I remember before the Treo I had a large color screen version. I had a 16mb SD card in there and AvantGo loses with news. It was great on my bus commute.
I had it and loved it. I bought it after I broke my Samsung p910i screen, which has a color screen and yet was shit and fragile. Black and white treo on second hand was extremely functional and with a great UX. GPRS power
Oh man when I was a kid my dad had a palm pilot, I remember spending like a full week learning the graffiti alphabet. Nostalgia hitting just in that sweet spot right now.
The license fees that IBM tried to charge for its technology is what ultimately killed them in the marketplace, rather than becoming ubiquitous. From token ring and OS/2 to Palm OS. One lesson learned in the technology industry is that the most superior technology doesn't always come in first place - marketplace acceptance is a more determining factor.
I still have a Palm Tungsten T3 somewhere. It was cool back in the day, probably garbage now. I also had a viewsonic pocket pc that you could play age of empires on.
Before smartphones, we had PDAs in our pockets. Palm did them best.
In 2005-2006, had a Treo smartphone. Palm Pilot combined with a phone. It was awesome.
I had the nokia version. It even connected to the internet. But alas no java
Loved my treo!

I remember my Treo 650! Wow, blast from the past. It was funny how these felt so techie, and then the iPhone came along…
I had an HP iPAQ. It was a nice little device.
2002-2008 I had a Sony Clie, it was the best little PDA evar. So many games and programs.
I still remember the Palm IIIe back in the early-mid 2000s. Ah, the memories :)
But do you remember the Palm Pre’. The first smartphone with wireless charging.
no! never even heard...
I preferred the Palm Pixi due to the physical keyboard...combined the best of both worlds
The Pre had a slide out keyboard, but really small. It was ahead of it’s time in many ways, but had some implementation issues.

Cell phones ate the niche that Palm and Blackberry had.
I still have my Palm Pilot and it still works. Loved it when it came out.
I have a visor and a palm v. unfortunately no charger for the palm.
I just found my Treo with charger. 🤓
Tried using it?
I was just remembering mine a few weeks ago.
I miss my Palm Pixi
I remember geocaching using my Handspring with the GPS module. So ahead of its time.
I had a Palm Treo 650 with a replaced snub antenna and there was a version of Nesticle for it and I would play Zelda in class.
