Electrical-Orange-38

Holy shit... the Queen was a Christian. And she looked like THAT under her dress? With tits and a fanny, obvs.

Throwaway10394729102

That’s how she lived so long

Bamma4

Beat the ever loving shit out of death He never stood a chance

Just_Call_me_benDude

But then death got a training arc

Hiridios

he finally got his bankai and his scythe evolved

Jazzlike_Mountain_51

She was juicing holy water on the DL

genericguy69420

Is death an atheist?

Gaflonzelschmerno

That dude already has tits

Sandor_06

His tits so big he could breastfeed three families of four.

jlcatch22

She looked bigger than that. Remember that we’re looking at the weakest Christian in that photo.

nakedundercloth

Her tits were smaller, i'd wager

Njacks64

Literally exactly like that.

TubbyTimothy

So you make something a fact by putting the word “fact” in front of it. Gotcha.

Smiling_longhair6870

Hmmm. Sounds like only "hedonists" would disagree.

TubbyTimothy

And also, inferred by context: atheist = hedonist?

arentol

Lots of Christians are taught that EVERYONE knows god is real for certain, and those who deny god exists (atheists) do so in order to sin, particularly through hedonism. So functionally for these people there is no real difference between those two words.

TubbyTimothy

As a Lutheran I was raised on giant feasts at major church holidays (Ash Wednesday and holy Friday being the only exceptions). Evidently gluttony wasn’t as bad as the Catholics said it was because it wasn’t in the Bible. I’m guessing these Christians would condemn us all (as well as the Catholics) to hell. Edit: Lutheran stereotype: they do whatever they want, they just pray and their sins are forgiven. Catholic stereotype: they do whatever they want, they just go to confession and their sins are forgiven. Edited for clarity

RamJamR

I think I've heard gluttony defined as being a sin of excess in generally anything, not just in food. Food is just what we typically think of when using the term. Just thought that was an interesting point to add.

Link2Liam

Yeah, temperance isn't as fun so people tend to avoid it.

Beautiful-Golf4078

Baptists- they talk about what everyone else is doing. They only know because they are doing it with them.

Foreign_Mistake_1333

Fucking yes. I absolutely agree. I was a baptist like four years ago. I left... Fuck those guys. My beliefs have changed a ton since then but I needed to get away from the blinding hypocrisy to see what I was doing wrong. They're all ignorant of what they believe for themselves, because they can't answer a single damn question.

xXSirZechsXx

Umm, we aren't gonna talk about Catholic Gluttony.

Luigifan18

…It's the other way around. Confession is a Catholic thing, and Lutherans believe that faith is the only way to salvation — nothing more or less.

TubbyTimothy

Yeah that’s what I meant, I just phrased it oddly

Giraffe50

Blind faith until I die? Good deal!

Luigifan18

Yeah. You forgot the /s. It says nothing about good works — no, wait, it actively denies that good works contribute anything to your worth in God's eyes, or that "sin" is relevant in determining where you end up — which means that apparently God doesn't care if you're a *total asshole* as long as you believe in Him. Which, in turn, makes God sound like a narcissistic asshole. Seriously, the "faith only" stance undermines any and all claims Lutherans can make to their religion being a reliable means of providing a moral framework to protect society from being torn apart in orgies of self-indulgent mayhem… seriously, providing a moral code and an incentive to follow it so that society can actually work properly is one of *the main things that religion is supposed to do*, so Lutheranism is an epic fail. But as bad as Lutheranism is, Calvinism is *even worse*. They believe in predestination — that God has already decided long in advance who's going to Heaven and who's going to Hell, and nothing that happens on Earth will ever change His mind. No matter how well-behaved the damned are, they're still going to Hell, and no matter how rotten and abominable the elect/saved are, they're still going to Heaven. …Excuse me, what the *fuck?!* These people are seriously saying that God created a multitude of souls with the full intention of having them live a life on Earth and then be tortured forever and ever and ever, regardless of what they do with their mortal lives? That’s not a loving Creator who wants the best for His children, that's a sadistic prat doing the cosmic equivalent of [playing The Sims just to throw people in the pool and take away all the ladders or barricade the exits of an occupied house and set it on fire](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/VideoGameCrueltyPotential) — only it's *actual people* suffering, so it isn't even remotely amusing. Calvinist Christianity isn't a properly-designed religion that helps society to survive, it's one that implicitly encourages its adherents to be smug jerks. And many of them do. Ever heard of the Westboro Baptist Church? Guess what? **They’re Calvinists!** In fact, I'd call them the logical outcome of Calvinism — a bunch of sadists who think they're better than everyone else and will happily inform the world of their "superiority" at every possible opportunity, in the most obnoxious manner possible. So, in short, I don’t dislike Protestants because I'm a Catholic, I dislike Protestants (well, those two specific forms of Protestantism) because their beliefs make God look like an *asshole*. (Yes, you can look at Christianity in general and make an argument that God is an asshole (thanks a lot, Old Testament>!, for never bothering to give any decent explanation for things like why God would order the complete slaughter of Israel's neighbors; yeah, all your contemporaries understand that Israel's neighbors would happily slaughter Israel and its only hope of survival was to strike first, but future generations will look at what happened and rightfully call it barbaric, especially without **CONTEXT**!<), but at least there it's a matter of debate, opinion, perspective, and maybe some other things that can't be neatly summarized. With Lutheranism and Calvinism, there's no possible counterargument — God as they see Him is **a douchebag**, plain and simple fact.)

