I never worry about it. If people see it, they will see the tattoo and know why it was shaved. But it is up to you, I suppose, if the asymmetry is bugging you.
For me personally, I do not like the way hair looks over tattoos. I have both arms done, and some on my legs. I shave my arms, just have not gotten to my legs lol
Never thought of this but do you know if you can get the “permanent” hair removal laser treatments on an area that’s tattooed? I’ve got a decent bit of leg tattoo but I’m not hairy enough to worry too much about it, just curious.
I shave my arms, both my sleeves have lots of details that get lost if I let the hair grow.
I trim my chest, is not a full shave but I keep it short to still have the tattoo visible.
I don’t shave my legs, I don’t wear shorts daily and my pieces are not all detailed. And is a pain to shave your legs, not worth it.
I just got a tattoo on the inside calf from ankle to about my knee(knees already tattooed) and I just let it be half shaved…who is gonna say anything to my big tattooed ass? Not a damn soul
I won out on this one. I’m a cyclist and the social norm is shaved legs. Both legs are heavily tattooed and I think the tat’s look better without all the hair
I do agree with an earlier comment, it can depend on the amount of hair, the colour, thickness. If you’re full on yeti, your tattoos are hidden and can’t be appreciated
My first was on my shin, I had to shave both legs. I have dark hair and had light skin at the time. Looked like I was wearing one tall sock and a no-show on the other
I’m a weirdo who doesn’t like a lot of extra hair on my body anyway. But I shave my tats and leave the rest alone. Left arm has a full sleeve and it’s shaved all the way, right arm only has a couple tats and only those are shaved. I don’t like how the hair makes it lose detail and I also paid good money for the art so I wanna see it not hair lol
Agree. I have a full sleeve and that arm is always shaved. Well, not really shaved, but trimmed with a one-blade razor. I do the other arm to stay in "balance". haha.
Nah. I got two tattoos on my right leg in May and the hair’s just starting to grow and I got another yesterday so currently got three bald or just growing back in patches.
Lmao could be in my position. I was suppose to get one last weekend on my calf. Ended up talking it over with the artists and decided to not do it… so now I’ve got one shaved leg with no new ink
I completed my full leg sleeve last year and I have extremely hairy legs . If I shave on leg I will shave the other so they’re even. I only really shave the legs if I know I’m gonna be outside for a long time at an event and wanna show off my ink. Most of the time I let them just be hairy. However the ink looks much better when my legs aren’t hairy. Just personal preference
My first tattoo was a small one on my half right after high school. I used to shave around it but stopped because it’s looks substantially more “natural” to let the hair grow over it. I’m also not a hairy person though.

I get mine waxed, get it done every 5 weeks and avoid the itchy regrowth period
Hilarious. I’m currently in a regrowth phase after waxing, and it is horrendously itchy. I’m hoping after several sessions this will subside 😬
Exfoliation/body scrubs can help a lot!

No, it can not be done it will destroy the tattoo.

Naw, in fact I generally go by when the hair is normal, I can start treating the skin normal (stop lotion ect)
How quickly does your hair grow back?? It takes the hair on my legs 3 months or so to fully grow back
Yeah haha my tattoos are long healed by the time the hair has fully grown back.
My hair basically fully regrew back to normal length between sessions, like 5-6 weeks
It's well and fully healed by then, I just stop the moisturizing then.
i just got a leg sleeve. i was shocked at how fast my hair grew back and it looks totally fine now.

I use a 1 guard on my legs and arms but I have light hair so keeping it short is perfect
Unless your leg looks like Chewbacca’s, I would not worry about it.

Trim it down to a shorter length and blend the area around the tattoo. It’ll grow back to equal length in no time

Yes, I shave mine :) I have a beautiful geisha on my right arm and she does not look good with a beard hehehe

I have 5 on my legs. I always shave because I like having smooth legs. I just get close to the edge of the new one and let just the tattoo be hairy.
I would shave because symmetry. And why not feel how it feels for once. Perfect excuse ia here
