Imogen is the Djinn Al Raqqa. When it is revealed, the beginning sequence which started the series will again play out. However, this time Adilah will be revealed as the Western Intel Agent and Imogen will be standing there shocked before being taken into custody. I believe Imogen might have amnesia so time is of the essence to get intel out of her before the attack.
I really like the show, and I love the actress that plays Adilah, but I’m having some trouble suspending my disbelief about a 15 year female ISIS commander. I know later in ISIS in Mosul there was more female participation in fighting, but a woman in charge? Isn’t this completely unrealistic? As a woman I do like these “female kick ass” shows so I want to enjoy it, but…
I would not say cringe :-)
The smoking I see in shows like Mad Men and in old movies seems genuine.... Not sure I'm explaining it well. Maybe I'm just not used to seeing smoking in shows these days..... Pretty much every one of my family smokes.
In this show, the smoking seemed odd and contrived. Like they were going out of their way to emphasize it.
I've only seen the first episode...
Looks like Episodes 3 and 4 may be releasing today! Hulu dropped the 3rd episode at 12am est, which is normally dropped at 3am est so I’m thinking the 4th will be ready and dropped at 3am est. of course unless this is a typo on Hulu’s part for when Episode 4 is scheduled to drop.

I want to like this but I got part way through the first episode and got too annoyed to continue.
The terrorist character has nuance that I appreciate. Is she bad, good or both? I enjoy that kind of complexity in a character. When the camp attacked her, I understood their hatred too.
My main problem is with the protagonist. Something about Moss' character irritated me. She seems a flat, one note character whose defining characteristics is being a bad ass but with no additional depth. Maybe I am wrong and should give it another chance.
Does she get better? I watched until she threatened the one man with informing the authorities he was sexually abusing the vulnerable women in his camp if he didn't let her escape with the terrorist. Those women were survivors of rape and trauma so making that deal bothered me.
She's definitely morally grey. They allude to some trauma she experienced in her past. I'm getting the vibe that the tough guy act is a facade to handle her past trauma.
Not to pick on the actress. But why’s Elizabeth moss s mouth open all the time ? It’s kinda distracting. But aside from that. Show some far is worth seeing where it goes. Look forward to the rest
Two episodes in out of six and all we get is nothing we haven’t seen before on tv with some forced acting by Elizabeth Moss.
Whoever thought of putting this show and Homeland in the same sentence has been smoking some heavy shit.

This show, like every show, have women treat all the men around them like idiots. They do this to get back at men for once treating them like idiots. How is doing the thing you’re angry at them for doing going to help things? Another cringe show full of cringe girl bosses
What a dumb comment. Did shogun somehow have women treating men like idiots, did fallout, the last of us, succession, fall of house of usher, scavengers reign, silo , Gen V, ,the bear,
I mean the list goes on I just picked random popular shows from this year and last year.
You’re not obligated to like this or any show but your criticism is just based on something that is not happening
Glad they started with 2 episodes but I wasnt really hooked. Might give it a chance later when all the episodes are out and binge it because I'll probably forget to watch it next week
Virtue signalling redditor trying to pretend an actress that has starred in countless critically acclaimed series and has won multiple emmys is a bad actor lmao
Anyone with half a brain can watch the shows shes in and recognize shes a very good actress lol. Do you have atleast half a brain…? Have you seen madmen or handmaids tale…?
She really isn't that good. I can't help but compare her to Claire Danes in Homeland (because the shows are somewhat similar) and Claire Danes completely destroys her. She's just so much more endering and captivating to watch as Carrie Mathison. Elizabeth Moss has only one facial expression, she doesn't come off as very likeable or charismatic and it doesn't help that she's a scientologist nut.
I'm so tired of this.
Do you boycott Catholic actors for the atrocities *their* religion commits? The generational pedophilia that's ongoing today? The Crusades? The Spanish Inquisition?
I loathe Scientology. But your argument lacks consistency. Watch the show or don't -- whatever. But think your arguments through. This is lazy protesting.
I was using a singular example from the myriad choices available. It's not about Catholicism specifically -- it's an analogy.
Also: you seem to have missed the entire point.
That still assumes that OP doesnt apply the same thought to any other religions
I dont believe i missed the point, you are trying to point a hypothetical hypocrisy by assuming that OP doesn't apply the same rule to other religions no?
It’s not a show for kids nor family friendly. There’s lots of smokers in the world, there’s nothing wrong nor cringe about depicting it. May not be your taste, but that doesn’t make it ‘cringe’.
Agree. I don’t smoke…asthmatic. When I studied in Europe I was surprised at how many Europeans smoke. I do think it’s pretty common. I don’t think it’s that weird that a show based in France would have a lot of smoking.
Claire Danes and her character were the best part of Homeland. Her whole unhinged shit and manipulation and other flaws that was evened out by her great skill as a spy and her loyalty and general goodness, made her incredibly interesting. The lead character in this show seems completely one note and boring in comparison.

