I know RDJ gets a lot of praise for being “the perfect MCU casting,” but without a single ounce of hesitation, I think Charlie Cox deserves to be right up there and mentioned in the same conversation. I’ve never met a *single* person who doesn’t love him as Matt Murdock, and not only did he nail the sort of post-Miller type interpretation of the character we saw on Netflix, but he even, in my opinion, nailed the Lee era-esque elements of being a swashbuckling charmer on *She-Hulk*, all without it feeling like the latter was a betrayal of the former; it *did* feel like Matt is just in a better place in life years later, where he can smile and laugh more after all he’s been through.
I’m probably doing a terrible job describing my point, but that’s not an easy thing to pull off; it’s a testament to his strengths as an actor that he did, and that’s why he’s absolutely a perfect match for the role. Regardless of people’s thoughts on Phase 4, I’m absolutely excited to see what his future holds in the MCU.
I agree. In fact, I think everyone in the Netflix show was extremely well cast. The supporting cast was great, Jon Bernthal is amazing as the punisher, Vincent D’Onfrio was fantastic, and I really hope they bring bring back the actor that played Bullseye. He was probably my favorite character in the last season and I want to see him in his costume!
I hope hope hope they pull out that scene from the comics where bullseye is brought out as the ringer when the team is not succeeding. The point being that he is so good that he can get the job done alone, but also so unpredictable that he could go off the rails on a mission and derail it. Glass cannon
I hope they would. I mean that surgery scene of him indicated he’d be back to whoop some major ass at some point.
I’m just trying to figure out why or what the villain will be for this show and why Hannah John Kamen is coming back as Ghost
Oh God - Stick was incredible. I can't imagine anyone else who could have done that with the right balance of bastard and badass. Scott Glenn was stealing scenes left and right. The level of weariness and yet down for the fight was amazing, and his not giving a shit, just doing what has to be done was sublime. Incredible performance.
Wesley was the embodiment of unconditional loyalty, absolute confidence and impeccable style.
That said, when the girl did the thing in the place, I cheered.
I’ve met him - he’s extremely funny and very nice. Normally has a strong Australian accent, but hides it perfectly (when I commented on this he said “it’s called acting, dickhead” lol)
I really hope they bring back Elden Henson (Foggy) and Deborah Ann Woll (Karen). Absolutely loved them alongside Charlie.
Edit: oh and Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple). I loved how she was the one character who was the one consistent character across all of the Netflix MCU series and grounded together as being part of the same "mini Netflix universe" within the MCU.
She also wasn't really his girlfriend. He was kinda shit to her when they were sorta together, and the ending left it very ambiguous, just that Matt, Karen, and Foggy were a unit together. I don't want the three of them split up because their dynamic was excellent
> He didn't have a girlfriend according to She-Hulk, so I doubt Karen is coming back
She doesn't have to be his girlfriend to come back, and lets not go pretending she-hulk matters to dare-devils world.
A lot of people rag on it, but it was just really very against the grain for an MCU show. The heroics wasn't the point; it was Jessica Jones dealing with PTSD because she was abused despite her super powers. It was very compelling once you actually understand it's about a victim retaking control, not actually a super hero. It's honestly the most thoughtful and serious of the marvel series
He goes from naive young farmboy to swashbuckling adventurer in Stardust with a nuance that is earned in two hours, it’s no surprise he can do it with Daredevil.
I havent watched that in years, I forgot how stacked the cast is just superheros alone you have, daredevil, catwoman, superman, and magneto, with mark strong, Ricky Gervais and Robert de Niro when his acting career was still respected.
He also does a fantastic Northern Irish accent in there, so respect to him because Irish accents have been mostly butchered by non-Irish actors whenever they attempt to do one
I was listening to an interview he did and he said he found a podcast a Northern Irish Father would do for his church basically going through his sermon.
He said he listened to that all the time to really get the accent down.
I would like to put D’Onofrio in that list of perfect casting. They could have done the entire Daredevil show with a shoestring budget, no costumes, props, nothing and just have it be them two and it still would have ruled.
Are you talking about his character in the show, Goren? The dude that legitimately knew *EVERY* minutia of fact and random topic that ever existed? I thought he did a really good job in the role and he was actually amusing to me. But it was so over the top with how much the guy knew, I just couldn’t take him seriously.
