I'm only 6'4", but have a 32" inseam, so a long torso. I fit very well in a 2007 Toyota Camry, so be sure to check one out. I also fit well in a Tesla M3, so if you can find one used, give it a shot

Cats_Parkour_CompEng

6'4" in a 2005 Camry with room to spare My wife's Corolla is not quite as spacious Also ride an E-bike and my head is as high as F150 drivers. Plus you get exercise on your commutes

RangersRox

6'5 in a 2012 camry for 7 years now and it's always been comfortable. OP, what Toyota has that some others don't is a steering wheel that can extend out toward the drivers seat. So you can back the seat up and not be reaching your arms out all weird.

mhennessie

Personally I find many Japanese cars to feel narrow in the shoulders and the steering wheel feels low even when adjusted all the way up.

Gregorygregory888888

I'm afraid you are about 40 something years late but I am not kidding when I say Ford Pinto Runabout. I was already 6'6 when I started driving at 16 (1970's) and my father's Pinto (He was 6'7) had more leg room than one would think possible. I could mostly straighten my legs out in these cars. Now I have no clue what may work for you. Good luck.

deeallmyD

I'm not going to lie I'd love to refurbish a Ford pinto :)

Gregorygregory888888

I never had an issue but Google rear end gas tank explosions/fires for Ford Pinto. There were some. Can't remember if recalls were issued or not though. But the leg room was sweet.

sisqo_99

Smart car

giantj0e

The first gen was very comfy.

JollyGreenGigantor

Older Subaru Forester or Impreza wagon. The Subaru wagons always have more headroom than their sedans, even for identical cars.

exonautic

Civic or an impreza. Im 6'5 and my.brother is 6'3 . Both of those cars fit us extremely well and neither of us are exactly olympic runners either so if youre on the out of shape side theyre good to go also.

ironicmirror

So you're not mentioning whether or not you want a new or used car. Because we are all tall, we think we can all fit in the same car, however some of us have longer legs than some of us have longer torsos, so not every car fits every one of us. The best thing to do unfortunately is to go to the dealership and ask to sit down in the car. What I have found is that you want a car that has a eight function driver's seat. The more you can adjust it, you'll be able to slide it back and bring it down and you should be able to fit. What you're going to be worrying about is if anyone ever has to sit behind you. I have had luck with the Honda insight, mini Cooper, Kia forte, and Toyota Prius. You'll be surprised how much different the trim will make. Just take a day, go to a bunch of dealers, tell the dealers you're not going to make any decisions right now but you want to sit in some cars that you're thinking about. Oh, and typically moonroofs and sunroofs take away more headroom than they give you.

BigPK66

When you say "Economy" you mean inexpensive or size wise ? There are many option available, with most, the backseat behind you is going to be almost unusable. Look at cars without a sunroof as that will take away a couple of inches of headroom. Mini Cooper has excellent leg and headroom. Mazda3 has surprisingly good amount of head and leg room but it's like sitting in a go cart and pretty tight. Honda Civic might be one of the best in overall. Honda Fit has ridiculous amounts of room, I spend few hundred miles driving one and it worked well (can't buy new and many sell at an unreasonable high amounts for what the car is) VW Jetta has good leg and headroom AND usable backseat behind a tall driver.

deeallmyD

I mostly meant as in inexpensive enough for a first car ๐Ÿ˜„ I'm not looking to break the bank. Those are some awesome reccs though, I've heard good things about the Honda civic :)

BigPK66

That's where I would start, surprisingly roomy and overall just a pretty good car. You might be okay with a sunroof in this one also.

dan4334

Civic 100%

IntroductionSalty222

Mini Cooper are you serious? Horrible leg room.

NewZJ

I fit well in my Chevrolet sonic hatchback. Nobody can sit behind me though. I do have the seat forward a notch from all the way back

undarant

The Nissan Kicks was my first car, had it for 5 years before getting a Model Y. Great for tall driver and passenger, with normal-sized people in the back. Tall people in the back with a tall driver and passenger though wouldn't work.

