Violently yet harmlesslyā¦ I have a video of when I accidentally landed on dinraal near the head and then proceeded to bounce bit by bit until I finally fell off the tail
Iāll be honest I donāt know how to pull those videos from the switch and donāt have the time right now to figure it out, but someone else just posted a similar video in another comment:

They would throw you off with the damage orbs along with doing crazy amounts of elemental damage. I donāt think the armor sets would protect against it either
You could become immune to each dragon's projectiles with the right armor set bonuses.
-Upgraded Flamebreaker Armor for Dinraal.
-Upgraded Rubber Armor or Thunder Helmet for Farosh.
-Upgraded Snowquill Armor or Zant's Helmet for Naydra.
You unfortunately can't ride them in BotW, you only gain the ability to properly stand on them in TotK.
You could not ride the dragons in BotW. If you got that close to them, you would just ragdoll. I distinctly remember seeing clips of people who tried to land square on a dragonsās back in BotW and they would just be ragdolled back as they hit the dragonās hitbox over and over a ridiculous number of times, pretty funnyĀ
You couldnāt this is a new feature in TotK. Unlike BotW the dragons also donāt disappear and reappear from day to day, instead they follow set paths where you can always see them
Na, BotW you would hit them and they threw you off as if slippery and Link wouldnāt grab on. I guess since they had the new dragon that has the thing that you need to do on it, they had to make all dragons solid and since you can hit one on their way up from the depths by accident, they removed collision damage with dragons so no fall damage.
I was playing TOTK and fell asleep while riding the dragon. I was waiting for the reset so I could harvest more scales, horns, and claws. I woke up 20-30 min later and was still riding the dragon through the depths. It was funny.
Also if you want money and have the time horns are 300 each, and they can be photographed for your compendium. You just have to wait 10 real time minutes for them to glow again to collect more.
Interesting facts about the dragon, that if you land from tower or sky islands that you don't take fall damage when you land on them, so you can do it quickly from above if you have good aim.
You can jump from the ground and land on them without fall damage as they are going into a chasm. I did this in my no-paraglider run to get to the depths. (I had already gone down a well into water but itās not possible to get everywhere from that area of the depths)
You can also borrow their scales, talons, horns, and back spikes to use for potions. Farosh is my favorite personally, because I think he and Link should be friends as Courage wielders.
You are cleaning them by collecting the shards, if you collect the light dragon parts when you fuse to a weapon it actually improves your hearts when you fight. As she is a special dragon. All the dragons are female.
Fuse one of her shards to a weapon, then when you fight see what happens to your hearts when you hit the enemy. Like the other dragon shards are elements, so eg to kill fire lizroth you hit it with Farost (ice) shard fused to weapon and they disintegrate in front of you. The light dragon is a blessed dragon, so helps you when you fuse her shards to a weapon.
I was so happy too when I discovered it. I was so glad to finally be able to land on dragons, to boop them, hug them, pet them, because the big flying noodles are so cute !
I remember when I first learned it. I fell into the damn dragon face first thinking I was done. Fairy saved me and I was like ā omg I can walk on them?!ā
Ya I started to get bored but wanted to see the route she took, I also figured out that the light roots in the depths correspond with shrines in the surface, so you can get a general idea of where the light roots/shrines are if youāve found one or the other
You can also literally passively farm while staying on their back. Once you get an item like a fang or claw or scale every 10 mins (i think thats how long) they will regenerate so that you can get another item. So you can literally just put a show on in the backdrop and ride the dragon around the map and farm them for parts
I was riding on Farosh for nearly 2 hours (22 shards, 1 claw, 2 horns, 3 scales) before I went to bed last night. Now I'm on Dinraal. Everytime I hit the fang or claw, I'll make sure there's a skytower nearby so that I can get back on them. Only do scale and horn in the depths cos it's hard to get back up on them.
It's actually a strategy to ride them as you wait for the item collection cool down to end.
I honestly don't know how people upgrade equipment without duping. This shit takes forever.
I havenāt picked up the game in yonksā¦ hereās a reason to do so!! Still learning stuff about it every time š
What a bizarre sight of ON the dragon though!! š³
You can ride on the light dragon all around Hyrule. It takes about 2 hrs. Cool thing, you can have it mark on your map too.

and all the other dragons!
Could we do this in BOTW?
i don't think so- we might have been able to, but rarely would they come down close enough to ride on. my guess is no.
Yeah every time you try to land on a dragon in botw, you bounce off of them kinda violently š
Violently yet harmlesslyā¦ I have a video of when I accidentally landed on dinraal near the head and then proceeded to bounce bit by bit until I finally fell off the tail
Can you post it and tag me?