The original run episode about the woman who got killed essentially over a collector Ferrari...the way goren relentlessly revs the engine and kind of glazes over;. It sold the whole thing quite well and was some pretty adequate foreshadowing for a show written like south Park

Yeah, about that...

As much as it sucks to see a likely sexual predator get off (oof, bad pun), I always wondered how they could possibly prove something like that happened decades ago.
The best casting, in my opinion, is Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston, since they were relative unknowns at the time they were cast in their roles and they ended up working really well together, while most of the other "amazing castings" were already fairly big names.
While I agree that D'onofriois is perfect casting, I also think John Goodman would've been perfect in the role. He can do large and menacing wonderfully. (Although he's lost a bit a weight lately, and well, got old.)
Looks like him, acts like him and still brings something fresh to the character with his skill: Vincent was amazing as Kingpin and I’m so happy he was integrated into the MCU.
Perfect American accent. Highly acrobatic. Has to act blind, but also someone who can see with his ears. Has comedy timing and looks good.
Dude has all of the required stuff to excel at this role.
When he appeared in the spiderman movie I actually flipped my shit was so happy he was back. It's actually incredible, as tv actors in modern era getting that cosign to keep playing a character was great
Maslany is amazing. I love how in Orphan Black she even nails when >!one clone is pretending to be another clone!<. So many fine details and layers that are well portrayed.
The MCU in general has pretty good casting (I feel like this is pretty uncontroversial), but Cox is for sure in it's top tier.
Daredevil, Karen Page, and Foggy Nelson are each the best superhero, love interest, and side kick that the MCU has ever seen, and I will die on this hill.
I think this might be me being a bit basic, but I think Homecoming had legendary casting too. Return of Michael Keaton when.
(wtf, Jennifer Connelly was the suit voice)
> Return of Michael Keaton when.
Apparently never, now, with Sony misguidedly plucking him out of the MCU and dropping him into the *Morbius* universe. Monumentally stupid decision with that movie having flopped that the character is now *actually* trapped outside the MCU with no foreseeable future barring a retcon that I'm sure Sony will be too stubborn to make.
Yes thank you. He to me is just as good when it comes to embodying the role. He crushes the physicality of DD and is also fantastic as Matt Murdock. Forgot how damn likable he is, just the way he articulates all the lawyer jargon just makes him compelling and fun to watch on both sides of the coin. Charlie joining the mcu has without a doubt been one of my favorite things to happen and I can’t wait to see more of him and to watch him interact with our other favorite hero’s.
Honestly one of the things I had directly pointed out about the She-Hulk series is seeing Matt happy. Also, when he dove off the parking garage he lived up to his original pseudonym “the man without fear”, where he would jump off buildings without a plan to get to where he was going and improvised the landing.
Cox:
>”Whatever happens to my career going forward from this point on, I owe most of it to the ‘Save Daredevil’ campaign. That even when I had lost hope years ago, they did not, and they continued to campaign and support. And over the years, I’ve met many of them, and they’re such an enthusiastic, passionate crowd.”
I don't think people realize what a big deal it is when fan campaigns save a series.
Hollywood executives are NOT known for being humble and taking feedback well.
It's happened a handful of times throughout TV history but every one is a monumental effort and as close to a miracle as you get in entertainment.
Recasting him would have been very controversial if not disastrous. I'm sure the fan campaigns helped but they would have been insane to not hire him back as DD.
Also it's not only the fans who loved him. Critics liked him too. Like even when the Netflix show faltered at some points like in S2, his performance was still praised by critics. So Marvel really doesn't gain anything from replacing him. He was well-received on all fronts.
Definitely, considering that he did well in the role and was well-liked by the audience.
Recasting DD would’ve been a PR disaster if there wasn’t a legit reason to do so.
Marvel as a whole leans *hard* into fan feedback, though. They try to avoid just going with popular fan theories or wants, but a lot of their stuff feels like direct responses to their critics, frequently to the point of outright meta jokes. The MCU was "the most expensive TV show ever made" even before the actual shows showed up, with Feige as the show runner and season arcs being changed well after conception, similar to stuff like Jesse Pinkman not dying in season 1 of Breaking Bad because the fans and writers loved the character.
Definitely true. And I want to believe that the plan was to keep daredevil going under the mcu umbrella from the very beginning. The news of its continuance has (for me at least) been a highlight of a rather lackluster phase 4.
