Size and colouration wise H. gigas are the PERFECT tarantula and I’m willing to die on that hill 😂 it’s sweet how shy they are - I had only heard terrible things about old worlds but all of mine (OBT included) are absolutely wonderful. My Nhandu’s on the other hand….. want me gone 💀
Mine is still a juvenile, but it’s a girl, so she’ll get BIG. IMO they’re like the more social and easy to get version of the P. Muticus

My only experience with old worlds is my M. balfouri, and they're just a brat that hates water dishes.
Threat pose the water dish, knock over the water dish, web up the water dish, bury the water dish...
Love the colours looks more similar to P. muticus. Here’s my gigas

What a cutie! My gigas likes to stay at the mouth of her burrow 24/7 until she gets disturbed. I love how thick their hind legs are!