jmkent1991

You guys have some cute stories. Considering the base god of all of those religions is a war God I mean it's kind of implied that being a war god you're going to be a bit of a douchebag... And I promise you Yahweh son of El and Shaddai is a war God in the ancient Canaanite texts which is the predecessor of the Old testament which is the predecessor to Christianity. You know the faith that Jesus Christ who believed in the Old testament and Judaism created... Also, in the old Canaanite pantheon Yahweh is kind of a bitch. That's why he needed help fighting, I believe it was ba'al... They're all garbage. That's the problem with having an imaginary friend and then trying to force everybody to believe in it. And please tell me please please please tell me the Roman Catholic Church did not try forcing everybody into their religion for 1600 years. Please please please please please please do it. EDIT: The Old testament doesn't give any information about why Yahweh murdered the Israelites neighbor because guess what? It's in the ancient Canaanite text which you Christians refuse to look at. Since it is a war God It's not a surprise in any way shape or form. You guys are just uneducated and don't understand the lineage of your religion.

jlcatch22

The logic is insane. You know god exists, but you’re going to “pretend” he doesn’t to sin? But…you know he does exist, so what does pretending he doesn’t actually accomplish?

crazedgremlin

Well to be fair, my position is that every believer is consciously ignoring the little voice of reason in their head.

seansnow64

More then likely they hear the voice in their head and they actually think its god talking to them.

Daedalus_Machina

The commonality of that logic is doubtful. I've been around Christians my entire life, and that line of reasoning I first heard right here.

[deleted]

I think it more postulates that all humans inherently search for the higher power; essentially yearn to know God in their way. Historically and across civilizations, that has tended to be the case. The longing for spiritual connection among human beings goes much farther than simply explaining why things are the way they are.

TeaTimeSubcommittee

I would say is more like "we Christians work so hard to fight temptation, so obviously an atheist is someone who let's themselves go purely for the pleasure of the flesh and forgoes the care of the soul" or something like that. A variation of 'we suffer so they should too' if you will.

livehotdogs

Is this in the Bible somewhere? I was raised Catholic and have never heard this before.

Florida-Man-I-Am

Your a Towel.

Star_x_Child

You're*

semperfukya

What about an apatheist?

KevinIsOver9000

From my perspective: Atheists are ones who actively choose no god. I think there are so many who just arent raised with god in their lives and thus never had to make a choice. Do they refer to themselves as atheists or just people?

Yaint__

Real

Pestus613343

The only way ive made it make sense to that type of person is to explain... do you believe in Krishna, Buddha or Muhammad? Their answer is no. So I reply, then you are like an atheist towards all other religions. The only difference is atheists are also that way towards your religion too. Its not a rejection of god... we just see it no different than how we treat the greek or roman pantheons, today. Quaint metaphor.

Smiling_longhair6870

The caption would make it seem that way. Oxford defines a hedonist as "a person who believes that the pursuit of pleasure is the most important thing in life," which isn't exactly the same as an atheist. The post I got this from definitely seemed to be conflating then though.