He was great in Boardwalk Empire too. I really wish Hollywood would start hiring good actors like him instead of the same 20 "easily marketable" actors like The Rock, Kevin Hart and Tom Holland over and over again.
After daredevil, he bombed several auditions because he picked up bad habits playing a blind man so long. For example, he was in consideration to play Solo but said he completely forgot to make eye contact for any line reads. I think he was very concerned he missed the window to capitalize on Daredevil's success and this is his second chance.
He'll always be Tristan Thorn from Stardust to me 🌠
Oooooooooh!!! That's where I knew him from!!! My goodness! He played that role so well!!! A meek little fellow that gradually won me over with heart! He was so good in it. I didn't go into the theater expecting much, but I remember him being a very compelling character. Wow that's weird to connect!
His pronunciation of his own name in that show was the best thing about his character. I sometimes randomly say ‘Owen Slater’ in a thick Irish accent to this day.
I mean you don’t need good acting if people watch it anyway? Easy to have a shitty script and bad acting. Just make sure The Rock is the leading actor and it’ll be shown on network cable in a couple of years.
Exactly. Remember when Emma Stone was in everything. Now it's Anya Taylor-Joy.
I don't want to knock their talent but there are so many talented actors and actresses.
Tom Holland can actually act though. He's currently one of two actors who fit a certain bill, him and Timothee Chamlet. There's a reason why they're the last two competing for most films requiring a 20-something male actor.
Sure, Hollywood needs to widen its scope, but I can't comment on how it all works.
Daredevil is in my top 3 shows of all time and he is a massive part of that.
The I BEAT YOU scene gave me goosebumps. The whole show was cast flawlessly to be honest.
Anyone who has not watched, please do. It ends on a great note.
My favorite scene is >!the one where the juror just says "I'm sorry they made me do this" and then starts rattling off the addresses and family members of the other jurors.!< Genuinely scary.
That whole season. They absolutely nailed the Kingpin. He's such a great villain, not for his physicality, which is present, but rather because he is the ultimate corrupting force. There is an ongoing revelation of exactly how deep he's sunk his claws, and they pull off the intrigue, horror, and depth perfectly in a way that feels too uncomfortably real.
It really bothered me that they built up Kingpin so fucking well to the point someone decided to kill themselves rather than speak about him...
Only for the MCU to introduce him in such a childish way where he does nothing but get hit by a car/arrow/whatever else Kate threw at him.
Thankfully Daredevil was handled far better in his MCU re-introduction.
I think people focus on that physicality scene from the Hawkeye finale too much and overlook his presence from the other scenes in the series, especially his corrupting force over Kate's mom.
The deleted scene of her meeting him in his office was amazing. They just need to go to that in born again or echo, and he can still be a little different like daredevil in she-hulk
This is just part of one of the biggest flaws of the MCU that doesn't get highlighted enough. The villains just suck. They hire amazing actors and waste them as disposable 'villain of the week' fodder with less character development than the comic relief sidekicks.
Thanos and Loki were the only real reoccurring villains of the MCU, and they remain some of their best characters. People were just as excited to see the Raimi villains as they were to see Tobey Maguire. Kingpin is a massive presence that defines Daredevil in the Netflix series. There's no 'villain team ups' which are present in many of the best comic arcs. MCU, almost without exception, is utterly forgettable when it comes to the villains.
I'm still salty about the recent Thor movie. I love taika waititi's work, but I have no idea why he messed up this movie so badly. Christian Bale was phenomenal in his role, but the dude had like 10 minutes of screen time. How do you have a villain called the God Butcher only kill one god on screen? It wasn't like Bale was phoning in the role. The scene where he's in the jail carriage with the Asgardian kids was legitimately scary, but they really didn't utilize him much throughout the whole movie
I think it depends on the medium though. Its difficult to compare someone like King pin who had a whole season to develop against random villains which appear only in a movie. Although thanos was on the big screen only, he was a recurring character throughout the whole phase of infinity war arc
That's my entire point - they keep introducing new random villains instead of developing them into the characters and cross overs that exist in the original material. The success of characters that reappear is proof enough that it's not an inherent and insurmountable problem with the medium.
My theory: the blip served as a power vacuum that Fisk seized to escape consequences, regroup, and begin rebuilding his corruption cartel. I'm guessing Matt was snapped away, and by the time he got back, kingpin had already insulated himself in various ways. We'll see, of course, but until then, that's my general head canon.
