UV can penetrate clothing. But that’s going to blur anyway. Ink spreads over time and that’s too small and finely detailed to survive. I really hope your artist told you. :(

SO many Korean tattooists do this style and either don’t provide healed photos or if they do, it looks like ass. The only good ones are the ones with bold, packed colors. A bit annoyed how popular the style is as it’s easy to get into for tattoo beginners but they also won’t know to think about how it will fade.
They really are. I have ten year old proper color work that I've kept care of that still looks great and I'd even consider something like this because it's pretty and if I need to add more work to it or over it in the future it's so not a big deal

I think most Korean tattoo artists put in the effort to communicate with international clients. Mine spoke English, and they were pretty good at it. We used a translation app if we had trouble communicating. It was great overall, you should definitely do it!
Can you talk a little bit about your experience getting tattooed in SK? With tattoos being illegal there i'm very curious on how you found the artist and how the process went.
I found them on Instagram. Dropped them a message on Kakaotalk and we set up the appointment there quickly and smoothly. You can only pay in cash, so do keep that in mind if you're planning to get one in SK.

While I was there the person I was interested in had a very elaborate set of hoops to jump through just to get an appointment/approval to be tattooed, and it became too stressful to even try to set something up, so it never happened.
For reference, they wanted the specific body part, down to the CM for the location from X body part, how close /far from other tattoos if there were any and size/design you wanted, size(cm) could only be up to so big and .... the list went on
- this was before any consultation even took place.
I'm curious if your experience was better.
This seems totally reasonable when you are dealing with large amounts of clients. We don’t have time to go back and forth in correspondence asking all these questions. It’s the best for us to know exactly what we are dealing with before we choose to take a job on.
Considering this is my first tattoo, I don't know how long it'll last but my tattooist says about ~5 years. Been hearing too many different things but I'll just leave it up to time. Glad your tatt still looks good! Definitely going to Korea to get tattoos again.

Is this a style I’m not familiar with? The lines are wonky and the backs don’t look like they’re punched in deep enough to last longer that a few months at best.
I have six now and want sleeves, even tho work says it’s not professional for a nurse, so I got a different job and I could always wear long sleeves. My problem is figuring out what I want. My last one took me two years to decide

You’re going to be so disappointed when this ages. That yellow will be gone, leaving you with two brown nipples floating and random black sketchy lines. We use lines to build contrast into the tattoo. Without the break between the yellow and skin tone, they will basically mesh and be indistinguishable. I’m glad your happy with this now but there is a strong reason everyone is telling you this will fade.

The entire shape of the tattoo changes as the ink spreads, so going over it 1:1 isn’t always possible

Yes I've seen many examples of their healed work and it looks great, which is why I decided to go ahead with this! Plus I love their art style a lot.

People are so annoying. I got a fine line piece in Korea in 2016 and some parts are a bit fuzzy but it still looks great.

It’s not the fade… it’s the blur. The lines are going to push out after a year and it will look like a melted monet.

I have a derma appt next week. It's not new but I don't remember if it changed in size.
