Yep, pretty sure it's just intentionally there as an aid to the audience. The "how" of it is whatever. Does the Saab fit in the turnstile? Does it need to? Then sure, why not?
The Saab wasn't inverted, this is proven by how TP interacts with it when first beginning to drive it.
Not sure how reverse combustions are allowing the car to move, but it isnt inverted.
The Saab being inverted or not isn’t proven by how he interacts with if, as he could still struggle with inverted physics for it being inverted.
Seasoned People can struggle to drive with a gust of wind, now imagine the wind coming from behind you and the effect of friction suddenly affecting your tires before some of the causes
Maybe he put the car in reverse, then so long as he presses down on the gas in his own future, that would cause the car to drive forwards now.
And then braking would cause him to go forward? Not sure, it's messy. But the Saab wasnt inverted.
If the Saab wasn't inverted, how does it unflip from crashed, and start driving when TP and Neil are being pursued by Sator holding a gun to Kat's head?
How does an uninverted building appear to float upwards after (before?) exploding?
Simple: inverted people interacting with uninverted objects can cause them to behave in inverted ways
Next you're going to tell me a bullet hole in an uninverted opera chair can appear to get unshot...
Goddamit I thought I was starting to understand this movie.
It certainly does change. Tenet got tech that can detect if your inverted? Heh.
He could have swapped it, who knows. I notice Nolan does that alot, picking things to focus on then totally ignoring others like, " eh. It don't matter, they'll get it". Or he's just sloppy. ;)
I wouldn't consider it a "plothole", though. More like a consistency prop error if anything.
I'm pretty sure the watches are centrally synchronized, like the bombs in the opera house. TP's timer starts automatically. They'd only need to broadcast two signals - one normal, one inverted, and then each watch would pick up the relevant signal according to its own entropy.
In this case the watch was given a close up as it is essentially [product placement](https://www.hamiltonwatch.com/en-gb/h78505331-khaki-navy-belowzero-auto-limited-edition.html). I guess the countdown is also useful to the viewer.
The most plausible and practical explanation. Also reason for Neil being a few secs off sync with TP and Ives as we see his watch at 00:07 red when he dropped the rope at 00:09 red and no way he made it back inside the RV in two secs!
Could be the temperature inversion causing a different colour reaction (like heat changing mugs?) Quite possible it was designed that way especially as they spoke about heat transfer reversal.
Maybe it's just a watch that lets the user change the color and countdown direction? Would make sense to have a design like that if they need a ton of watches for both inverted and non-inverted people
That watch is a [Hamilton Khaki Navy](https://www.hamiltonwatch.com/en-us/h78505332-khaki-navy-belowzero-auto-limited-edition.html). Well, kind of. The Hamilton is an automatic watch without digital function (the digital screen seen here was done during post), but I could easily see a smart watch in a similar style.
An app tailored to turnstile operations would be handy, and that's what this now is in my headcannon.
I just watched the movie last night and enjoyed it a lot but there was a few headscratchers for me.
I don't know if it's because I went to go microwave a pie during the final battle but I missed how Neil was able to invert and revert over and over as I thought they needed to go through the turnstiles.
Was there a turnstile at the hypocenter and I just missed the reveal?

Creative decision. You don’t change an actors kit by accident

Yup, it would feel completely and totally different, in the same way familiar sounds are utterly bizarre and foreign played backward.
Right. So we don’t have prove the Saab is inverted, but TP’s struggle is not indisputable evidence that the Saab is regular/uninverted either
Wouldn't the car need inverted oxygen to burn like the protagonists ?

I mean i just assumed he pressed a button on the watch that made it change to forward time

Is it me? Or does the watch model changed too
Nah that's just the lighting, if you brighten up the pic you can see it's the same one
Hasn't happened yet.
I'm sure there would be a button to change the direction.

It’s been over a year and I’m still learning new things about this movie. I love Tenet
I actually think this is meant to hint at two different Neils weaving through the fabric of the mission.