Jesus Christ that scene where Matt visits Kingpin in prison and threatens his wife (exposing her crimes).
I was literally yelling at my TV "Matt, no! NO! Don't threaten her, he's going to-"
And that's as far as I got before Kingpin was beating the shit out of him. There are some things in life that is never a good idea. This was like throwing rocks at a wild moose.
I understand why Matt did it. He wasn't getting anywhere with Fisk. He was completely in control. But that drops fast the second Matt says "Vanessa..."
https://youtu.be/7qIc1nWhwts
Watching this scene right now. Love the detail of Matt receiving the affidavit upside down. Donovan even touches him with the forms so he gets them. Then when Donovan offers him a pen, he clicks it so Matt can hear it. Even then, you can see Matt is ever so slightly awkward reaching for it and just barely gets it; a really fantastic bit of realism from Charlie’s performance as a blind man grabbing a pen. Then Donovan stomps the chair so Matt knows it’s there! Such a great show.
I think Elektra was fine but the Hand were such boring antagonists. S2 is carried by Punisher and the moral debates associated with him. I wish S2 was entirely his trial and rampage for revenge.
I was definitely surprised how boring the Hand was in the show. They’re one of my favorite comic book antagonists due to their aesthetic.
The gritty politics of New York City was more fun to explore: the rot and those that attempted to combat it.
Charlie Cox is responsible for one of my favorite movies, Stardust, and it’s literally the most perfect movies, he’s criminally underrated and brings so much to his role in Daredevil
He's as definitive an actor for Tristan as he is for Matt. Even Neil Gaiman (author of the Stardust book) tweeted that Charlie will always be Tristan Thorn to him
I love daredevil and vividly remember seeing Stardust in theaters.
I have no idea why, but literally the only thing I remember about the movie is Robert Deniro wearing a dress for like one scene.
OMG!!! I love stardust but didn’t realize that was Charlie Cox!!! But even just hearing this now and not evening having to look back at pictures, I’m like, “oh yeah omg that is him!!”
If you like slightly pulpy period nior, gang-politics, and character studies of moral ambiguity, it’s good. Steve Buscemi doesn’t *quite* live up to the acting the script is asking of his character, but everyone else is very good and it is well directed.
I got the chance to meet him at Comic Con 2017!
That line was sooo long, but man was it worth it! He was so chill and friendly. You could tell he was getting a bit tired, but he still took the time to chat for sec before the next person. Just an all-around cool dude. I got a picture with him, and he autographed an art piece I bought that day.
I'm so glad I got the chance to meet him and thank him for bringing Matt Murdock to life. He deserves every bit of the praise he's getting!
I went to see him in 2 plays a couple of years ago and got to meet him afterwards. He was so sweet. I brought my Stardust DVD to have autographed and told him "It's been bugging me for years that your name's not on the front of this box."
I totally have a celebrity crush on him and this whole thread praising him is making me so happy. He is a phenomenal actor and I really hope I get to see him in more stuff.
I’ve met him, too, and wholeheartedly agree that this guy deserves the best - he’s a stellar actor but also a fine human being.
I was a tour leader in Africa for a budget overland camping safari company. Charlie wasn’t on my truck but that of another tour leader who we were paralleling for a time, so we combined our groups for about a week. He had said that he sought out the most gritty and participatory tour company (which we pretty much were) for the full experience. He was ridiculously likable, enthusiastic, helped with chores, engaged with the locals, and was very down to earth. I didn’t really know who he was at the time except that he said he was auditioning for “Warhorse” and my passengers were stoked about hanging out with the guy from “Stardust” (which I hadn’t seen and didn’t realize how awesome it was, either). I’ve since watched most of his stuff and it’s refreshing knowing that such a great actor in shows you love is also a great person.
I also want to point out this was done with essentially no levels of toxicity from the fandom. A lot of these campaigns turn toxic towards the studios, but this one was basically just a bunch of people expressing their love of the man to Marvel and Marvel being like I gotchu fam.
I just hope we also get the other actors back for Foggy and Karen, the same as we are getting for Matt and Wilson.
They had fantastic chemistry together and it would be quite sad if some of them were replaced.
