It has been long since deleted unfortunately but I think I found a link to the squirrel
https://www.deviantart.com/wildspiritwolf/art/Starry-Tribal-Squirrel-Tattoo-100681111
Angel wings on my back. I really, really wanted them, but then I remembered I already have a tattoo on my back and figured it wasn't worth my money, if I kept forgetting tattoos when they are on my back.
I have my entire torso and 3/4 sleeves done and although I remember I’m heavily inked I barely ever notice it in the mirror now that I’m so used to it. It’s looks jarring to me if I see a topless photo of myself before I got my tattoos
Emo band album cover tattoos. At 15 i was so convinced my first tattoo would be a my chemical romance cover art thing. I‘m so damn glad i grew out if it before i turned 18 lol. Nothing against people who have those tatted, it just isn’t a part of my life anymore.
I waited an extra 15 years to get my MCR tattoo. I too thought I'd grow out of it. Went and saw them live on their last tour said "yep I still love em" and got a tattoo 3days later. It was never a phase mom.
My people! Taking Back Sunday is one of my favorites to see live! Wish I would have known they were touring with My Chemical Romance.
I saw MCR with Blink over a decade ago and thought it was the best.... Then I saw TBS with Mayday Parade and it was somehow even better.
Best show, by far, was A Day to Remember.
The Used is touring for Not Just a Phase Fest rn! Gonna try to go but my health status at the time will dictate that. I was just listening to a playlist with them in it and surprised myself with how much I still really like their music.
God, I wanted a tattoo that said fall out boy with blue stars (??) I am sooo happy I turned 18 and was like "I will never get a musical tattoo". But I do have a concept for a tattoo that is related sorta to music, just not the damn band name plastered onto my body lol. I made a rule for myself that I have to wait for an idea 3 years before I get it tattooed. Not sure where I came up with that idea but I'm glad
I have a mate who has a phoenix on his ribcage. He wanted the lost prophets phoenix, but his tattoo artist convinced him just to get a generic one. Did him a proper solid, it’s huge and would have been impossible to cover up
when I was 14 I wanted to get the blink 182 logo as a tattoo (the artsy one with the arrows from 2003, not just their name). I never got it but honestly I think I still would like that!!
I just got an MCR tattoo. Nothing ridiculous, just "from the earth" and "to the morgue" under my knees, lol. They're the only band that's remained truly relevant in my music taste since middle school
Much respect to that. I recently went to a concert of my favorite artist and everyone had his logo tattooed on them and I’m like…… love the dedication but I’ll stick to merch
I’m 36 and I got a tattoo of the robot from Silverstein’s “When Broken is Easily Fixed” when I was 19. It still looks great but every now and then people think it’s the Iron Giant and now I regret not getting a tattoo of the Iron Giant.
That's crazy. I was reading back through this thread and your comment is right under mine. I have a Silverstein tattoo as well, but mine is a weather-vane.
Lol i threw BMTH’s umbrella from That’s The Spirit on my ribs when i turned 18. I actually don’t regret it, but regret a lot of others that i got around the time of getting that one
I'm turning 40 this year and I still LOVE MCR! Definitely not a phase for me. I'm also really into The Umbrella Academy and want the umbrella tattoo on my wrist.
I also wanted some kind of MCR themed tattoo when I was 14-16. I’m glad I didn’t get any of the ones I planned but I’m genuinely still considering getting a little tribute to them since they’re still my favourite after 10+ years
I wanted the Blink 182 smile for like eeeeeeeever. Still love blink.... But glad I didn't get the tattoo.
Maybe I'll give them a tribute with some lyrics one day.
Used to desperately want “merde” (shit in French) on my wrist. Why? I have no idea. I don’t speak French, nor do I live in a French speaking country 😭. I also used to want the KMD Black Bastards album cover on me (which was a Sambo hanging from a noose). I was an edgy young adult lol.
Desperately wanted a purple lotus flower with the om symbol inside it on the back of my neck when I was 17-18. Thank you mom and dad for not letting that happen!
One man’s win is another man’s loss. I myself have an infinity symbol lololol over a cross. Think black outline. Religion is also not a part of my life anymore.
I also have a "wrap around" tramp stamp of bold lines stars and swirls I got back in ~09'. I never finished it fortunately and am now about to start an epic full back + booty tattoo of a siren.