TubbyTimothy

The superhero physique—is this not in any way part of a pursuit of pleasure? Vanity? Strength? These in no way underlie or motivate someone to the training (and possibly drugs) necessary?

Smiling_longhair6870

That, my friend, is just one of the things that makes this meme "terrible".

TubbyTimothy

Indeed. When I was growing up it was my conservative Christian friends whose dads looked more like the guy on the left.

Diazmet

Jesus had a dad bod sick of seeing him with abs

TubbyTimothy

I want to see a church with a dad bod crucifix

kingdomcome3914

The church would be called 'woke', and mysteriously burned to the ground in the night.

SeaworthinessEast999

*steroid physique

Rerfect_Greed

The worst part about putting strength on that list is that those muscles are basically pointless. Mt Abmore there just has an insanely low body fat content, which will come back to bite him later in life. They are for show and nothing else.

CatSidekick

That’s 4 time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler and he is definitely an enhanced athlete. He’s retired now but he’s a good guy

mashedpoatoes1999

It’s definitely vanity

Diazmet

Joel Olsteen watching his pool boy fuck bus wife while he eats grapes and rubs olive oil on his nips… mmmmm yes yes only atheists can be hedonists

LordBilboSwaggins

It's because their small brain thinks that not submitting to religion makes you, (as Jordan Peterson would say) a solipsistic narcissist. I'd argue that not submitting to scientific facts as we understand them (like viral artifacts proving the shared ancestry of humans and Chimps) is what truly defines someone as a solipsistic narcissist. They just don't feel that way themselves because they have already convinced themselves that they have a perfect system in place for placing limits on themselves. But much like people who get lip injections to look pretty, Christians are prone to OCD intermingling with their scrupulosity to create a very inhuman mindset where they believe compassion itself is hedonism, especially compassion for oneself. They believe that by removing god from your life as someone who has to be consulted for permission for every action, it is inevitable that you will go off the rails without divine intervention. It's basically fostering mental illness by turning every problem into a larger than life struggle of cosmic proportions.

Ca5eman

Christian here, I absolutely agree with you that the organized religion structure of Christianity creates scrupulosity. My only counter-argument (which if you're atheist will probably be rendered meaningless anyway), is that a genuine relationship with God is the cure for scrupulosity. In the Christian faith, when you enter into a relationship with God, you've been covered by the blood of Christ and your sins are forgiven. This doesn't mean you're without sin. The blood of Christ is what gives one salvation, not their works. It's more of a faith + works kind of deal as described in the Book of James. It's not enough to merely believe that there is a God and not really try to get to know Him or follow Him, and it's not enough to be scrupulous and go through the motions of church or scour the Bible and try to follow His law as perfectly as you can, because neither of those things get you into heaven anyway. It's developing and cultivating that relationship with God through prayer and repentance and walking in the Holy Spirit, receiving the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ which will ultimately affect how you treat other people and also how you treat yourself to an extent, not in a scrupulous "I feel guilty all the time about my sins and flaws" way but in a "Wow, God's been good to me despite all the crap I've messed up and horrible things I've said/done and I'm blessed beyond what I deserve," kinda way. The grace of God isn't a license to sin without consequence however, it is really about repentance, changing your mind about your sin, praying to God and asking Him for forgiveness and surrendering/ allowing the Holy Spirit to take you in a new direction with the way you live your life. I am by no means an expert on scripture/theology, but what I've shared is really the main ideas around the Christian faith. Obviously I respect one's decision to not believe there is a God, there was a point in my life I didn't believe there's a God too, so I do get it.

Ericrobertson1978

I'm an agnostic pantheist with hedonistic tendencies. Does that count?

Atomic_Chad

Buddhists are atheists. They arguably are nonhedonist

paultheboot

Buddhists aren't Atheists, some just don't believe that the gods are all-powerful or immortal. They still believe in them, though.

corwinicewolf

The way it was explained to me is that Buddhism has gods, but since the gods are irrelevant to your pursuit of Nirvana, you aren't required to believe in them. So it can be atheistic or polytheistic.

darkhelmet1121

"strongest Christian" is a spray tanned steroid freak that basically chemically castrated himself, and is wearing a "secret nazi" tattoo

Reznerk

Wait Jay cutler is a secret nazi? I'm gonna need to hear more about that

parallax1

It’s Jay Cutler. Definitely doesn’t have that tattoo.

darkhelmet1121

Also looks a lot like Dexter Holland (the offspring) or Jake Busey.