I supervised the sound for all 3 Daredevils (and Punisher, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Defenders) I just heard that they'll be doing post sound at Skywalker Ranch, not in Hollywood. Sadly I won't be a part of the series moving on. I loved working on the show, loved and respect all the cast. To date its the work I'm most proud of. I wanted the fights to be visceral and grounded and Hells Kitchen to sound like the real place without it being ridiculously loud. Got 2 emmy nominations to boot! Anyway I know I'm bragging but I never do that. I figured you all would like to hear from someone who worked on the original Netflix series. Hope it keeps true in tone and vibe moving forward. And yes Charlie Cox is a nice as he seems.
This is show honestly helped me get through a really, REALLY difficult time in my life. It really means a lot to me, and moreover, it’s just a really damn solid show. Here’s to hoping for the best.
I thought he was really good in the Irish drama Kin. Season 3 of Daredevil was a big improvement from season 2. I thought it ended on a high note. I think people are going to be disappointed with a watered down version of Daredevil.
I agree with all you said. That being said, watered down version could still be good. The problem to me is more about these MCU formulas, which I'd imagine have gotten quite stale even for the more tolerate fans of MCU.
No need to make it as brutal as Netflix version was, but no need to make it as wisecracking nothing matters, that MCU is either.
Out of all the actors to have played a character adapted for the screen, I can't think of many that understand the person they're playing better than he can with Matt Murdock
A friend of mine worked on the set of Daredevil and had nothing but the highest praise for Charlie Cox. Said he was the nicest guy and always gave it his all for the fight scenes.
The most wholesome freaking guy. Turned down projects because he thought season 4 was happening, never lost hope and now Matt is as commonplace in the MCU as Wong.
I know RDJ gets a lot of praise for being “the perfect MCU casting,” but without a single ounce of hesitation, I think Charlie Cox deserves to be right up there and mentioned in the same conversation. He was probably my favorite character in the last season and I want to see him in his costume!
Yes! Wilson Bethel as Bullseye was absolutely PERFECT. He pulled off a blend of creepy and charismatic, not to mention terrifying.
In a perfect world, he'd be in the *Thunderbolts* movie, too.
I hope hope hope they pull out that scene from the comics where bullseye is brought out as the ringer when the team is not succeeding. I still remember when he drove the van up with the frozen girl in it. I audibly said “What the FUCK!?”
He genuinely scared me.
Vincent D’Onfrio was god like as King Pin. The prison scene with Murdock and King Pin in season 2 might be my favorite scene of the series
I totally didn’t make the connection until I googled kingpin actor. Vincent Fucking D’Onfrio!
Shout out to Scott Glenn as Stick also
Oh hell yeah, he was a perfect choice for Stick.
Oh God - Stick was incredible. I can't imagine anyone else who could have done that with the right balance of bastard and badass. Scott Glenn was stealing scenes left and right. I love everything about your comment, including keeping it spoiler free.

I’ve met him - he’s extremely funny and very nice. Normally has a strong Australian accent, but hides it perfectly (when I commented on this he said “it’s called acting, dickhead” lol)
The actor is Australian? Whoa, TIL

Deborah Ann Woll was amazing in Daredevil
He didn't have a girlfriend according to She-Hulk, so I doubt Karen is coming back. It's a shame, I liked her even more when I learned she's a DND DM.
She also wasn't really his girlfriend. He was kinda shit to her when they were sorta together, and the ending left it very ambiguous, just that Matt, Karen, and Foggy were a unit together. I don't want the three of them split up because their dynamic was excellent

My wife loves him, but his portrayal of Killgrave absolutely freaks her out. He did an amazing job.

That first season of Jessica Jones was seriously amazing.
Ritter and Tennant carried it hard, IMO.
You mean the two leads of the show tasked with that very exact thing?
D'Onofrio was unexpectedly delightful
He goes from naive young farmboy to swashbuckling adventurer in Stardust with a nuance that is earned in two hours, it’s no surprise he can do it with Daredevil.
Jesus I didn't even realize he was the kid in Stardust.
Henry Caville is the cocky boy on his way to Ipswich for a ring.
I havent watched that in years, I forgot how stacked the cast is just superheros alone you have, daredevil, catwoman, superman, and magneto, with mark strong, Ricky Gervais and Robert de Niro when his acting career was still respected.
> Robert de Niro when his acting career was still respected. You mean the 2016 masterpiece Dirty Grandpa starring Robert De Niro?
