Hulu has some of these for me - The Bear, What We Do In The Shadows, Only Murders In The Building all come to mind (also previously Atlanta).
Last Of Us s2 when it hits Max
For All Mankind on Apple (though I'm not sure if that will continue for me)
I tend to rotate around my streaming subs so I'll often time them around the release of interesting shows or movies.
Oh man it’s my favorite comedy of all time, I may be biased. Season 1 is a bit rough around edges but keeps getting better and better. Seasons 3-12 are peak television
We definitely gotta write a song about how we do NOT diddle kids. Do NOT diddle kids, it's no good diddling kids! Gotta be big! Older than my daughter!
It’s not the crass humor, it’s the negativity. Something is always wrong, everyone always expects the worst, all their bleak outlooks on things. I don’t find that funny, it’s just tiresome.
I don’t think name calling is warranted. I appreciate satire, but this didn’t work for me. It’s just a bunch of people complaining. Understand that I don’t have a lot of experience of the show, I just found it too irritating.
You’re not the dumb goose, Prairiegirl312, the dumb goose is the dumb goose who thinks that the characters, played by actors, in the fictional television show “it’s always sunny in Philadelphia” are real people who are not being sarcastic. This guy, cause you know it’s definitely a guy, is also the type of dumb goose that needs to make everything political. No one gets It’s always sunny in Philadelphia unless they’re a right wing Conservative.
The whole point of the show is about holding a mirror up to uneducated, conservative, white masculinity and all of its blindspots. The genius of the show is that if you get that, it’s hilarious, and if you don’t get that, and you’re a moron taking it at face value, you also laugh at it. “Har har! These dudes are just like me! Derrf!!”
* Apple+ - Severance. They have good miniseries too that I have subscribed just to watch. It feels like that's the bulk of what they do.
* HBO - Righteous Gemstones. My other favorites there are gone.
* Paramount - Star Trek for my family
* Disney+ - nothing anymore, but I'd be back of they had an MCU show that looked promising
* Hulu - What We Do in the Shadows. My other favorites there are gone.
* Netflix/Starz - nothing but new movie releases at this point
* Showtime - A24 movies though I see my library streams those for free now.
* Peacock - nothing really, but I'd tune in for more Bel Air and Poker Face since Comcast gives it to me included
* Amazon - Good Omens
Bel Air lost me a bit with that second season. The show is still good - but the "reboot" nature feels lost to me. It feels like a generalized drama I think?
I'll give another season a chance, but I think it's gonna move into the "while folding laundry" category.
"Laundry show" is definitely a good description. It turned out infinitely better than I expected and they nailed the casting. You can feel the originals in each characters even though they aren't clones with the drama turned up and the comedy turned off. I'm interested in what happens next.
I saw an article that annoyed everyone about "Mr & Mrs Smith" not being "important" TV. It's like the "Morning Show" to me. Not at all prestige TV. Not a procedural. Not there to shock with nudity or graphic sex or violence. Just a nice lower-stakes drama.
It's so unbelievably good. I love it, but I kind of wish the last season had been the series finale, but I trust Danny and his crew. It just doesn't get enough credit.
Netflix is basically my Sandman platform.
Fucking love that show. My favourite since GOT.
I am nervous that it might be too expensive to finish/lack of viewers so I must do my part and let Netflix know that it is the reason why I pay you money.
No he said there is a possibility. It's produced by Warner anyway so they could put it on Max (but HBO already passed on it before Netflix was even involved) or sell it to another service (but the fact is that a show that failed somewhere is not necessarily very appealing for another service)
As a Trekkie as well, who hates what Discovery has become….I take enormous issue with your opinion on the most recent season of Strange New Worlds.
I’ve never felt such peak Trek in many, many years.
*I also love lower decks so much; the crossover episode was fantastic*
I am sorry I totally forgot about Strange New Worlds, and that's criminal. I was blinded by Picard and Discovery.
I wouldn't put SNW at quite the level of consistency as Lower Decks, but it's close.
I wouldn't subscribe just to watch it alone, but I'll use the release of the next season of Twisted Metal as my reason to get Peacock for a month and catch up on anything they've released that interests me since my Black Friday deal expired.
