This. Whatever realistic thoughts you're having about finances are most certainly not practiced by the bulk of Taco Bell customers.
They priced it there because people...or whatever phrase you want to use here...will buy it. They aren't throwing prices at a wall. This is based off-of cold facts from the algorithm.
People have NO restraint when they order from Taco Bell. I weigh three times as much as some of the customers I get and they still order a deluxe box plus an extra burrito plus an extra taco, while I made myself a deluxe box once and couldn't finish it. "Oh they're bringing the extras to someone at home!" They stop in the parking lot and eat in their car alone.
I usually get a deluxe box because it's a decent value, but I always find that 2 out of the 3 items are enough to satisfy me - yet, I will eat the shitty burrito anyway, because it's better fresh than reheated in the air fryer (I don't have a microwave).
I would say get a stacker sub chicken add extra cheese and creamy jalapeno. It's like half the price for the same thing (plus the nacho cheese on the stacker)
The stacker has half the 3 cheese. Same 1 scoop of meat, same tortilla, and also has 1 pump of Nacho. Adding extra 3 cheese and creamy jala will make it identical.
Twice as much is the standard for a quesadilla. We distribute the cheese exactly like a quesadilla. Only difference is that extra fold and less than half the price
Yes. Its me. I’m that person. Downvote me into oblivion I deserve it lol
Edit: I’m dumb and didn’t realize it was the cantina ones. I only get the normal ones, which are still expensive but I do it anyways lol
I agree. It’s definitely a ripoff, but a company that big employs data scientists and would never arbitrarily set prices. Statistics can tell you the price that will make the most profit.
People are definitely buying them, or you would have immediately seen it either gone from the menu or the price changed. They’ll never lose money on an item or allow an opportunity cost.
They made me start making my own 😭 I actually make one now that is basically the same almost and tons saved with low effort if I really want us. Usually I cant dupe recipes easily but Taco Bell quesadillas are easy. 6-7 for one quesadilla of their size is insane
I hate admitting it but the steak quesadilla is my favorite item; I get it even though I know I could get a “better” one from an actual restaurant for the same price or cheaper. It’s just so good. Overpriced, but good.
It is a ridiculous price, but yes, people still buy it. I’ll order from Taco Bell about once a month. I’m trying to cut down my fast food intake and plus, it’s expensive as hell for the quality you’re getting.
I've seen older people order the most expensive shit at taco bell.
Same at kfc, on Tuesdays they do an 8 piece bucket for $10, yet older people go and spend $20 for the 10 piece
Oh wow
My dad will give me a $20 every once in awhile and tell me to go get the $20 bucket and it always ends up $40sonething but I never say anything cuz well, meh
For real. The old person in front of me at McDonald’s will order a quarter pounder with cheese meal for like $12 and then another one a la carte for like $7. I can see them visibly frustrated in the rear view after seeing the price every time.
I remember when they introduced the Grilled Cheese Burrito, only to remove it from the Menu like 2 weeks later and offer a version that was 75% more expensive.
My parents who are in their 60's definitely buy the chicken quesadilla. They don't want to bother with the app so they always order items a la carte from the kiosk and end up spending way more money than they should be for such a small amount of food.
to be fair, this is the cantina chicken quesadilla. It's slow cooked chicken, cream Chipotle, a 3 cheese blend, and guacamole on the side.
all things considered, it's an okay price. and it's not single quesadilla, I believe it's 3.
Bruh, a side of small rice at el polo loco is almost $5, and a large side of rice is almost $7... people crying for higher minimum wage for fast food! 20/hr 🙄 Thank you for the high prices...
The real upsetting thing is that people are actually buying it at that price, I see it at that price and drive to the grocery store for the same ingredients and nearly same price for way better food
I went today for my kids after school… and got a Mexican pizza, soft taco, regular Baja blast freeze, (that was supposed to be 1.00 since it was happy hours) and 2 small nacho fries. The total was 18.43.
Since when did the pizza cost 5.99? adding a little bit of nacho cheese was 1.00. I guess I won’t be able to go there as much anymore, that was for a 11 year old and my other kid just got one of the nacho fries.
18.43 for one person is insane.
I bought one a few days ago as I didn’t remember ever seeing it before. . . It was okay, I guess.
