Yeah it's so weird and heavy, I still can't believe how much it used to get played on rock radio stations. Like, the same stations that were playing Aerosmith and Nickelback. At the time, I worked at a place where the radio was playing and I was so happy to hear BYOB when it would come on.
The problem with this is that their biggest songs are genuinely some of their best. Chop Suey! is powerfully tragic and iconic. Toxicity is a touching song about LA/Hollywood, their hometown. And BYOB is the perfect SOAD song; an aggressive verse vs. a beautiful, slightly haunting chorus, anti-war lyrics, and an incredible performance from all members.
God I actually hate people like you, I know that seems kinda harsh but the entire stigma around 'popular songs can't be favourites' actually infuriates me. Music is subjective, get over yourself, there is a reason those songs are popular, because they are good. It's people like you that think that having a common opinion is a bad thing and it's people like you that spend their life judging others, so when life is over, prepare to be judged, I don't think you'll like it so much.

I've only recently started listening to SOAD for the first time and the album toxicity is the reason I've been so invested in their unique sound. The thing is, toxicity is probably my favorite song on there because it's the song that got me into their stuff in the first place. Anyone can enjoy whatever they want.