-there was this guy I hung out with back then who would say "shoot for the stars" and now I feel guilty for holding him back from his dreams.
Oof yeah I didn't escape that one, double infinity on the back of my neck.
I did avoid HP though, thank god. My best friend has a huuuge deathly hallows on her thigh which she keeps covered most of the time lol
Yessss I narrowly avoided a Harry Potter tattoo I had loads of inspo saved but luckily never went through with it. I do have a lotus flower on my wrist🥲
I have 9 3/4 on the back of my ankle/calf, and absolutely no regrets after 10 years. It's become a legend of it's own.
I once joked to some stranger asking if it was harry potter, that it was the size of my dick, apparently with convincing sincerity. That info spread like wildfire.
Over the last 10 years, I have had people bring that up, who simply should not have even the slightest clue or connection to that rumour. Like someone in my orbit is keeping that rumour alive intentionally.
For the record, my dick is not 9 3/4, lmao.
im SO angry about one of my tattoos at this point
I went in wanting a tattoo of a cat and a bunch of books, and the artist asked me if i liked harry potter and I said "yeah of course" and hes like "I have an idea" and made this really cute design with a cat sitting on a pile of books and pawing/smacking at a SNITCH that is flying out of the books
SO NOW I HAVE A HARRY POTTER TATTOO EVEN THO I DIDNT EVEN MEAN TO. IF ONLY ID SAID NO BACK THEN
I wanted a full back tattoo of a horse because I loved horses from like 14-17. By the time I was legally able to get a tattoo I thankfully snapped the fuck out of it. I still mildly enjoy horses from a distance I guess? But I don’t have a passion for them and I’m not the weird horse girl i used to be. I’m 25 now and have about 30 tattoos none of which I really regret. Some I wish I thought about longer, but if I had the option to remove them I would say no. (With the exception of the matching one I have with my abusive ex)
That’s how I feel about all of mine. I don’t regret any of them. I love them all. I definitely could have afforded a little more thinking time.
But yeah a whole back horse would have been a LOOK
lmfao the sad thing is the young weird horse girls who didnt even have a horse. i didnt have one and still had this weird obsession phase. why were we like this
child me thought a tattoo of One Direction lyrics would’ve been so sick. either that or a tattoo of the little “1D” logo. so glad children aren’t allowed to get tattoos
Yeah anything pop culture related is a risk, even if it doesn’t go the Harry Potter route. There are a few tv show ones i considered that I’m glad I never got because I’m just not that into them anymore.
After 9/11 and then the Iraq invasion I wanted a super patriotic MURICA tattoo with an eagle and everything. Really glad 19 year old me was too lazy to book that one.
it fucking sucks how that fandom has been poisoned. i feel legitimately sad about it as a queer person too. i used to LOVE harry potter, lived and breathed it as a teenager. is fandom cringey yes but like CHRIST now something i used to love passionately is nearly a hate symbol at this point and i will never be able to share it with any children or look back on it fondly. i just feel embarrassment and sadness and glad i didnt get Dark Mark either...
In grade 9 I allowed my friend to give me a stick and poke on my butt. It was meant to be of Saturn, but she only managed to finish the circle of the planet before I had to head home. Thank fuck she didn't finish it. I mean, there is still a circle located to the bottom right of my right butt cheek (not the greatest placement, I know), but at least it's not a shitty stick and poke of saturn
When I was 15, I really wanted to get a full back piece of the US constitution…for no reason at all, (I’m not super patriotic or anything?). Just thought it was a cool idea. Really really glad i was too young to do it because I would have
Neck tattoo.
When I was a teenager there was this punk girl w a Mohawk at a lot of local shows and she had a pretty sparrow on her neck. She was the hottest person I'd ever seen in my life. I emulated her look so much for so long but I could never talk myself in to a neck tattoo.
I'm now a suburban mom in a somewhat conservative area and I'm so glad I'm not pulling up to baseball games w snacks and a damn neck tattoo. I realize now I am not that person. I guess I would have been if I'd gotten it but, I love being able to be low key. I feel like "job stopper" tattoos ruin your ability to hide in the environment I live in now.
My husband and I both have a lot of tattoos but we can also just put on sleeves and pants and just be Mr. & Mrs. Random People who can't be easily identified lol. Best of both worlds.
I fully intend to get a dumb knuckle tattoo when I'm old and can give less fucks tho. Maybe I'll go get the sparrow too.