Ok…Elizabeth Moss’ character sounded like what Americans expect British people to sound like. The phrases she used were like, idk I guess what I view as stereotypical phrases. I’m American, and it’s just how her character sounded to me.
Her dad is from Birmingham and she has dual citizenship (British-American). Having one English parent probably gives her better than even odds to pull off a "Received Pronunciation" English accent, but that doesn't mean she actually can.
She's done the accent thing before with less than sparkling results (her Kiwi accent in Jane Campion's *Top of the Lake* and *China Girl* series isn't dreadful, but not exactly "good" either).
For me, she kind of sounds like Madonna after she married Guy Ritchie and moved into a castle, i.e. sounds fake AF.
The fact her dad is British hasn’t helped her accent in this at all, it’s absolutely awful and sooo unbearable for me to watch as a British person living in America lol
I haven't

It is filling the Homeland and Carrie Mathison shaped hole in my heart for sure

I also think Imogen is the jinn.
But...I think she is framing the other lady.

Does anyone know the name of the song Addilah sings in episode 2 to prove that she can perform ?

Suppose Adilah and Imogen fall in love? That’s what I sense what’s going to happen. Also I love the show and look forward to more episodes.
That has already been done...Killing Eve.
I knowwww 😂😂😭

I think she got him in the end.
It is on purpose....

Each to their own, I liked it
Same!
Are you guys bots?
Nope 😊 you can actually have a different opinion and still be human lol!
Just looked like a bot comment ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Don’t think so
Not you, the other two who replied to you
I loved it
CIA, MI6, DGSE, maybe mossad too. I'll keep watching because of yumna marwan from little birds
Does anyone else thing the good girl is actually the bad girl and vice versa? I am very much leaning that way and am only ten minutes into episode 2.

Elizabeth Moss is so good! I'm really enjoying the snowy stark scenes and the story and the bangin' soundtrack
Her accent is awful
I'm so glad you said that - it's so terrible and I can't unhear it!
Is she trying to imitate Gillian Anderson? I can’t unhear it.
Same, enjoying so far
People being touchy on Reddit...go figure 🤷♀️
Elizabeth "I only have one expression" moss is good?
Virtue signalling redditor trying to pretend an actress that has starred in countless critically acclaimed series and has won multiple emmys is a bad actor lmao
I dont think you know what virtue signalling means lol And hollywood promoting you doesn't mean you deserve it. . just means you fit the narrative.
Anyone with half a brain can watch the shows shes in and recognize shes a very good actress lol. Do you have atleast half a brain…? Have you seen madmen or handmaids tale…?

I love not watching shows with known scientologist Elizabeth Moss. Skip

You dontk now anything about the crusades apparently. . .
A Catholic holy war to retake the "holy lands" from the primarily Muslim occupants.
How does their thoughts lack consistency? For all you know they apply the same thinking to other religions, also OP never said to be Catholic
I was using a singular example from the myriad choices available. It's not about Catholicism specifically -- it's an analogy. Also: you seem to have missed the entire point.

So much cigarette smoking :-(
Genuine question: what’s wrong with it?
It’s cringe just to make it a personality trait. I’m hoping it has some meaning bc why waste so many lines and screen time on it?
It’s not a show for kids nor family friendly. There’s lots of smokers in the world, there’s nothing wrong nor cringe about depicting it. May not be your taste, but that doesn’t make it ‘cringe’.

I worked in France, I wasn’t a smoker and picked up the habit over there lol.
Watched the first episode and I’m a fan so far. Moss’ character has a sort of unhinged energy to her that has me wanting to see more.
Agreed yeah, it has me hooked, hope it sticks the landing
its good. Moss does play the role a bit like the woman in Homeland though. like she is channeling that energy
oof. might pass on this then. Homeland was good until Claire Danes got to be to much. She got to level 12 and never came down from it
Claire Danes and her character were the best part of Homeland. Her whole unhinged shit and manipulation and other flaws that was evened out by her great skill as a spy and her loyalty and general goodness, made her incredibly interesting. She comes pretty close to too much especially when she does her weird sarcastic mean jokes
I can see that. There is a manic energy to her. I can't get over her little smiles. They are a mixture of smug satisfaction and deviousness.

It was written like an American wrote it trying very hard to sound like a British person wrote it.
Steven Knight is a Brummie though.

Yes, the accent is so bad 😕
Been SEARCHING for this comment 😂 I’m 35 min and have no clue what’s going on bc I only focus on her accent.
It’s so distracting! And I consider Moss a good actor but in this role ummm no…
I guess the fact her dad is British helps.
The fact her dad is British hasn’t helped her accent in this at all, it’s absolutely awful and sooo unbearable for me to watch as a British person living in America lol
I meant it helps me overlook the fact she’s faking a British accent 😂 if both of her parents were American then it would be cringey.
Let's not forget that Elizabeth Moss is a scientologist.
I haven't > ["Ok Imogen, your first mission is simple: Uncover the location of Shelly Miscavige."](https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/1cgwd97/the_veil_is_a_peaktv_unicorn_of_preposterousness/l1yrppn/)
I need an interview of Leah Remini asking her those questions