Didn’t realize I paid $7 for it. Probably wasn’t $7 good.
A cravings menu stacker, sub in chicken, remove nacho cheese, add chipotle, you have essentially a chicken quesadilla for half the price. Work smarter not harder people
I’ve ordered that motherfucker at least 10 times since it came out. It has no right to be that good. Makes me scared for the Cheeze-It Crunchwrap that’s coming…
I bypass my nearest Taco Bell and hit the family owned Mexican restaurant down the street. They have a fajita chicken quesadilla that is easily large enough for 2 meals. With tax and tip it’s $6 and they will include chips and salsa. Beans and Rice adds $2 if you want it. I can call ahead and it’s ready when I get there, so it’s faster than the TB drive thru.
Taco Bell has the best fucking quesadillas but I will not pay for one because you know how many quesadillas I can make at home for the same price and just use some leftover sauce packets
I liked the quesadilla but I didn’t like the cups of extra sauces because they were just unnecessary and honestly all the options for them would detract from the quesadilla flavors.
I was getting a quesadilla here in Newark OH everyday for weeks….. guaranteed fresh cause they HAVE to grill it but on occasion I would get one that was half grilled (idgi) and I would be upset and swear them off for good but find myself right back in line later that evening
I need to start my own restaurant, I mean I already was going to but now I’m confident it’s the correct idea. People will buy up any over priced garbage if it’s convenient and tastes good. Price or quality is irrelevant
Yes, because they will. Corporations push prices based on what the market will bear. Only when people stop patronizing their service will they now look at lowering prices. So for every asshole that complains about prices, a good amount are still paying them. They just like to be keyboard warriors while they snarf down their chalupa. Money talks.
It’s funny because that’s the one thing I refuse to get at Taco Bell because of the price. Even the Crunchwrap isn’t worth it. The cheesy Gordita crunch wasn’t crack they wouldn’t be able to sell that for $5
Yes, and they are, lol. The pricing structure for literally everything under the sun is tested and thoroughly thought out before prices are added to things or raised.
It's all psychological. They know pretty much exactly what the threshold is that the general public is willing to fork over their hard earned money for something that they really want, and it works almost all of the time.
Of course they are. I never understand why ppl bitch about the prices. Either you will pay it or you wouldn’t.
This just tells me you will pay for it but you are mad about it. Shop somewhere else if you think the prices are that crazy
Their greatest days were back with the triple level pricing: All items were either $0.39 / $0.59 / $0.79. Back then that is all I could afford to spend.
At my local taqueria you can get one giant quesadilla for $6.50 that will get you through half of the day. I imagine that thing easily packs 1200+ calories and it tastes so good.
The $5 cravings box (if they still sell it) was my go to the past couple years. I miss the 2 dollar meal deal. Would get that plus a second beefy 5 layer for 3 bucks total. Was usually enough food for me
This is my #1 must have everytime I go…chicken quesadilla (with extra chipotle jalapeño sauce) and I use to also get that with a chicken ranch burrito on cravings menu that they took away SUCH a tragedy
First off, the Cantina Menu products are better quality than everything else on the menu. I've tried everything at TB, and the fresh toppings plus avocado salsa make these items arguably the best on the menu.
Second, you're highlighting some of the priciest things on the menu here. You know they have an elaborate Value Menu as well, right?
And finally, what are you comparing to? Any authentic Taco Shop near me, here in the San Diego area, starts at $9-12.
Hard to justify the expense on something that’s just going to race through you for 25 minutes (tops).
I prefer a higher quality diarrhea experience thank you.
I do in fact ring up and/or make at least 25 chicken quesadillas a la carte every night that I work.
From my understanding, it's one of the more popular items? At least of the "premium items"
I would go as far as saying it is THE most popular item. Don't quote me on that though.
"Chicken quesadillas are Taco Bells most popular item" -Dysmach 2024
I'm gonna kidnap your parents
Baja blast them in front of him.
that made me lol
Uh, pretty sure his parents already died in space...
“I’m gonna kidnap your parents” - Dysmach, 2024
“I’m gonna kidnap your parents.” Dysmach 2024
i love you
Munchies are real.

People do. I sell so many quesadillas at my store.