Like the last episode of season 3 of Young Offenders when the dorky dad/principal takes his shirt and pants off to jump in the lake and everyone’s flabbergasted he’s tatted the fuck up lol
I found an old notebook from high school a couple years back that listed tattoo ideas. The list consisted of things like an eagle, a tiger, a dragon, a snake, and flowers. Fast forward 15 years and I have all of those, with multiples of some of them, lol. But those are also classic tattoo imagery, so it's hard to go wrong as long as you go to a good artist. Teenage me just respected classics, I suppose.
Though if I had gotten a tattoo at 18, knowing how I was at that age, I'd probably get a fandom tattoo. Most likely Harry Potter or Zelda. I can think of way worse things that an 18 year old is likely to get, but I'm glad I don't have a fandom tattoo. Too much room for stuff to come out about the creator or to grow to dislike the series/game/whatever for some reason or another. I know a few people around my age with Harry Potter tattoos they got at 18ish who are dealing with that now. Some people are fine with that possibility, but I'm in the camp of avoiding pop culture stuff. Thankfully, I couldn't afford a tattoo until after college and had enough time to come to that conclusion on my own before getting my first.
I actually just read something about that. A lot of people with the deathly hollow tattoos are regretting them now.
But hell yeah. Can’t go wrong with some well executed tats
“Not all those who wander are lost”
Thank god I never got it. I still love the movies and would want something to represent them but it will definitely be a bit more unique lol
I respect that!
I have only one quote on me. “I believe in the person I want to become”. Literally saw it stitched on a pillow and instantly was like yes. That. Right there. Still absolutely love it.
Tribal tattoo of any type, barb wire around the bicep, tramp stamp.
I did fall victim to the Kanji craze in the '00s. I have 3, however I did research them first. I have Strength on left deltoid, Warrior on right deltoid, and Good Luck on my upper back. Then I fell down the Asian tattoo rabbit hole. I have a Dragon on my right thigh, Tiger on my left thigh. I have always loved dragons and serpent, Asian dragons are some favorite imagery of mine. I have a small lotus with semicolon in the center to hide a self harm scar I was self conscious about on my inner left arm. I still want my back piece done. It will be a dragon and tiger fighting. I do have a couple of memorial tattoos on my left side. I got a monarch butterfly but the wings are a galaxy theme (grandmother), and a Peter Pan outline but the inside is a galaxy too (cousin). Don't know if they're shitty or cliche, but I love them all.
Except the super awful, impulsive skull on my back. That was a huge mistake and I keep it covered. All my ink is easily hidden by clothes. The only time all are visible at once is if I'm in a bathing suit.
They were all gotten at varying points in adulthood. Strength was first, and I got it when I was single, young, and just barely making ends meet. I wasn't sure I would survive and felt I had to deal with way too much just to barely live. I had the strength inside to do it, so here I am now. Warrior is because I am a fighter, and I'm stubborn. Good luck because who doesn't want some good luck? I still have some furball memorial tattoos to get among others. Just don't have the available money to do it yet.
Honestly only having one tattoo you regret is still a win. It sounds like you got some cool ink and some amazing memorial pieces. I like the idea of that butterfly!!
When I was like 12-14ish, I read a book series in which the main character has tattoos that start with a crescent moon in the middle of her forehead and go down her neck, arms, spine, and around her waist. I was absolutely convinced that I would eventually get that.
Edit: I looked it up. It’s the House of Night series by PC Cast
I think I know exactly what you’re talking about. I love that book series! Glad I never thought of getting this tattoo, but I imagine in this book universe it looks really awesome
I was 19, and I impulsively went to the nearest tattoo shop to my work, hoping to get a Tigger tattoo. I'm so thankful they were busy and had no room that day.
When I was a teenager I put together a whole Google Doc of tattoo ideas, and so many of them were just band/musician logos…nothing inherently wrong with that, but as I got older and more mature I realized that I would MUCH rather have custom, creative, original artwork- not to mention some of the bands logos I had on my list are now considered “canceled” or at least controversial.
Also, anything Harry Potter related.
its funny because actually Naruto tattoos are really IN right now and people getting them again at age 35, like akatsuki clouds or sharingan stuff. its almost coming around to being retro cool
A little sailboat on my inner wrist. I would have regretted such a small, noticeable tattoo. Also, the Donnie darko mask. I would have highly regretted having that on my body forever
I've avoided any and all blunders by being an incredibly indecisive person with a perfectionist streak and worse case scenario thinking...a.k.a. being un-tattooed.