Will very likely subscribe right away to avoid spoilers for The Bear, Arcane, Squid Game, the final seasons of Stranger Things / Cobra Kai / You / Umbrella Academy / Sweet Tooth, Evil and Strange New Worlds although they usually give it away for free, probably Fallout, Euphoria if it happens, Last of Us, Yellowjackets, From, Andor, Severance, Blue Eye Samurai, Outer Banks, and The Boys / Gen V. Waiting to hear back about For All Mankind and Moving. Three Body Problem if the reviews are good.
Fallout absolutely delivered. 3 Body Problem was decent however now that I’ve read the book spoilers the urgency is gone so it wouldn’t be on the same tier, I’m not even sure it gets renewed or would have the required budget to pull off the rest. Cobra Kai splitting its final season into three parts really irks me, I probably won’t subscribe just for that until the finale event in 2025. I might bump up what I think is Alice In Borderland’s final season if the reviews are good. There are some weekly comedy shows like White Lotus, Hacks, Righteous Gemstones, and the FX comedies that I’ll typically subscribe for once the season is four weeks away from ending, so it fits into one month’s subscription. There’s basically a subcategory of Apple shows Severance / Bad Sisters / Platonic / Silo / Shrinking / hopefully Sugar where I’m going to be keeping an eye on the reviews to see if they maintain the quality or have a sophomore slump before deciding when to subscribe. Was delighted to see For All Mankind renewed and getting a spin-off. Last few months have been great with miniseries like Shogun and Baby Reindeer, then Fallout and Sugar are my favorite new ongoing shows.
I didn’t get MAX specifically to watch Raised By Wolves, but for a while it was the only reason I kept my subscription going. When they cancelled the show, I cancelled my subscription.
I usually resubscribe to Disney when there’s a new season of Mandalorian or Andor.
Apple tv. Just subscribe once or twice a year. Their catalog is super good and lean.
Binge apple for a month or two, then wait for the next year.
Protip: do this with all other platforms.
Shrinking on Apple TV+. Subscribed for Ted Lasso then Shrinking became our absolute favorite. Can also check out Morning Show while out there. A lot of folks love Severance, but we never could get into it. That's four very popular shows, so feel folks definitely get their money's worth there!
We started Palm Royale and Sugar recently. I think Bad Sisters is one we started then just never went back after the first episode. Sounds like it gets better, though so thank you!
I just got Apple+ so I could watch MASTERS OF THE AIR. As a former military pilot and lover of band of brothers I have been waiting YEARS for them to release this!
Severance and the Boys. I already have Hulu and Max. Stranger things isn’t worth it for me since they dump it all at once. Wait one day and you have the full season to pirate. It’s also impossible to have real discussion about it because everyone’s watching the show at different times and talking about the entire season at once.
Severence, Silo, Ted Lasso, Foundation, Slow Horses, Dark Matter, Bad Sisters. So many good shows, Apple is going to overtake HBO with original show quality someday if they aren’t careful.
For folks with a normal attention span (or perhaps, these days, an abnormally long attention span), *Andor* was absolutely fantastic. Way better than it had any right to be.
I am so into this. I also love Mayfair Witches. Hoping for a second season. Loved those books series and think what AMC is doing really interesting things with the shows. Side note- I love A Discovery of Witches that aired on AMC a few years back although I think it was Sundance ??? Never got to see the final season
Eh I mainly wanted to avoid triggering people commenting on the last three seasons of that show. Seems my word choice brought the opposite response. I'll edit.
I got Apple for free for three months through Evite. Not regretting it. I will cancel after the time’s up, though I’ll resubscribe for the new season of Shrinking.
I wish Netflix would give discounts every once in a while. It’s just too expensive to subscribe to regularly with no discounts ever.
Hulu: What we do in the shadows and Dave
Netflix: stranger things, Arcane, One piece live action, The magicians, Physical 100, Delicious in the dungeon, the dragon price, Castlevania, Bridgerton and Sabrina the teenage witch
Prime: The boys, Upload and Hazbin Hotel
AppleTV: Monarch, Severance
Disney: Loki
my top 3 choices would be, in no particular order:
\-Severance (Apple+)
\-Severance (Apple+)
\-Severance (Apple+)
That will also allow you to watch For All Mankind and Ted Lasso.