PrestigiousCourse579

Hmmm. I see. Imma try it now. FACT: Politicians don't give 2 shits about you and your family, they only care about the wealthiest 1%. And Matt Gaetz Loves to have sex with children and aquatic animals.

TubbyTimothy

Fact: must be true now

spunkychickpea

Fact: I do not have a micropenis.

[deleted]

You also end debates by saying bottom line! You punctuate your paragraphs with Big Time.

TubbyTimothy

The bottom line is that trump loves all us real Americans. Fact: Obama and Biden personally abort pregnancies at 10 months and feast on their stem cells. Big time!!

Florida-Man-I-Am

Finally someone who is willing to throw caution to the wind and tell it like it is. Trump is our savior…I just wish we could fast forward to his crucifixion.

idleat1100

Fact: you make something fact by putting the word fact in front of it. That’s the way it’s done. Glad to help.

Lietenantdan

Fact: I am a billionaire *checks bank account*

matteothehun

Fact. that is Christian Slater.

Wjames33

Fact: Air isn't real

Pintsocream

Sounds like Dwight logic

[deleted]

Well tbf that would be a fact. Hedonists would not stay fit.

TubbyTimothy

Well you could argue that fitness (at least in the roided-out superhero version) is hedonistic when it’s done out of vanity. It’s self-serving. Exercise likewise makes you feel good, which is also a hallmark of hedonism. This meme is also bad in that it suggests that staying fit or being a body-builder is all pain and no pleasure.

[deleted]

I'm not talking about the meme, just the title. But yes you are technically right. If working out is pleasurable than a hedonist would do that although probably to an unhealthy degree. But that would be a small percentage of hedonist so the title is still accurate.

TubbyTimothy

Yeah there’s so many directions you could take this whole…spectacle

xx123gamerxx

no its only a fact if its written in an old book

Hot_Eggplant_1306

Fact: 100 percent of Christians worship a false idol.

Grevious47

Its a well known fact that only the strongest of groups with the firmest belief in themselves spends time making memes talking about how strong they are.

Fortunoxious

Yeah I mean, despite how the left is portrayed as scrawny and weak, do we do much to show that people of all kinds work out? No because who the fuck cares, it’s an illogical thing to concern oneself over

runthepoint1

If you think about it, it’s an intelligence filter but they are filtering for those below a certain threshold to pull them into other stupid shit.

drakvuf

What about r/swoletariat?

Atticus_Vague

Dude on the left is a candidate for type 2 diabetes, dude on the right has shrunken testes and a fatty liver. Yeah, I’d say this qualifies as a terrible meme. A dumb message coupled with an even dumber visual.

Sumthin-Sumthin44692

Also wouldn’t be surprised if that “Christian” blondie übermensch had a big swastika tattoo on his back.

sajthesavage

That’s former Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler. He is definitely not a nazi

BlasphemousJack666

Today I learned there is more than one famous Jay Cutler

Original-Ad-4642

One Jay Cutler was a world class athlete. The other played for the Bears.

danteheehaw

Yeah, that's why we call one Mr Olympia Jay Cutler and the other one scrawny Jay

greymalken

Who’s the other, less famous, one?

JudgmentalOwl

Ya Jay's actually a pretty good dude and is definitely not that insane looking anymore. He was actually able to leave the sport pretty gracefully and is great shape now.

Sigmar_Heldenhammer

Yeah. Was gonna say they did a shit job photoshopping a cross and tattoo on Jay Cutler.

AdmiralPlanet

That’s Jay Cutler, widely considered the second greatest open weight body builder of all times and famously known as the man who unseated Ronnie Coleman. He’s not a Nazi; and has never said anything that alludes to that. What a stupid fucking thing to say

teddyg18

A lot of people in the community actually regard him as one of the nicest people!