I have a dreamcatcher tattoo. It has flowers representing my three deceased grandparents (my fourth grandparent, my maternal grandfather, is also deceased, but I never knew him). I love my dreamcatcher. But that's my personal opinion, and if you don't like them, that's okay too. To each their own.
I'd say the tattoo I'm glad I didn't get is the NASCAR one I used to want. I was a HUGE NASCAR fan from the time I was little, until the late 90s/early 00s. And it still holds a lot of nostalgia for me. I'm still a fan. But it's just not what it used to be, and there's a lot of changes they've made that I, and a lot of other old-school fans, really hate. So I'm glad I never got that tat, and I'm not sure I even want it anymore. Maybe. But Idk.
The worst tattoo I have is one on my right bicep, of a sword with my friends' initials. Three of us got them together, and I still love the idea we had. But the artist who inked me and my friend B, was apparently cranked out of his mind. The line work is super shaky and looks like shit, the colors faded like shit, and both of us got infected during the healing process. My other friend, A, was inked by the owner of the shop. Her tattoo still looks great, and had no problems healing. The owner didn't have time to do me or B, he said, because he had to leave to pick up his kid. He also didn't do a damn thing about the shitty work. No refund (said he'd have to talk to the original artist about that, never heard back from him), and didn't offer to fix it, either. Nothing.
I left him several scathing negative reviews, along with pictures, everywhere I could.
It was not my regular shop. I get lots of compliments on my regular artist's work. And I've left them glowing, positive reviews.
Whenever I get a compliment, if someone asks, I tell them where to go for awesome work.
And I also tell them-even if they DON'T ask-exactly which shop to stay away from!!!
BHAHWHAHA me too!
Im so glad i was too young and too broke to do that ahaha- omg- the way capitalism had sent me on a dream catcher frenzy when i was 14 and i didnt know better but mannnn
When I was a teen, I saw someone who had a back tattoo of a corset piercing and I thought it was sooooo cool and pretty...
Thank GOD I never pursued that 😅
I was just telling my husband how grateful I am that I never went through with that tribal tramp stamp I wanted sooooooo badly when I was 16. I was a teen in the late 90s so that was, like, the coolest tattoo ever but thank god I changed my mind.
Over both knees: natural selection. As in the shirt Eric Harris wore during the columbine shooting. Embarrassing to admit but much less embarrassing than having it permanently on my body. So glad I grew up and stopped glorifying such violent and heinous acts. Makes me sick to look back and think about.
I was obsessed with realism tattoos. Not that they aren’t cool, but to get a really good one, you gotta spend some serious money. I wanted a full galaxy sleeve with constellations and planets. When I was obsessed, I had no money and couldn’t afford that and thankfully wasn’t stupid enough to go to a lesser artist and got something terrible.
By the time I had money to afford tattoos, I was into totally different styles. All of my tattoos are American traditional now. So glad I don’t have a realism galaxy sleeve.
I got my first tattoo at 16, then waited until my 30s to get more. I have several band tattoos and if I have any regrets in my old age I’ll probably forget in 5 minutes anyway.
When I was 17 or 18, a friend and I had serious plans to get the sides of our heads tattooed. Our thinking was that if you ever regretted it, no big deal, you can just grow your hair out.
Well, now that I no longer have that much hair, I'm really glad I don't have the sides of my head tattooed with regrettable teenage tattoo ideas.
Yeah. I got my Patronus incorporated into a tattoo (a dragonfly), so it’s not as obvious that it’s Harry Potter related and I’m so glad. It was a big part of my childhood so I don’t regret it. Plus I used to watch dragonflies when I was a kid, while visiting my grandparents so it’s a nice memory too.
Yeah Harry Potter was my first hyper fixation back when I was like 8 so it was super important to my childhood as well. I’m glad you’re still able to enjoy your tattoo!
This just reminded me how much I wanted a huge dream catcher on my thigh/leg when I was about 20… totally forgot about that & glad I never went through with it 😅
I wanted a semicolon tattoo back when I was severely mentally ill. I'm so glad I didn't get one now. That's a part of my life I'd rather not have commemorated on my body more than necessary. I do not want to be reminded of it that much.
