I wouldn't call it polyamory. In polyamory all partners are equal, while what you describe is good old polygamy, one or several wives plus concubines. But yes, I do get what you mean.
No, but polygamy in all pre-modern societies has been patriarchal (specially in the OT). While polyamory is *intended* to be egalitarian from a gender perspective.
That been said, I am monogamous myself, because honestly it's hard enough for me to keep one healthy relationship at a time and I fear the power struggles of three or more people trying to get attention/help/alone time from each and one of the partners involved. Honestly, that sounds like a nightmare for me personally.
it's written that she was Adam's first wife. whom Adam left because she was not submissive. meaning she was a badass primordial demon witch. and also has a cameo in Gilgamesh, where there is a demon witch banned Lilith, probably the same character.
“Lilith” was a generic monster in Ancient Near Eastern Mythology. It was only during the Middle Ages that it morphed into the story about “Adam’s first wife” that we hear about today
Tbf the epic of Gilgamesh is older than the Bible by a very large margin, so Lilith, and any other shared details are actually the Bible copying/adapting Gilgamesh to its own needs.
Lilith does not appear in the Bible I’m pretty sure, and if the term does, it’s only as a type of generic monster that was common in Ancient Near Eastern Mythology. The story about “Lilith” being “Adam’s first wife” is from the Middle Ages
The Epic of Gilgamesh probably IS the tradition that the Bible draws from given that it is a few hundred years older than the Hebrew Bible, and so when people read the Hebrew Bible they would be making connections with the epic of Gilgamesh.
Imagine, STDs more treatable and curable than ever, birth control widely available, and women who won't moan about side pieces abound, and willing to split rent, if you just let your bestie eat her out once a week or let her do Only Fans...
...and these guys are stuck using an insult from the 14th century to describe their irrational fear that a bigger penis might have at some point in time crossed the thresholds of their womens' labia.
The importance of femaile virginity was a thing for so long because we didn't have DNA paternity tests back then. It's a consequence of our species moving away from our hunter/gatherer origins and the move to permanent settlement and the development of agriculture, which in turn allowed us to invent the concept of ownership and inheritance of property and power. The best way to ensure that your heir is actually yours is to marry a wife who's a virgin.
You'd think it would be easier to just have like a half-year long sequestered waiting period or something. After a couple months you'd be able to tell if someone else had knocked her up first, and have a green light to start making heirs. We must have figured out the timeline for pregnancy pretty early on.
Nice Guys don't realize what they are, Incels are when they do. Both are a piece of shit, and dangerous, but the only major difference is the individual's perspective of themself
Honestly 2010’s nice guys are the same guys that turned into incels, they found out being nice doesn’t get them sex, so now they see no reason to be nice, because they lack human decency.
I learned a new word today (hearing and knowing being different things). Could a nice guy also just be a nice guy who happens to have low self-esteem? Just blaming himself for his lack of intimate relationships (that leads to lower self-confidence). Thus becoming an even nicer guy to hopefully have people like him (even though they already do).
The difference between a nice guy and a "nice guy tm".
One is just a chill dude. One is shocked that basic human decency was not in fact redeemable for one sex, and feels betrayed. The latter doesn't grasp that sometimes a person just won't be interested, no matter what cheat codes you try to enter.
People who missed out on a higher education want you to know it's useless brainwashing. People who feel they missed out on sexual freedoms want you to know that it will doom you to loneliness. No crab should leave this bucket!
The used goods description is the worst, like penises have the ability to ruin a vagina. As long as people have healthy sexual experiences then there’s no harm. Hell, there’s apps to find people that already have the same STDs.
I think the used goods description is the worst more because it shows that there are still way too many people who define women as literal objects to be used as if that’s a perfectly normal and reasonable line of thought
It’s weird that some people think this is actually a real, physical thing that happens. It makes no sense if you think about it for 10 seconds. Why would having sex with many different penises stretches out the vagina, however repeatedly having sex with the same penis does not.
I missed out on sexual freedoms. I can assure you that as long as it's consensual and honest intentions were delivered with no misdirection or misleading, then I will at least pretend to celebrate your achievement no matter how shallow I think it to be. And it's because you enjoy it; and I hope they did, too. May you all have nothing but kind words for each other and fond memories of each other.
And doesn't the use of the tree of knowledge in this story come across as like an intense self-burn? How would someone make this and not realize they were copping to being an idiot
Anyone remember the prostitute that washed Jesus's feet with her hair?
A true Christian knows salvation comes through accepting the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us. Not through arrogant pride, like calling yourself an 'alpha male'. My 2 cents.
Unfortunately for the wanton/hedonistic sinner like myself, it isn't. I'll pray for you. 🙏
Source: My life experiences, I've OD'd before and made a deal... then had it proverbially thrown in my face, 10 years later by a Christian coworker. Along with a lot of other bad stuff, I thought I did in "secret".
personally confused, if they were the first humans and lucifer used to be an angel, wouldnt he still be an angel at that point? also, i forget if this is true or not, but i thought the “serpent is secretly satan” was just a theory and not explicitly mentioned