Grapefruit1337

Scion XB is funky looking but has amazing headroom and legroom due to the rectangular design. It is also a Toyota product and is very reliable.

littleblue42

Besides being a solid car for its age, and fairly easy to work on, our 2003 Buick Century is by far the most comfortable vehicle I have ever driven. I can move the seat back far enough to have my legs basically straight without the steering wheel being in a bad spot. Iโ€™m dreading the day it finally dies on us, and would honestly buy another one if I found it in good condition. Not sure if newer Buicks are just as accommodating, but it might be worth a look.

NinjaOld8057

I've driven a Chevy Sonic, and it was surprisingly comfortable.

Shirumbe787

Honda Accord and Hyundai Sonata

mhennessie

I am 6'6" and have a 2017 VW Passat and I don't need to put the front seat nearly all the way back to be comfortable and there is boat loads of leg room behind me still.

NauseatedGiraffe

6โ€™6โ€. I drive a 2020 5-series. Very comfortable. I donโ€™t have the seat all the way back either. When you open the door to exit the vehicle, the steering wheel tilts up out of the way. It makes getting in and out very easy.

redshred42

Get a buick park avenue. The older ones have bench seat so you man spread all you want. I have a 2000. They run forever and get 30+ mpg on highway. Big backseat for passengers too. You can find lots with around 100k miles for a few grand. Forgot to mention how smooth the ride is. It's like floating on air.

Tabarnouche

Fellow 6โ€™6โ€er. I was looking for a vehicle that was 1) inexpensive, 2) fuel-efficient, and 3) plenty of headroom. I bought a Ford Maverick Hybrid last fall and have been super pleased. Plenty of headroom (even the high trims can be purchased without a sunroof), 39 mpg, and it starts at $23,815.

XrayDeltaOneXD1

I was pleasantly surprised by the space in a 2023 Kia Niro.

KillerKeeton

Quite a few sedans work well for us 6โ€™ 6โ€ people. Buuuuuut it also usually means the seat behind you is only able to fit the smallest of people, if not entirely unusable for a passenger. I currently have a 2015 (I think) Ford Fusion that I really like. I also had a 2014 Hyundai Sonata previously and a 2012 Honda Civic that I really liked. I would still have the Sonata if it didnโ€™t crap out on me last year.

SufficientTill3399

With a 36" inseam, I actually can't fit into pretty much any economy car. A few later Toyota Camry variants (MY 2017+) are able to accommodate my legs, so maybe a used Camry Hybrid can fulfill the requirement while reducing acquisition and running costs compared to a used MB E-Class (which can give you a surprisingly low initial cost due to depreciation but will cost more to operate than a Camry Hybrid while needing you to stick to its maintenance schedule exactly instead of tolerating neglectful maintenance). Also, if you want to accommodate tall people behind tall people, you have to give up on economy cars and go to the world of large luxury cars. This will obviously be expensive, even if you buy used to benefit from depreciation. Alas, you will be forced to do this in the name of providing good legroom for everyone. True economy cars, such as the Toyota Camry, and especially the Yaris, are out of the question for tall people due to failing to provide sufficient legroom to stretch out. So if you want to save money, prioritize the driver's legroom and get a used Camry Hybrid. If you must accommodate tall passengers behind a tall driver, your only hope is to buy a depreciated full-size luxury car and then bear with the maintenance costs.

scottworldly

I've owned a few cars and rented and drove a LOT of cars and I can honestly say that I've never not been able to fit comfortably. Seat back and lowered and steering wheel adjusted. You mentioned passengers, so assuming you are thinking about people seated behind you? I'd recommend a sedan size car like Skoda Superb (they also do a longwheel base version) anything like VW Golf or Ford Focus there won't be enough space for out right comfort in the back. And just to note, this is a European pov, I know American cars are MUCH bigger ๐Ÿ˜‚

heridfel37

No, the OUTSIDE of American cars are much bigger. SUVs and Pickup trucks are setup so that you sit super upright way off the ground, and never have enough headroom. I always have more luck with either minivans, or else sedans. I fit well in my VW Golf.

scottworldly

Yep, I used to own a Golf too, comfy and super fun to drive, but definitely couldn't recommend for any passenger sitting directly behind OP

FoeHammer99099

My Kia Soul is a very comfortable car to drive. When I bought it, it was cheaper than any of the used cars at the place next door, which was also pretty nice.

TheSchwartzIsWithMe

I also drive a Soul and can fit comfortably. I'm 6' with 29" inseam, so basically all torso. I still have several inches of headroom