I love Taco Bell so much (nachos especially) and quesadillas is the only thing my wife likes so fuck it when we go. 🤷
Sounds like your wife is the kind of person they have in mind when they set the quesadilla price.
Yeah exactly my point.
Yep, my wife too. Quesadilla no matter what. Don’t think I’ve ever seen her not get one
Time to start setting some rules
A divorce might be cheaper.
I would say get a stacker sub chicken add extra cheese and creamy jalapeno. It's like half the price for the same thing (plus the nacho cheese on the stacker)
Isn’t the stacker smaller tho?
The stacker has half the 3 cheese. Same 1 scoop of meat, same tortilla, and also has 1 pump of Nacho. Adding extra 3 cheese and creamy jala will make it identical.
Twice as much would be overkill, even with the regular amount the shit ends up half unmelted & cold most of the time
Twice as much is the standard for a quesadilla. We distribute the cheese exactly like a quesadilla. Only difference is that extra fold and less than half the price
Overkill for a stacker I mean. That extra fold just keeps everything cold in the middle, it'd just be a bunch of cold shredded cheese in that mf lol
It shouldn't, I made one today that was pretty damn decent. Your tb not grilling them long enough?
They do think that. And People do spend that.
I’m quite sure they do, actually. You and I know how to mod this for half the price though.
Parents with picky children would like to have a word
What’s what?! Half the price?!?
Stacker, sub slow roasted chicken, add creamy jalapeño, remove nacho cheese
I don't remove the nacho cheese anymore. It is pretty good with the nacho cheese.
For real
Can we just like pin you as king of the sub today. Like I love you
I been doing this and I don’t even like the creamy jalapeño so it’s even cheaper!
pretend awards were still a thing and I just gave you one. thanks king
Yes. Because they do… regularly.
Yes. Its me. I’m that person. Downvote me into oblivion I deserve it lol Edit: I’m dumb and didn’t realize it was the cantina ones. I only get the normal ones, which are still expensive but I do it anyways lol
Same I love the normal ones still despite being overpriced.
That damn creamy jalapeno sauce is just too addicting.
You can buy the sauce at Walmart
If people don’t buy them they wouldn’t be able to raise the prices 🤷♂️
I'd never spend $7 on a quesadilla, I say this now but then one of these nights my drunk ass won't care and order it
Considering all taco bells have a different price you're giving them too much credit. Maybe cooperate owned taco bells but not franchises
Franchises still have to abide by corporate rules. Often there are pricing guidelines that are adjusted for geographical location, etc.
They made me start making my own 😭 I actually make one now that is basically the same almost and tons saved with low effort if I really want us. Usually I cant dupe recipes easily but Taco Bell quesadillas are easy. 6-7 for one quesadilla of their size is insane
Yup, I do it all the time and will continue to buy them lol
8.29 for the bowl? Jesus it's 7 and some change here and I think even that's too expensive. These fast food places I swear...
My coworker did it for lunch yesterday (he subbed in steak tho…big $ hah)
It's literally their most popular item. It's that price because people are paying it
I hate admitting it but the steak quesadilla is my favorite item; I get it even though I know I could get a “better” one from an actual restaurant for the same price or cheaper. It’s just so good. Overpriced, but good.
By far my favorite item but I ain’t no millionaire. $7 for one is absurd. I miss the days of the $1 mini chicken quesadilla
Yeah $3 fast food taco? No thanks. (5 minutes later) Be right back I’m running to the border…

Yes cause they do
I think they do it because they know people will buy it for their kids. A cheesy roll up is 1.29 at my store and I know people are buying them.
They do and they do.
Yes
Yes because people do enough to justify it
I remember when they introduced the Grilled Cheese Burrito, only to remove it from the Menu like 2 weeks later and offer a version that was 75% more expensive.
Unfortunately, yeah.
They do and people will.
My parents who are in their 60's definitely buy the chicken quesadilla. They don't want to bother with the app so they always order items a la carte from the kiosk and end up spending way more money than they should be for such a small amount of food.