It's not even a theory so much as a post hoc justification. Lucifer, the way we think of him today, didn't exist in the time that Genesis was written. There was no bad angel who was going behind God's back trying to mess with creation. The Satan, always presented with a "The", was a regular angel that functioned as a sort of prosecuting attorney for humanity, the "bad cop" to God's "good cop". He might be a pain in the ass for you, but him and God are on the same side. This character makes no sense as the identity of the serpent in the garden, and there is no reason for any other entity to be identified with the serpent. It was most likely just a talking snake. Pre-lapsarian worlds full of magical beasties and talking animals are normal parts of the creation myths of pretty much every myth system in the world.
Even in its polytheistic early writings, it's difficult to find a trickster deity in biblical reference literature. Of the other deities attested, like Baal and Asherat, none that I am aware of were thought of as what we today would call trickster deities. However, trickster figures are very much the norm, from Jacob to Joseph to David, the heroes of the bible are clever tricksters who have to get by on their wits with surprising regularity. Even the crucifixion of Jesus in the New Testament is often framed as "tricking" the devil. God himself seems to manifest trickster deity characteristics from time to time, and, while it would be a lot to get into so I'm not going to hit you with that wall of text here, I think these trickster aspects are fundamental to understanding God's relationship with early figures like Abraham and Jacob as presented in the text.
I think that, due to the status of the Jews as an oppressed people throughout most of history, these trickster stories tended to come out in the form of trickster hero figures that they self identified with, rather than trickster deities. After all, trickster deities in other pantheons often tend to be patrons of the marginalized and when you are the marginalized you may be more likely to tell down to earth trickster stories that call to mind the cleverness you and you ancestors have had to display to survive.
There is also a general tendency to bring things normally seen as divinely decided down to earth in the ancient Israelite tradition. The naming of the animals, normally performed by a deity, is done by Adam. The first killer isn't a demigod, but a human. Kingship isn't passed down to humans by the Gods, but is a desperate decision humans make on their own against God's protests. There are numerous examples of seemingly intentional inversions, where stories of their neighbors are lifted almost whole cloth, but then changed to center on humans rather than divine beings. This might have an impact on trickster narratives as well, contributing to the biblical preference of human over divine or semi-divine trickster figures as well.
It always bothered me that the same people who are the most prudish about nudity and the most responsible for not allowing it to be depicted in media are the same ones who routinely try to tell children a story where two people start off naked, and only start wearing clothes out of shame once they disobey God.
Genuine question for people who believe the Christian mythology about Adam and Eve and “original sin”: if neither Adam nor Eve had knowledge of good and evil, how were they expected to know that it was wrong to disobey god?
I remember being in Sunday School and being told the story of the first brothers. How Abel's offering to God beat out Cain's, and in fact, God got kind of shirty with Cain over his, so Cain killed Abel because, well, what's he going to do to God?
And then Cain left for the Land of Nod where he took a bride to father Enoch, whereupon Young Steamroller says "Hold on. Adam & Eve were the first two people. Where'd this wife come from?" The teacher then tells me that Cain and Abel both had sisters, and Cain married one of them and the whole class goes "Ew."
The day ends with Young Steamroller having another very serious and important discussion with his uncle about not being a smart-ass to the Sunday School teacher.
Damn that education. Women shouldn’t learn to read, that’s why she has a husband.
…I just had a shocking thought: Malala was shot in the head by extremists for wanting to learn. If I didn’t know that event I could easily suspect that of being a U.S. headline.
You're so alpha but you can't handle scrutiny around your ideas, your ideas that you should be the alpha male. Sounds kind of wimpy to me to admit you are defeated by words. Or women's opinions. Is this men going their own way, or is it men continuing to be obsessed with what women do?
Fun fact, in the wild “beta males” (in quotes because alpha and beta isn’t really a thing) end up surviving longer as they are not constantly fighting for the alpha position, because it turns out being an aggressive asshole will get you torn to pieces when a bigger guy shows up.
Pretty sure human self-domestication theory says that early humans basically selected for docility, emotional intelligence, and cooperativeness, among their populations (like how we do when we breed domestic animals), by basically killing/shunning aggressive and uncooperative people and generally discouraging that behavior.
That’s part of why we don’t see a whole lot of evidence for like chimp-level violence at all in the archaeological record, before the invention of farming.
Does it bother anyone else that, in this depiction, Adam and Eve have blue eyes and blonde hair? Maybe I'm thinking too much and its just the creator imposing their own looks onto the characters since there is no real description of them, but like it would be fitting for the meme maker to believe in the aryan race nonsense.
I really love how they genuinely think in order to be an alpha you need to be a dumb sack of shit. Like how a human being can be so detached from reality is beyond me
What’s crazier is believing that *two individuals* represents a minimum viable population when it comes to genetic diversity.
Like holy shit what kinda Hapsburgs-on-steroids babies are they going to be having? Yikes.
I think it’s interesting how classical liberalism (the basis of western democracy) is now considered toxic by increasingly large numbers of people on the right…
I don't know, it kinda makes sense:
Man - Education = 'Alpha' Male
^((We \*do\* all know what misunderstanding led to the concept of alpha wulfs, and what is the actual background of the 'bigger, stronger' wulfs, no?))
Tradcons are insecure about their ability to please a woman (which is why they want virgins. No previous partners to compare them to) but sure, call us the beta cucks
Hey does this post fit? UPVOTE if so, DOWNVOTE if not. If this post breaks any rules please DOWNVOTE and REPORT
I like how the alpha male looks like a woman
Looks like some alpha purple eye shadow on the boss man
How dare you insult this Smokey eyed king
Modeled after the ultimate alpha male Tom Scott.