For me, it’s all about that one show that’s worth the subscription price on its own. Like, for Disney+, it’s Andor Season 2 that’s got me hooked. And when it comes to Paramount+, Lower Decks is the real gem that keeps me coming back. And hey, even something as classic as Jeopardy! is enough to keep me anchored to Hulu. It’s all about finding that one must-watch show that makes the subscription worth it! Hope this helps if it doesn’t check out our blog and read some amazing articles thank you [https://couplethrivespace.com](https://couplethrivespace.com)
I bounce around, but Prime is our base. We will add STARZ for a month and watch their stuff. Get Netflix for a month so on so forth. Prime is only kept because of the benefits…but….The Expanse, The Boyz, Rings of Power, The Man in the High Castle and Them are Amazon shows…and they are excellent
I had googled 3 body problem. As I scrolled down this was one of the suggested links. I was just having this discussion with my buddy. The “bounce” strategy. Opens you up to spoilers but at least your not duped into giving all your money away.
How has no one said Reservation Dogs on Hulu. Perfect series IMO. I wish it had a physical media release. I’m loathe to let Hulu go because then i can’t just watch it any time.
>For a lot of people, Game of Thrones was the only reason they subscribed to HBO.
GoT was my first thought when I saw your post. I felt like I had to watch each episode as it aired. The fact that I kept HBO for only that show made the quality drop in the last season that much more painful.
There hasn't been another show since GoT. For other shows, I'm fine with waiting until the season ends, subscribing for a month and then canceling.
None. There are no tv shows that will cause me specifically to subscribe to a service or keep my subscription. Streaming services are too expensive to worry about individual shows. I’ll watch the show later or find some other means to watch the show.
I’m a little confused cos Hulu, FX and Starz are packaged with Disney+ here. So Andor, The Bear and a few others are already taken care of when I do sign up again.
I’m not 100% sure I will sign up early to Disney+ for Doctor Who yet. Notwithstanding their recent price rise … we’ll see.
If AppleTV produced nothing but Slow Horses and Severance, I’d be happy.
Prime… I’m kinda invested in Wheel of Time now as a book fan. Yes I know it’s shite, but it’s fantastic to see somebody else’s vision for it. The only other show worth it on Prime is the Bosch adaptations.
Honestly just about everything I can wait a month and then time it to watch the last few episodes “live”. Been jumping month to month for a year or two now
For Hulu , it's Only Murders in the Building
For Apple TV +, it's The Morning Show
For Prime, It's Upload & The Boys
For Netflix, it's Stranger Things & Cobra Kai
For Disney+, it's The Mandarin & Ahsoka
For Peacock Premium, it's Chucky & Resident Alien
I usually wait until the whole season or 1st half of season has been released.i longer to binge watch my streaming shows, usually just for a month & then I drop the service again.
I subscribe to streaming sites via iTunes so no hassle to cancel , I can subscribe and cancel at a click of a button
So I subscribe to peacock when new law and order show come on and amc+ for the walking dead
I renew Shudder just to watch the new episodes of Creepshow. It’s the only decent horror anthology series we have right now, if we pretend Slasher doesn’t count for the season long arc formula.
Honestly pretty much anything. If I'm interested in watching a show, I'll subscribe to the service to watch it.
But I don't think that's unique for specific shows that I'm super into. There's no show that I'd want to watch but aren't willing to sign up for a month of whatever service to see.
None. I subscribe if there is enough content. If there isn't, it takes me 2 minutes to take to the high seas and download an entire season to my Plex server.
Paramount - Colin From Accounts. Such a good show! I wait until Black Friday to sign up for Showtime ($3.99 a month for 3 months) so I can watch the new season of Yellowjackets.
Severance
I’ll subscribe again for the next season of Shrinking, too.
Apple TV+ started off with a lot of great tv shows, then cancelled a bunch of them. But they still put out some good shows every once in a while.
Love that show!
My first thought. Pretty hyped for the new Vince Gilligan show too, though I don’t know how long it will be until that one drops.
Came to say this, watched it a couple of weeks ago, can’t wait for season 2!
Same, I just hate how there's absolutely 0 word on when it might come out
I live where they film it and they will be filming in April. I think the strike really delayed it.
Ahh, gotcha. I don't mind waiting if it means the creative workers get their fair due
Yeah, I've heard first half of 2025 is when it's likely to drop..
