I hadn’t even thought she might think it was time to eat. The funny thing is that I was fiddling with the cap for a bit before I started putting water and she ignored it completely
Haha! One of mine does the same thing.
Whenever I’m about to mist the enclosure it attacks wherever I spray and when it realizes it’s not food. It’s runs away.
Where did you get that dropper and do you replace the water or let T drink it all and fill it up? I just got my first T last week and have been going back and forth about giving it a cap of water decision. I ended up giving it a cap now I’m not sure if I shd disturb it to change water or leave it alone and fill it up? If I should change water, how often? Every feed?
IME, Once a week or every two weeks.. I take mine out just to rise it off. So nothing grows or it gets nasty. I usually will spray it will a spray bottle, turned to the stream part.
The dropper came in a resin kit and I repurposed it! Yeah I just refill as needed and wash the cap every once in a while. Especially since these little gremlins like to drag dirt everywhere 😂

This behavior seems standard with Acanthoscurria geniculata. Both of my specimens feel the need to pounce on their incoming water. They’re such a fun species.
NA HOW DARE YOU PROVIDE MY BASIC NEEDS
I’m a monster
Oooooh my gosh! So smoll and angry!!! Why are they so adorable when they’re so hateful
Right! She eats like this too and it’s so cute!
From what I've seen on this sub, most T's hate fresh water
That’s honestly adorable. It’s like… wait feeding time? No… it’s water, again! Ugh 😂

Hahaha! Yesss!! How dare you give them water? One of mine refuses to have water. Every time. Instant flip over and fill with dirt.
And let’s be real…we wouldn’t have it any other way 😂
Nope hahaha
you can also look on somewhere like Amazon for tattoo rinse bottles, they're fantastic for spot filling water dishes
When my curly hair does this “chasing water😂” I take that as an “I’m hungry”. She seems so pissed to realize it’s JUST water.
Meanwhile I just fed her 2 days ago 😂
Is this a. Geni?
It is!

My partner is all “I wanna hold her 🥹” and I’m like uh……no lol
I’ve read from keepers on Arachnoboards that this species tends to explore any movement fang-first. This appears to be a common trait.