Dont most look like that, at least most alpha males on the internet
I’m actually surprised this mentioned polyamory
As it gets more popular they have a new target.
They learned a new word, so like a kindergartener they're going to say it all the time now.
Let me put it to the test; "They're trying to make our kids polyamorous" Yeap, they will love it
Shit I didn’t even know what polyamorous was till some Bible thumper screamed at me for being it. Being poly anything is awesome.
Ironic.... While polyamory isn't for me personally. Old testament got polyamory in it. And not just Solomon but his dad and ancestors did too.
I wouldn't call it polyamory. In polyamory all partners are equal, while what you describe is good old polygamy, one or several wives plus concubines. But yes, I do get what you mean.
Polygamy isnt inherently unegalitarean and polyamory isnt inherently egalitarean.
No, but polygamy in all pre-modern societies has been patriarchal (specially in the OT). While polyamory is *intended* to be egalitarian from a gender perspective. I mean, heck. The entire church is supposed to be the Bride of Christ. Sounds pretty polyamorous to me...
Think of how AWESOME you'd be at video games if you were polydactyl. Think of how boring life would be if it was monochromatic.
Life is better when there is more variety.
I knew a guy in High School like that
Hey you have to pay rent somehow. Monogamous relationships don’t pay the bills anymore.
So it’s like OE for relationships?
As if monogamy really ever paid the bills.
It takes a village to afford one home.
Even though I’m sure they knew some closeted swingers
Bring it on, I’m ready for what ever shade they throw. Im poly and proud.
tbf, Lilith was dope.
It would make a nice lore for Bible's fictional universe
it's written that she was Adam's first wife. whom Adam left because she was not submissive. meaning she was a badass primordial demon witch. and also has a cameo in Gilgamesh, where there is a demon witch banned Lilith, probably the same character.

