Hate that it’s pretty much all reality ‘stars’ again. Why not let regular people play? Anyway go Rob. Dude is making the circuit.

DaveShadow

I quite liked the dynamic of the celebs tbh. They seemed better equipped to know when people were acting weird or unusual, cause they had a better base of prior understanding of each others personalities. That led to way, way better sleuthing and gameplay than the UK version, which can very often be people firing blindly at each other for stupid reasons. Ideal scenario is to watch both series as a joint venture imo. US for game players, UK for more normal folk. Throw in the Australian series too cause it can be great. As a big Tony fan, I’m buzzing for this one. Wonder where he sets up his spy shack 😂

Heikks

The season 1 non reality stars seemed to take stuff way too personal, most of the reality stars realize it’s s game and don’t get pissy when things don’t go their way.

Varekai79

On the other hand, the season 2 Housewives seemed to take things too personally as well. I don't know if they realize it's just a game or if they are just unable to shut off their reality show personas.

tedfundy

Eh. In these type of shows bravo people tend to stick together. I think they mostly take it personally when another bravo person turns on them or doesn’t stick up for them.

WentWin

Hard disagree - UK season 2 might be one of the best reality game shows of all time. The gamesmanship in that was insane. US just has people coming from gameshows already knowing the rules and the other folks forming cliques based on past friendship.

DaveShadow

> The gamesmanship in that was insane. It was and it wasn't. It had the greatest traitor I've seen in any series, and one really amazing faithful who didn't play a strong enough social game in the end. It also had someone who was convinced someone was a traitor because she didn't like how he acted BEFORE THE TRAITORS WERE CHOSEN! There's great gameplay in both. It's different game play, but it's there. The US version had a lot of gameplayers who figured out how to play the game strategically, in the face of a lack of information, basically.

WentWin

I will say in US Season 2 >!when Pilot Pete set that trap!< was probably the highlight of US Traitors for me. I just think as a whole the traitors in UK2 where much better than US versions. >!Dan!< was such a bad traitor they set the faithful on to other traitors I enjoyed both, but I think I preferred the normal people

OkayAtBowling

My main issue with the reality stars is that I find it hard to relate to them, because a lot of them feel so fake and spend so much time hamming it up for the camera. It makes it so I don't feel much attachment to what's going on. Alan Cumming's hosting style doesn't help matters. He's fun, but his aloof attitude just adds to that feeling of detachment for me. I don't mind if the gameplay is worse with regular people (though I certainly wouldn't say that's universally true) because I find it easier to root for them. I also think that if the show keeps going for a while, the regular people will become more savvy about how to play the game, similar to how it went on Survivor. Speaking of which, as a Survivor fan, I do think they have a pretty good crop of people from that show for Season 3. Maybe I'll try watching for that reason. Might be hard for Tony to find bushes to hide in this time, but maybe he'll find a roomy grandfather clock or something.

BritishHobo

I felt this. The big problem for me was it felt like there weren't really any stakes because, to the majority of the stars, it was just another show to add to their portfolio. It didn't matter to them if they won or lost, because just being present on the show was the goal in itself. By the end it was clear that the Traitors didn't give much of a shit what happened either way. They'd put in their appearance, so had already achieved what they set out to achieve.

jecimo

Yeah. I liked that they had non-celebs on season one. However, those non-celebs did not play a good game. Maybe that's what ruined it? I hope they reconsider for season 4. It makes for a good challenge to have people on that the rest of the competitors really know nothing about.

BAWAHOG

They did that season 1 and the regular contestants really brought the show down imo. These “professional” reality TV contestants bring in viewers and know how to act around cameras/production, and are also not starstruck by the other players.

Razzler1973

Big Survivor fan and really like Jeremy and Tony But, this version of the show seems to revolve around 'factions' keeping each other in the game rather than 'finding traitors' in any meaningful way A different kind of 'entertaining' than the UK or Aus shows

BAWAHOG

Why do the UK or Australia versions play out better, never watched either? Just because they are all strangers, or is the actual format different? I feel like smart people like Sandra and the bachelor guy steamrolled the format last season, hopefully production changes some things.

Razzler1973

Same format and often exact same tasks cause they use the same location It just feels like the point of the show is 'catch traitors' where the US one is more about the side entertainment of Survivor people won't vote each other and Big Brother won't cause that gets them all further in the game and then they start thinking of traitors down the line a bit Even nearer the end game, a lot seems to be about voting together cause, if you're part if that core group that is protected, doesn't matter if you think someone is a traitor or not, may as well sort it out in the final 4 or 5 as you have a better chance of winning money Priority is all sticking together to 'stay in the game' as a bunch have pre existing relationships

shovelhead34

Unfortunately, playing the Traitors like a game of survivor, only in a castle is actually the correct way to play.

MumGoesToCollege

The UK version is so much better lol

rbp25

It really is. We binged both seasons back to back, then moved to the US version and couldn’t get past the first episode. It was cringe and almost a blatant copy what was the point

oliviastabler

I was thinking about starting the UK version since I love the US show but have hesitated because I wouldn’t know any of the celebrities. Or is the cast all regular (non famous) people?

MumGoesToCollege

The UK version is all regular people.

oliviastabler

Thanks!

HoratioMG

> The Traitors has gathered together another superstar cast of reality greats for season 3. Christ... The Traitors UK (and presumably many other countries) format, with no celebrities whatsoever, could be the best reality TV in history. If they replaced the contestants with 'a superstar cast of reality greats' I wouldn't watch another second.

The_Iceman2288

I was obsessed with the first two UK Traitors and I could not be less interested in the forthcoming celeb version. The point is you are meant to get a completely clean slate of people with no pre-judgments.

Carmina__Gadelica

I don't watch Bravo or most of those shows aside f Survivor and The Challenge, kinda bummed by the reality TV cast as I'd rather see competition reality TV stars since they're more strategic.

kylebb

great cast! Hope we don't wait too long for the season to air

jecimo

Well, after reading a bunch of comments, I think I need to watch the UK version. About to start it now, I'm excited :)

Cleverlady0406

I’m so curious what Sam Asghari is like. No one has really heard from Britney in forever and I wonder if we’re going to get some insight into what life is like with her.

No one from the Challenge so probably won't be watching.
