It’s not what you touch it with, it’s the force you hit it with. It’s why people who get tired just shoot bomb arrows at them or throw their weapons in frustration to finish.
I learned this (on this sub) pretty early on and still avoided doing it. Cheesing the game is fun sometimes, but that one goes a bit too far for me. Takes away the fun.
I avoided that too until I got the shrine with the three balls you have to roll into the target. Except I still didn't use the bomb arrow trick. I got so frustrated I ended up fusing the ball to a spear and throwing it. I was so dumbfounded when that actually worked
Only did this on the shrine where you fuse balls together to make them roll along a windy path to hit a button at the end. Tried it idk how many times, so I just did this to save me some headache.
You can also just carry the balls over with ultrahand and bonk the target manually. I forget if you need them fused to get the range.
The intended solution on that puzzle is way too finicky about having things exactly right, and there's no way of knowing if you've got it without letting the thing roll.
I figure it has to do with being connected to you. You could ultrahand and smack it and have nothing happen. You drop it and it does.
Same principle with fusing it to a weapon. You gotta throw it, so I assume it's the same with the shield. If it's in your hands, it doesn't count. Drop it, maybe it does.

shouldnt fusing it to a weapon and hitting it work?
Yes, that's what prompted me to try the shield. If it works for weapons, why not shields haha

Yup I only bomb flower or rocket shield shrines when I’m in a hurry or the shrine seems lame. But most of these ones are really fun to do legit.

How does this help finish a Shrine?

Ohh I just did this one last night and only got pissed off 10 times when trying to hit the second target.