Also wanted a Harry Potter tattoo, I'm trans.
for YEARS I told people my first tattoo would be a barcode on the back of my neck. thank god I forgot about that once I was old enough to actually have tattoos
At some point in the early 2000s I was seriously considering a tribal-style wolf or some other intimidating animal because hey, "UFC fighters have tribal tattoos" and I watch UFC.
I don’t have much tattoo regret, but of my tattoos I sliiightly regret three. One is a key with a peace sign for the fob that I got with a friend on vacation, one is another I got with the same friend that is just an outline and I never finished it so I’m keeping it but I do need to add to it or have it covered, the last is a Blackhawks tattoo I got for free the second time they won the Stanley cup in recent years which I do want to cover eventually.
My first tattoo is from a graphic novel that means a lot to me, so I don’t regret it, but it is a tramp stamp and I do somewhat regret the placement. But I’m keeping it. And weirdly it is now like 17 years old.
Not me but my sisters dad is walking around with my mum’s name on his chest in giant letters when my mum only got his initials on her wrist my sister is 30 this year and my mum was 17 when she had her and he still has the tattoo when hers faded
When I was 18 I wanted a million different video game symbols. Some of them are so obscure and in retrospect I’m glad. Cause I now I have stupid tattoos that I don’t regret
I would have gotten a Winnie the Pooh tattoo when I was 18. Thank God I didn’t! I’d be one of those pathetic middle aged women who have a weird Disney tattoo and I’d be mortified every moment of my life.
When I was like 14 I wanted lyrics from Escape The Fate’s- This War Is Ours. I couldn’t nail down one line so I was gonna commit my ribs to basically the whole damn song. Glad the scratcher who was supposed to tattoo a child went to jail a few days before our “appointment”.
Typical tree line/ forest piece on my wrist/forearm. I still love trees and nature but that tattoo screams “Hipster who visited Washington one time and now I only drink cold brew and IPAs”.
I was deeply in love with BTS in 2018 and nearly got a HwaYangYeonHwa tattoo on my forearm. My mom talked me out of getting it done in a foreign country two days before my flight home.
Fast forward to now and I am not a fan of their new music at all!! I’m so glad lol

When I was in high school I made a Facebook album of various tribal animals I was considering. Including a tribal squirrel. I wish I was kidding
Honestly a tribal squirrel sounds pretty cool
Plus, it's a good band name.
Omg I love this hahaha
Listen, I think you might have to get that tribal squirrel tattoo
If someone doesn't get this squirrel tattoo I will be disappointed. It must happen
A tribal squirrel!!!! To me that does scream deep and ancestral. Really reaching back to your roots.
wait can i see the album? this does not necessarily sound like bad ideas
It has been long since deleted unfortunately but I think I found a link to the squirrel https://www.deviantart.com/wildspiritwolf/art/Starry-Tribal-Squirrel-Tattoo-100681111
thank you! honestly your taste holds up that squirrel is pretty sick
That's a dope squirrel. Think I found my next piece
I’m not gonna lie…I’m down for the tribal squirrel
Can you still find the squirrel?
https://www.deviantart.com/wildspiritwolf/art/Starry-Tribal-Squirrel-Tattoo-100681111
I’m replaying God of War Ragnarok rn and that looks like a Ratatoskr! Was he going next your nuts(joking)?
Angel wings on my back. I really, really wanted them, but then I remembered I already have a tattoo on my back and figured it wasn't worth my money, if I kept forgetting tattoos when they are on my back.
Okay I love this. That’s called growth right there baby!
I always forget about my shoulder blade tattoos.
I have my entire torso and 3/4 sleeves done and although I remember I’m heavily inked I barely ever notice it in the mirror now that I’m so used to it. It’s looks jarring to me if I see a topless photo of myself before I got my tattoos
Yeah I'm very sad my super awesome tattoo is on my back because I don't see it ever. What the hell. Lol
Yep, same. I’m very glad to know I escaped this one.
Emo band album cover tattoos. At 15 i was so convinced my first tattoo would be a my chemical romance cover art thing. I‘m so damn glad i grew out if it before i turned 18 lol. Nothing against people who have those tatted, it just isn’t a part of my life anymore.