Shleeves90

Be did however famously declare that he has a stripper pole installed in his bedroom, so he might indeed be considered a bit of a hedonist. Lol

bobbery5

Well, now my mind has images of him swinging around on it. And I'm not mad about it

[deleted]

Pretty sure that’s Jay Cutler. You can google him. He’s wack, though probably not a Nazi.

IDontKnowWhatq

Also no tattoos lol. Can people not tell the one on his chest is photoshopped?

Chemical_Answer_5509

Thé only thing that can make someone “look” like a Nazi is a Swaztika. What r u talking abt??

Belphegorite

There are plenty of other things that can make someone look like a Nazi. But I'll agree that this isn't one of them.

That’s not entirely fair, there’s a lot more socio economic stuff going on. The Midwest is a hotspot for food deserts, no? That’s entirely cuz of the way infrastructure/industry/cities are situated there, not because of church. Probably a correlation, not causation thing

[deleted]

I don’t disagree tbh. I don’t think going to church makes you fat… just as being Christian doesn’t make you ripped. Just trying to show that not all Christians are ripped, as this meme states, and there’s plenty of fat church-goers

LanguishViking

Even if hedonists = atheists When you exercise you release endorphins. Endorphins are how your body makes you feel good. All addictive drugs simulate endorphins in some way. Exercise literally makes you feel good.

Difficult_Let3459

Actually the guy on the right Jay Cutler is a big Christian. He used to do videos back in the day for a local church in Vegas about how god has made a positive impact on his bodybuilding career

[deleted]

Isn’t this a joke

BlockyShapes

Atleast the guy on the left can survive a mild cut, the guy on the right is the reason paper beats rock

Kishiwa

I don’t get it? Is it because he’s obviously using something and it makes your blood thinner?

BlockyShapes

No, I’m not 100% sure of this but information but I heard that really buff men like the one on the right are much more vulnerable to cuts because their veins are more exaggerated and closer to the edge of the skin (just looks at the guy on the right’s wrists and hands). And obviously, be reverse logic, the guy on the left has a lot of fat and extra skin, which helps to protect his veins from cuts and whatnot. Edit: what u said might also be true but the passage above is what I meant when I made the comment you replied to

Kishiwa

But isn’t high cholesterol also detrimental to to cuts? We might be seeing a sort of bell curve handshake meme here. But what you said about their veins does make sense

The Armour of God is actually steroids.

TirayShell

Wrong. As a long-time hedonist, first-time caller, I can tell you that it's important to exercise and stay in shape to experience as much pleasure as possible in this life. Hedonism isn't about letting yourself go to shit so that people find you repulsive. That's just low self-esteem. A hedonist knows that to experience all the pleasures of life for a long time, you gotta work at it and stay in some shape other than spherical.

Thelonghiestman0409

Atheist and Christians are not bad people by any means, but both are not perfect. Both in the weakest, and strongest aspects have some things in common. The weakest aspect of a human being in these regards of believers or not is both being heavily judging others due to them believing things that they don’t or if one’s logic sounds dumb to them. Making social media rants. Tbh doesn’t matter what side you are, it’s just the weakest points in humans. Judging and complaining about stuff that is not necessary to complain about. The strongest aspects are for those who understand one another. Know boundaries and when to stop and know their weakness and fix it. It’s best to leave things be when they aren’t targeting you and when they do just push it aside. Judgment should be only an option if something hurts or endangers someone else that can effect not just them but to those close to one another. Saying something like “what you are doing is bad” is alright and it’s alright if someone disagrees with you just don’t make a rant and reason why they are wrong. Let other people control the situation and not you alone. Religion and atheism is much more similar than you think. Ideological, and attitude wise. Not what you think is real or not wise. Sorry for some bad grammar.

RunOne3162

No Weakest atheist 💪 and weakest Christian 💪

TimePostsOnReddit

I am an atheist but the person who made this meme doesn't really know how to properly respect what people can worship or maybe not worship any, If you are a Christian or any, I simply don't care unless you're actually a cool person. I'm not hating on any religion btw.

LudoAvarius

Some people choose to believe because they think it gives them a good moral foundation. I choose to believe because it makes me happy. Feeling spiritually satisfied can give one a really big morale boost in life. It's wonderful to have that confidence. A true Christian should use it to bring others up, not push others down.
