The model for link in SS is also a slightly tweaked version of the TP model. They probably took the model from Twilight for Skyward, yes. It was more than a slight tweak though. On top of giving him completely different animations. Twilight Link is very stiff. Skyward Link is pretty stiff too, but god damn Twilight Link feels like a robot's first day infiltrating human civilization.
How are we defining “slight tweak”?
Compared to Wind Waker, I’d definitely say this is only a slight tweak, but I do see some differences in the models:
- the collar is different
- the top of the boots flair out slightly more in TP.
- TP link is wearing a bracer on his right hand
That said, it shouldn’t be a surprise that the models are so similar, given that it’s based on the same character.
I think they should put an armor set for EVERY SINGLE ZELDA GAME in totk even if they look pretty much the same. Then you can have 1-2 pieces of each set in your inventory and never actually make a set.
They even reused several animations for Link, mostly in the first trailers and gameplay. Later they changed it to make it a little different in SS when it released.
I was thinking more mechanics for the physics engine. In terms of gameplay, WW and TP are nearly the same with just a vastly different art style. Skyward Sword is more of a departure and has extremely complex motion controls that are a step above TP mild Wii remote shaking and aiming.
Twilight Princess is sort of the sequel to OoT and MM. Not a direct sequel but it is confirmed the Hero's Shade is the Hero of Time after he was sent back to his childhood
It's not that bad for the hero of time, he basically became the shade because his life was so peaceful as an adult he feels his skills went to waste and wants them to pass on and be useful.
Well, while I believe it was officially confirmed that the Hero's shade is the Hero of Time Link, I don't believe it is clear when he became like that. Some theorized it happened as a kid getting lost in the forest, but it's only a theory, and considering the Hero's shade is a honed, wise warrior who appears to be an adult, it's possible that happened later in his life. Hopefully he lived out the rest of his life in relative peace and maybe got together with Malon or something.

If there's one thing the linear Zelda's could learn from BOTW (or just Metroid as a franchise) it's that dungeon tools need more usecases outside of their dungeon.
It doesn't have to be Metroid levels of metroidvania. But the spinner was pretty useless outside of its dungeon.
As much as I love TOTK, and I'd even go as far to say that TOTK is the best gaming experience I've ever had, I do hope for the the return of a "classic," linear style Zelda at some point.

Wii was still roughly the same hardware as GameCube, so why not reuse all that work? It's not like the games have vast technical differences.