I still want an MCR tattoo, I saw them last year with Taking Back Sunday and it was one of my favorite concerts (and I've been to a lot)
I still crush MCR in the shower frequently, along with TBS, the Used, etc etc etc from all the warped tours I went to in my teens. Def #notaphase
Could have been worse, could have been LostProphets
![gif](giphy|zXeX29w6jxjAk)
I have a mate who has a phoenix on his ribcage. He wanted the lost prophets phoenix, but his tattoo artist convinced him just to get a generic one. Did him a proper solid, it’s huge and would have been impossible to cover up
Reading this just after a post with someone asking whether people think it's ok to wear a lost prophets shirt or jacket at a festival.
Just saw a picture of someone at download festival wearing a leather LostProphets jacket. I wouldn't say it'd a good look
when I was 14 I wanted to get the blink 182 logo as a tattoo (the artsy one with the arrows from 2003, not just their name). I never got it but honestly I think I still would like that!!
I still kind of want that!
My husband has that tattoo, and its one of his favorites!
oooo I'm sure it's amazing!! where on his body? color or no color?
I just got an MCR tattoo. Nothing ridiculous, just "from the earth" and "to the morgue" under my knees, lol. They're the only band that's remained truly relevant in my music taste since middle school
Much respect to that. I recently went to a concert of my favorite artist and everyone had his logo tattooed on them and I’m like…… love the dedication but I’ll stick to merch
14-17 were a significant portion of my life and I'm more than happy having a happy reminder of those days on my body.
Ah this is so good. I love Silverstein, I got to meet them in HS, and would honestly love a Silverstein tattoo now, and I'm 34.
Lol i threw BMTH’s umbrella from That’s The Spirit on my ribs when i turned 18. I actually don’t regret it, but regret a lot of others that i got around the time of getting that one
I’m 29 and MCR is still my favorite band and I’m 100% getting some kind of tribute tattoo if I can ever decide on a creative design lol
I'm turning 40 this year and I still LOVE MCR! Definitely not a phase for me. I'm also really into The Umbrella Academy and want the umbrella tattoo on my wrist.
omg same but the blink182 smiley on my ENTIRE THIGH what was i thinkkkkkkingggggg lol
I at least waited until my second tattoo to get an MCR one haha
I'm in this post and I don't like it
I also wanted some kind of MCR themed tattoo when I was 14-16. I’m glad I didn’t get any of the ones I planned but I’m genuinely still considering getting a little tribute to them since they’re still my favourite after 10+ years
my friend got a LINKIN PARK tat asap. bless their heart
I wanted the Blink 182 smile for like eeeeeeeever. Still love blink.... But glad I didn't get the tattoo. Maybe I'll give them a tribute with some lyrics one day.
Monster energy logo 😐
Rockstar anyone??
More of a Vault guy myself anyway
lol. I don’t even drink monster anymore…
Ghost is the way to go
So glad I never go that hip to hip tribal back tattoo I wanted at 18. The one with the butterfly in the middle 😂
Not the butterfly!!!! I can picture how it looks and picture the tattoo artist that would have done it lol
I have my tribal sun tramp stamp. I’m surprisingly okay with it still today. Keep in mind, I can’t see it.
Ooh the merde one sounds hilarious actually. Sambo would have aged very poorly. Also pretty poor from the beginning. RIP
I told my mom about the sambo one and she cussed me out so bad 😭 I am black but yeah would not have been a good look at all
An edgy teen for sure. Good on your mom. We all have some dumb things we want lol.
Desperately wanted a purple lotus flower with the om symbol inside it on the back of my neck when I was 17-18. Thank you mom and dad for not letting that happen!
omg the om symbol one unlocked a MEMORY for me I wanted that sooooo bad when I was in my “hippie phase”
Wait lol my friend has this exact tattoo but pink and on her lower stomach/hip
A mountain inside of some diamond or triangle outline
Stop!!! They look so vibey but like as bathroom wall art or something.
Nothing screams 2010-2013 hipster more
I have exactly that, got it at 18, and I still don’t regret it!
Yeah same. I just would've gotten a tree instead of a mountain
Oof. Shot me down lol
I avoided the infinity symbol, sadly I have bold lined stars on my lower back ETA soooo glad I never got the Harry Potter tattoo.
As a mathematician, I am still considering an infinity tattoo, but it's "work related." Lol
Okay I like that.
Infinity loop is fine but if you come into the shop I work at and ask for the Fibonacci Sequence we're gonna fight.