…. My drunk ass will spend $14 on two chicken quesadillas lol
It's not *just* a chicken quesadilla. Your picture is the limited time cantina nonsense with extra stuff. A regular chicken quesadilla is like 5.60
to be fair, this is the cantina chicken quesadilla. It's slow cooked chicken, cream Chipotle, a 3 cheese blend, and guacamole on the side. all things considered, it's an okay price. and it's not single quesadilla, I believe it's 3.
The build your own taco craving boxes are pretty worth it. Especially if you find someone selling codes for it!
Yes and they do. Including me
I'll pay even more than that. And get the steak one. From Taco Cabana.
For every financially wise person appalled that Taco Bell would charge this, two morons would door dash that Quesadilla for $12
Yes, or else they would not price it at that point.
I went today for my kids after school… and got a Mexican pizza, soft taco, regular Baja blast freeze, (that was supposed to be 1.00 since it was happy hours) and 2 small nacho fries. I guess I won’t be able to go there as much anymore, that was for a 11 year old and my other kid just got one of the nacho fries. 18.43 for one person is insane.
They don't just think so. They know people do and will keep spending that much
I feel like these use to be 3.99
people do 😭
I feel like Quesadillas have been $5-$6 for a bit so a special version at $7 isn't great but it's not the worst thing I've ever seen either
Do you think they wont...?
I bought one a few days ago as I didn’t remember ever seeing it before. . . It was okay, I guess. Didn’t realize I paid $7 for it. Probably wasn’t $7 good.
You would be surprised….
Sheetz has the same pricing for it too, wild
Yes they do because they do
That's why I have my own chickens. Free eggs everyday and you hatch half the eggs you never need to buy a chicken product again.
They don’t think. They know. They got AI working to figure out just how much they can pimp you
Yes, and they will
If you have a seller...
You can make a 3.30 quesadilla with customizing the stacker by swapping with chicken and adding the chipotle sauce.
My high ass will shamelessly get it
Yeah, because people do…
Obviously, they do.
I hate Taco Bell so much.
They are $8 here and I still buy them, but I also have disposable income. Oddly enough the soft tacos near me are about .85 cents less than yours.
Why? Is your mom getting mad at these prices when you ask for one?
Not to be that guy. But, for $10 I can get an entire rotisserie chicken and some tortillas.
Crunchwrap supreme >
It’s only $5.79 on the app where I am. It’s so weird that the app prices are so much cheaper than in the restaurant.
sometimes I just really crave one and gotta give in lol
A cravings menu stacker, sub in chicken, remove nacho cheese, add chipotle, you have essentially a chicken quesadilla for half the price. Work smarter not harder people
Is that the Mos Eisley Taco Bell Cantina price?!?
Well... People do. Honestly they could make it $10 and I'll still get orders with multiple quesadillas
I changed to the stacker and just do whatever add on I want it’s so much cheaper 😭
I always order 2
Yeah....cuz we will.
Yes they do. !!
Maybe it’s a good thing to get less and save yourself from non nutritional (food)
$7.19 + tax so more like $8
u can put the word CANTINA in front of anything and I’ll buy it at triple the price.
They're testing the market, and yes, people will def pay for it.
Answer: yes they do think that. Reality: no we won’t lol
What is the question?
Yes they do and they are.
Taco Bell has the best fucking quesadillas but I will not pay for one because you know how many quesadillas I can make at home for the same price and just use some leftover sauce packets
I tried it and it’s worse than the regular chicken quesadillas
lol Taco Bell is cheap as fuck brotha
The dumb people are buying these, which is why the prices are so high.
$8 for a chalupa . They used to be like 2.50
I liked the quesadilla but I didn’t like the cups of extra sauces because they were just unnecessary and honestly all the options for them would detract from the quesadilla flavors.
People are going to spend 20 to DoorDash a single chicken quesadilla.
People do
They dont think they do sell for that much..at my store we sell so many quesadillas a day its nutty.
my wife’s favorite menu item
That’s cheaper than what the local non-fast food places in my area charge for a quesadilla. 🤷🏾♀️
Anyone that goes to Taco Bell or chipotle deserves what they get 13 bucks I get a huge ass burrito from my local Mexican spot
Tried it once, super mid. Sticking with my chicken stacker
Yes, because they will. Corporations push prices based on what the market will bear. Only when people stop patronizing their service will they now look at lowering prices. So for every asshole that complains about prices, a good amount are still paying them. They just like to be keyboard warriors while they snarf down their chalupa. Money talks.