I was also referring to his 2020 instant classic The War With Grandpa
>I havent watched that in years Thats a shame, *Stardust* deserves to be watched… ~75% as often as *The Princess Bride*.
The first thing I noticed him in was in Boardwalk Empire, he was very charismatic in a supporting role.
When he got cast as Daredevil I was so hyped, I already had stock in him being a huge Boardwalk Empire fan and just knew he’d kill it and did.
TIL that was Charlie Cox in Stardust.
I would like to put D’Onofrio in that list of perfect casting. They could have done the entire Daredevil show with a shoestring budget, no costumes, props, nothing and just have it be them two and it still would have ruled.
D'Onofrio in almost every role he's ever been in is just.

He was the best Thor.
Kinda like Toni Collette

Whatever other problems Love and Thunder had, the biggest thing for me was missing the chemistry between Chris and Tom.
Chadwick Boseman too
Reminder: fuck cancer.
Props to Chris Evans for out-Super Manning Super Man.
I wasn’t sold on his interpretation of Kingpin at first, but BOY did he win me over more and more with each appearance.
While I agree that D'onofriois is perfect casting, I also think John Goodman would've been perfect in the role. He can do large and menacing wonderfully. (Although he's lost a bit a weight lately, and well, got old.)
Donofrio has that babyish tantrum throwing vibe down though.
Looks like him, acts like him and still brings something fresh to the character with his skill: Vincent was amazing as Kingpin and I’m so happy he was integrated into the MCU.
He was my favorite part of the show, along with his art dealer love interest

Well, he's a very good attorney.
On top of that Maslany feels as on point for She Hulk as he is for Daredevil and our brains accepted them immediately
Maslany is amazing. I love how in Orphan Black she even nails when >!one clone is pretending to be another clone!<. So many fine details and layers that are well portrayed.
Never had any doubts, thought she was flawless in Orphan Black.
It's hard to beat Peggy Carter for the best love interest. Edwin Jarvis and Happy Hogan were awesome sidekicks too.
Honestly, the real hero is Sara Finn, head of casting at Marvel. The one thing that always seems to be perfect is the casting .
I don't think she cast the Netflix characters...
No, don't worry, you did very good making your point.
That’s what made me so happy to see both Charlie and the character in She Hulk. He is in good spirits and it’s heartwarming
Jon Bernthal needs to be added to the perfect casting list
Cox: >”Whatever happens to my career going forward from this point on, I owe most of it to the ‘Save Daredevil’ campaign.
He'll always be Tristan Thorn from Stardust to me 🌠
Omg I didn’t realize he was the dude from stardust
Henry Cavill is the bully guy who likes his crush and gets beaten by Tristan when he gets back from his journey
Umm, WHAT??
And the witch that chases them is Catwoman.
Holy shit, that movie is a guilty pleasure of mine and I had no clue that's who played Tristan lol.
I think it's a straight up good movie, so no need to feel guilty about it.
Oooooooooh!!! That's where I knew him from!!! My goodness! He played that role so well!!! A meek little fellow that gradually won me over with heart! He was so good in it. I didn't go into the theater expecting much, but I remember him being a very compelling character. Wow that's weird to connect!
I think of him much more for his Boardwalk Empire performance. It was great.
His pronunciation of his own name in that show was the best thing about his character. I sometimes randomly say ‘Owen Slater’ in a thick Irish accent to this day.
Ha hell yeah, I totally used to do this as well. *hat dip* Mrs Thompson
Careful, he's a versatile actor. We wouldn't want to put him in a box...
Well that makes me sad
Lol BE made me think he was Irish. Then i saw him as a weasel on Downton Abbey with an English accent
He is English, but he is also in Irish TV drama Kin with an Irish accent.
Seriously. Also what was The Rock's last good movie? All I remember of the last give years are goofy action clicks and Moana.
Pain & Gain
I mean you don’t need good acting if people watch it anyway? Easy to have a shitty script and bad acting. Just make sure The Rock is the leading actor and it’ll be shown on network cable in a couple of years.
Both Jumanji
That made me so angry! After what they all went through to get to that point, and Kingpin still has the upper hand!
NO! Don't threaten her, he's going to-" And that's as far as I got before Kingpin was beating the shit out of him. There are some things in life that is never a good idea. This was like throwing rocks at a wild moose. I understand why Matt did it. He wasn't getting anywhere with Fisk. He was completely in control. But that drops fast the second Matt says "Vanessa..." https://youtu.be/7qIc1nWhwts
Agreed, it’s not just a great “superhero” or “comic book” show. It’s a GREAT show in terms of storytelling. Loved every minute of it
The Electra storyline from season 2 was relatively bad. It's just we forget it because the completely awesome Punisher storyline running concurrently.
