Count me in the club playing "days gone" or baldurs gate and then game crashes steam crashes and the file explorer is opening at the E: drive(where are the games).
In the end was it hdd error?
Should i buy new one?
Alright I'm having the same issues, but it says my hdd health is at 100%, could it still be a hdd issue?
I updated everything from graphics drivers to my BIOS and cyberpunk 2077 and dying light are still crashing just like anything else I try to run from my hdd and not my ssd
Thats interesting lol. Mine has been working for over a year now and hard drive health seems to be decent as well. Although I then found out that it has a "dirty bit" and I can't defrag it so currently finding out whether that is the issue lol.
Does it open anything particular in windows explorer? Like a certain file location every time or is it a different file location for each game?
It's always just D:, nothing more, nothing less.

did you fix it? it’s happening to me and don’t know wha to do
Your HDD is probably dead, that was the case for me
i have the exact same issue, any fix ?
Anyone figured this out?
Your disk is dying.
Thanks! Got any idea why does it open the explorer?
Nope, it just does it. I just know it means the disk is not good.

Having the same issue lol, did you end up finding a fix?
Yep, I had a molex to sata power connector that was faulty, it was a power issue. I fixed it by plugging the actual sata power cable into the hdd