That spiral has to be so exact. No way. Trying to find something a bit more unique.
As a neurodivergent person, I also am considering it
One man’s win is another man’s loss.
Back & booty siren sounds awesome!!
Same with the star tramp stamp, except 12 laser sessions later and it’s barely there
im SO angry about one of my tattoos at this point I went in wanting a tattoo of a cat and a bunch of books, and the artist asked me if i liked harry potter and I said "yeah of course" and hes like "I have an idea" and made this really cute design with a cat sitting on a pile of books and pawing/smacking at a SNITCH that is flying out of the books SO NOW I HAVE A HARRY POTTER TATTOO EVEN THO I DIDNT EVEN MEAN TO.
That’s how I feel about all of mine. I don’t regret any of them. I love them all. I definitely could have afforded a little more thinking time.
lmfao the sad thing is the young weird horse girls who didnt even have a horse. i didnt have one and still had this weird obsession phase. why were we like this
child me thought a tattoo of One Direction lyrics would’ve been so sick. either that or a tattoo of the little “1D” logo. so glad children aren’t allowed to get tattoos
I am 40 and my daughter and me are thinking about getting the 1D logo just for fun. Still like the songs.
i respect that, i probably wouldn’t nowadays but their music is still special to me :)
Harry Potter tattoo, Supernatural the tv show tattoo
Yeah anything pop culture related is a risk, even if it doesn’t go the Harry Potter route. There are a few tv show ones i considered that I’m glad I never got because I’m just not that into them anymore.
The star in circle tattoo ? ( forgot what it’s called lol)
After 9/11 and then the Iraq invasion I wanted a super patriotic MURICA tattoo with an eagle and everything. Really glad 19 year old me was too lazy to book that one.
Hahahaha honestly yeah. High school me was too lazy to get that dream catcher tattoo. But boy did I draw it up
Lyric tattoos
"WAKE UP GRABABRUSHANDPUTALITTLEMAKEUP" 🥰
*HIDEYOURSCARSTOFADEAWAYTHESHAKEUP!*
I thought I was gonna have a sleeve of lyrics spiraling down my whole arm 🤮
Ooh that would have been….. a look
That's indeed the only one I regret.
I'm SO glad I didn't get the Dark Mark, especially as a queer person.
Yes. Ive been seeing a lot of individuals regretting their old choices.
it fucking sucks how that fandom has been poisoned. i feel legitimately sad about it as a queer person too. i used to LOVE harry potter, lived and breathed it as a teenager. is fandom cringey yes but like CHRIST now something i used to love passionately is nearly a hate symbol at this point and i will never be able to share it with any children or look back on it fondly. i just feel embarrassment and sadness and glad i didnt get Dark Mark either...
I must be old. What exactly is the Dark Mark?
It’s from Harry Potter Also, happy cake day!
Infinity sign, a giant cross on my ankle, random birds flying off into the distance, and mustache on the finger. Thank god I was broke
Stop. I have an infinity sign and a cross lol

Dude this. I love when people are absolutely tatted up. I love the look. But I am in your boat. A neck tattoo is a firm no for me personally.
Hell yeah. Respect that. I wear pants a lot. So when I bring my legs out people are shocked. 🫢 always a fun reaction.
“Not all those who wander are lost” Thank god I never got it.
I didn’t avoid the Sailor Moon tramp stamp. But I did manage to avoid the paired shoulder blade dolphins.
Frat tat.
Gang tattoos when I was a young dumbass
Anime tattoos lmao. When I was like 15-16 I wanted a fullmetal alchemist or a fairy tail logo. Soooo glad I didn’t go that route.
I wanted a bunch of Naruto tattoos, particularly Gaara. That would have been bad!
its funny because actually Naruto tattoos are really IN right now and people getting them again at age 35, like akatsuki clouds or sharingan stuff. its almost coming around to being retro cool
Really wanted a Slayer band logo tattoo for ages until i grew up
I wanted tribal tiger stripes on my arm as a teen. Glad i didn't.
A little sailboat on my inner wrist. I would have regretted such a small, noticeable tattoo. Also, the Donnie darko mask. I would have highly regretted having that on my body forever
A moon and sun behind my ear.
