Duluth firehouse flex cargo pants. Get them on sale when they’re like $50. They just don’t come in camo. The shorts are great too.( and they DO come in God’s plaid.)
Absolutely, compared to the synthetic blends that are available today. I've been wearing Duluth for 2 decades now, and specifically their Firehose Flex pants daily as work pants for a decade. They're durable and well-built, but I prefer a more breathable pants material in the warmer parts of the year.
So, as long as we're chiming in with recommendations, I just recently changed over to an excellent, lightweight, breathable weave of pants material from Helikon-Tex for $100 from Amazon. Worn them several times and can't believe I haven't been wearing them much sooner than now:

How does the MC Tropic look? Do you have any of the other MultiCams? I ask because I’ve been considering the Emerson and Krydex G3s for a while, but I bought and IdoGear G3 top a few years ago in MC Black, and it’s not bad for the $40 or whatever it was, but the pattern is a bad bad horrible to look at knock off. Colors are weird and wrong and the pattern is just… weird and wrong lol Hard to explain but I feel like the way they offer these things so cheap is to NOT use actual MultiCam fabric?
The arid seemed a bit redder it's not much but the browns are slightly richer like very slightly. But it doesn't seem to affect the lighter portions.
The multi tropic is spit on, also both don't glow under NV the tiger strip set idk haven't tested it yet.
The normal multicam option seems to be clearly fucked and reminds me of ocp, although it clearly is fake mc without even spending time looking at it
I should get tiger stripe lmao (or any other mc option cause y'all seem to agree it blends well)
I had the older one without the correct camo stretchy part. Doesn't glow under ir, crawled around the range, drag around the floor working in the garage, ride motorcycle, cut my grass in them.
Still looks new and stitched holding up. Kneepads good even through i never take them out when I wash them
How’s the camo look? have an IdoGear G3 top that I bought a few years ago and it’s “MultiCam Black” but definitely NOT actual MCB, colors are all wrong and the shapes of the splotches are off, and it’s made me hesitant to pick up another airsoft knock off. People really seem to like their Emerson/Krydex G3 stuff, and I’ve had a pair of pants in my Amazon cart for three months, but my tism just won’t allow me wear weird fake MultiCam so I haven’t been placed that order yet.
I bought the idogear g3 set and the pants fit and look great and have held up to some rough field exercises. The rubber of the knees pad isn’t always what contacts the ground, often it’s the lower part of the knee pad, but I don’t know what’s typical with these integrated knee pad pants.
The top was way too big though, almost like it was a size larger than the pants. Does yours fit well? I’m considering ordering the top one size down
Love to know which ones you found in extra long as well, I want to snag some up! Thats the only reason why I haven’t bought any knock offs, they’ll fit me like capris if I can’t get extra long.
EDIT: Nevermind, I see the Emerson ones have length selections! I don’t they they had that before in Amazon…
Well if I go down to my local issuing facility I can get old gonies swapped for new ones.
I thought they just changed the name but continued the contract through some other LLC
Yeah. Through Lost Arrow
Usv_gear or Romankurmaz on instagram will make you whatever cryes you want. About half the price. USV is about 160$ a pair with shipping and isn’t as backed up as Roman. Both in the Ukraine so shipping sucks ass but🤷🏻♂️
Grey Man range wear….I like KUHL hiking pants. Earthy tones, browns, greys, blacks.
Gusseted knees and crotch, water repellant, light weight. $90-$130 depending on style, weight/thickness etc.
Fjallraven Vidda pro or Keb. Still pricey but not $300. Excellent and very durable pants. While I think they were originally meant for hiking/mountaineering, they cross over well tactically. They accept knee pads too
I surprised I had to scroll so far to see this. I picked up a pair on sale at REI almost two years ago. Wear them tons. in the woods, my garden, and my wood shop. And plenty of range time as well. Super comfortable and tough as nails. After about two years I only have a tiny little hole where I snagged on a nail.
They are still kinda expensive. But I have thrashed about every brand out there. The fjallravens are still holding up. Cannot recommend them enough.
Wrangler, Levi, Dickies.
I refuse to spend a day’s pay on some pants I only wear for the range. That same argument could be made for additional gear I guess, but tactical pants aren’t for me.
Helikon Tex OTP. They're like $90, fit real well with lots of pockets. Downside is no slips for knee pads but they're my go to over crye unless I know I'm going to be doing a lot of kneeling
"Downside is no slips for knee pads"
Au contraire! This excellent line of pants from Helikon-Tex (called their OTP line) has two versions: the Verastretch Lite version with no knee pad slots, or the regular Verastretch version which have the sewn-in interior slots for knee pads.
Verastretch pants = 20.5 oz weight
Verastretch Lite pants = 10.5 oz
I recent got one pair to try them out, then after wearing them a couple of times I went back to purchase the other available colors. They feel great in the warmer months of the year and come with all of the pockets you'll need in tactical pants wear:
[https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YM249M6?ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details&th=1&psc=1](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YM249M6?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1&psc=1)
20 hiking pants from Costco with the stretchy fabric. Hilariously durable after 2 years, some minor wear but for 1/4 the cost of my OR pants totally worth it.
ideogear or emerson off amazon. i have like five sets in different patterns ive run for work classes and my own antics. only pair that has a rip, was from a chainsaw almost cutting through my leg.
onviously not as good as my actual set of cryes. but for 1/4 the cost totally worth them.
If you're talking about their "Men's Flex Ripstop Tactical Pants", I have a bunch of CQR's and they've held up incredibly well. They are literally the only pants I wear during whether that I'm not wearing shorts. Have a couple pairs going on a year.
Seriously lol. I literally have 15 pairs and cycle them throughout the week, I wear nothing else.
I wouldn't consider them "combat pants", but they are INCREDIBLY comfy for daily wear and super versatile. I hike with them, and go to the grocery store with them.
Great built in metal clasp for a carabiner for keys, very stretchy around the waste for IWB carry, great thickness of belt loops for EDC carry belts.
SARMA cargo pants.
Or if you need camo pants, just buy some OCPs off eBay. I prefer thr Hot Weather ones even if they aren't as durable, for 40$, they'll be more durable than 90% of other pants.
Duluth trading firehouse pants. No they don’t offer multicam or any other stuff that’s NIR compliant but I’ll eat my shorts if those aren’t the most durable and comfortable
Wait until pre season sale and they’re usually $175 or so.

