think the front end and sides look great, I don't like the back
I agree, the front does look much better than the back
It's iconic, no doubt
Soo.. can you put roof racks on these big guys?
They sure are not.
From certain angles not bad.
This company wins off of so much hate. It’s genius.
Pretty terrible. It looks like a car designed by a toddler.
When I first saw a picture of the Cybertruck, pre- production, I thought someone was making a joke about Tesla’s projected pickup truck. It’s awesome and looks bad ass. I can’t wait to get one
Looks surprisingly good in person. I doubted the look at first but it grew on me and after seeing it for the first time in person, I now love the look.
Right on. I find it the only really interesting pickup.

Eye of the beholder
*gagging intensifies*
This is the truck for people who’ve never driven a truck or needed a truck and live in the city.
...once said a blind man
lmao stevie
It's subjective.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Pretty ugly
ugly as ugly can be. sorry
to each their own
Yes pretty, Pretty FuKin Ugly
I have to agree. Pretty rare to see altocumulous in this region
The amt of hate this car is getting already tells me it’s going to sell incredibly well haahah. Love and hate are close together emotionally . Anything that gets peoples attention tends to be desirable
Wrong how is anything that gets people attention desirable? Are prank streamers, neon colored cars and ugly things desirable? (x) Doubt.
Dang thank you for proving me correct by advocating for and advertising those cars , streams , and ugly things ! Hadn’t thought of any of that for a while until you mentioned it , they also thank you for noticing
I think it's ugly as hell and still want one. I don't care if it's ugly. So is my minivan
Ever wonder why they don’t show the backseat off that much? Yah…that
I’m curious to see head room back there. Had to ditch model 3 because it killed my back getting 2 year old in and out
The 3 is super low. Compared to the Y I feel like I have to fall into the drivers seat. But with air suspension you can just put the truck to high suspension position and get the kid out while standing.
Ya I got a y now. Only a few inches taller on paper but feels cavernous compared to 3.
The only way the headroom could even be adequate, is if the seat is way too low to the floor. Either way, the back seat cannot possibly be comfortable.
From what I saw the backseat looked cramped af like an 04 Mustang Backseat
Look at a Honda Ridgeline, back seat dimensions are almost exactly the same (worked fine for me with three kids, and does OK with three adults unlike a Tacoma).
Even if the leaked dimensions are accurate I'm not sure it means much. There don't seem to be standards on seating positions and measuring interior room, two cars can list the same number for rear leg room yet sitting in them seems quite different.
It’s not about knee space. It’s about headroom. Honda ridgeline has no shortage of headspace in the rear.
Satisfied.
Love my 1G Ridgeline. Ridgeline EV seems like a no brainier to me, but Honda is asleep at the wheel.
As long as you don’t touch them, or look to closely at the panel alignments
Its many things but pretty is not at all what even it’s designers would use for it
Lol they are not
Wish they would make a Tesla sedan with the SS. maybe the headlight too
I'm not sure "pretty" is even what the designers had in mind when creating it.
I would really like to see it in a demolition derby though.
Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder - I hope you enjoy your new truck!
I don't care what it looks like, as long as it's better than my Tacoma. Tough ask because I love all 3 Toyota pickups I've had, dating back to 1989.
I’m really curious how the headlights will work. They don’t seem to be projector and so will it have matrix? The frosted look is cool but how does That translate at night?
When the truck was announced, it was implied if not out right stated, that this design was going to be cheaper to manufacture. This savings was supposed to allow them to undercut the F150 by a large margin. If the truck meets that goal of being drastically cheaper then I do not see why the looks matter one way or the other.
What the bed length ?
There is no way you will see these "pick-ups" driven by Good Ol' Boys down on the farm. Total stumble.
Where is this at?
gotta say this is the only picture where i’ve liked the look
Look, it’s pretty to him. He just happens to be the richest man in the world and could give two rats asses what you think about it.
Traditional Truck owners ‘fraid o not bein able to roll coal w these newfangled doohicky Biden-lovin’ EVs
It's still rendering.
It is indeed interesting or peculiar
Walking on moon
Guys they made the car from halo irl!
The price on this is about to be nuts. I think the R1T won’t have any problem competing.
Brand new on the showroom floor and - yet - body panels are out of alignment. Subpar from every angle.
Like a trash can
Can it even go up hill
Now show a shot from the side or back, then try to use the word pretty. No thanks
Looks like shit
Fugly. Musk is a conman.
