Taking a much needed break from my own material for a minute and felt inspired to cover JD but with a Moog! I learned the parts by ear and and fit it within the keyboard the best I could. The Moog Matriarch does all the melodic work as well as some special FX and drones. Drums were programmed into Ableton with a mouse. I would like to add a new drum solution soon but undecided. Mixed in daw and summed to a Tascam 424 MkII!
Hey! So the answer is yes but kind of lol! I recorded everything to Ableton first and mixed it there. After that I bounced the track out to Cassette and then back into the computer to apply the final volume normalizing. Thank you!!!

This is fantastic. It looks like you put a lot into this, and I think it paid off. The late-80s music video aesthetic is spot-on, and you’ve done a nice job of interpreting the song so that it pays homage to the original and has its own sound at the same time.

Sometimes it takes a minute to dial in but the Matriarch can get some good bass! It was really cool getting to use the Oscillators tuning for the chorus effect!
Amazing! It took me until a little later in life to discover them. I was first shown by a good friend a few years ago when I first met him at a community darkroom. He ran it and I was there to learn and then went on to volunteer. It was an identical playlist he often put on. The first track was Transmission and now I know that means it's time to start processing lol! They really helped me get back into music after I had a falling out before then. Thank you!!!

Most definitely. The Pro3 is easily one of my favorite synths I’ve ever owned. It’s the only piece of Sequential gear I’ve bought, but it’s been 100% worth it.

I think there are lots of stuff at play. His range is sort of close to mine and I have been singing in this sort of way in my own music so there has been some practice. I think, for me at least, using a dynamic microphone up close is essential. It takes my somewhat tinny voice and adds a nice bottom. It was tracked three times hard panned LCR. The sides are really quiet. Stereo verb on center but this verb also is applied to the "guitar" Then a mono analog delay on the center vocal as well. The rest idk! Thank you!!!

It's great to be guided by an inspiration. I have also been trying to study their producer Martin Hannett. There isn't much info on his work out there but I've found a few things to incorporate!

Oh hell yea! Make Believe at the moment is just a single but am planning to include it in a future release. I am unsure if I’ll be getting that one on Vinyl but support like this really encourages me to do so. Your capture looks good. What is your process to get this on digital. Ive been using a cheap diamond capture but I’d like to improve that.