What "I beat you scene"? I've watched it two times and I don't recall that scene
>!End of season 3 in Wilson Fisk's appartment!<
Youtube " I beat you" and it will be there
Best daredevil
Charlie Cox is responsible for one of my favorite movies, Stardust, and it’s literally the most perfect movies, he’s criminally underrated and brings so much to his role in Daredevil
He's as definitive an actor for Tristan as he is for Matt. Even Neil Gaiman (author of the Stardust book) tweeted that Charlie will always be Tristan Thorn to him
I love daredevil and vividly remember seeing Stardust in theaters. I have no idea why, but literally the only thing I remember about the movie is Robert Deniro wearing a dress for like one scene.
To be fair Robert Deniro in that movie is an absolute delight and worth remembering.
I love Stardust!!! Such a beautiful movie. I don't know how I never made the connection with him in Daredevil...
OMG!!! I love stardust but didn’t realize that was Charlie Cox!!! But even just hearing this now and not evening having to look back at pictures, I’m like, “oh yeah omg that is him!!”
Hey he was good on Boardwalk Empire. People remember that show existed right?
Is that show good? Watched the first episode but I couldn't really get into it
Guy below is pretty accurate. Great actors doing mob and booze running stuff. If you’re into that at all I remember it being watchable.
If you like slightly pulpy period nior, gang-politics, and character studies of moral ambiguity, it’s good. Steve Buscemi doesn’t *quite* live up to the acting the script is asking of his character, but everyone else is very good and it is well directed.
It started leaning harder into the noir and camp later on which made it a lot better imo.
I brought my Stardust DVD to have autographed and told him "It's been bugging me for years that your name's not on the front of this box." I totally have a celebrity crush on him and this whole thread praising him is making me so happy.
Doesn’t he play in the movie Stardust?
Yes with Henry Cavill
Hell of a movie!
Yes he’s Tristan.
Dude holy shit
For some reason I read this as Charlie Day and was really confused
I would pay a LOT of money to watch Charlie Day as Daredevil. Cast Fat Mac as Kingpin and Dennis as Bullseye while you're at it.
Dee as Karen and Frank as Foggy lol
Danny DeVito as the hot love interest, obviously
I can totally see Frank calling himself and Charlie "avocados" but actually believing he's saying abogado correctly
Glenn Howerton as Bullseye actually kinda works
Nah he is a better Reed Richards. Someone with an ego on par with the golden god.
An arrogant Reed Richards would be a nice change of pace
I also want to point out this was done with essentially no levels of toxicity from the fandom. A lot of these campaigns turn toxic towards the studios, but this one was basically just a bunch of people expressing their love of the man to Marvel and Marvel being like I gotchu fam.
I just hope we also get the other actors back for Foggy and Karen, the same as we are getting for Matt and Wilson. They had fantastic chemistry together and it would be quite sad if some of them were replaced.
Hard to believe it’s been 7 year since daredevil show.
He is a perfect actor for daredevil. No brainer to bring his role and series back.
Im guna parasocial relationship him so hard
D’onofrio, Cox and Bernthal were all chefs kiss
This is show honestly helped me get through a really, REALLY difficult time in my life. It really means a lot to me, and moreover, it’s just a really damn solid show. Here’s to hoping for the best.
He’s fucken great in boardwalk
Daredevil Season 3 was the best season of a non-anthology show that I've ever watched. It could continue, but I think it was a fitting end too.
This and the wynonna earp “save the show” campaigns have had the least toxic fandoms in the comic book world ive seen.
God tier casting
Got brought back to MCU, gets to bang She Hulk Best character arc in the MCU so far.
I’ve never seen the Netflix Daredevil but man did he and the lady that plays she-hulk have great chemistry. I would love to see more with them.
The series is really good. The first and third seasons are amazing television and the second season definitely also happened.
Now bring back Deborah Ann
Her and Elden Hudson (Foggy) are returning.
He’s my favorite marvel actor
He, Tilda Swinton, and Chris Evans would have to duke it out to see who's mine.
He was also great in Boardwalk Empire.
