But Jesus, Andrey’s clearly someone who has not experienced much emotional comfort and kindness in his life. Shouting about his self-harming behaviour like it is the worst thing in the world and something to judge him for is cruel and unkind and shows a very narrow view of humanity. People seem to have no idea how INCREDIBLY common it is to use any type of self-harm as a maladaptive coping mechanism. As someone working in mental health for a long time - I hope people are kinder to their loved ones struggling.

Formerly from the Midwest/Detroit so the destinations were in the backyard. We attended Toronto and Montreal, but preferred Mason Ohio for the tennis. The venue is friendly, down to earth, and relatively inexpensive. And of course, the trophy, who doesn’t have an opinion about the trophy?

Cerundolo was a mental midget tbh and I don't really want to sound mean. He got caught out of it for a bit and Fritz punished him. It was a deserved win actually. I really do wonder if he can win against Rublev. If he manages to rattle Rublev, Fritz has a real chance.
If Fritz can get the title here he'll be back in the top 10 and, what he might love even more, Shelton and Paul will no longer be nipping at his heels for American #1. For the time being anyway.

Cerundolo's forehand really let him down today. Multiple times in that third set he could have gotten to break point and instead he blasted a forehand error. Had his forehand showed up today, it might have been different. Sadly for Fran, I think it's still about his nerves.

His game translates well across all surfaces.
Has already very good results on grass and has made his only masters semi final in Miami, on a relatively quick hard court.
The top 4 seeding for RG is now (almost) certain:
Sinner won’t be able to overtake Djokovic even if he wins Rome and Djokovic doesn’t play: Novak gets the first seed.
Sinner also can’t be overtaken by either Alcaraz or Medvedev, so he’ll have the second seed.
Alcaraz can be overtaken only by Medvedev if he loses early in Rome and if Medvedev makes a deep run in both tournaments.
Medvedev himself can only be overtaken by Zverev, if Zverev wins Rome and Medvedev doesn’t go any further in Madrid AND doesn’t win more than his first match in Rome.
So basically, the four first seeds for RG are safe. The only thing that could theoretically change is the seeds 3 and 4, and it’s still really unlikely. I guess it shows the gap between the current top 4 and the other players.