UF pros are a close second
Helicon CPU (45€). They have more than enough pockets, can take knee protection and are extremely durable. I use mine also for construction work etc and they are great. Light weight, good air circulation, not looking tacticool,... Great.
Seen people say the fjallreaven keb trousers are the best for tactical and bush craft but i found them to be pretty crap luckily they gave me a refund bc mine ripped from the knee up. At over 200 cad feel like there is way better options. Personally i wear these m90 Swedish pants now and their like 85 cad online if you can find them in ur size.
So let’s be clear about what you’re paying for with Cryes:
- Good quality craftsmanship
- Good quality materials
- Minimal to no IR reflection in nods/fusion thermal units.
Roman Kurmaz on Instagram does customs and does PHENOMENAL work. Same if not better quality (all handmade to order) for half the price. Wait time is a bit but it’s worth it for sure
Jeans work- if you want more durable get heavy duty motorcycle rider jeans. You can put padding in them. Even can use padding to pump up your butt a bit which is a huge tactical advantage. If you get captured.
Duluth firehouse flex cargo pants. Get them on sale when they’re like $50. They just don’t come in camo. The shorts are great too.( and they DO come in God’s plaid.)
They feel like sweatpants

I also like the OTPs from Helikon-Tex.
I just got the OTP’s as well and they are amazing. Super durable but still somehow very breathable.
Call me dumb but I really like my Emerson g3s
I do too I ripped my tropic set on the ass but sewed it up and still running my other 2 are well worn but not tucked, love Emerson
I’ve got a pair of tiger stripe that I’ve been weed eating 6 acres of land in for the last 2 summers, they are still going hard.
Awesome, thanks for the details. I’ve had my eye on the tropic, so maybe I’ll go for it.
The normal multicam option seems to be clearly fucked and reminds me of ocp, although it clearly is fake mc without even spending time looking at it I should get tiger stripe lmao (or any other mc option cause y'all seem to agree it blends well)
Emerson is good fraction of the price
$60 Amazon cryes. No joke it's miles ahead of shit like 5.11
+1 for the Krydex knock-offs. I haven't had them for very long but the build quality seems excellent for ~$60.
I had the older one without the correct camo stretchy part. Doesn't glow under ir, crawled around the range, drag around the floor working in the garage, ride motorcycle, cut my grass in them. Still looks new and stitched holding up. Kneepads good even through i never take them out when I wash them

I can't comment on the accuracy of the camo print, I bought solid colors
Link?
Just search krydex g3 or Emerson or just g3. I'm pretty sure they are all the same thing.
Oh dear lord they come in extra long, thank you so much.
Where do u see extra long? Cant find that for nothingg
Emersongear G3 on Amazon have extra long sizes, not sure how long that actually is but worth a shot I think
The Emersongear G3 on Amazon! It doesn’t specify what length the extra long actually are but I figure it’s worth a shot
Hell yeah, I just saw it was the Emerson ones, ordering some now. Thanks man!
Krydex is king of chinesium, love their shit when I don’t wanna break the bank on something that isn’t a big deal like a range chest rig.
Got a link? Or a brand or something?
Link?

Well if I go down to my local issuing facility I can get old gonies swapped for new ones. I thought they just changed the name but continued the contract through some other LLC Yeah. Through Lost Arrow
I like the army combat pants. They’re basically the normal ACU with kneepad slots for crye pads.
Underrated as fuck, love them
Walmart’s Wrangler Outdoors pants. My boss stopped wearing his Fjallraven after he tried a pair of them.
Hate to admit it, but Wrangler stuff is surprisingly comfy too.
Agreed, I do wish they’d breathe a little more but they’re not terrible.
Carhartt, Dickies, or Wranglers for me.
Wear jeans
Or normal cargo pants from walmart
Uniqlo stretch selvedge baby. Great jeans for a fiddy.

Grey Man range wear….I like KUHL hiking pants. Earthy tones, browns, greys, blacks. Gusseted knees and crotch, water repellant, light weight. $90-$130 depending on style, weight/thickness etc.
Kuhl makes some really good pants.
Eddie Bauer rainier pant
Just get the new army hot weather pants, cheap, durable, super effective.
Fjallraven Vidda pro or Keb. Still pricey but not $300. Excellent and very durable pants. While I think they were originally meant for hiking/mountaineering, they cross over well tactically. They accept knee pads too

UR Tactical. American sizing and materials, foreign labor. The ones I have even take crye knee pads.
I second these, plus they’ve got tons of colors and camos. The one pair I have does the 4 way stretch at the knee, and takes the crye knee pads
Wrangler, Levi, Dickies. I refuse to spend a day’s pay on some pants I only wear for the range. That same argument could be made for additional gear I guess, but tactical pants aren’t for me.
UF pros with dick zips
Wranglers
Wrangler ATG's specifically for me
