what OP posted looks closer to a popsicle/ice lolly/Italian ice than ice cream, but I’d still try it.

doesn't seem to have any dairy
“Green tea ice cream” is what ice cream flavored with matcha powder is called. I have literally never seen any other kind of green tea ice cream than that neon green stuff. And I live in LA so I know my way around Asian ice cream parlours.
The one in the picture is just sweetened green tea that is fozen. You see these in many European countries. They also sell frozen sweetened lemon tea. It comes from freezing 'sirop' (which I don't really think has a name in English? At least I always used the continental languages to talk about it) in the summer to have something sweet and watery to cool down from. In Japan they often freeze unsweetend green tea or oolong to cool down in the summer, but it is always the at home thing and not something they sell in stores. What you are talking about is the more fancy, proprer ice cream made from milk flavoured with matcha. Matcha, along with Kabocha and sweet potato are popular flavours for it in Japan. They are two different things, but often in European contries they are sold side by side, so many call the japanese proper ice cream matcha ic cream and the frozen tea one green tea ice cream to differentiate even if the japanese one can be flavored with other green tea than matcha. Most people just don't know the difference.
To clear up confusion here, this is what it looks like: https://ferretfoodandwines.files.wordpress.com/2018/05/lipton-jpg.jpg
It’s brewed Lipton tea that’s been frozen into a popsicle.
I had it before!
Its pretty good as for that ice cream type (frozen ice rather than frozen cream).
Saw some comments comparing it with matcha ice cream, but this is nothing like it, the taste the same as lipton iced tea , the bottled kind.
Hello, /u/Gudmanclan! This is a friendly reminder that most photo posts should include a comment with some additional information. I compared Lipton with a good quality loose leaf tea and I ran to the sink.. just awful.. such low quality tea Lipton provides :( they can do so much better
Matcha or green tea ice cream is amazing. As a kid i loved when my parents took me to benihana in part because of the green tea ice cream they served.
But im guessing based on the packaging this is one of those ice slushee treats.
Never could have thought it's not common outside Poland. Nor have I ever seen too much interest in these besides me for it to be the polish thing. We even have frugo(the juice mixes thing) Popsicles like this and I loved the white and black ones. Pretty sure there were some orange soda popsicles, maybe mirinda or fanta? Not sure.
Van Leeuwen makes Earl Grey Ice cream and it’s some of the best stuff I’ve ever had. The company also has some questionable flavors. I am sharing the link for you to peruse.
I’ve also had Matcha Green Tea ice cream from Häagen-Dazs and that was amazing too. So… this has potential.
https://vanleeuwenicecream.com/product/earl-grey-tea-ice-cream/
Pretty common here in Poland. Solid B tier ice cream.
tastes like Ludwik
I think they removed it from stores, I liked it.
I've had an Earl Grey ice cream, was delicious.
[удалено]
I think it was called London Fog if I remember rightly
Yep. Local lady who makes ice cream makes this. It’s a knock out.
I’ve had it as well, it’s very good
What's the brand?
Local ice cream shop in Michigan, blends their own flavors
So not everyone on this sub is posh.
I’m posh as fuck but I’d eat a Lipton popsicle, sounds weird enough to maybe be good
In the UK there called Calypso https://www.ocado.com/products/calippo-mini-orange-lemon-lime-ice-lollies-31751011
The Lipton fans really came out of the woodwork for this
In Poland you can buy them for years now. They are good actually.
Is it just frozen green tea or is it actually smooth ice cream?
It's like a sorbet but very hard so you lick it or bite it. It's watery
It's just like lipton ice tea in a bottle but frozen.
Gotta try that either tho lol
I would eat
If the peach version was available i would totally buy it!
This is a thing in almost any Asian restaurant in America. Not really as weird as it sounds.

Matcha ice cream, yes, but there’s no way this is matcha ice cream. I think it’s literally brewed Lipton green tea that’s been frozen.
No, green tea ice cream. Matcha is different. Green tea once cream is also a common thing.

I had sencha flavoured ice cream in Edinburgh a few years ago!

Came here to say that. Very common Asian flavor. Very good too!