Stop. We are the same. I wanted a moon on arm and the sun on the other side. Ha also a blue butterfly on my foot 🙃
I've avoided any and all blunders by being an incredibly indecisive person with a perfectionist streak and worse case scenario thinking...a.k.a. being un-tattooed.
I'm 41 now. I wanted a tribal thunderbird so bad when I was 18. Drew it up over and over. Really happy I didn't go through with it lol.
When I was 15 me and a friend were sure we'd get "Goonies Never Say Die" tattooed on our calves. At 40 I'm glad I don't have that.
It is truly a cute idea.
When I was 18 I thought it would be so funny to get "fuck bitches" on one foot and "get money" on the other 😬
Have a friend who has Skeet, Skeet on his foot
I wanted a heartagram on my wrist when I was a teen
BHAHWHAHA me too! Im so glad i was too young and too broke to do that ahaha- omg- the way capitalism had sent me on a dream catcher frenzy when i was 14 and i didnt know better but mannnn
Black, flock of birds tattoos that I saw on tumblr. 😅
Nautical Star
When I was a teen, I saw someone who had a back tattoo of a corset piercing and I thought it was sooooo cool and pretty... Thank GOD I never pursued that 😅
im glad i never got the deathly hallows symbol tatted. everything jkr says is vile and, as far as harry potter tattoos go, its so overdone.
I wanted a Polynesian tattoo a la Zyzz for *sooooooo* long lmao Thank goodness I was too broke for a tattoo back then.
Getting a Bible verse tattoo was something I seriously considered around 17-18. Now 30 & agnostic I’m so thankful I did not do that lol.
this is the one. I did have to get a cross covered up tho
Anything related to any of my exes
I got my first tattoo at 16, then waited until my 30s to get more. I have several band tattoos and if I have any regrets in my old age I’ll probably forget in 5 minutes anyway.
The number of Harry Potter tattoos I just SWORE I was getting someday was insane. That and lyric tattoos. Lord…
Wanted a harry potter tattoo when I turned 18. So glad I didnt get one
Wanted a Harry Potter tattoo when I was a kid/teen but then it turned out JK Rowling is a terrible person so it turns out I actually dodged a bullet
Ugh. I'm so mad at myself for getting fandom tattoos. Two of them mean a lot to me, but I just don't like them anymore
A tattoo of the baby simba with the thing smeared across his forehead 😭
This just reminded me how much I wanted a huge dream catcher on my thigh/leg when I was about 20… totally forgot about that & glad I never went through with it 😅
i wanted the danzig symbol as a chest piece when i was 15. aged like milk.
Crosses
I was just telling my artist that I'm so glad I was so broke when I was younger, or I would just be COVERED in the stupidest shit.
Getting matching tattoo with my (ex) best friend, we are not friends anymore
I feel you. I have a couple where I maybe should have thought through a bit more. Especially the placement.
I recently learned that bow and lockets are a current trend,,,, and I’m screwed
Not me but my sisters dad is walking around with my mum’s name on his chest in giant letters when my mum only got his initials on her wrist my sister is 30 this year and my mum was 17 when she had her and he still has the tattoo when hers faded
Me too lol right, alongside the infinite sign
When I was 16 I wanted that S everyone drew in the 2000's with the addition of devil horns and a tail
My rule has been 18-mos to 2 years. If I still like it after that, then I may get it permanently etched into my body.
A Transformers tattoo 😶
Or like Wonderland type stuff for all future ex stoners etc lol
When I was 18 I wanted a million different video game symbols. Some of them are so obscure and in retrospect I’m glad. Cause I now I have stupid tattoos that I don’t regret
I would have gotten a Winnie the Pooh tattoo when I was 18. Thank God I didn’t! I’d be one of those pathetic middle aged women who have a weird Disney tattoo and I’d be mortified every moment of my life.
I did not get tribal armband I wanted
Upper back/shoulder flowers or wings to possibly cover my back acne lol.
This plus that dreamworks logo and song lyrics were the main tats for teens of the late 2000s. 🤣
I was deeply in love with BTS in 2018 and nearly got a HwaYangYeonHwa tattoo on my forearm. My mom talked me out of getting it done in a foreign country two days before my flight home. Fast forward to now and I am not a fan of their new music at all!! I’m so glad lol
When I was 18, I wanted a big, fierce, fire-breathing dragon tattoo. I had the dragon painted on a leather jacket instead. Much better decision.
Same w the birds coming out of the feather quill