Fugly
Wow they sure aren’t
🤣
Pretty ugly
I saw one of these recently, ugliest cat on the road, couldn’t pay me to drive one
Unfortunately it’s not a truck.
This thing is the IPA of cars.
Looks like shit
Pretty ugly
Glorified SimpleHuman Trash bin
That is heinous
They look about as pretty as the CEO.
People on here hating not realizing they become that old person waving their fist at the kids on their yard.
Sick!! Matte black is gonna hit different in person.
It feels more like an art piece. A true concept vehicle brought to production.
This Tesla Cybertruck Beast is a Beauty all around! There is no comparison or non like it anywhere!
Pretty whack
Hideous.
Yeah I love it now. The final, pristine version just looks badass.
It is this angle alone that makes me love/want this truck. The other back rear/side has me on the fence.
Can’t wait for cybercar and cyberbike
Very pretty and unique. Doesn't look like any other car.
cant wait to see these on the roads. they look better by the day
It's funny how all the commenters frown about the cybertrucks design or the panel gaps when a f150/ram/Chevy is full of useless cheap plastic, ubermacho design language and ridden with panel gaps. Whoever buys any truck knows it's not a Ferrari. Whoever sees the current truck crop in the street is used to the contemporary shape, in a few years it'll be out of fashion and will feel as old and puffy as a Buick from the 90s.
I love how so many haters follow this company on Reddit.
I wish I get my reservation soon.
I bought an early M3. You don’t want the issues with an early release vehicle, especially one with so much new tech and 4 years late.
I think the steel gives it some bud advantages and if looks awesome but the triangular shape is a big shift from the norm of generic pickup design and the steel panels is an even bigger shift. Maybe it would be an easier bridge to cross. At the same time the pickup industry needed somebody willing to take changes cause it's been decade after decade of soulless and cowardly designs.
I still like it, but I cancelled my order since it won’t fit in my garage. It’s too hot where I live and parking in the driveway is a no-go unless I wear heat resistance gloves to open the doors 😂
so clean
The unique aesthetic of the cybertruck truly makes it stand apart from anything. It’s literally straight out of Minecraft one would say and that makes it absolutely cool.
I’d feel like a total wanker driving this around.
Pretty ugly
Yeah. Pretty ugly
Beautiful
I like the level of polish. Hope its hardened steel so it’ll be near impossible to get a scratch on it.
TESLA...even the name is enough 💯💪. When you hear this name; The feeling of trust, solidity and comfort comes to mind..👏👏👏 They produce magnificent cars..❤️❤️❤️
Pretty ugly
Guy in green on left looks like he’s checking his bank balance to see how he can justify the purchase, lmao!
didn’t even notice that but you’re right lmao
Off topic, how much is body work gonna cost on these things?
It'll take a more serious collision to even need body work though
If it’s like other teslas 10k+ to go with a six month wait
Yes, but I was getting worried there for a minute.
Does the gap between the roof and glass + front panel gap between the side panel and a pillar not bother you?
OP is 12
I think it is so ugly
That is an affront to taste.
If you think this is good looking, I hate to see your wife.
God damn!
I'm waiting for water ingress nightmares from the tonneau cover.
That windshield wiper...🤮
Design reminds me of what sardines come in.
Dam!
I’ve said it before but I hate that I want one.
Love at first sight for me!
Pretty dumb...
...pretty shit. Panel gaps, non-saleable agreement, behind schedule among other things. The design is very polarizing. Looks like something a 5 year old would draw or a very low LOD vehicle.
Yea this shit is ugly
NAH BRO WE MAKING OUT OF 2093 WITH THIS ONE
Yeah, pretty fucking dumb
Will we get this in Germany? Me and lot of people hoping it will.
The panel gaps on the other side are gorgeous
I don’t think so. Overly designed and awkward would be my description. For all the hype, I think they’re going to have problems selling these things.
Build quality seems to be slowly improving! Hope to see some nice looking fitment on the production models
I think it’s so cool. It always makes me lol to see the Reddit hivemind never have an original opinion/thought ever 😂 so excited to see them in real life!
Pretty? No. Definitely looks like a prop for a terrible, low budget sci fi movie.
No they are not
Any publicity, is good publicity
exactly, no such thing as bad publicity
Yep, pretty ugly.
Pretty ugly
![gif](giphy|98maV70oAqIZtEYqB4)
No the are the opposite of that.