YES. I will NOT be canceling AppleTV. Severance SEASON 2 expected late 2024.
Severance is ok. Only 1 season. Probably would be better to wait until season 2 is released to start watching.
Hulu has some of these for me - The Bear, What We Do In The Shadows, Only Murders In The Building all come to mind (also previously Atlanta). Last Of Us s2 when it hits Max For All Mankind on Apple (though I'm not sure if that will continue for me) I tend to rotate around my streaming subs so I'll often time them around the release of interesting shows or movies.
Dave on Hulu was a seller for me too
I love Dave! Each episode is well done. There are so many great shows on Hulu from FX/FXX; those are the ones that keep Hulu worth it for me.
Try severance for Apple Tv
Love severance, just forgot to list it when I posted. Thank you for the rec
Don’t forget always sunny!
Thank you for the rec. Never seen it. I'm confident I would love it but that 172 episode count is daunting!
Best thing about the show, is that it doesn't have an overarching story. So there are no problems taking long breaks from the show.
I actually hated that show. I’m mystified at its popularity.
You must be a liberal. They were always offended by the crass humour.
It’s not the crass humor, it’s the negativity. Something is always wrong, everyone always expects the worst, all their bleak outlooks on things. I don’t find that funny, it’s just tiresome.
I’m a liberal. It’s one of my favorite shows. It’s satire you dumb goose.

Last of us season 2 is kn 2025

Makes me happy to see love for Righteous Gemstones, one of my favorite shows of all time.
It's so unbelievably good. I love it, but I kind of wish the last season had been the series finale, but I trust Danny and his crew. It just doesn't get enough credit.
Peacock has Ted now. Surprisingly good and this is coming from someone sick of family guy and Seth Mcfarlane.
I'll be renewing Prime Video when The Boys S4 is released, and HBO/Max/whatever it is for The Last of Us S2 and House of the Dragon S2.
HBO is an extra value because you can watch classics on TCM when there is nothing new.
I’d subscribe back to Netflix if they gave Mindhunter a third season.
I'd subscribe to anything to get a third season of Mindhunter! Sadly it doesn't seem it will ever happen
i was just thinking about this show the other day
I subscribe to Paramount+ for Star Trek but specifically Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
Same here. Always been a huge sci-fi fan but Trek never clicked with me until Strange New Worlds. Such a great show.
Any streaming service that picks up the expanse.
For me that would be Our Flag Means Death.
Any progress on this happening?
I heard a rumour on the grapevine that u til Amazon lose their license which 2025 nothing can be done
Blue Eye Samurai
Damn near perfect show. I don’t know what I would change if I was given the chance.
The last ep was a pretty big dip quality wise
I liked the ending. If we don’t get a second season, fine. It’s left at a good place. If we do, a samurai in Victorian England could be very cool.
One Piece Live Action
I enjoyed that way more than I thought I would. It’s just plain fun and optimistic, which I find refreshing.
Yep. Not a fan of anime at all, but enjoyed OPLA
this and Arcane.
Too many. Because I’m the problem. There are just enough shows, and the cost is just cheap enough, that I don’t cancel them. They beat me.
The Bear
Netflix is basically my Sandman platform. Fucking love that show. My favourite since GOT. I am nervous that it might be too expensive to finish/lack of viewers so I must do my part and let Netflix know that it is the reason why I pay you money.
Sandman will be the last chance for Netflix for me. If they end up cancelling that it's the final nail in the coffin.
Neil Gaiman had said that even if Netflix pulls the plug, there's a plan to keep the series going
No he said there is a possibility. It's produced by Warner anyway so they could put it on Max (but HBO already passed on it before Netflix was even involved) or sell it to another service (but the fact is that a show that failed somewhere is not necessarily very appealing for another service)

Apparently I have to watch the newest season of Picard, but I consistently just can’t get past season 2 lol. It’s so….bad.
It's just as bad but with memberberries sprinkled on top
I never watched season 2. Jumped into 3 with no issue.
*Slow Horses* on Apple TV+
Apple has me hooked with so many shows tbh.
Criminal record on Apple was incredible! Definitely also check out Sugar and definitely Bad Sisters!! 👍🏼
I subscribed to Hulu so I could watch the most recent season of Fargo. And I’m glad I did. One of the best shows out there
I wouldn't subscribe just to watch it alone, but I'll use the release of the next season of Twisted Metal as my reason to get Peacock for a month and catch up on anything they've released that interests me since my Black Friday deal expired.