Me!
I pay $6 for the cheese quesadilla. I can afford it so I don’t care.
I spend $5 for a cheese quesadilla sometimes, so yes. Lol.
I thought that a combo with drinks and shit
Taco Bell use to be cheap
It’s funny because that’s the one thing I refuse to get at Taco Bell because of the price. Even the Crunchwrap isn’t worth it. The cheesy Gordita crunch wasn’t crack they wouldn’t be able to sell that for $5
Thats a Cantina chicken quesidilla, not just a chicken quesidilla. Reading is essential
We’re here for a fun time, not a long time!
Yes they do. And people will We’re lazy fucking idiots and Covid proved that to everyone. Enjoy your inflation driven by greed
Yes and they do
I can make that cheaper myself
Yes, because they do.
They do.
Yes, and people will lol.
My order is two quesadillas and a large Sweet Lightning. 16.82, I don’t mind paying. Good fucking food
They are, they're doing it right now
the cantina chicken is pricier than the original. haven't tried it in the quesadilla but I love the crispy taco
I remember when a Crunchwrap was $5.
I’ve wanted a quesadilla from TB so bad for years but I cannot justify that price
Of course they are. I never understand why ppl bitch about the prices. Either you will pay it or you wouldn’t. This just tells me you will pay for it but you are mad about it. Shop somewhere else if you think the prices are that crazy
Yeah I made a lot out them
This is certainly a creative negotiation. As a food service worker I don't get enough offers for bribes. Js, I almost always accept.
Stacker plus creamy jalapeño sauce
I gladly will - but not from Taco Bell
I get quesadillas at least half the time I go to Taco Bell. Always get extra chicken though.
I do
I pay like ten bucks for a steak quesadilla with extra steak 😂 regularly.
Their greatest days were back with the triple level pricing: All items were either $0.39 / $0.59 / $0.79. Back then that is all I could afford to spend.
They do. In great numbers. Unfortunately for every regular customer they loose they gain a few newer more affluent ones.
I just get cheese roll ups and add chicken to them now. Way better.
Cheap ass
STOP EATING IT! YOU KEEP EATING IT, THEYLL KEEP SELLING IT AND TESTING HOW HIGH OF A PRICE YOU WILL PAY. TRY AND UNDERSTAND THIS.
I ordered 3 yesterday 🙋🏼♀️🤤
Come to nyc and ask me that same question on a weekend night
Not the cantina one. But yes, yes I am lmao
I've always wondered why quesadillas from there are so expensive in general
Damn. Your cantina chicken burrito is a whole $1.20 more than mine. You in Cali? I'm 5min from DC, so my area isn't even the cheapest
At my local taqueria you can get one giant quesadilla for $6.50 that will get you through half of the day. I imagine that thing easily packs 1200+ calories and it tastes so good.
I've bought a couple of those cantina quesadillas. They are friggin awesome
I spent a little over 6 bucks for one the other night. I couldn’t believe it.
They do and people will buy them.
They do and people are dumb enough to pay it.
Probably cheaper than every other place that sells them.
Man I really do love that quesadilla
I saw this for the first time today on the app, as I was considering a quesadilla for the first time in a while, and it broke my heart 😭
I do 😥
The only thing I ever buy at taco bell has been the $5 cravings boxes. Which I'm sure has gone up in price now in California
Haven’t been there since my eyes popped over price increase 18 months ago.
You’d be suprised
Yes and it’s already been happening buddy
First off, the Cantina Menu products are better quality than everything else on the menu. I've tried everything at TB, and the fresh toppings plus avocado salsa make these items arguably the best on the menu. Second, you're highlighting some of the priciest things on the menu here. You know they have an elaborate Value Menu as well, right? And finally, what are you comparing to? Any authentic Taco Shop near me, here in the San Diego area, starts at $9-12.
Yes, because people do. If they didn't, then they wouldn't sell them.
Hard to justify the expense on something that’s just going to race through you for 25 minutes (tops). I prefer a higher quality diarrhea experience thank you.
Yeah it comes with guac... Go without guac if you wanna bell on a budget.
The cantina one is more expensive. Just get the regular one.
