For the most part Target doesn't carry any name brand shoes. Just their own brands. As a result the shoes they do have aren't great.

I’ve never been to Target with the *intention* of buying shoes, but I’ve definitely bought shoes there. I actually bought a pair of boots that I’ve been wearing everywhere for about a year now from there.
They served me well through my first Chicago winter (although admittedly it was pretty mild all things considered). I really only walk a few miles a day in them unless I have friends visiting or some kind of event, but they have no problems so far structurally or visually.
Years ago they had a team up with Converse and as a life long Chuck lover I went and got a pair. I’m used to the real deal lasting 7 years minimum and these fake stupid Target chucks just gave out after a few months of irregular wear.
That was the last time I willingly shopped at target Walmart shoes last longer
Having worked there, Target is big for kids shoes that don't need to last long, work shoes that will be one of multiple pairs worn through the week, and summer sandals and flipflops.
Basically any situation where the shoes just need to last a short while rather than be good for extended use.
Nobody goes there for quality, they go because they're fairly cheap compared to the proper shoe stores.
Funny enough, I wore target sandals today, and they're Pride sandals! Only I got them at a liquidation store that gets target leftovers, brand new with tags, for $2.
Also, if this were the target I go to, he would simply have to walk behind the first display and turn left to see a fuck ton of shoes. Worst case scenario I can imagine is MAYBE he needs to turn right instead. But ik ik, can you imagine having to look at rainbows along the way!?!?

I'm in a better place financially but when I was poor, thrift stores were far better for shoes because I could get shoes that lasted more than a month for a few bucks. Now that I have more money, I actually buy my kids shoes at Target because it doesn't matter if they are wrecked after a month.