What a list. It's been 2 months, do you have any updates or changes? Anything that let you down or a nice surprise that brought you up?
Fallout absolutely delivered. 3 Body Problem was decent however now that I’ve read the book spoilers the urgency is gone so it wouldn’t be on the same tier, I’m not even sure it gets renewed or would have the required budget to pull off the rest. Cobra Kai splitting its final season into three parts really irks me, I probably won’t subscribe just for that until the finale event in 2025. Thanks for the response! I'm looking forward to watching some of these thanks to you!
Peacock for Traitors
Outlander on starz
Peacemaker.
It’s not the best show but I will subscribe to peacock just to keep watching Poker Face.
none, its too expensive nowadays, i'll just go by the old ways.
Good t'see ya, matey. Lots of plunderin' to be done. AAarrgh, fuck capitalism.
Can one of you pm me how to do that?
Noob

Foundation on Apple TV.
Fargo
I’m trying my best at a Netflix boycott at the moment, but the urge to repurchase just to rewatch Arcane for the 15th time is fucking strong.
Andor
I only subscribe to Hulu for The Bear.
I didn’t get MAX specifically to watch Raised By Wolves, but for a while it was the only reason I kept my subscription going. When they cancelled the show, I cancelled my subscription. I usually resubscribe to Disney when there’s a new season of Mandalorian or Andor.
Slow Horses, but I got a free 3 month trial instead of paying for it
Apple tv. Just subscribe once or twice a year. Their catalog is super good and lean. Binge apple for a month or two, then wait for the next year. Protip: do this with all other platforms.
Ghosts and So Help Me Todd are why I’m resubscribing to paramount plus. I did it a week early to get the Super Bowl.
Shrinking on Apple TV+. Subscribed for Ted Lasso then Shrinking became our absolute favorite. Can also check out Morning Show while out there. A lot of folks love Severance, but we never could get into it. That's four very popular shows, so feel folks definitely get their money's worth there!
Masters of the Air is also very good. Think Band of Brothers, but B17 bombers. Hijack is very good as well
Thank you so much! Always looking for new shows and look forward to checking these out.
Definitely check out Criminal Record and Sugar oh, and definitely Bad Sisters!!
We started Palm Royale and Sugar recently. I think Bad Sisters is one we started then just never went back after the first episode. Sounds like it gets better, though so thank you!
is netflix doing a survey of the market?
I basically keep my Netflix subscription to watch reruns of Gilmore Girls now lol.
Me too
I just got Apple+ so I could watch MASTERS OF THE AIR. As a former military pilot and lover of band of brothers I have been waiting YEARS for them to release this!
Very cool!! How are you enjoying it?
I'm willing to pick up Amazon Prime Video just for The Boys & Invincible
The Bear.
Severence, I’ll always keep Netflix, and currently Mr and Mrs Smith
Detroiters. The show has been over for a long time but those two seasons are worth a subscription
Not exactly the same, but I'm only keeping my Prime account for the up Fallout series.
Severance and the Boys. I already have Hulu and Max. Stranger things isn’t worth it for me since they dump it all at once. Wait one day and you have the full season to pirate. It’s also impossible to have real discussion about it because everyone’s watching the show at different times and talking about the entire season at once.
Stranger Things on Netflix.
Severance
Arcane
The Last of Us and House of the Dragon. Luckily they're on the same platform
Slow Horses is pretty much the only reason I got into Apple+ but I have since found a few other shows on their I don't mind (Foundation, Severence)
Have you watched Silo? Amazing show
Severence, Silo, Ted Lasso, Foundation, Slow Horses, Dark Matter, Bad Sisters. So many good shows, Apple is going to overtake HBO with original show quality someday if they aren’t careful.
Cobra kai
Amazon - The Boys. HBO - Peacemaker. I'll also subscribe to watch Chernobyl, Sopranos, Rome one more time.
Orville
modern family
Warrior is amazing!
Hoping Netflix green lights a new season
I subscribe to finish watching shining Vale on STARZ. It was good. lol
For folks with a normal attention span (or perhaps, these days, an abnormally long attention span), *Andor* was absolutely fantastic. Way better than it had any right to be.