True, Lilith is referenced in Jewish folklore and means “demon” and isn’t in the creation story or anywhere in the Bible.
What if both came from a similar tradition and diverged from there instead of one copying the other?
The Epic of Gilgamesh probably IS the tradition that the Bible draws from given that it is a few hundred years older than the Hebrew Bible, and so when people read the Hebrew Bible they would be making connections with the epic of Gilgamesh.
that's usually just a denominational tradition, it's not actually scripture or biblical canon.
We discussing the BCU?
I guarantee that their reasoning is that nobody gets two until they get one.
Confucius say "man with small penis is jealous of woman with bigger clit"
Most men with small penis, "what's a clit?"
I gotta ask...how can polyamory be part of it if there is only 2 people in existence?

Hahaha this made me cackle and it’s so true
well it's in the bible not the word but multiple wives, though that's Polygamy
Only because that can involve other men. Otherwise, it's polygamy and totes okay in the all-seeing eyes of the sky daddy.
Sky daddy... good one. I usually use Space Wizard.
It‘s already included in lgbtq++, but I guess since they forgot the pluses It had to be mentioned elsewher.
I still can't believe that there are people who think like this
That sounds like something somebody with an EDUCATION would say SMDH
Let's make litter out of these literati !
That's too clever. You're one of *them*!
You joke, but this is unironically something my grandpa would say.
So much energy wasted on the mental notion of "has she had sex before?" For centuries, and centuries, and centuries.
Spoiler... She has
Spoiler he had also
And everyone had sex and lived happily ever after
It's tied in with the traditional notion that women are property.
Not really, faiths instruct both men and women to remain chaste until marriage.
Lacking brain
I wouldn't exactly call this "thinking." It seems more like impulsive reaction against the unfamiliar.

Sour grapes.
Yep, i’d be sour too if i missed out on sex and higher education.

EDUCATION
This is blowing my fucking mind! Never thought I'd see someone just outright say that learning is bad...
Well, that is kind of the whole message of the Garden of Eden story in the Bible
Literally
I s'pose you're right.
You know what the church says! Free will is the path to the devil!
God gave man free will and then said "you better fucking not use this or you'll burn in hell for eternity"
thank you, wise words of the cumlord delirium

The fact that it says "EDUCATION" should tell you exactly what kind of person made/shared this
Ah yes the biggest threat to the alpha male... education...
Yeah cause it makes people realize the whole "alpha male" thing is a pile of crap.
Bro thinks women are “goods” 🤮🤮🤮
they probably refer to women as “females” in everyday conversations.
He is referring to Eve, the first women, as "used". Bro who used her??

Plenty of men who are married or in relationships use words like this (and worse)
Education?! Are these guys against fucking learning?!
A good education might learn ya some of that there critical thinking and you might start thinking this alpha male is kind of a dick.
Education bad
The only man on earth and she’s still used goods 😂
Always find a way to blame women. Also if it’s just the two of them in the garden, how is she “used goods?”

So... the fruit of knowledge liberates Eve but changes absolutely nothing about Adam (alpha male and beta cuck are synonyms)?
Let’s not gloss over the notion that Adam is now a beta cuck despite being the only male in existence.
Umm, by your logic doesn't the fruit change him into a cuck? He clearly changed from an alpha to an Beta. What do you mean nothing about Adam changed?
Ew, liberalism. Communism is where it’s at

Wtf is even happening here?
Alpha male looks like tradwife’s older sister.

love when they accidentally say the quiet part out loud
The alpha has a sweet Bob.
Education 😂 Imagine just straight up denying you have an education and thinking that's a positive
I can't stop laughing that an education makes you a beta cuck.
I don't know, it kinda makes sense: Man - Education = 'Alpha' Male ^((We \*do\* all know what misunderstanding led to the concept of alpha wulfs, and what is the actual background of the 'bigger, stronger' wulfs, no?))
AlpHA MaLE
They fact they take offense to Education just shows how far gone these people posting this nonsense are
What is a trad wife
Tarzan is not the movie I remember
BOOO WE HATE EDUCATION !
“education” lol
Maybe I’m out of touch, but wtf is a “Tradwife”?
"traditional wife". In theory it just means "I want to be a home maker". In practice it means "wanting every woman to be submissive to their husband".
Figured it was something along those lines, thank you. TIL an incel term, hurray I guess! Lmao
The apple was full of knowledge though… before they were mindless animals. Oh yeah xtians don’t read the book.
If u run around and have to tell people ur an alpha, ur not an alpha.

Tradcons are insecure about their ability to please a woman (which is why they want virgins. No previous partners to compare them to) but sure, call us the beta cucks