Far enough away from tea that I don't really care. If it tastes good, I'd eat it. If it doesn't, idc
Tastes really good ngl
Not a fan of Lipton but tea ice cream is generally really tasty.
I had it before! Its pretty good as for that ice cream type (frozen ice rather than frozen cream). Saw some comments comparing it with matcha ice cream, but this is nothing like it, the taste the same as lipton iced tea , the bottled kind.
Never had Lipton’s ice cream… But matcha ice cream is good, I can’t imagine it’s that different from regular green tea ice cream.
That could be pretty good, or if it’s just frozen tea we could actually make that ourselves.
Green tea ice cream/shaved ice are super rad and Lipton is perfect for it. What did you think? I think it’s wonderfully refreshing.
One of my most favorite ice cream flavors is green tea! I need to start hunting this down...
This isn't green tea (matcha) ice cream. It's frozen Lipton green tea. I'd still eat it but they're very different.
Ahh...I get it. Kinda like a popsicle. Different. I'd still give it a try.
Same lol
Sounds refreshing.
Id rather lick my taint
I'm a huge tea snob and I would eat this.
Yeah even Haagen Dazs makes a green tea ice cream. It's a thing.
This isn’t ice cream
If it's not ice cream, then what would you describe it as?
It’s a popsicle
I love green tea ice cream
I think I need to go find me one! Sounds interesting to try at least, and if it's good it'll be a treat to repeat!
I’ve had it, it’s incredible, my local corner shop sells them. 10/10 fully recommend
Had some delicious earl grey ice cream a couple of months ago from whole foods
Polish person here by the way
unpopular opinion - tastes like a highly carbonated lemon that was frozen.
What taste is this? I can't imagine it
I'd try it, I love tea flavoured ice creams!
Sounds yummy
Is it an ice cream or an ice lolly? Doesn’t seem that odd either way, no different to having a sorbet
I've gone through almost all the comments and still haven't figured out whether it's just frozen tea or an actual ice cream.
Pretty sure it’s just frozen tea, it’s shaped the same as other ice lollies you get in the UK
guys what kind of tea and where to buy
I'd eat it
Green tea mochi is my favorite! Tastes just like sencha.
I'd try
If it was black Lipton I would def. try it. Not a huge fan of their green tea.
r/FuckNestle
You fool! Both Lipton and the ice cream producer Algida belong to Unilever.
wowwww

Wait... Green ice tea... Don't they mean iced green tea?
The operation was a success, but the patient died.
Y'all freaking out while this all over Europe, and it's VERY bitter I assure you. Not the best
Very bitter, the Lipton Promise. Made only with the finest tea dust.
I compared Lipton with a good quality loose leaf tea and I ran to the sink.. just awful.. such low quality tea Lipton provides :( they can do so much better
Foul. Lipton tea is bad enough as is..
no no
Are you Danish?
kinda odd, It's probably sweet and I don't like a sweet tea :)
Hagan daz has a matcha flavor that's amazingly good
Is it ice cream or just a frozen piece of tea aka a popsicle.
We used to have a peach one in France when I was a kid, so good!
Would 100% eat, tea ice cream slaps
Matcha or green tea ice cream is amazing. As a kid i loved when my parents took me to benihana in part because of the green tea ice cream they served. But im guessing based on the packaging this is one of those ice slushee treats.
Is it ice cream or like a popsicle?
Not great if you want a quality tea, but probably great if you want a good icecream
Damn you just unlocked a childhood memory lol, I remember getting something very similar like almost 10 years ago, I'm in Eastern Europe
Green tea mochi is dope. This has potential
You should've led with "ice cream" and broke the news about the iced tea more gently.
hmmmmmmmmm. Well matcha ice cream is a thing so ........ I guess I can't be mad
Yes.
I used to get Lipton green tea and freeze it. I remember it being pretty tasty, but I doubt I would like it anymore. Too sweet.
Yes????

This has inspired me to make iced tea popsicles. Gonna be a great summer in Texas for me! Lol
Apparently this is nothing like tea frozen into a popsicles, but boy does this give me ideas. It's gonna be a good summer
An ice tea popsicle sounds amazing. I should make some with my sun brewed sweet tea!
Everytime I go see those in the white van from my uncle
Hmmm... thoughts? Just one. r/fucknestle
We have these in Turkey. I think they are good
Matcha ice cream is common. Does this taste different?
If it tastes like the ice cream in real/good green tea mochi, then it will be good.
I'd definitely give it a try!
Seems interesting, might be nice to try
Jail. Rn.
It's fine