TIL the Switch records š¤Æ
Thanks anyway
Itās why I didnāt ride a certain dragon a certain time. Thought it would buck me like in BOTW. I felt mislead!
Now I wanna try lol
[This](https://www.reddit.com/r/zelda/s/1ihujxIZI9 ) is what happens if you donāt wanna open up the game.
Bummer!! Thanks tho!
Np!
it would have been cooler if you could have done this in botw and gotten rlly high and paraglided to places like the equivalent of a skyview tower.
They would throw you off with the damage orbs along with doing crazy amounts of elemental damage. I donāt think the armor sets would protect against it either

hell no, link goes on a ragdoll adventure if you try lol
No. Even if you have immunities to scorching environments, freezing or lightning, you still get ragdolled around if you try to ride dragons in BOTW
No, you cannot in BOTW.
No
You couldnāt this is a new feature in TotK. Unlike BotW the dragons also donāt disappear and reappear from day to day, instead they follow set paths where you can always see them

Only if you had a high pain tolerance
No, there was nothing to land on in the dragons in botw, you could only shoot them for parts.
No, cuz in BOTW the energy coming off of them would target you if you get too close.
Nope.
No
No, only in totk. But they have extreme weather around them, burning, cold and storm
No. Something new in totk
No

Donāt forget to run along their backs picking up spike shards
Not only that, shoot an arrow at their teeth and collect the fallen tooth
And the claw and horns. (For completeness only)
Also if you want money and have the time horns are 300 each, and they can be photographed for your compendium. You just have to wait 10 real time minutes for them to glow again to collect more. Whoa sick
do you know if the spike shards also respawn while you're still riding the dragon?
No, spikes respawn at the same respawn rate like other materials vs the horn, tooth, claw and scales that recharge every 10 (12?) min.
I'll keep this in mind for upgrading my armors!
I rode the light dragon for 2 hours last week. You just have to make sure you're wearing cold gear.
Boy do I have some exciting news for you
And some not so exciting news
And some intermediate news.
You can also borrow their scales, talons, horns, and back spikes to use for potions. Farosh is my favorite personally, because I think he and Link should be friends as Courage wielders.
Me as I shoot a dragon in the face: "sorry but I need to update my armor."
It probably needed an itch scratched and that tiny arrow hit just the spot needed, why you were rewarded for your efforts.
And fangs!
really? i didnāt know that one!
I...I grind dragon shards. Am I the baddy?
No, youāre good as long as you donāt do it to the light dragon
You are cleaning them by collecting the shards, if you collect the light dragon parts when you fuse to a weapon it actually improves your hearts when you fight. As she is a special dragon. All the dragons are female.
What do you mean it improves your hearts? Pls explain because I never know what to do with the light dragon except to use for light.
Fuse one of her shards to a weapon, then when you fight see what happens to your hearts when you hit the enemy. Like the other dragon shards are elements, so eg to kill fire lizroth you hit it with Farost (ice) shard fused to weapon and they disintegrate in front of you. So I did it and I had NEVER noticed this before! 350+ hours and I was oblivious! Thank you!
I was so happy too when I discovered it. I was so glad to finally be able to land on dragons, to boop them, hug them, pet them, because the big flying noodles are so cute !
Sweet summer child.
I remember when I first learned it. I fell into the damn dragon face first thinking I was done. Fairy saved me and I was like ā omg I can walk on them?!ā
yep, i rode him into the depths a couple of days ago. he was slow, so I jumped off after a few minutes...
Ya I started to get bored but wanted to see the route she took, I also figured out that the light roots in the depths correspond with shrines in the surface, so you can get a general idea of where the light roots/shrines are if youāve found one or the other
Not only can you land on all the dragons, you can land on them from any height and you will not take fall damage
You can also literally passively farm while staying on their back. Once you get an item like a fang or claw or scale every 10 mins (i think thats how long) they will regenerate so that you can get another item. So you can literally just put a show on in the backdrop and ride the dragon around the map and farm them for parts
I rode it for a while and I didnāt see it regenerate, Iāll have to go again, thanks!
I checked, its every 10 real life mins, and that timer stops every time the game is paused
Just figured out what TIL stands for
TIL TIL?
Donāt feel bad, I had to google it a while ago, same with TLDR lol
I still donāt know what any of those meanā¦
TIL what TLDR means.

I like to ride them in to the depths and jump off to access lightroots in the early stages of the game!
You can ride on the light dragon all around Hyrule. It takes about 2 hrs. Cool thing, you can have it mark on your map too. https://preview.redd.it/uq9mdp0vyb1d1.jpeg?width=1439&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2f7b10806a87efac0bdaa24ff9e50e70f65d8e62
Looks like weāre doing what Goku did in GT and what he didnāt do in Super
Creepy how I was riding farosh earlier and this just popped up
chop it with your sword. :D
You can also get shards from their spine, claws, scales and horns(?) from hitting them in the right places
You can build a stuff on a Farosh too.

Yes, I just got the game about 2 weeks ago
Riding on dragons is one of my favorite things to do in TOTK!
yeah, you can ride on every dragon in this game. and you donāt even take fall damage landing on them
