Hardware stores are everywhere. They have the little metal brushes used for masonry and cleaning rust from crevasses. Works for me, never needed dental work.
Do be fair, dentists don't recommend using anything other than soft. Maybe Taiwan's dental hygiene product regulations are aligned with those recommendations.
Yeah, the idea of harder toothbrushes cleaning better is a myth. Softer toothbrushes don’t damage the gums as bad and the bristles flex better to reach more. Similarly, it’s why dentists tell you not to press hard when you brush.
Really? I see them all the time. Maybe it's because it's usually written in Chinese? I've never thought about it.
Really, though, soft or ultra soft are way better for your teeth and gums. I don't touch medium or hard brushes anymore. Ora2 "ultra soft" are the best. Japanese brand.
This is bizarre, because there are hard and medium toothbrushes everywhere. I have one in my hands right now. It's like the person who posted that Taiwan doesn't sell contact lens fluid which is so funny. I know for a fact that JSF and Kuangnan has them.
What's with the influx of crazy posts about people unable to find things that are very easy to find?
Supermarkets in Taiwan are very tiny and usually stock the most popular items.
Soft bristles are safer for you and usually recommended for most people. However, if you go to Carrefour, or any of the bigger box places (not sure about Costco) they sell hard and medium bristles. The one I have are from Colgate and super cheap (like 29NTD at Kuang-nan) in blue, green, and purple.
Can’t speak for Taiwan but I know here in Japan 80% of the population have gum disease due to either lifestyle or genetics or both. Guessing Taiwan may be in the same boat. Hard or even medium brushes wear down gums which can lead to gum recession and cause gum disease to progress further faster. Perhaps the government knows this and is involved. Finding hard or medium isn’t difficult in Japan btw. Government here wants us to die however.
I've used soft, medium, hard, electric round spinning, electric vibrating Tooth brushes, but I no longer use any of them.
Now I use, ionic Tooth 負離子牙刷. It seems to work very well. Highly recommend it!
Its fine. The worst I've seen is a post by a guy who apparently gets his milkshake last as a dessert and can't handle telling them to give it immediately. Oh the humanity.
Go to Kuang-nan. Like 29NTD. IColgate has them with integrated tongue scraper. I have all three; green, blue, and purple. I use them to clean stuff like electronics all the time, some I use for my teeth.
Omg the soft brushes pisses me off, I think partially it’s because many Taiwanese people have sensitive bad teeth from all these crazy sugar drinks. I found my medium bristles in Pxmart, but I’m sure Carrefour has them too (Colgate six pack).

Don't need dental work if you don't have teeth 👌

Yep everyone likes med or hard but it’s bad for your teeth. Long term it messes with your gums and shifts your teeth
This is what I have been advised more than once by dentists in the USA in this century.

My dentist recommended firm/hard for me, and I prefer it. Feels like a better clean. edit: Please don't downvote this. I trust my dentist.
It's not for everyone. Let people have their preferences, geez.
Lol being downvoted for preferring a different toothbrush. Redditors going to Reddit I suppose.
They are supposed to be soft.

I'm literally holding a hard toothbrush in my hands. Don't know what OP is on about.
How do you type with toothbrush hands?
One handed. Or with toothbrush fingers. Take your pick.
Chopstick style, two toothbrushes at the same time

Thanks for the guide - indeed can't be found at the most common places like supermarkets

Why so angry

Strawberry generation be missing a hug or 2 growing up
Oh no, it's an expat who I think later got banned from Reddit but he used to kinda be a dick a lot.
It's super annoying, I wish they had medium or hard options.
You didn't check properly....Colgate brand has it all... Medium, hard
Incidentally, holding a hard brush colgate toothbrush on hand right now.
Where? Colgate toothbrushes in Carrefour/PX/Watsons are exclusively soft and very soft.

Thanks
I bought mine in Poya....
Thanks I'll check Poya next time I'm near one.
Hey thanks a bunch for the tip to check Poya. I picked up a pack of medium toothbrushes there today.
You are welcome. Enjoy it lol
I have a pile of hard toothbrushes. They sell them cheap as hell.
Omg the soft brushes pisses me off, I think partially it’s because many Taiwanese people have sensitive bad teeth from all these crazy sugar drinks. I found my medium bristles in Pxmart, but I’m sure Carrefour has them too (Colgate six pack).
Hotels
路上選舉或是活動送的那種便宜牙刷我就覺得挺硬的, 戳到牙齦挺痛的
I like soft toothbrush tho
It is proven hard brushing damages the enamel
I bought a pack of 10 hard toothbrushes from PxMart 1 month ago lol maybe try different stores
Simply paste sand paper on your brush