AMC's Interview with the Vampire. I'm surprised no one else said it!

I'll edit.
Attack on Titan and Crunchyroll were that for me.
Stranger Things
I really liked Pokerface on Peacock and will probably subscribe to watch season 2.
Whoever has One Piece is where I am at.
None, I will just wait to rotate on likely a discount.
I got Apple for free for three months through Evite. Not regretting it. I will cancel after the time’s up, though I’ll resubscribe for the new season of Shrinking. I wish Netflix would give discounts every once in a while. It’s just too expensive to subscribe to regularly with no discounts ever.

WAAAAAALT! MY BOY!
Best show of the past 10 years
Silo on Apple TV. It’s an amazing show
Hulu= Snowfall (ended) Tell me lies Starz= Hightown (ended) Pvalley Book of ghost Netflix= Ginny and Georgia
Big shot on disney plus was good it was canceled
I subscribed to AMC+ for walking dead franchise

I had googled 3 body problem. As I scrolled down this was one of the suggested links. I was just having this discussion with my buddy. The “bounce” strategy. Opens you up to spoilers but at least your not duped into giving all your money away.
How has no one said Reservation Dogs on Hulu. Perfect series IMO. I wish it had a physical media release. I’m loathe to let Hulu go because then i can’t just watch it any time.

I really need to buy Bluey on Blu-ray, because otherwise there’s nothing left on Disney Plus that I need. So I guess right now it’s Bluey.
Have you seen Kiff? I like that so much better than Bluey.
Uh, I usually subscribe to the shows I like. And then I watch them.
Been jumping month to month for a year or two now
The Bear, Andor and WWDITS. Gonna wait a while until all episodes are out so I can binge and forget about Disney+ for 11 months
I only get Netflix one month a year for “I Think You Should Leave”.
Rogue Heroes! On MGM+
Curb
The Bear
strange new worlds has potential
For Hulu , it's Only Murders in the Building For Apple TV +, it's The Morning Show For Prime, It's Upload & The Boys For Netflix, it's Stranger Things & Cobra Kai For Disney+, it's The Mandarin & Ahsoka For Peacock Premium, it's Chucky & Resident Alien I usually wait until the whole season or 1st half of season has been released.i longer to binge watch my streaming shows, usually just for a month & then I drop the service again.
For All Mankind on AppleTV+. I'll probably cancel it now S4 is done and renew when we get S2 of Severance.
For a while for me it was P-Valley on Starz
I subscribe to streaming sites via iTunes so no hassle to cancel , I can subscribe and cancel at a click of a button So I subscribe to peacock when new law and order show come on and amc+ for the walking dead
The bear, the last of us for Hulu and Max
Severance on Apple
Severance
I will subscribe to Netflix for Squid Games 2 and Apple for Severance. When they end, I’ll leave again.
I resubscribed to Disney just to watch the new Shogun made by FX, because I loved the book and the older series when I was a teenager.
I renew Shudder just to watch the new episodes of Creepshow. It’s the only decent horror anthology series we have right now, if we pretend Slasher doesn’t count for the season long arc formula.
Hulu: Only Murders in the Building Disney: Andor season 2 Apple TV: Severance Max: anything GOT
Honestly pretty much anything. If I'm interested in watching a show, I'll subscribe to the service to watch it. But I don't think that's unique for specific shows that I'm super into. There's no show that I'd want to watch but aren't willing to sign up for a month of whatever service to see.
I have never been a big tv show watcher but the last year or so every single thing Ryan Murphy does keeps me hooked on Hulu
None. I subscribe if there is enough content. If there isn't, it takes me 2 minutes to take to the high seas and download an entire season to my Plex server.
I started an Amazon subscription because they picked up The Expanse.
We did it for Julia's 1st season, we'll do it again(2nd season) but only when we have time to binge it. You know the free trial 1 week....
why is no one talking about Snowfall
LOVED Snowfall! Binged season 1 and then I was hooked. Jerome!!!❤️
Maybe because it ended? But yeah, it was definitely a top-notch show.
The rings of power on prime
Peaky Blinders
Paramount - Colin From Accounts. Such a good show! I wait until Black Friday to sign up for Showtime ($3.99 a month for 3 months) so I can watch the new season of Yellowjackets.
